End Merlin

October 26th, 2016, you would have risen that day as you do any other. Step from rest, address ever-evolving issues, accomplish a sense of fulfillment by the end of all typical rhythms. Regrettably, Earth's human population had no such luxury by time of dawn, eastern standard time.

At 7:37 A.M., an ominous female voice is telepathically perceived by all humans; if they are asleep, it rouses them. Her words are as follows: "The games have begun. Laugh and rejoice. Children, your first test starts. Stop extinction."

By 8:30 A.M., half of Earth's sentient population has been claimed by a supernatural plague. Victims of said plague are transformed into ghoul-like creatures with profound speed and strength. This disease does not spread naturally, hosts are chosen at random from all populations.

By 9:30 A.M., Earth's moon appears in the sky, it's surface now jet-black and lined with alien symbols. Said symbols faintly correlate with ancient Nordic runes. The sky darkens planet wide, beginning to continuously project a deep twilight despite current time of day.

By 10:20 A.M., satellite communications of all kinds have ceased. Almost all world superpowers are in complete turmoil due to the aforementioned plague's ability to spontaneously manifest within anyone regardless as to all known means of quarantine. The Mexican cartel is one of few surviving groups maintaining an active communications network.

By 11:11 A.M. they arrive, those magic few whom promised Merlin they would come when 'End Times' can no longer be prevented by himself. Meanwhile, all previously dormant supernatural/mythical evils have now been reawakened and revitalized. Anything and everything that could have been under your bed probably is at this time.

By 11:20 A.M., you're discovered by one of the aforementioned 'magic few'. Wherever you found refuge was either well-hidden or did a fine job of keeping you safe these past four hours, but the scope of Earth's current horrors have still been made relatively known to you one way or another. (Your first post would be your exposition, showing how they survived and what they went through without any relic abilities.)

Jack Grein

Jack dove down the hole that he had just uncovered and closed the entrance again. As soon as he was certain he was safe, he looked at his surroundings. Jack was underground. In a bunker of some sorts. Probably made by some apocalypse fantasiser who died during the first ten minutes. He walked to what seemed to be the kitchen area and grabbed a random can out of the pantry. He popped it open with his bare hands almost reflexively, not even caring about the trickle of blood that went with it. He walked around, before finding the living area and sat down on a Lay-Z-Boy and began to eat. He ignored the screams, knowing that the end had begun.

A few hours later...

Jack shoved his hands into his leather jacket's pockets, content after eating a can of peaches and three packets of beef jerky. He sighed as he kicked up his black Converse on the table across from him. He listened to the bangs on the door, courtesy of the people outside. All Jack had was, well, cans of food and jugs of water. He leaned forward to find his small phone on the table and was unsatisfied when it didn't come on. "You can't be serious..." He grumbled, trying again and again. He eventually got up, and looked out the window of the hatch. The ghouls were a horrid sight. Jack had to look away, or he was certain he would pass out.

7:37 A.M
Arnold turned away from his computer screen. Pondering, just what in the world had that been? It sounded like something out of a the hunger games or something, but more befuddling was that it seemed to have come from his head and no external source. Looking around he didn't notice any immediate change but he changed the TV to a news channel and continued as he was before.

8:30 A.M.
Arnold stared at the TV in shock, reports of a zombie like virus spread across the world, seemingly heralded by the voice from not even an hour before. Arnold locked the door of his small rented house, more of a cottage on the outskirts of town really, full well knowing that if one of those zombie like things came here it wouldn't hold the monster off, but doing it still made him feel a little better. Now he was searching the internet for any information on them and also trying to figure out what he could possibly do to hold one of them off.

9:30 A.M.
In case Earth hadn't turned to hell it seemed like the moon wanted to join in. The TV was flickering too much with static to be of any use but he didn't need it to see the sky darken and the strange symbols. The theories were rampaging, everything from space nazis to Lovecraft being proposed. Basically just useless speculation.

10:20 A.M.
Internet out. TV out. Phone lines down. Freaking voice wasn't kidding, at this rate they'd all be dead before they had a chance to figure out what happened other than zombie plague. Arnold was suddenly glad he'd made a shopping trip the day before, he had a feeling that any place with food or supplies would be hopelessly mobbed.

11:11 A.M
Arnold had been attempting for formulate some sort of plan but nothing was coming. Super zombies plus no communication at all. He didn't own any guns or real weapons. For all he knew making a few miles into town would result in being swarmed by hundreds of the creatures. He couldn't think of anything beyond staying here and hoping for the best. After all he had enough food for at least a week and the water seemed to still be working at least. Arnold grabbed a shovel and laid it against the wall next to the door, better than nothing right? He sat in front of his now virtually useless computer thinking about how to proceed. Some form of defense or warning system was required. He either needed to be able to fight off any ghoul that found or him or be able to flee from it. Both of those were difficult given that fact that they seemed to be superhuman. Argh...
