"I couldn't be better," she grinned, grabbing her bag to place it inside her room. "Thanks for the brief tour, Grayson," Amy added from inside, turning to face him after placing her bag down. "I guess I'll just come to one of you if I need anything."

With that, she waved in his general direction, then closed the door shut. Amy let out a small sigh as she kept her hand on the door, obviously not to prevent Grayson or anyone else from entering the room, but rather, to finally be able to take a minute for herself without having others around.

I need to contact Arik, she thought, walking away from the door to sink down on the floor in front of her bag. She opened the smaller compartment and started searching for her tablet. No luck. Then she went on to the bigger compartment and searched there. Again, no luck.

"Fuck...where is it?"

Amy then repeated the process again, but this time taking longer to make sure she hadn't accidentally missed it. Regardless of her efforts, though, the tablet wasn't anywhere to be found. Just then, a thought occurred in her mind.

"Mothefuckers!" was all that could be heard from outside Amy's room as she came to the realization that those damn Alliance guards had taken her tablet without her knowledge.

"Not a problem lass, and yes indeed, give us a shout if ya need anything else"

Grayson wandered off to the restroom, deciding to drain his bladder while he was close by. The door slid open and Grayson's eyes were blinded by the sheer glare of the light reflecting off the polished steel... everything. He took a minute to let his eyes adjust, and took a better look around than when he'd poked his head in earlier. Three stalls sat directly across from him, to his left a couple shallow sinks, and beyond them, at the far end of the room, stood another line of stalls, noticeably wider. Through the slightly ajar middle door, he could see a small bench, and at the back of the stall, the sliding glass door of a shower.

'Spacious' He thought 'Definitely takin' a closer look at them later'

Getting back to the task at hand, Grayson made for the rightmost stall, took care of business, and headed back, stopping just long enough to run some water over his hands. As he passed by Amy's room, he heard a muffled shout of 'Motherfuckers!'

He paused. Thinking it best to check in, he tapped lightly on the door.
"Alright there mate?"

Shit...

"Yeah, I’m fine,” Amy shouted, coming up with a quick excuse. She walked towards the door to open it. “I just dropped something heavy on my toe,” she continued in a softer tone of voice, “I was actually looking for my tablet, but can’t seem to find it anywhere. You don’t suppose there is an extra one laying around somewhere this ship, do you?”

Amy leaned against the door as she waited for Grayson’s response. She wondered whether he was already suspicious of her or just happened to be hanging around the area just at the right moment.

"Dunno for sure Amy, saw Stryker heading off with a datapad earlier, but not clear if there are any more on board. I gotta head back upstairs but I could take a look around later for ya"

The case to his MARS rifle in hand, Grayson bid a quick farewell and made the quick trip back upstairs to the armory. As he was getting access through the biometric scan, he noticed a cleverly hidden shutter on the door. Inside at the desk, he found a control panel that allowed him to lock and unlock the door, open the shutter concealing a small window port, presumably to see who was asking to get in. It even had a function that allowed him to lock down the display cases.

"Alliance must be really big on safety first" he observed to no one. Deciding to leave the door unlocked and the shutter open, Grayson set down the rifle case and flipped up the top to find the compact shape of his favorite weapon. The weapon reacted to his touch, morphing in his hands from a misshapen rectangle to it's standard sniper configuration. He fetched some tools from the workbench, took his seat and got to work on cleaning and tuning up the weapon. Later, he'd check the inventory to see if there was a spare graviton-field emitter and try to attach it to the MARS. He'd feel more comfortable using his own weapon than some pre-fab Alliance trash with a fancy toy being all that made it 'mission-essential'

”Stories tell, of a tyrant of Dalentian past. He held the power to overwrite the purpose of an individual’s existence with but a single touch, make them his eternal servants…” Lataniva spoke of some kind of mysterious God-like person of their kind and explained just how their abilities generally worked. Matija listened to her as she leaned back on the war room’s table with crossed arms. She was no psionic but the matters of the mind intrigued her so the other woman was somewhat of an interest to her at the moment.

”So your guy is like- uh- space Hitler? For us at least. Sounds like living in his time sucked. Glad that we’re past the whole ‘your brain is belong to us’ phase. God.” Matija shook her head. ”But as this one guy said to me ‘Ja. You lose the muscles that you don’t use so don’t forget to use your head!’” she said, in a manner that almost mocked someone that wasn’t quite there.

”Aaannywaaay… wanna try and find the bathroom with me or something? I didn’t really pay attention to the orientation earlier and I’m dying to feel water on my skin,” said the siren as she rubbed her palms together only to feel disgust at the dryness of her skin. Then, the door hissed open, instinctively calling her attention.

There was a man. An augmented man. He just nodded at them an briskly left the room without a word. ”odd…” she thought to herself. ”He looked like he just came in to his parents room and saw them… well… at least he seemed handsome. Ish.” Matija giggled to herself before following Lataniva out in search of the washrooms that she had been longing for.

"Huh, what?" Arex replied with a startled retort, looking up in sudden surprise he eyed the man questioning him. Shaking off his distant lost thoughts he brought himself back to the present.
"Oh, nah. No injury, just looking around."
He couldn't help but stare at the mans arm. Even if he managed to look away for brief glimpse, his curious eyes fell back to it.

"Bet ya got a story for that!" he says with a nod to the mechanical arm. Settling in he leant back against the wall beside the doorway and crossed his own arms over his chest as he took in his first proper look around the room.
With a sly smile he asks, "You in the right place for that? I think there was more of a mechanics workshop near the engine room."

Even though Arex had opened up the conversation he could only offer half his attention at best. Arex was still on alert listening and feeling out for the Dalentian's movements. Without her in sight he lost all feeling of her psychic aura.

Lataniva was a little confused at Benny’s sudden turn in attitude about the freshening of air. It wasn’t a matter Lataniva was overly concerned with, but apparently, it was a matter. Hm.

She then nodded mostly about Sandra’s comments about her story and was then going to comment more, when something entered her awareness. The Dalentian paused, her eyes and face turning in that direction. Her psionics were giving her information but she knew not what to make of it.

A man. His signature. His feel. It was Dalentian, yet it was not. Nobody else would feel it unless they had similar powers, but Lataniva certainly would not miss it. Her solid control felt the unstable masses of the foreign man’s Sh’kwarr, returning to her their findings. … It was not a threat. If it wasn’t suddenly going to blow out of proportions, she was safe. His physical body could still be a threat, but psionics-wise she had it covered. That part of the deal was in her favour. However…

… What is he?

It felt Dalentian. Yet, it was warped. Twisted. Foreign. Wrong. She had never felt something alike to this, ever, and she had grown up on her homeworld. She was more experienced and accomplished a Dalentian hunter than most, yet… What? What was he? An immediate guess was that he was an alien race that simply happened to be very similar to a Dalentian, perhaps related in some form of way, but… Lataniva had never heard of any such. Granted, she wasn’t the most studious of individuals, but…

‘...’
Her gaze tracked him as he hurried along. His reaction told that he had most certainly felt her as well. Lataniva flexed her fingers, glaring. She wanted into that mind. She wanted to peel into his brain and find out all the secrets he was hiding. She wanted to unearth the mystery of this foreign object, naturally assuming he knew.

… However, quite honestly, it was none of her concern. Assuming none of them died, she’d have time to investigate the matter. And if they did, it would stop mattering. Lataniva momentarily abandoned the issue, relaxing her fingers and looking away, because she had promised herself to another activity.

‘Yes. Let’s see what methods of self-cleaning are available to us.’
She said to Sandra as the two hurried along to see what they could find.

“Oh, okay. See you later!”

Amy stood by the door for few moments listening for any signs of someone else’s presence in the hallway, but she closed the door once she was met with only silence save for Grayson's departing footsteps. She then walked back to where the mess of her personal belongings lay scattered on the floor. Maybe she should step out and look for the device herself. After all, who knew how long Grayson would take.

Being careful to avoid tripping over the mess, Amy reached for her armor. She felt around for the headpiece, and once she located it, she detached the goggles to put them on. She wasn't necessarily too fond of the device, but they allowed her to see, so she didn't have much room to complain. Amy adjusted the strap so that the goggles were a snug fit on her, and she blinked a couple of times to get used to her sight. She looked around her room to see it for the first time, and her first thought was that it seemed to be a bit cramped. It's not like their crew had a large amount of members, so having multiple beds within such small space was unnecessary. But she didn't make the rules—she merely broke them.

Amy then decided to head outside, a bit curious as to what the rest of the ship looked like.

"Huh, what?" The cyborg said in a very surprised manner. He looked at Benny for a bit before shaking his head and continuing. "Oh, nah. No injury, just looking around." He said. Benny assumed that he had been scanned or analyzed by the guy in the few moments the man had looked at him.

"Alrigh' Jus' figured someone like you wouldn' come around here unless you had an augment malfunction or somethin'" Benny replied dryly as he finished up his repairs to Skelly. He stretched his bionic arm out a bit and flexed the fingers to ensure they still responded properly to his brain's commands.

"Bet ya got a story for that!" The man started as he leaned against the med-bay wall. "You in the right place for that? I think there was more of a mechanics workshop near the engine room." The man continued.

"Nah. I don' need that much tools for fixin' Ol' Skelly up since I did most o' the repairs earlier. I jus' wanted to be near some painkillers in case I started getting some bad neural feedback from 'em. It tends to happen whenever I get 'em reinstalled so I figured it was better safe then sorry." Benny replied

"As for the story... Yeah you could say that. Ever heard of the heist on the ExoCalibur Corporation main factory in the Aeolus System? Me and a few mates I used to run with did that. Started out easy enough but turned into a real shitstorm about halfway through. We figured tha' someone tipped 'em off but we were too busy tryin' ta' survive to think too hard about it. An explosion in the middle o' that mess virtually killed ma' left arm so I had an old friend glue Ol' Skelly onto me as a replacement after we got away. We nevar did find out who sold us out..." Benny narrated. He paused for a moment.

"But if I ever do figure it out and they're still alive, I'd love to thank them for lettin' me meet Ol' Skelly because of what they did. Y'know... Before I strap a timebomb to their chest and kick 'em out the airlock and leave them to wonder if the explosion or suffocation will kill them first." Benny finished as he looked up at the man with a smile.

"Ach! Forgot me manners again. Name's Benny Boomer. And you are...?" He quickly added extending his bionic arm out for a handshake. He would've used his normal arm for it but he wasn't sure if this man could inadvertently crush his bones from squeezing a bit too hard.

'Verdan Iscariot' The name was on the tip of Arex's tongue and he nearly blurted it out instead of his own. Benny's story of his exploits triggered cache's of stored information Arex wasn't even aware he acquired. The ExoCalibur heist was notoriously impossible and profitable, therefore, many different agencies and organisations had since investigated it. Theories and conspiracies flooded the information matrix surrounding the true story of the heist.
Arex felt it as a hunch, unaware of the hidden subconscious processing and calculations that ran through his cybernetic implants. It put Benny's good mate and bio-mechanist at an 87% likelihood of being the betrayer. 23% higher than any other and most probable and likely recipient of the vast fortune offered from ExoCalibur's competition for the destruction.

"Arex" he simply replies after a short hesitant pause. No reason to confuse or complicate things by saying stuff that he didn't yet understand himself. He simply nodded along as if sharing an understanding of Benny's pent up wrath.

"Well Benny, to get that chance we are gonna have to run a few little errands for our friends of this fine ship first. Maybe you should thank them for their hospitality before you thank the guy who gave you that." He nods to skelly.
"I'm gonna rest up before we arrive but if you ever want me to look over that arm of yours just let me know. As long as you can do something for me." Arex says as he steps out into the door way and looks back. "Promise that you won't thank me for my work." he chuckles as he walks off to his room. A serious migraine suddenly taking hold of his head and echoing through out his skull.

8 HOURS LATER

@Dark Light@PlatinumSkink@mackielars@Rultaos@Xandrya@BKburke@Tickout @Banana(<You might not be back yet, but I'm tagging you anyway)

After Stryker and Platform 772 arrived at his quarters, he'd set the robot up with a complete download of the briefing recordings, tactical info, and maps of the Helsin Station. It was going to take a couple hours, so he tinkered with the plan a little more, taking the new squad of robots into account, and then decided to grab a few hours rest, until it was time to brief the squad.

He woke to a light flashing on his private terminal. A message from the Alliance. He slid out of bed and into his chair to open the encrypted video.

To Stryker's surprise, Dawson appeared and began to mutter to himself.
"Can't believe I have to deal with this shit... fucking assignment. Oh" He must've realized the vid-recorder was running, he sat up and began to speak in a much more official tone "Alliance Command to Revenant Captain. Miss me yet Stryker? Right well, we've got a new recruit for ya. Currently awaiting pickup on Phoebe Station in the Eros Beta System. Only a short detour so grab them on the way. Dossier attached. Command out"

"Great" Stryker muttered to himself as he sat back to skim down the new recruit's skills ledger. He made a snap judgment of where they'd fit in his plan. Turning to his datapad, he swiped at the screen to make the slight changes, then checked in on Platform 772's download, which was at 99%. The bot would fully reactivate in a few moments once the download was complete. The datapad also had a function that allowed him to broadcast messages over the ship's PA without the need to be near a command console. He tapped in to it and spoke.

"All crew report to the War Room. All crew to the War Room"
Another tap and he isolated his announcements to the intercom in the cockpit.
"Sepitan, stay at your post. We need to make a detour to Eros Beta, Phoebe Station, for pickup. I'll leave this channel open so you can listen in"
Platform 772 had reactivated. As Stryker stood he motioned for the bot to follow him out of the cabin.
"Distribute the data to the other Platforms, then standby for new orders" he said as they walked down the hall and into the War Room.

He was all set up when the rest of the crew arrived.
"First things first, we're making a quick detour. Alliance has someone on standby for pickup, they want him onboard now. As for the plan, I've decided on a few adjustments. We're still mobilizing both shuttles. A boarding party plus this fleet of attack drones in shuttle 1, Grayson in the second. As per the original plan, he'll disable their IFF sensors and fall in for insertion. We'll try the Alliance's way of gaining access to their cargo bay, if that fails, we'll have a team back here at the ship made up of Belov, Sammn, the pilot and myself to begin engagement with our weapon systems, we'll cause a diversion and also blast a hole in the cargo bay doors so you can all get in. SAL will pilot Grayson's shuttle. One of the drones will pilot the other"

A hologram of the mining station came up.

"Like any good station, the Helsin fcility has a layer of outer defenses, but we have the advantage of more powerful weapons with greater range. The more immediate concern is the Planet Cracker. Helsin's got some new tech that allow them to angle their mining lasers without the need to totally re-orient the station. So while you're all clearing out the upper levels, the fire team on the ship will be mounting an assault against the lower half of the station, with enough structural damage, we may be able to totally cripple the mining laser, and remove their greatest threat against us."

"The plan goes one of two ways for the rest of you. If the station is a Federation outpost hidden in plain sight, like the Alliance presumes, you engage immediately and leave no survivors. Move as a sole unit and clear out the Operations Deck and Corporate Areas room by room. Gather intel if you can, then once the station's cleared, we frag it, and slip out of the system. If it is just a mining station with minimal security... The order of leave no survivors stands, but use the advantage of a helpless crew to gather intel. Find out why they're out here, then waste 'em, in full pirate fashion, leave them with some survivors instead of wasting them indiscriminately. Loot for anything useful, then jump aboard the shuttles and come back. Before we leave the system, we'll frag it with the main cannon, leaving just enough evidence for the news cycle to pick up on. Any questions?"

His datapad lit up with a notification from Tibulus that they were pulling in to Phoebe.
"Hold on for a minute, we're docking" there was a soft jolt as the Revenant entered the station's atmo field and ground to a halt at a spacedock. The ship rumbled as a bridge reached out from the station to link into the ship's docking bay.
"Grayson, go grab the new guy downstairs, tell him to find a room, then drag him up here."

The assassin headed off with a nod. A few seconds passed and Tibulus was signalling again. The docking bridge had retracted and they were being told to move along. The engines roared back to life and there was another quick jolt as they exited atmo and continued on their way.

"So where were we? Oh yeah questions"

"Pilots Log.
Something... something... what day was it?
Ah fuck it what am I even doing with this dumb monologue?"

Tibulus was screwing around in his mind while he was flying the ship. It had an autopilot, but the pilot didn't really care to use it unless he had to go and do something else. He had the radio channel beside his pilots chair as he drove, and he listened as he piloted the ship through the expanse of space. For the time being, Sepitan was silent for the majority of the mission, and he really couldn't explain why he was so silent, but then the details of the mission were brought up to the crew of the Revenant, and something about the mission seemed a bit too macabre for the tastes of Tibulus. Leaving no survivors was ok, and he understood why because leaving people alive would result in terrible loose ends and such for the mission, but as he thought, no survivors was not limited to children.

Now, he may not care if someone killed a guard or a mercenary, as they were hired hands for protection, but killing a kid? That was just fucked up, even for the walking skeleton smoking and piloting a spaceship. The skeleton held his cigar in a free hand, his other on the wheel, and he spoke up to ask his question over the channel. "Question. I may not be going on this mission and doing the dirty work, but does 'no survivors' extend to kids? I don't mean to sound like a pansy, but they ARE kids after all."

Amy was biting her bottom lip out of nervous habit. She hadn't been able to communicate with her father for who knows how long, and it was then that it finally clicked: her father's last known location was in that very same station the Alliance was sending them to infiltrate. Amy didn't know what business he had there, but she sure hoped that he was gone by the time they arrived.

"No questions," she replied in a low voice, her mind partially distracted with the very real possibility that her father might be killed by one of the members of her crew if she wasn't able to find him first.

The thought made Amy physically ill. She could only guess what she looked like as she excused herself from the War Room to head to the nearest restroom. She rushed out of her seat to head outside as fast as she could. Precious seconds were ticking away as she reached the elevator, then the armory, followed by the restroom. She arrived just in time as she lowered herself over the toilet to vomit, not bothering to close the door behind her.

So, during this time, Lataniva had gotten herself showered, ensured that she had her armor and weapons ready for combat, and otherwise ensured that she knew how the ship looked. If nobody stopped her, she'd likely have walked in about everywhere, because she had no sense of personal areas, with perhaps the exception of the bathroom when someone else was in it.

She listened later at the rundown that was given. She nodded. She knew her role. Then, the mushroom skeleton spoke out about if children was to be included in the "no survivors" thing. The question stood out to Lataniva as odd.

@Banana
‘I do not believe there were any exceptions included in our orders.’
Lataniva spoke towards him.
‘... But do not worry. If you are uncomfortable with the thought, it might please you to know that I am not.’
She said, turning to look back at the hologram.
‘It is not our concern if they picked the worst imaginable day for bring-your-child-to-work day.’
She said in a bit of a darker tone, glaring at the supposed mine...

The Revenant loomed in front of them, cutting an intimidating figure that made Maxi shiver a bit. So this was where he was being sent off to. A ship filled to the brim with other criminals, probably with worse tempers and stronger combat abilities than him. It wasn’t a pleasant thought to think about. He had stopped walking for a second when the ship came into view, awestruck by its size, but was sent back into motion with a rather harsh shove from one of his escorts. Two were on either side of him, making sure he didn’t try to scuttle off, and a third was holding his medic cube. He had tried to explain that the bot had no offensive abilities, but it didn’t look as if they were willing to take the risk.

Maxi followed the guards prompts to continue down the path in front of him with no resistance. The ship grew closer and closer with every step, and with it the new life he’d be thrown into. It was nerve wracking for sure; he’d be a very tiny dude surrounded by lots of taller dudes that may or not be mentally unstable. Gah, working in his lab was far simpler. No distractions, no issues, nothing but isolation and learning. But now, now he would have to tread lightly with every comment he made.

A particularly rough shove from one of the guards made Maxi turn his head, a passive glare on his face. “Jeez, I’m walking, Im walking. No need to get tangled in a rut because you have to escort me instead of going on vacation with your kids”. His smart remark earned him another shove, and he chose not to snap back in case whatever came next was more violent. He turned to face forward again for the rest of the walk to the ship, only casting glares and sticking his tongue out when the guards weren’t looking directly at him.

They reached the docking bay very quickly, and Maxi was quickly brought inside. The guards released him along with his robot, and promptly closed the door behind them on the way out. Maxi hadn’t made an attempt to escape- he didn’t have a good chance getting out of this place. His robot, once released, floated beside him and remained silent. He tapped it a few times. “Yo, Cubey cube? You still working in there, or are you just a floating paperweight now that can’t do its job?”. After a few seconds the cube reoriented itself, beeping a few times in recalibration. He let a grin cross his face; his little bot being broken this early in would have been awful.

His attention went to the door leading into the ship as a man came in. A man much taller than Maxi, and one that looked far stronger, too. A great first encounter. He decided to try being somewhat friendly and see where it got him. He straightened himself out, put his hands in his coat pocket and grinned. “Hello hello! I’m Maxi Churrox, the new crewmate! I specialize in medical sciences and chemical biologies. It’s a pleasure to meet you!”. He wondered just how serious he’d be taken with a peppy attitude such as that. But then again, smiling and seeming like the kindest person was the best way to not get beat up. Right?

Arex did his thing and played the part of a good little mercenary. Having been woken from his sleep he attended the briefing to quietly and attentively sit through the details, although more interested in the rest of his crew mates than the hologram. There were some he had still not properly met and of course the Dalentian. Seeing her across the room wasn't as bad as last time but her presence for some reason still made him a little uneasy.

Suddenly the blind girl darted from the room. Her reasons somewhat evident on her face, Arex had been observing the growing nausea since it started. Surely no one here held any issues with killing. Either concern or curiosity, Arex soon excused himself shortly after.

A moment later his heavy footsteps approach behind the blind girl, they detoured towards the sinks where the tap runs for a short second before he comes to stand behind her. Crouching down he gently speaks.
"Amy, right? It's Arex here."
He warns as he first taps her shoulder then softly moves her hair behind her ears.
"Well that was unexpected, do you need to go to the med bay or something?"
He asks casually as he places a warm damp cloth into her hand.

"Grayson" he said in response to the small man "Pleasure's all mine. We have't got time for a full Q&A so just grab your stuff and follow me. The bloke in charge wants me to get you set up with a room, then it's right upstairs for a briefing. Come along"

He led the way through the common area towards the crew quarters, chatting all the way "Takes a little gettin' used to, the layout of the place, there's little floor plans stuck up near the elevator and the stairs, and in the elevator itself. Won't be able to give ya a full tour or anything, but they'll help a bit. Right back through here we got the quarters. Now if I'm remembering right- those three doors on the right are free, rooms 6, 10 an 12, and on the left side here we got rooms 9 and 11 open, just chuck your gear into one of 'em and we'll be on our way. Oh and the two doors next to each other right at the end of the hall are the toilets. Gents is through the left door, and that'll be your tour for now"

He stepped back out of the way to let Maxi decide on a room, just as he was going to lean against the door to his own room, his eyes caught a glimpse of a very distinct looking handle sticking out of one of Maxi's holsters.
"Hang on a minute mate. That blaster you got there, is it a TX-2 Series? Pass it here"

"I'm gonna rest up before we arrive but if you ever want me to look over that arm of yours just let me know. As long as you can do something for me... Promise that you won't thank me for my work." Arex said in reply as their conversation concluded.

"Heh, no worries, mate. I only save those thank you's for special individuals" Benny said in reply as he got up from the bed he was on and put his shirt back on. He had to head back to his room and the lab in order to prepare for the upcoming mission. Can't count on those Alliance jackasses having provided me with all of my old explosives, better get cracking on a few replacements... He thought as he left for the labs.

Revenant: War Room. 8 hours later

Benny stared at the hologram of the mining station when the briefing began. The layout was similar to the planetside mining platform he once raided belonging to the same corporation, but it was just different enough to warrant caution as they proceeded through it. He listened to Stryker's briefing as the uses of the different gear he had prepared in the hours prior ran through his mind. Trip mines would be useless as they would be running through the ship instead of holding positions. An acid bomb or two might be of use in case they came across a reinforced barrier. Sleep gas would be useless if they had to kill them all anyway. Better to bring frags and incendiaries to flush out anyone hiding behind cover. A cluster grenade or two would wreak havoc on unarmored civilians in large groups. As for the number of highly-explosive remote charges he was going to bring...

Benny turned towards Stryker as he finished briefing them on their mission and objectives. He was about to ask something but their resident skeletal pilot asked first.

"Question. I may not be going on this mission and doing the dirty work, but does 'no survivors' extend to kids? I don't mean to sound like a pansy, but they ARE kids after all." Tibulus asked.

Before Stryker could even respond, Lataniva beat him to it. The Dalentian turned towards Tibulus before speaking. "I do not believe there were any exceptions included in our orders... But do not worry. If you are uncomfortable with the thought, it might please you to know that I am not." She started, before her voice took on a more grim tone as she continued. "It is not our concern if they picked the worst imaginable day for bring-your-child-to-work day." She said as she continued studying the hologram.

"Heh, well it IS a mining facility. If not, then it's a Federation outpost. Eitha' way, there's little chance of us finding any children there at all, unless it turns out to actually be some kinda' refugee camp... In which case I'd probly ask if our previous orders still stand. Though I doubt it will happen." Benny said in response.

In the midst of this, their blind crewmate Amy suddenly excused herself from the War Room, leaving in a hurry. This caused a short break in the conversation, after which Benny decided to ask his question.

"Soo... Captain. Which team do ya' need me and Skelly for? Are we going ta' hit the security offices on the upper levels to screw with their systems? Or do ya' need us on demolition duty against that planet-cracker? I need to know how many explosives I gotta lug around before I get dropped into this impendin' clusterfuck." He asked, turning towards Stryker.

A meeting already? He was there for a grand total of roughly twenty or thirty seconds and there was already some sort of mission going on. What great timing. The Alliance couldn’t wait to let him join the crew until after this mission. “Aight, aight. Godspeed, then.” he responded, not letting the grin drop from his face. At least this guy seemed sociable and nice. Perhaps things wouldn’t be so bad after all.

He kept quiet as he allowed himself to be led around the ship, looking around as the two walked and listening to everything his new crewmate was saying. He sure liked to talk. Maxi debated asking if there was a lab of sorts on ship, but looking at the fact that they were supposed to be at a meeting, he decided against. He could find it later on using the maps. The two came to a stop at two rows of doors, and Maxi was told to pick a room. 6, 9, 10, 11, and 12 were open. He thought for a second before mentally shrugging and picking a room at random. 9 would do.

After he made his choice, Maxi opened the door to room 9 and quickly dropped his stuff on the floor. There wasn’t much; some spare clothes and a bunch of basic medical equipment he was allowed to keep. Everything else he was was well gone and out of his reach. Oh well, he could work with what he had. With his bag set down and room claimed as his own, he left the room and returned to Grayson. He was ready to be taken to the meeting to get a summary of what was going on, but instead he was asked a question about his weapon. “This thing? Yeah, I think so. It’s a little old, but it still works”. He took the blaster out of the holster and handed it to Grayson. “What about it?”

The Q&A session was interrupted by Amy suddenly bursting out of the War Room, a few seconds later, Arex slipped off as well. He waited just long enough for the conversation and shock of the moment to die down before reasserting control.
"Like Benjamin said, it's very unlikely that we'll find any families. So the order stands" Stryker said, he hadn't even considered that possibility, and the fact that the conversation hadn't made him physically sick made him want to puke, was this who he was now? Had he really fallen this far? He put those thoughts aside to get back to the briefing.

"I'm not anticipating needed any one of you to go any lower into the station than the cargo bay you'll arrive at. The ship's weapons should be enough to take out the lasers. I suppose it'd be better safe than sorry, if you can fit some form of demolition charges in your loadout, I'd say take them along just in case, but assume you'll be sticking with the rest of the boarding party, clearing out the upper levels"

"It's completely useless" Grayson growled as he turned the weapon over in his hands "I get it, it was cheap and it's easy to use, but that's the thing, it's cheap. Very subpar parts used in its construction. I'm surprised it hasn't completely melted down yet, this far outdated, the main energy cell is prone to shittin' itself, and the chance of catastrophic failure gets higher the longer it's used. You're not using this, I'm sure I've got at least a couple TX-5's somewhere in the armory. Listen, let's get upstairs, after the meeting, you're comin' with me to get properly outfitted. What other kind of weapons you got on you mate? Hand 'em over"
He started towards the stairs, keeping a hand ready to take Maxi's next weapon.
