Two rodlin in an establishment as shabby as the Platinum Goblet is indeed quite a lot, particularly if all one got was a spot on the floor, and a minor businessman such as the proprietor of a small tavern is indeed unlikely to accept Melenian currency, which would be the copper coins you speak of. In Rodoria rodlin is the only kind of coin, and they are quite valuable. (EDIT: It also occurs to me to mention that even if the tavern keeper did accept Melenian coppers, two such coins would be nearly worthless. He'd be more likely to receive a scoff and be shown the door than to get a spot behind the stairs for that kind of money.) And yeah, I have to agree with Shien that I'd prefer if you left the actions of the NPCs (which I said earlier that I would be controlling directly) to me... it would also mean that you actually had something to do, rather than just write one post like this and then wait for other characters to catch up on the point in time Kaedan is occupying. EDIT 2: That is, the NPCs in the tavern; you don't have to change anything from before then.

@cthulu: A small note - the shirt was from Aemoten, not the guards (all Aemoten's shirts are long enough to reach her mid-thigh, and both buttonless and sleeveless), and her boots would still be her own (her boots should still be in fairly decent condition as she didn't take the brunt of the goblin attack; she simply left them to dry yesterday since they were soaked after two days of downpour). Alaine only left her a skirt and pants. (The slightly too big boots were for Aemoten.)

It is also rather cold outside - it is autumn, after all.

(OoCly, Brand's raven is indeed a she, so Thaler was actually correct in that. She has a name, too - Beatrice -, but our characters never really heard Brand call her by her name in their vicinity...)

As a sidenote, we have can use the tab character now. I can finally make paragraphs the normal way, and don't have to fall back to dumb alternatives or some kind of arcane sorcery to make my paragraphs a bit more distinct without having to resort to double line breaks (the empty lines of which tend to disjoint the text to the point where I myself tend to have difficulties actually following the text when people use it for very short paragraphs or, say, dialogue).
On earlier days I've simply left my posts with single line break paragraphs, lately I've taken the effort to either fetch some of the lesser-known whitespace characters that aren't typically omitted on forums and in plain HTML (en space and em space and such are typically fairly sure way - in browser-HTML you just type in the codes for them, in most other places you don't need them since other whitespaces are respected but they exist regardless, on forums you basically have to paste them ... Win also has an alt-combination (Alt+2002), but as it is, I am typically not on Windows), or - speaking of dumb solutions - blank images, background-colored underscores... But now I finally have my tab character back (as well as multiple spaces).
Yes. Tab character working properly. On a forum. Strange things do happen...

I just want to let everyone know I'm still around and invested. I've just been busy with school and hit a bit of a snag with my new character. I should be able to work more on him next week hopefully, as it's my Spring Break.

My apologies for the lack of absence and the shortness of my reply. Getting back into university life had been more of a challenge than I had anticipated (with one of the courses I had been following being a huge struggle. Shien knows how busy I was via Skype), so creativity has been limited. I have posted something so that the characters in Zerul City can carry on.

Appreciated Merc, and no problem, life's just that way sometime haha. Guess that makes it my turn now, huh? Hmm, I'll get to that in the next few days (today, tomorrow, or Saturday knowing me).

Uh... okay. Why wait until, if it's okay to ask? The scene is set up for Kaedan, and you by extension, to have something to do in the meantime while the rest of the characters catch up on Kaedan's place and time (already the characters are scattered not only geographically, but also chronologically. I think I'on, Ixion and Morgan's group occupy a time relatively close to the one Aemoten's group is in, although I think they are a bit later, Kaedan exists in the evening of the same day, and Jillian and Gerald actually exist in the previous evening). It's okay if you just don't feel like RP'ing Kaedan, I guess (though I would point out that events that take place in that tavern will be just as real and have just as much impact on the story as those taken anywhere else), but you certainly don't have to feel that you can't do so, or that there would be no point in doing so.

Evening! Is this still active/open?

As Ashgan helpfully supplied faster than I could, the RP is indeed open and active (the former indicated by the new "join status"-indicator, the latter suggested by the recent addition of new posts). Feel free to submit a character for review if you want, and ask any questions you may have, and I'll do what I can to assist.

My apologies for the lack of absence and the shortness of my reply.
[@Mercinus]

That's quite all right - normally I'd even think that lack of absence was a positive thing, even if it would suggest a slight lack of real life. Joking aside it really is okay; by now I know how tough university can be. I'm just glad that things can get moving a little again in that scene.

@Frozen Soul: Welcome!

I'm pretty confident that he'd get a better place than a floorspot under the stairs for two rodlin ... unless the barkeep can tell he's foreigner and decides to rob him blind. Or perhaps the bar is full already and the barkeep would scoff something along those lines? Or he'd offer to throw out someone who only paid one rodlin? How'd I know?
Shienvien
All of those things. The answer is "all of those things". (For some reason I am mildly amused by the fact.)
And I second Jack and Yoshua - it might be a while of waiting if you decide to go for an official time-leap to the night. Say, how does Kaedan feel about corruption?
- By my estimation, Aemoten's group is (as of the time being; it may change soon) actually quite significantly earlier in the day than the Zerul group - it was between three and four in the morning when he first went out, and I think it is reasonable to say it is about six in the morning now, whereas it is presently afternoon in Zerul, and has been so for a bit. I'd say the borderhouse is currently about eight to ten hours ahead.

@Nessa:
Uhh... There was no need to purge the entire post just for a couple of minor inaccuraccies in the second half of it. I could somewhat use the cached version of your original post in writing my reply (as I hope to get to doing tonight; I had intended to do so today or yesterday, but that time was entirely eaten by bureaucracy), as much of it as still applies? If anything ends up being not true to you'd picture it, un-Thalerlike or otherwise off, please do let me know, and I'll make corresponding edits right away. Okay?

Posting order recap:
Ashgan with Jillian
Yoshua in Zerul (??? Kaedan)
I in both collabs.

Oh, I didn't know we were on different times. I didn't want to get ahead of the others and move on to the next day. If I did make a post under that assumption, it would just be "Kaedan went to a spot and lied down" which wouldn't really be worth a post. Right now, I don't really know whether I want to advance to the next day or not. I can always come up with stuff to advance my character on his own against whatever the GM throws at me (I can even come up with some quests to advance my character's plot if need be). Do you want me to do something like that, or maybe work together?

I don't want to take too much initiative because I'm still trying to get a feel for how much freedom I have with the NPCs and the game world. If you're down, we can work on some quests and NPC interactions for just my character through PMs or a collab website (like an online notepad or something).

Say, how does Kaedan feel about corruption?

What do you mean exactly? Right now, he's similar to "Lawful Good", though I'm not really sure if I should call him that. Although he's much more lenient and laid back than others from his church, he's still a religious extremist and has been brainwashed since childhood to see the world in black and white rather than shades of gray. Depending on what he sees, he might act violently.

Well, I was thinking that the tavern, without any fast-forwarding and so in current time, would serve admirably as a scene for Kaedan to occupy for the moment... as in, he could react to what the tavern keeper is saying, if you'll excuse suggesting the obvious. Just roll with what I have the NPCs do and say, basically, and treat at least the tavern keeper and the deigan woman as player-controlled characters for the time being. Let Kaedan live and do what comes natural to him... roleplay, basically.
I had hoped that the scene would find a natural progression without too much OOC-input on its contents, but in case it aids your motivation I will reveal that one of the people in the Platinum Goblet is what you'd call a notable NPC and potential companion...

In that case we should collab, or else I can only make a really short post. Because all I can do right now is let my character go to sleep. Guy's tired, he's not going to go around starting conversations.

You could time-jump to morning and have him wake up (at which point Jack'd describe what transpired in the tavern meanwhile)? How would Kaedan react to the barkeep's offers; simply take the first one and not discuss further?
((Ehh... If he is as tired as you make him seem, I'd understand if he didn't wish to discuss things further at the time being, or even think over them too much.))

- I believe there is very little chance Kaedan would be meeting another played character before a bit later in the next day; almost definitely not in this inn.

(Just throwing out suggestions here.)

Quick question: does a vampire's regeneration apply to conscious-losing blows? (Seeing that usually the reason one loses consciousness due to a bruise on the brain and/or damage to one's skull via a direct attack to the head). As in, a vampire could possibly recover faster than the average human?

So there would be no comment on the tavern keeper's latter offer and just blunt acceptance of the former one? In that case an immediate fast-forward could be justified, especially if Kaedan really is too tired to feasibly do much of anything this evening. I'll make a quick post skipping to the next morning in the tavern soon, then... as soon as I find a moment to do so in.

And technically yes, Rhaevnn, in the sense that damage sustained by a vampire's brain does real rapidly (as long as there's vampiric blood available, and if that wasn't the case for the brain I imagine one would have significantly greater problems than unconsciousness on one's hands), although as Shien has pointed out many times in the past, unconsciousness rarely last long in humans, either, unless they sustained quite severe damage. Usually one transitions between unconsciousness and sleep if one actually remains inert for more than a brief period of time, or just revives quickly.
