Also, could you put up a sort of a list of vocabulary necessary for a noob in this post-apocalypse? Like what the remains of Earth are called nowadays, possible currency (unless it all runs on a barter system), and general stuff like that. Sorry to ask so many questions! Thank you! ^_^'

Heyo! Sorry to backseat GM, but I've been around the block with Echo running this plot a few times.

Most of the Wasteland is based on a barter system. Goods/services/things that may be of value. Mercs and faction-dwellers may be paid in Erubescan crowns/pieces, or Liberty credits, but one currency is no good in the other nation. The currency for both is mostly digital in nature.

The areas not occupied by either faction has no name formally, but is sometimes called "The Waste," "The Ash," "The Ashlands," or any number of things. It isn't actually all ashes, but some areas more leveled by conflict are prone to dust storms, in addition to the general ash that lingers in abandoned or destroyed settlements. People who live out there are also called any number of things, from vagabonds to wanderers, though "ashrat" is a common derogatory one.

The two factions are pretty big, and take up wide swaths of land. People from Liberty are Libertians, and people from Erubesco are Erubescans. There are, of course, any number of slang or slanderous versions of these titles.

I probably missed stuff. Lemme know what I forgot. Probably a lot.

Some Vocabulary

The Ash/Ashland: Any swath of territory outside of faction bounds.
Ashlander: One who lives in the Ash.
Ashrat: Derogatory term for an Ashlander.
Crown: The Erubescan crown- A mostly digitized form of currency; only valid within Erubesco and Erubescan trade posts. It is larger than a piece.
Erubescan: A citizen of Erubesco.
Faction: One of the two sides of the fight. Most people living in Liberty tend to refer to it as a "state" or "nation," while most Erubescans call their home a "kingdom."
Libertian: A citizen of Liberty.
Libertian Credit: A wholly digitized currency; only valid within Liberty and Libertian trade posts.
Mercenary/Merc: One who does freelance work in the Ash for one faction or the other. Some may work for both, but double dipping is risky business.
Piece: The smaller denomination of Erubescan currency.
Unsettled Territory: Formal name for the Ash.
Wasteland/Wastes: See "Ash" above.

Description: Montana stands at 5'10, built with compact, functional muscle. His iris is indistinguishable from the pupil. His hair is medium length, black, and always swept behind the ears.

Wears a European cut suit, covered by a grey, form fitting overcoat. Favours a wide brimmed hat.

His face remains youthful despite his advanced age, as does his body, due to the nature of his gift. Perhaps those of a keener eye could discern his age by the look that lingers in his eyes.

Personality: Distant, subdued, with moments of keen interest. Perhaps a bit whimsical in a nostalgic way


Skills: Talented in Martial Arts and Weapons training, with experience that spans over a century.

Experience in a variety of combat, espionage, and tactical situations.

Very perceptive, relying on logic and deduction.

None of this has mattered for quite some time.

Eddie Nine Lives

Full Name: Edwina May Bishop

Nicknames/Aliases: Eddie, Eddie Nine Lives, The Cowboy, The Horseman, The Drifter, The Vagabond, The Last Daughter of the Human Race, Subject 5930.

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Gifts: Her Humanity and her vast amount of skills, but nothing supernatural.

Loyalty: Herself and Gwen, the possible remnants of humanity, and most Wanderers. Though she is very strictly Anti-Erubesco, she still harbors disdainful feelings towards Liberty.

Description: No one has really determined if the infamous Eddie Nine Lives is a man or a woman. In fact, most people know next to nothing about the mysterious traveler, and Eddie prefers it that way. As such, she tends to wear rather concealing attire. On her upper body, she wears a loose, worn, button up shirt that was once white, but has become a grungy brown due to the grime of the wasteland. Over it, she wears a brown leather vest, which has also been beaten down by time. Over both of them, she wears a bandolier for her ammunition, with a loop on the back she uses to sheath her double-edged sword. On her forearms, she wears two leather wrist guards, with her stop sign shield affixed to the left one. She also wears jeans, which have been kept in pretty good shapes due to the chaps she wears over them. To hold them up, she has an old leather belt, with an antique belt buckle of a bronze colored star surrounded by elegant designs. On the right side of her belt is a leather holster to keep her six shooter. On her shoulders, she wears a shawl, which she uses to cover up the bottom half of her face. She also wears a cloak, which she often uses to cover up the rest of her more recognizable clothing. Finally, she wears a light brown cowboy hat, which she hides her hair in.

However, there is a person underneath that disguise. If anyone manages to get her to show her face, they will see one that has been aged by time and stress, giving her the appearance of an older woman than she is. They'll see her rough skin, tanned by a life working in the sun. They'll see her brown eyes and the seemingly permanent expression of anger and sadness that sits upon her face. They'll see her. Which is what she is afraid of.

Personality: When you've been through the kind of things Eddie has been through, it's nearly impossible to be a happy person. But, then again, it's hard to be happy when you're anywhere on the remains of the planet once known as Earth. But it's an even bigger challenge for a lone nomad. Due to her general lack of contact with other people, she's a fairly quiet woman, and only talks when it's necessary, or when she's alone with Gwen. But when she does talk to other people, she usually winds up saying the wrong thing due to her absent social skills, often resulting in coming across as rude or cold. But despite her less than friendly exterior, Eddie is a good person, who will help the weak and innocent without question.

Skills:
-Eddie is extremely skilled in the art of sharp shooting. While she prefers to use her antique six-shooter, she is capable of using most firearms with high speed and precision.
-Eddie is well-trained in many forms of combat, including hand-to-hand. However, she prefers to, in close range, use her expertise with her sword and shield.
-Eddie is very clever, an ability that is very useful in the wasteland.
-Eddie knows how to set up all kinds of traps, but is especially well-versed in traps using rope.
-Due to one of her main sources of income, scavenging, Eddie is able to appraise items one might consider junk quite accurately.
-Eddie knows the basics of mechanics, so she's able to fix certain machines, and build simpler ones.
-Eddie is fairly good at tracing and tracking, due to her business as a bounty hunter and the necessity of hunting in the wasteland.
-Eddie has, in the past, been taught how to use a forge.
-Eddie has a strong digestive system due to her less than savory diet. Connected to this skill, Eddie knows what parts of the human body one can eat without becoming sick.
-Eddie has a vast amount of skills in the departments of athletics and acrobatics.

Weaknesses:
-Eddie's biggest weakness is that she's a good person. She can easily be lured into a trap if she believes someone is in trouble.
-Eddie isn't exactly great at keeping her cool. She's not exactly a hothead, but it's not rare for her to become angry.
-Eddie is on a quest to completely wipe out the Erubesco, a quest that could very plausibly end up leading her to her grave.
-Eddie is on Erubesco's Wanted List twice: Once as the notorious bounty hunter Eddie Nine Lives, but also as the runaway Subject 5930.
-Eddie is only human, meaning that not only does she not have any Gift, but it also means that if word gets out that she's a human, she'll be hunted down.

Brief History: The first question to ask about Eddie's past is how exactly she exists. Where was the Bishop family when the rest of their race perished? It's a good question, but it's also one that's difficult to answer. During the course of the infamous war between humans and Gifted, Eddie's great grandparents, along with a number of family friends they invited to come wait out the apocalypse, hid in their small, isolated, countryside ranch, which, by some miracle, remained untouched by the raging war. And it remained untouched even after the war was won. However, about ten years ago, it was touched, and the touch was hostile. It was the touch of the Erubesco faction, come destroy the final shreds of humanities. The humans fought their hardest, but, in the end, their home-forged blades and antique firearms were unable to put up a fight against the powers and the state of the art weaponry supplied to the faction's soldiers. However, they did not kill all of the humans. They took the youngest one, a thirteen year old girl, to on of the many Erubescan labs. Not that the soldiers cared, but this girl's name was Edwina.

In the months that followed, Edwina was put through scarring tests. She was locked up in freezers to determine how long a human could last in harsh conditions, they held her underwater to see how long she could last without air, at times she was fed the bare minimum to see what the effects might be. It was all hell. But she only stayed there for seven months. One morning, while Edwina was being transferred from her "room" (it was more of a cell than anything) to one of the testing areas, the guards who were escorting her were called to deal with some escaped experiment. The two of them, along with Edwina, ran around the complex until they came across a white winged horse on the top floor, running for a window. It probably would have died then and there, for the guards had the rifle sights directly on it. However Edwina managed to steal one of the guards' sidearm and shot them, before jumping on the back of her fellow subject just as it shattered the glass and took to the sky. And that was the beginning of Eddie and Gwen, the Ashlanders.

As it turned out, the other test subject, or Gwen, as she preferred to be called, was a horse who had been given the abilities of flight and chameleon-esque camouflage, as well as increased intelligence and a lengthened lifespan. Almost immediately after the two had escaped, Eddie requested that they go back to her ranch. When they arrived, Eddie discovered, to her dismay, that the Erubescan soldiers had completely destroyed her home, apparently burning it to the ground. But that wasn't why Eddie had returned. Her parents had always told her that if there was ever an emergency, there was a stash of food, water, and weaponry buried under a certain tree near their home. She dug where she was told to dig, and found the resources she was promised: food, water, a double-edged sword, and her trusty six-shooter. The latter two she has kept to this day.

As the years past, Edwina became Eddie, and started to do odd jobs in order to get what she needed. For a while, her main source of work was scavenging. She knew what junk might be considered treasure to the proper person. But as time went on, Eddie picked up another job: bounty hunting. But she didn't go after the people on any of the official watch lists of either faction. No, she would only work for other Ashlanders. If someone was causing someone else trouble in the Ashlands, then Eddie, for the proper price, would deal with them, in one way or another. Her success in this business as made her somewhat famous, or infamous, depending on how you look at it. But really, this business is just a means to an end. Her real goal, she's decided, is to completely eliminate the Erubescan faction.

Other:
-Gwen has been modified with the modifications of flight, camouflage, intelligence, lengthened lifespan, and the digestive system of an omnivore, meaning she can eat meat.
-Due to an overall lack of food in the Wasteland, Eddie has learned how to safely eat other human beings, but only does so if she has already killed them for some other reason. She believes leaving corpses to rot is a waste.
-Due to her work, it is very possible that your guys's characters have heard of her.
-Hey, so I haven't come up with a good theme song for Eddie, and I'm taking suggestions! So go ahead and throw songs my way! ^_^

Alright, here is the infamous Eddie Nine Lives! I just got sick, which impaired my writing ability, but luckily, since it's a fairly recent sickness, it only affected the Bio section and the Other section! ^_^

You know, it's funny, that was actually my original plan for her theme song, but after listening to all the lyrics, I decided that, while it had western outlaw symbolism, it's mainly meant to be a song about a musician. It's not too big of a deal, and if I don't get anything better, I'll definitely go for it, but I want to see what else people might suggest. But thank you for the suggestion! ^_^
