Katherin was surprised when a man approached her. She hadn't been expecting that. She honestly had no idea how to react. She reache sout and took his hand after he introduced himself. "What makes you think your the one I'm looking for?" She asked curiously. She chuckled at his joke. It was lame but sweet. She felt an odd stirring in her. She didn't understand what it was. It was strong though. "My name is Katherin."

"I just felt like we had a connection the moment I saw you." he said, keeping the charm on. "I think you can feel it too, that energy we have in common."

When the other guy left the table Duke waited a little bit for his food to arrive and when it did he ate it as fast as he could. What could he say he was hungry. When Duke finished he went outside to find Kyle so that he could pay for Duke's food. He found Kyle when he was talking to a girl. Duke felt the same type of feeling within the girl as he felt with the guy. He could sence something inside them both, something that he also had. He walked up to the two putting his hands in his pocket. "Yo dude don't forgot to pay for that meal." He then focused his attention to the girl. "Hello I don't want to disturb you, but I can feel sence something with you. Oh by the way I'm Duke."

Then the other guy came up to them and said something about paying for the meal. "I was just stepping away for a moment." he responded. "I saw an angel enter the restaurant and had to greet her." He looked at Katherine. "I would be honored if you would join us. Please, let me buy you something. A drink? Something to eat?"

As Dustin prepared to walk away, he heard Jeremy."Oh. Hi. I could say the same to you." That was when he felt it. The pull. He realised this man could potentially have abilities just as he had. He could be dangerous. Not knowing his intentions, nor his abilities, Dustin asked a simple question: "Are you here to kill me?"

He hadn't aimed to gain much information with this question, so he stood his ground and spoke further to the man. It was evident he had trust issues, but with someone with similar abilities to his own, he had to be wary. Finally, he added, "We both know we touched something and gained some powers or something. Now, if you take a step further, I'll kill you." He let electricity pulse through his hand to demonstrate the point. "If you tell me who you are, why you are here and what your ability does, and demonstrate it on someone or something else, we can talk. But if I find out you're lying, let's just say you're death won't be so fast."

Dustin had no real intention of killing him; at most he would've knocked him out and ran, but he needed to act violent in case this person was indeed dangerous.

Jeremy was taken aback as Dustin asked his questions, made his demands, and threatened his life. He hadn't expected the person to be so forward, or so violent. He paused, pulling out a pack of cigarettes and lighting one up for effect, and because he needed to think. To prod. Even as he stood before the person, his mind reached out, prodding Dustin's defenses. Sure enough, absorbing whatever he had absorbed had armored his mind. Controlling this person would be quite difficult. He then smirked. While he felt resistances versus mind control, it seemed as if there was no special resistances to hallucinations, but he wouldn't try that.

He didn't feel like getting shocked. "First off, I'm not here to kill you. My name is Jeremy Haynes, former owner of Haynes Inc. I was out for a walk before my head started hurting. It led me to you." He explained this part as best he could, confident, as he wasn't lying and he knew it. He put up his pack and his lighter, turning his attention back to Dustin. "As for my powers..." He stares, still grinning cryptically. "Well, lets just say I'm very persuasive."

He sighed. This wasn't enough; he'd have to resort to violence. He sent a simple shock of electricity, not enough to damage, but enough to sting, towards Jeremy. "More details. Show it, if possible. And if you try anything on me, I'll amp up the strength of the next blast."
Whilst he hoped that Jeremy would provide more information, he realised that the he was very dangerous. Persuasive made him feel like he was vulnerable. He couldn't trust anything. He ought to get away as soon as he could. But he couldn't. The pull was too strong. He needed more time until he could make a break from it and completely suppress the influence he was feeling.

Katherin blused at the man's compliment. She knew she was an attractive girl but she had never considered herself to be beautiful. She was verh curious about the men. She felt drawn to them but she coildnt say why. She her head. "I will join you but I can't allow you to pay for me. That wouldn't be fair." She had always taken care of herself. She wasn't going to stop now.

A jolt racing up his spine, Jeremy ground his teeth together imperceptively, staring at the man before him. Dustin was going to make this difficult, and he didn't have anyone to use his power on. The streets around them were deserted, and it didn't look like someone was going to walk by for a while. "Listen man, I don't know what your deal is, but as far as I can tell nobody but us knows about what these things do. Nobody is out to get you, and until we figure out what these shards are I would suggest not frying a potential ally." Even without using his powers, Jeremy was a rather convincing speaker. Especially since as far as he knew, what he was saying was true.

"I can mess with people's minds. Control them, make them see hallucinations, stuff like that, but as far as I can tell I can't do that to you." This was a half truth. While he couldn't control him so easily, Jeremy knew that if he could just make contact, his mind would overpower the barrier that was in his way. He really hoped he wouldn't have to, but he wasn't completely out of options if Dustin refused to back down.

"I want to believe you, but I can't. The people who sound the most endearing are often the ones who can't be trusted." He pondered over what he would say next, then sighed. "There's no real reason keeping you there... You probably would've used your powers on me if you could've. I'll let you go, but please, I'm trusting you here, don't head in the direction you're being pulled towards. Just being near someone else like me... it fills me with some murderous intent. The only way to quell it being to calm down. I apologise for my brash attitude. I'll be leaving, now." He would proceed to head down the alleyway he was going to head down before Jeremy interrupted him.

Jeremy sighed as he watched Mr. Electric walk away with a simple apology, as if shocking him had been an accident. Did he really think Jeremy wasn't about to follow him? Of course, Jeremy first had to prove he was legit... because he wanted to. And as he stared at Dustin's back, he knew just how to do that. Hell, he'd already been shocked once.

Dustin, as he walked away, would soon come face to face with a glorious beast. The creature stood several stories tall, muscular body towering over Dustin's tiny human form. It's tiny, useless forearms raised from it's torso as it reared up, giving a mighty roar. Standing before Dustin was a T. rex. The king of lizards lumbered back, lowering it's head to come face to face with Dustin. "...Do you know what I am?" The lizard inquired, speaking what was undoubtedly English.

Jeremy smirked at his imaginary creation, attempting to stay quiet so Dustin wouldn't remember he was there. Messing with people's perceptions of reality is such good fun, he thought.

"Odd." He turned to walk around the T-Rex, ignoring its question. He didn't really care that there was what appeared to be a T-Rex there. He had admired the supposed King of Lizards, until around the age of 7 where he realised there were far bigger, more dangerous dinosaurs that the T-Rex and its puny forearms couldn't possibly match. He wasn't interested in it at all. It did seem out of the ordinary, but what he could do was out of the ordinary, so he had become somewhat desensitised towards what was once impossible. Now it had become improbable.

But that wasn't what he was saying 'Odd' about it. What he thought was odd was the lack of electrical current running through it at all. Thus, he surmised, it had to be a somehow animated carcass of sorts that seemed realistic or something... impossible. It couldn't be the real thing - T-Rex's undoubtedly required nerves to function, so there would at least be some form of electricity running through it. It couldn't be a machine - that would have to run off of electricity. The only logical conclusion was the man he'd just met. He probably had angered him, due to the electric shock. Dustin felt he had no way of explaining the murderous intent he had felt near the man, so he returned to his violent persona.

"Jeremy, was it? Was this you?"

Taking notice that what he had just said to Albert may have brought even more tension into the conversation, Taka simply grinned. "I hope you don't mind, but I think a breathe of fresh air could come in handy right about now. Pardon me!" He says as he walks past him to open up a nearby window. Upon doing so, the same feeling Taka had when he grew closer to Albert had reemerged. Upon closer inspection of the outside world that lay before him, the Conduit noticed a girl surrounded by a plethora of animals. His smile grew even more at the sight of her, feeling rather lucky at being able others that had the same kind of energy about them. "Why hello there! You were looking for us, I assume? Well, I'd be more than happy to keep you company." He exclaims.

Maxie was about to disregard the creepy hotel and leave when she heard a noise, like a window opening. She turned and saw Taka leaning out of it, staring at her and directly addressing her. Maxie stood there for a moment, blinking at him. Though the feeling that had drawn her to the hotel in the first place got stronger upon seeing Taka, it only eased her awful social anxiety somewhat. She could still feel herself tense up, like usual, in reaction to being spoken to, and she was having trouble bringing herself to talk back, suddenly. Before she could spend 5 whole minutes in awkward silence planning her first move, however, her animals made their own first move.
Maxie was a bit dazed still when she heard the cats near her begin to yowl, and saw them running at the stranger in the open window. Now, they were easy to stop by hand, but the circle of angry birds forming near the roof of the place was not. A bit of panic gripped the girl, and before she could really asses her actions, she found herself reaching her hand forward.
"STOP." She talked louder in that moment than she probably ever had in her life. Now, a sane and logical person probably wouldn't think that just shouting stop at a mob of angry animals would work...but soon, Maxie found that all the animals were sitting, birds on the roof, cats by the window, and all of them just staring at her, waiting on more orders.
After seeing this, Maxie tried to play it cool, acting like she knew how to stop the animals the whole time, and slowly walked closer to Taka.
"....S-sorry...about that." She cleared her throat nervously. "So, uh...h-how's....how's it goin'?"

"It's going even better now that I know what you're capable of." Taka quickly leaps from the window, nailing a landing that would have given regular human all sorts of injuries. "That's quite an interesting talent you have there, controlling animals like that. I'd show you my tricks, but where's the fun in rushing this conversation? I could talk to a pretty woman such as yourself for quite a while." He says, winking at her. The man straightened his tie, feeling as if he was well-dressed for this very moment.

Maxie was slightly taken aback when she saw Taka nail a landing that should have at least broken half of his bones. She took a few steps back once he was in front of her, and listened to what he was saying. A skeptical look crossed her face when she processed his last remark and saw him wink.
Was...uh...was he hitting on her?
Maxie decided not to call any attention to that. She was having trouble enough talking as it was, though the vibe and the air around this guy, in addition to the fact that she was almost certain now that he had weird powers too, was calming her some.
"Aha...s-so you can do crazy stuff, too, huh?" Try as she might to make eye contact while she spoke, she almost instantly found her eyes focusing more on the cats, who had walked back to her side. "Controlling animals?...Uh...I'd use the word "controlling" loosely. I've, uh...only had this for a couple weeks or so...they seem to react to my emotions more than my commands. I haven't figured out how to not make them follow me everywhere or attack when my emotions get the better of me. I...I've already been fired from 3 jobs 'cause of that..." She tried to explain.
The cat to her right meowed and rolled onto his back, while the other purred and wound around Maxie's ankles. She sighed and crouched down to pet them.
"...Not that I could stay mad at them." A slight smile crossed her face. "So...uh...what's your name? I'm, uh...M-Maxie."

"Maxie, hm? A wonderful name! My name is Taka. I am quite pleased to make your acquaintance, milady." He then begins to chuckle after listening to her explanation of her current limitations and the havoc her ability has caused to her life. "If there were a competition for losing jobs, you'd only be in second place, love. I've lost far more jobs than you have, and they were all BEFORE I had gained my power. Apparently, it's VERY wrong to strike up conversations with customers. Especially when that scenario involves a woman and her boyfriend." He remarks, running a hand through his hair as he plays back every instance he just referred to in his mind.

Maxie listened to Taka introduce himself while still petting the cats around her. Once she heard his own story on losing jobs, she smiled a little more, out of both amusement and relief that she wasn't alone in being unable to keep a job.
"Heheh, well, Taka...I think if I hadn't had these...powers...and tried to get a job....I, uh...wouldn't have been fired for talking too much. P-probably the opposite...I, uh...I dunno if you can tell, but I have some pretty....crippling social anxiety." Maxie had stood back up to talk to him, but still couldn't find the power to make eye contact. She laughed a bit, bitterly. "Striking up a conversation...w-with a taken girl, huh? Heh...I dunno. I think the time that...my cats followed me into the store...and clawed some customer in the face who was being a jerk to me...prooobably worse..."
Were they really having a pseudo-competition over who had the worst job experiences? Ah well, it didn't matter to Maxie either way. She hadn't talked to someone like this in forever, and for once she was actually mildly enjoying a conversation. That being said, it was probably partially due to the fact that Taka had powers too. If he didn't, Maxie might've already walked away, but the pull of that strange aura wouldn't let her now.
