Plot: In addition to the two worlds used for the Survival Game, there are many more countless worlds that also experienced the Survival Game. In relation to the other worlds, the God of Time and Space, Deus Ex Machina, has 90 days before his eventual death, and thus begins the Survival Game to decide his successor of his power and title. How this world is different from the two other worlds? The 12 expected participants simply do not exist in this world, and thus, 12 new Diary Holders will be chosen to fight to the death. 90 days to leave one Diary Holder left standing to become God. There will be alliances, betrayals, bystanders killed in the crossfire, and the struggle to survive. Just who will be the last one standing?

Rules: Pretty basic rules...
1. NO godmodding. That includes moving someone's character for them and/or killing them off without their permission.
2. As we only need 12 Diary Holders, the spaces are limited. If the title you want is taken, just go for another one. If we don't seem to have all 12 by the time the IC is started, it is okay to have a second character if we don't get any other players to join.
3. For the sake of not having two people reply back and forth, I will put a posting order before the IC is started.
4. If you're going to leave the roleplay or be gone for a certain amount of time, say so in the OOC or PM me so I won't kick you out. This is to keep this roleplay active.
5. Have fun!

Useful Information:
-Future Diary: The primary item used in the Survival Game, and there will be one for each participant of the Survival Game. Even if the way it functions is unique to each user (ex: predicts future deaths, predicts future loves, etc.), the Future Diaries are to predict the Future regardless. If the user's death is to come, it comes with a Dead End flag on their Future Diary, and only way to avoid the Dead End is to alter the future that is displayed on the Future Diary.

-Deus Ex Machina: The God of Time and Space, and the gamemaster of the Survival Game. He does not interfere with the game at all, and would choose his "favorite" to win. (NPC)

-MurMur: An assistant for Deus Ex Machina, she is very childish and playfully innocent. She would usually pass out the participants their Future Diaries in order for the Survival Game to begin. (NPC)

For how long are character slots reserved? I don't want to say anything without being able to keep a promise. I'm interested in this RP, being somewhat familiar with Mirai Nkiki. Would you intend for this RP to conclude in a manner similar to the manga/anime?

Since we're planning to start on Friday, I say before next week comes by. I'm also planning to have this go on in whatever direction this goes, and see what we could do. I don't want to make this too similar to the original series.

Just out of curiosity, do we decide on the personalized diary that we get? I know we write the scene that we got the diary in, but can we pick something specific to the character for the diary? Like how there was the event diary and the actions of a specific person diary.

@Sam12345: That's completely fine, I'm letting you have their Future Diary the way it would most relate to your character, and how it functions could work in a way close to the character's personality. Like how Yuno's Future Diary was all about Yuki and Yuno obsesses over Yuki in relation to that.

Here is my CS. Let me know if anything needs changing or editing. (Also, fun fact, this is officially the largest CS i have ever made)
Appearance:

Name: Andrew Simmons

Title: Seventh

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Occupation: Black Jack dealer at a casino

Personality: He is an average person, being happy and sociable with his life as it is. Although on the surface he seems nice and fun, underneath the façade he wears he revels in his internal insanity. When he is alone, he will often talk with Seven, usually getting angry at the ideas that he is fed by this voice. He still has moments where, when agitated or angry he can sometimes fall back into a state of pure chaos and insanity. In times like this, he has a habit of acting rashly, often causing a lot of trouble. He may seem like a social person, but in reality he still has a hatred of all people, distrusting and despising them for their actions. He lives by the morals of look after himself and anyone else is just expendable.

Skills: Sleight of hand - His dexterity and reaction speed are raised, half due to practice and half due to paranoia.
Throwing cards - He is able to throw cards and will almost always hit his target. He is not able to actually do damage to a person with normal cards though.
Insanity - Not much of a skill, but due to his traumas he has gone insane.

Future Diary: Andrew’s future diary is known as the ‘Chance’ Diary. This diary shows him the results of the choices made through his cards. This allows him to understand what will happen after he makes a certain choice and gives him an opportunity to go choose the other path. His diary will then change to show the results of his changed decision, although, if no card is drawn the diary will just show the points where he will be forced to make a choice. He can use this to draw cards beforehand and try to plan his actions, deciding what he will do before he reaches the situation. If he deviates from his plan, the diary will reset, losing all future choices made and revert to showing only decision points.

Backstory: Andrew was brought into a fairly ordinary family. He had an older brother, a loving mother and father and when he was three he was given a little sister. He was always happy, not having any reason to not be. He grew to have a fascination with playing cards, dice and anything of random chance. Even at a young age, he understood the difference one number could make from another. Not a simple change in physical numbers, but the fact that the number could make so much difference. It was simply a harmless fascination, nothing strange what so ever. But in its usual way, just as things seemed the best, life decided that things needed to change. His parents had left for the day and he was left with his brother and sister. This was a normal occurrence; his parents had to work hard to provide the privileged life that the kids were used to. But on this day, people were waiting.

About an hour after his parents had left a group of men showed up at the door with strange masks. They broke down the door and ran in, hoping to loot anything they can find. They ran through the house, tearing it apart to look for anything of value. After looking for a frustrating twenty minutes, the men had become fed up with searching and decided to take another approach. They dragged the kids out and sat them in the middle of the room. They questioned them, asking things like ‘Did your parents tell you where the valuable things were?’ None of the kids knew anything, they didn’t know what they were looking for or what they were meant to do. The men were angry with not having found a thing, which was when they came up with an idea. One took the dice from the table. He then explained the rules of the sick game they had imagined. Every five minutes they would roll the dice. If it was a six, they would kill one of the children unless they were brought something of value from the house.

Five. Ten. Fifteen. Twenty. Twenty five. Twenty five minutes. That’s all it took. His two siblings were dead on the ground in front of him. Andrew looked around, mortified by what he saw as the men rolled the dice again. It was then that the police arrived, having finally responded to the alarm that was triggered when the door was broken. The men were arrested and taken away as Andrew was put in a car and drove to the hospital to be checked out, leaving a blood soaked carpet and a dice with the number six facing up.
His parents arrived at the hospital to see him sitting in a chair, covered in bruises and blood from his siblings. His mother ran up and asked him what had happened, and all that he could say was one word. ‘Six’. Something inside him changed that day. He began to hate the number six, deciding that six was the number of evil. He began to hate life, only wanting to be alone with his cards. His change in personality mixed with the loneliness of the empty house they had moved to after the accident changed his mind. He began to go a little insane, festering in his own mind, becoming obsessed with his hatred of the number 6. He scratched the sixth side off of every one of his dice and ripped up the six cards in his decks. This delusion lasted for years, all through his adolescence and into his adulthood. He functioned normally, but was withdrawn and silent. But through his delusional fog, he found a saving light. A voice in his head that told him what he should do. A voice that told him how to fight and how to live again. This voice called itself ‘Seven’.

Seven helped him get up and get back to his life, rekindling his love for games of chance. He had developed a routine, attempting to figure out a way to tell the future. He would apply an answer or option to a card from the deck and draw one to pick his option for him. He would record the data in a diary on his phone along with the outcome, trying to find some kind of pattern he could use, having no luck. He now works at a casino, biding his time until one day he can fight back against people like the ones who took his family. His dream is to exterminate the human race for their despicable actions, but believes that his dream is forever out of his reach.

Sample Post: With a heavy sigh, Andrew pushed his apartment door open and threw his bag on the ground. He closed the door and latched, turned and clicked the various locks shut. Sliding off his vest and shirt, he walked to his fridge and grabbed a beer before sitting down on his old beaten up couch. This was the usual routine after a night of work at the casino.

“Don’t know how much longer I will be able to deal with people” He said as he leans back in the chair. ‘Are you feeling like you might have another episode?’ Seven asked, the genderless voice echoing through his head. “I think one is close” Andrew replied as he took a large swig from the bottle. He put his hands over his eyes and took a few deep breaths, trying to calm himself before he heard a noise. He opened his eyes and was met with a large pink room. He stood up and looked around, trying to comprehend how he got to the big room he was in. He was about to say something when a small girl walked up to him and sat on his lounge. With a confused glance, he noticed a massive chair with a large… thing in it.

“Anyone want to tell me how I got here?” Andrew asked, very perplexed at the situation he had somehow stumbled into. He was startled at the explanation he received, but it wasn’t the weirdest one he had ever gotten. He heard much worse in his head over the years, but this was something different. Tales of time and space? The future? Deus Ex Machina? And what was this about a death game? Andrew couldn’t believe what he was being told. He just shrugged it off as another hallucination and closed his eyes, willing it away. He felt the air around him shift as a deep voice told him “You have the future, now use it and win the game of life” and with a surprise, opened his eyes to be met with his usual apartment. He sat back down and let out a sigh as he took a swig from the bottle, before he was startled by a vibrating in his pocket. He pulled out his phone to see that he had a message. It seemed as though the message was empty, so he disregarded it. He thought to himself for a bit before having an idea. With a slick movement, he drew a deck of cards from his pocket.

“Eight or up, I go for a walk.” He said as he shuffled it. With a smooth flick of the hand, he drew a card and looked at it. It was then that he heard a strange sound from his phone. With curiosity, he picked up his phone to find his diary open. The entry read ’10 of spades, went for a walk and found a cat’. He was a little confused, but disregarded it before standing up and putting his jacket on.

‘What was with the weird entry?’ Seven asked, making polite conversation. “No idea” Andrew replied, trying to put what he thought was an episode out of his mind. Locking the door behind him, he made his way down the stairs and started off down the street. It was then that he heard a strange noise. Glancing to the side, he noticed a box lying on the ground with a few holes in the lid. As he slowly lifted the lid off, he was met with a soft meow from a tiny white kitten.

“What the hell?” Andrew asked as he pulled out his phone and examined it. The time matched, the card was the same and he found a cat. This was weird, but Andrew passed it off as a simple coincidence. He scratched the cat under its ear before deciding to do his good deed for the day. He made his way down the street to the store to get something for the cat to eat. He was tossed up between tuna and cat food, so he decided to draw a card. “Eight and up, I get tuna.” He said as he shuffled the deck. He drew a card and heard the noise again from his phone. Quickly pulling it out, he opened it and read the entry. ‘Two of hearts, got cat food. The cat was gone when I got back. Now I am stuck with cat food.’

‘Another entry’ Seven said with a slightly concerned tone. Something was defiantly weird about this, but Andrew decided to test it. He bought the cat food and made his way back to the spot, only to see an empty box where the cat once sat. It was then that a thought occurred to him. “It can tell the future… I can see the answer. I can avoid mistakes. Seven!” He yelled as he raised his arms. “The future is mine!” He yelled with a hearty laugh as the voice in his head tried to calm him down. With a deranged expression he looked at his phone. “Now, I can take this world. I can become… A god”

Sure thing!

Oh, just a little thing too. We still have to decide on which real-life city (basically the setting) we'll use for the roleplay. I'm actually not so sure where we could have the roleplay take place in...

Yea the city would be good to discuss. Do you think we should do somewhere in Japan? Or it might be better to use a city in America. Not sure what would be better, just spitballing some ideas.

@RolePlayerRoxas: Ooo, a video-game based diary? Can't wait to see what that'll be exactly.

@Sam12345: I'm actually leaning more on a city anywhere in America, since I want to do this a little differently than how the Mirai Nikki anime goes.

I forgot to subscribe, so I completely forgot about this thread! I'll create a character in a moment.

EDIT:

Under construction

Appearance:

Name: Quin Collins
Title: Third
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Occupation: Psychic. Performs tarot readings to individuals and 'sees' the future of others.
Personality: When you meet him, he comes off as a charismatic, comedic character, and is very appealing to people. However, to those who really know him, he is a cold and calculating heartless shell of a man. Bodies mean nothing to him if they are in the way of his goal. Since he comes off as charming, many people are willing to help him, and as such, he makes his way through life very, very easily. So when he goes into a challenge where he has to face others like him? It excites him. He enjoys seeing others who consider themselves equals destroyed under his boot, and gleams with joy when seeing the life drain out of his victims.

Skills: Due to his occupation as psychic, he is well-versed in lying and manipulation. He deals with his tarot cards often, meaning he can perform most of the rituals quickly and with ease. He also knows sleight-of-hand, considering he uses it often during his 'readings'. He is also observant, and can put together seemingly random objects to make a coherent event.

Future Diary: Tarot Diary. Through the use of Tarot Cards, he can predict the future of not only himself, but others. The longer and more complex the Tarot ritual is, the more detailed the prediction, however simply pulling out a random card will still give a short description. The more focused the ritual is, the more aimed the information is. In situations where time is a luxury, its usage seems unstoppable. However, if on the go or rushed, the short descriptions of the future may not be enough. Another weakness to the Tarot Cards is that unless you spend a long time into the ritual, it won't give an exact time. It could be anywhere from a few minutes to a few weeks.

Backstory: Since he was a small child, he got what he wanted. He had all the friends, money, girls, you name it. He lived what many would call the good life. He planned to become a rich entrepreneur, and own most of the world's stocks and goods. It wouldn't have been hard either- his parents knew a lot of contacts, and were quite rich themselves. Until, when he was 17, he saw their death in front of his eyes. Shot in the heart by an unknown assassin, they were killed over business deals. Quin was angry. He didn't care about their death, but he didn't get a penny of their money, and all his dreams were destroyed in front of his eyes. He left the scene, not wanting to be put into foster care, even for a little bit. He made a living, using lies to build himself up as a psychic. He got quite good, and even made it onto TV. Eventually, his fame died down, and he lived his daily life, saving money to get his dream. He swore revenge on the assassin- not because he killed his parents, but because he prevented Quin from getting the money and power he felt he rightfully deserved. Though Quin refused to let this atrocious person get in his way. He will own the world. Nothing would stop him from that.
