Rolls that fall between 6-9 are considered moderately successful. They'll catch on that they're down there and start investigating, but they don't know exactly where you and Roosan are.

@RoosanAlright I sort of have an idea on how to work this out. Either we pretend to act like chums going out for a smoke or Victor'll tell you to ditch him, which do you think is the way to go that your guy will play along with.

Ben isn't mad for ditching people, but if you were to light a cigarette then step out and offer the cops one, or something, Ben could hang back behind them. If they try to arrest you, we make sure that doesn't happen, but if you can talk your way out of it, that would be better.

@Leidenschaft Alright, I rolled a 16 for persuasion so I think I am more or less safe in at least convincing them we were not spying, should I make a separate roll for getting them to agree to going to socialize or...?

That's not really what I meant, I wanted Ben to not be obviously in their eyesight as I passed my stealth check. Could've hung behind so it looks less suspicious and they would only know one face.

Still, you seen to have the persuasion roll nailed so it probably doesn't matter.

Was going to make a reply for Victor from the POV of the two officers. You guys can sort out how you want it to go down before I post and see if the officers catch Victor alone or if Ben stays alongside Victor. Ben can successfully hide while Victor almost gets caught. With a persuasion roll of 16 though, there isn't much for him to worry about by getting caught alone, especially if Ben maintains a line of sight on him and gets one of the other guys on speed-dial, just in case.

Dan will be probably headed for Melinda's Emporium, by the way, unless Werner requires him somewhere else.

And a very short exchange over the phone, probably just for Werner to ask if he had any way of running the name Thomas Grant through FBI databases and for Dan to give a heads-up about what he found in David's apartment and where he's headed now. If he doesn't have the resources for that then the team still has Carla Graver as a contact within the PD.

@The Survivor@Big DreadSomehow, the two of you could work out a way for an exchange with the people on David's floor going wrong and having the gang members accosting you two or trying to make a break for it. Rosa could catch some lead during the incident. Feds snooping around wouldn't be taken too kindly by these guys.

Only reason I hesitate to jump to it immediately by myself is because I don't want to ruin anything already in the works between you two that might be salvageable by Dread, if there is anything.

We could do something like that. Having one of the team killed though would put a pretty heavy extra bit of narrative onto the story though. At least, this early it would. Would that be doable? I'll shoot Survivor a PM to discuss the possible solutions.

@Big DreadWell, that's if we wanted her outright killed. She could get nabbed while following a lead on her own, leave her disappearance a mystery. The retrieval of her phone and anything that could compromise the mission will be made an objective from then on.
