[IC] Pokemon Roleplay - Welcome to Casmer!

Today is the day. Three kids living in the Casmer region, in the sleepy town of Alkiva, are going to begin their pokemon journeys. They are supposed to meet Professor Pine at his lab today to get their first Pokemon. The professor patiently sits at his lab table, awaiting the children.

It was a beautiful day in Alkiva; perfect weather for young children to be outside and playing, but of course, Alex thought otherwise. He practically lived in his bedroom, which was a part-time machine shop where he worked on his various projects. The small owl animatronic that flew around his room chirped, and Alex checked the time on his watch. It was nearly time to visit the Professor at his lab. Grabbing his sweater off his bed and snatching the owl out of the air, he hurried out of the room, not even bothering to say goodbye to his parents; there was time for that later.

It wasn't long before the lab came into view. Only pausing to wipe some dirt from his sleeve, Alex rang the doorbell.

[MinnieKing]

Upon hearing the "ding dong," of the doorbell, Alex hears an "oh!" from inside. A few moments pass, and the sound of footsteps come from the other side of the door. It opens, and Professor Pine stands there. He's a rather old man, maybe seventy, with white combover hair and a green t-shirt, his complete with sandals and sweatpants.

"Ah, you must be Alex, yes? One of the children getting a pokemon today."

[Nyctophilia]

"Yes, that's me! Am I early?"

[MinnieKing]

"Yes, but that's only to be expected. After all, getting your first pokemon is a very exciting experience. Please come inside, I have five pokemon for you to choose from." The professor says, stepping aside.

[Nyctophilia]

Alex shuffles past the professor, looking around the lab as he walks inside.

[MinnieKing]

The lab has a green and white color scheme, the wallpapers art resembling tree branches. A glass table sits at the end of the lab, and five pokeballs sit at the table. Each is labelled.

"LARVESTA"
"BUDEW"
"POLIWAG"
"ELEKID"
"RIOLU"

[Nyctophilia]

Unable to contain his excitement, Alex hastily plucks the pokeball containing Riolu from the table. It shudders in his hand, and the pokeball bursts open. Accompanied by a bright white light, a Riolu crouches in front of him, staring at Alex with a fierce look.

[MinnieKing]

The professor sets down five pokeballs and a pokedex for Alex on the table.

[Nyctophilia]

Alex clips the pokeballs onto his belt and regards the pokedex with a professional eye.

"This is a really magnificent machine, Professor."

[MinnieKing]

"Why thank you. I made it myself. It's a pokedex, a device which will record data on pokemon upon encountering them."

[Nyctophilia]

"Do I have to catch them for full data?"

[MinnieKing]

"No. With other pokedexes, that would be the case, but the ones i've created don't require that"

[Nyctophilia]

OOC: Thank God. That's the worst part about Pokedexs. I never bottphered with trying to catch every Pokemon.

IC: "That's really amazing. Thanks a lot!" Returning Riolu to his pokeball, Alex leaves the lab and returns home. He shows his parents his new Pokemon (It's so cute!) and then heads up to his room. He packs a few tools into his bag before heading back downstairs and out the door.

[MinnieKing]

OOC: Yep, it's a pain in the ass to catch every pokemon.

IC: Upon leaving his house, he is appeoached by a blonde kid. He looks older then Alex, but not by much.
"Hey, aren't you also one of the kids who are getting a pokemon today? Or have you already gotten yours?"

[Nyctophilia]

"I already got mine. Have you?"

[MinnieKing]

"Yep, I just got mine! What did you get?"

[Nyctophilia]

"A Riolu. You?"

[MinnieKing]

"I chose Larvesta."

[Nyctophilia]

"I never like bug types much, but that's cool. I'm off to become the greatest Inventor in the world, how about you?
