Question how plausible would it be to go into the void and come back possessed by a void being?

The closest thing to that scenario would be someone who is mutating into a void being, which is a painful and maddening process.

4th dimension as in that parasyte in "Stranger Things" which had the ability to traverse through dimensions. That creature was a 4 dimensional being.

By 4D site I imply that my character can see through objects and all around him in a 360° view sphere. Basically an all-seeing power in ever direction. This includes seeing invisible spirits, other beings and of course peek through the void. All this is done at will. Have you seen that Constantine movie with him seeing dead people all around? Or that Dr. Strange movie seeing spirits and spirit parasyte leeching of humans.

And about the 360° view. My character literally carved out his eyes and went half mad upon entering the void realm and after a prolonged stay. So he doesn't use his eyes to see hence not limited by them as if he were to see 4D with his eyes. He sees 4D with his "inner eye". So he can choose to see what you ate for breakfast, then a second later focus on seeing through you and the house behind you, then he can choose to see inside the house or even behind it.

This is a bit powerful, and it would trivialize parts of the story. What your character could do, however, is to see echoes of both dimensions. That is, things that has recently happened in a place and the corresponding location in the void. But seeing through objects is going to make the 'search for this person' part of the story more or less pointless.

I've read your character sheet. Interesting outcome for the prelude. Your character might have a few things in common with the prodigy Mystic that the team will search for. It will be an NPC, but there might be a good connection between it and your character nonetheless—something to keep in mind!

@Sypherkhode822
There are two names that appear throughout your character sheet: Sara and Laura. Is this the same person? I was a bit confused, or I didn't understand if it had something to do with the split personality.

@FantasyChic
Looks fantastic! Add her to the character tab.

I'll post my CS here first before I put into the character tab - I like a review and input!

@Prisk Would a small influence on gravitational fields be an acceptable Void power or is that stretching the definition a little bit?

Alright, no worries!

@Jinxer
I like the scholar feel to your character. That's always a good addition to a team like this. Other than that, things are spot on. Just the warfare section missing! As for the 'gravitational field' thing, how would it work in practical terms?

@Elgappa
Very cool. The artifacts were interesting to read about, especially. Nice Lovecraftian vibe in the character. The 'W.I.P' is still in the appearance section. Other than that, all good!

@Prisk I was thinking in terms of temporarily weakening/strengthening it either in a small area or on himself (for example, treating his own body as having a much higher weight at the point of an impact to make a blow much heavier or to reduce the effect from a fall by reducing his weight and so his terminal velocity).

I realise acting on even a small area would be open to abuse, hence my examples for enacting the effects solely on himself.

The common technique 'Beasthood' increases physical capabilities, so that covers the heavier impacts. But, you could have levitation be his unique ability. It's similar to what you're describing, only you could use it to reach heights as well. Would this work for you?

@Prisk, I have a quick question. It says in your lore post that members of the Division don't dabble in Mysticism or willingly go into the Void, but given Ferdi's past and contributions, would it be possible for the rules to have been bent for him? He already had training in Mysticism for a good twelve or so years before the incident for his father, and his views on the Void would make him much less reluctant to interact with it, especially taking into account that he would have likely entered the Void many times during his few years studying around the world. In short, would he have access to minor Mystic powers? it doesn't make much of a difference too me, but I imagine it would to the RP a bit.

@Durandal
They don't use void techniques regardless of whether they know them or not. Some mysticism effects may be linked to items that emit sound, but they would refrain from using these as well. One of The Division's strongest weapon is the anti-sound device, which nullifies the use of mysticism within its effective range. This means that they can't use abilities themselves. If Ferdi has picked up some techniques over the years, then that's fine. Other veteran division members probably have as well. But, again, they don't use them.

when the Division nullifies mystic powers, do they just make it so that no new powers can be used?

So if Sara is in a room that she had already turned into a foggy pit of abandon, and then the anti-sound device is used, does this mean that the fog disappears, or that no new fog can be created?

Whatever effects that have already been summon will remain. The device only disrupts other sound sources, which prevents further void techniques.

Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you have a good time tomorrow. I think we're set to start soon. I'll write up the first post for next week at some pint, probably the first half. In the mean time, you can always check out the inspirations that I listed for the roleplay: Bloodborne, Stranger Things, and H.P. Lovecraft.

I'll be unavailable tomorrow, but around on Sunday again.

Merry Christmas to you as well! I apologize for my silence, just haven't had a lot of things to talk about.

In other news, mentioning Bloodborne reminds me that I have a skill/bloodtinge that needs to finish the Bloodborne DLC. AKA, Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower. AKA, that woman that has completely stopped my progress last time I played haha.

Maria <3

I loved that fight. Everything about it is so perfect. The area after her, though, is a nightmare. But it is blatantly inspired by Lovecraft's "Shadow Over Innsmouth," so it's alright!

@Prisk Merry Christmas to you as well! I'll edit my CS and pop it into the character tab in due course - my first niece/nephew is due today and looks to be on time so I might be suddenly absent for a bit!
