Other RPs I've run or Co-GMed, there's a minimum amount of posts per period of time. Case in point, the D&D RP I'm in demands that I post once every four days, with a secondary rule stating that I must wait for two other posts before posting again.

Now, in order to make that happen during slow periods, it is encouraged that we post about character thoughts, feelings, or small actions in their down time. I had one post where my character farted in a bathtub. It was regarded by many as art (sadly), but it kept interest up in a slow period, even kickstarting others' posts. There's always something to write about, even if you're just waiting out front.

Describe a scarab beetle crawling by. Does it make little swishy tracks in the sand? Quiet scraping sounds against a stone? Is it carrying anything? Trying to hide from the broiling sun? Are you going to step on it? Maybe you're picking your nails with a knife, and/or tapping your foot impatiently. Perhaps you, too, need to let an unstable trouser-growl fly.

Speaking of which: roleplayerguild.com/posts/3214659 Enjoy.

Yes, I believe that the RP needs to progress. In the meantime, a little "getting to know you" or "flavor text" posting isn't going to hurt matters any. May even let our benevolent GM understand that we're still in play, active, and ready to move. Doing nothing says the opposite of this.

Just so you guys know, NPC's aren't necessarily exclusively mine to control. You need Gerik to bark an order to get your character's ass in gear? Go right ahead. As long as you aren't going overboard with it or just flat out killing them off then I don't mind you guys manipulating some of the NPC's to move your posts forward. My posts are mainly for big story moments or battle scenarios.

I used Rath and his cohorts a little bit in my last post, let me know if I need to change anything.

I think it's a bad thing if we're to flavor text and "getting to know you" too much. I've seen people expend all of their character development very quickly very early into an RP, and it's like, "bitch this shit just started, I don't need your life story".

I would prefer characters grew by a combination of responding to new developments, and their own musings in their own time. I'm going to post though since our black knight's appearance would be cause for Sigurd to check on what's happening.

I said "a little". Not "life story". But thank you for acquiescing and giving us a post.

I know, but I mean to say if we don't get moving, eventually someone just might give their life story.

Call me morbid but that would be hilarious if it actually worked out that way.

Not that I actually want it to, just that it would get a laugh out of me. Of course, after it happening once it would stop being funny and I would put the GM hat on and move us along by force if necessary.

Welp, I hate to be that guy, but I think at this point really anyone still playing this is just waiting for Double to do the send off to the skirmish, most of our last posts were to the effect of preparing to leave, and it's been a little over 2 weeks since our last plot post, the only character that's been active that might not be ready is ol' Darksouls there, and I imagine if someone mentions "Ganondorf's forces" with in earshot he'll be raring to go.

As far as Etzo goes, any post from me would simply be me BSing my way through some alchemy jargon, I imagine if anyone else had something to add they'd have done it at this point. Maybe I'm being a bit rushed, but I think 2 weeks is more than enough time to move the plot along.

If a segue into the fun and adventure isn't forthcoming, I will be posting one by tomorrow evening. That's U.S. EST, if you're counting the minutes.

That being said, let's review:

We've got Yuri, Etzo, and Cricket in Gerik's company back at HQ. Sigurd is waiting outside for us to get a move on, and Rath (NPC) and small contingent of Sheikah are escorting/carrying The Knight back to HQ, where I assume we'll all meet up, get orders from Gerik, and run like hell to the Gerudo Fortress and engage in an unholy Hylian smackdown. Did I miss anybody?

Would have done a bit more with it tonight, but I find that I am slightly under the influence of single malt scotch and chocolate ice cream.

@Sigil Well, other than the fact that Etzo isn't actually in the HQ, sounds about right

Also realize I'm not a GM so i guess itz not my area to ask, but I am curious wether @Bai Suzhen,@Jester Acharis, and @Gowi are still around, I know Gowi said they'd have something up a few days ago, but the other two haven't posted anything anywhere in over 2 weeks, spook

But then again I geuss that's not really my business to get into.

Hey, all. Been a bit since the last post. Things are getting underway, curious as to who's still in this thing. Post worthy opportunity, followed by a short(ish) trip to the action.

Oi, what's the hold-up here? We had a GM post to move things along and nobody bothered to reply or anything. You can't seriously be telling me that everyone just magically lost interest at the same time. And being busy isn't an end-all-be-all excuse because most of you have clearly still been active on the site, so what in the actual heck, people?

So because basically everyone decided to drop out without saying a word, my RP died before it could even start. Dick move guys, thanks a lot.

So is this RP dead? I was sort of interested in the concept but if I'm the only one here I won't bother making up a character.

I'm fairly positive that, with a reboot and interested player base, this RP can come out of stasis.
