The ACUs aren't dirty, faded maybe. The IBA is what looked the worst.

I tried to scrub it when I got it, I spent a few hours on the bastard and it wouldn't fucking clean. It looked allot better though.

If you're referring to my uniform, watch your mouth. That uniform has seen months of time in the desert on my first deployment.

Try different methods other than soap and water.
Took me three weeks of two hour polishing a week to get my uniform up to Core Drill standard. A tad of elbow grease and some determination goes a long way. Though, I doubt anyone's bothered about drill team standard uniform.

I'd clean my IBA more, but I turned it into CIF already. I got my PCs which were getting rather nasty cleaned by soaking them in 5 dollars of detergent.

Did the same on my uniform and got it clean. Though it isn't all that economical.

People don't see your last name when they look at the uniform, they look at the 'US Army' nametape. I've gone an entire day without my last name and no one said anything, someone else when a few minutes without their US Army and shit quickly hit the fan.

It was always just

"Pockets." No names, just "pockets." Oh and "up!" For whenever we were caught leaning.

As a cadet, our instructors seemed to be generally retired MPs and (or at least in my case) old instructors themselves. Even in civilian clothes when it was cold outside it was like: "POCKETS!"

Or when someone hadn't shaved that day and had some fuzz, he'd go in and scream something about Fu Manchu.

I would just like to state that after re-evaluating my photo, my hand was not in my pocket but on my belt, which is an authorized alternative. I'll have a kick ass photo to post in a couple of days after my buddy takes it off his camera for me.
