You might as well admit that running for it might be your best bet for surviving
You stop for a moment to consider this.
Let me guess, you want me to leave now without telling anyone
Yes, you have to do it alone, and quickly
Well, even if I do go for it, I'll need to grab my weapon if I'm going to have any chance of making it at all
Some kind of car would help too
You enter the Media Center and see Matt with someone.
Welp, I hope you have a contingency plan that doesn't involve killing anyone
Stall while I work on one
Of all the things to have heard

[Irene]

Once you finish with the announcement you raid the supply closet again. Since I'm here, might as well stock up. You stuff many rolls of duct tape into your backpack, a pair of scissors, handful of pens, two notepads, assorted colors of square post-its, and several meter sticks. If I could make a scythe, that'd be pretty cool. Except I can't even wield one. You zip up your backpack in a way to allow the meter sticks to poke out from the top of the bag and put it on. As you make your way to the exit, Mrs. Allen calls out to you, "Irene! You shouldn't go back outside! It's too dangerous!"
You turn around with a sympathetic expression, "I have to. Someone has to deal with the zombies before it gets out of hand. Everyone else should stay here and continue trying to get help from outside. That's our best chance for everyone's survival here. And besides, I've done this much practically unscathed."
"Stay safe. I wish you the best of luck. Oh yeah, don't forget to call your parents to let them know you're alive," Mrs. Allen concedes.
Ohhhhh snap. I forgot about them. Well crap. My mother is going to be worried...as an understatement. "Thanks, I'll try my best. And I'll go do that once I'm in the media center," you reply.

You exit the front office and spot several zombies almost plastered to the front office's windows on the other side. You inch forward stealthily and they seem to ignore your presence. Treading carefully, you grip your sword with two hands and swing ferociously at the zombie's neck from behind. Although it isn't fully decapitated, it slumps to the ground. Must be because I separated the spinal cord from the brain. Works for me. The two other zombies react to the death of their fallen comrades and start rushing at you. You clumsily dodge one, since you were not used to the added weight, and trip the second. The zombie sprawls onto its side and you stab it through the ear. The first zombie turns around and charges at you. You sidestep and bash the zombie over the head with your shield when it flies by you, knocking it to the ground. Putting your foot on the struggling zombie, you stab it several times in the base of the skull until all movement from the zombie ceases. Hmm... might as well loot them again. Debating on how long this lasts, any food, water, money, or valuables will be useful to us. You sift through the corpses' gear and fish out three smartphones, two TI-84 calculators, one TI-nspire, a pack of fruit snacks, another bottle of water, pack of graham crackers, one apple, and a bag of chips. That TI-nspire though. Someone's loaded. Storing all the loot in your backpack, you shoulder the backpack and make your way to the media center. Once you enter, you ignore Matt and Kate, seclude yourself in a corner far away from the others, pull out the cracked in iPhone, dial your mother's phone number, and press it to your ear. After several heartbeats, someone picks up and says a frantic "Hello?"
"Hi, this is Irene. I'm using a phone I--"
"Oh, thank goodness you're safe! I was so worried about you! I tried calling your cellphone so many times, but no one picked up! And then I tried calling our home phone and no one picked up then too! So I left several messages hoping you'd call back! But then I realized that you probably visited the school again today and weren't at home! I was so, so, so, worried about you! I'm so glad you're okay!" your mother says in a relieved, worried tone. She's crying too.
You sigh heavily, you knew this would happen. "Mother, I--"
"So where are you right now? What are you doing? Do you know what happened to Andre? Have you been eating? Or sleeping? What has the school been doing?"
"Mother, let me speak, please."
"Okay, okay, okay. I'm listening now."
You explain to her the current situation, and how you have seen no signs of your brother.
"You should stay inside the classrooms, where it's safe! Let the other people deal with all these zombies!"
"I can't, mother. I have to do something," you protest.
"I just want you to be safe. Please."
"Alrighttt," you say, wincing at the lie.
"Okay. Good."
"Well, what's the situation where you are right now?" you query.
"I couldn't get back home! They set up a quarantine around our area! I'm here with Daddy too."
"What are they doing though?" you ask.
"They say they're going to just quarantine the area for now."
"So no sign of support just yet?" you question.
"Nope."
"Okay, well I have to go do things now, bye," you say, trying to end the conversation.
"Stay safe!"
"Alright," you reply.
You hang up and sigh heavily, starting to walk towards Matt and Kate. So we can't count on outside help...Guess we'll have to stake it out by ourselves for now.

You walk toward you weapon whist trying to come up with a plan to get to your home and loot there.
These aruetii aren't worth the effort, a vehicle...
Just keep working on a plan to get home, I'll worry about the others.
You start to formulate a plan to get out of hear without attracting unwanted attention.
Might want a distraction to cover us
Could wait for them to cover up the breach

[Sei~]

Upon reaching the cafeteria entrance, Sei picks up a black backpack and light-blue hoodie from a dead body lying on the ground before unlocking the door and going inside. She gasps quietly, crouching a bit when she stares at the large windows on the other side and sees many undead lumbering outside. A few zombies rest against the glass, making groaning noises when they see her. Sei tries her best not to attract even more of the undead as she looks around the cafeteria. She spies two plain wooden doors and decides to explore them, unlocking one and slipping inside. Her eyes take several moments to adjust to the dimly lit room and realizes that this is the serving line and kitchen. Scooting past the serving line, she notices several knives lined neatly on a metal table. Sei chooses the bread knife and stores two shorter knives in her backpack. Deciding that carrying a mop around was too inconvenient for her, she ditches it and wields her new weapon. She then searches for food, finding two cans of fruit, one pineapple and one apple, and a can opener.

Suddenly, she hears a voice over the announcement, calling for these people she didn’t know to the media center. Hmm...Maybe since these guys are brave enough to be outside the rooms and in the hallway, we can stick together? she wonders to herself before starting to head for the cafeteria exit. Being sure to lock all doors behind her and not to attract the zombies at the window, she heads for the media room quietly and carefully. Sei quickly arrives at the entrance to the media center with no undead interrupting her along the way, unsurprising, since that hallway had already been cleared and its proximity to the cafeteria. Slowly, she unlocks and creaks the door open to look inside. “Helloooo?” she calls out softly, adjusting the light blue hoodie, pushing her unnaturally long light blue hair from her face, and waiting as she grips the bread knife in her hand.

I believe it is time, Ba'slan shev'la.
Agreed
With weapon in hand you turn to leave for the Humanities hallway
Head for the theater department first, we'll hide in the booth until it is safe to proceed
You walk toward the exit hoping no one sees you leave again.
Just got to look like I know what I am doing
You make it out of the Media Center, presumably unnoticed, and once you are satisfied that you are out of sight of the doors, you start to pick up your pace, heading for the Freshman wing.
So far so good
You enter the Freshman wing and come across a half dozen zombies.
Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la
Without breaking pace, you decapitate 3 zombies in a minute and a half and decapitate and dismember the other 3 in 3 minutes.
Now you understand what must be done
Yes, survival is all that matters
You make it to the Theater Department and enter the auditorium and start up the stairs to the catwalks.
Never thought I would make my stand here, never thought I would have to fight zombies either, I guess this is when we are all a forced to make sacrifices for our survival
You enter the Light Booth and crawl under the counter the old sound board is on, then you black out.
But this isn't like the seizures you had in 7th grade, this is stranger, you see the face behind the voice that has been guiding you.
So this is how it ends....
Yes, this is where one of us becomes whole, and the other ceases to be
You brace to fight your darkest self one final time...you hope...

Phillip and Sam open the doors to the media center about a minute after the doors have closed following Matt and Kate's venture inwards. Tugging Sam along, Phillip waves his other hand and calls out to Matt.
"Hey, man! Can you help a bro out? I could really use some help making sure this kid doesn't die." With that, he approaches the duo in the media center, the heart of the school.

Your name is DEREK GALTON STRASSER. You unfortunately are stuck in your history class during a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, an event that DELIGHTS you. It has been at least a day since a schoolwide lockdown was implemented and you have been growing quite IMPATIENT. You are in your JUNIOR YEAR of high school, one that is frequently associated with a ridiculous amount of WORK. You do many SPORTS, one of which happens to be INTENSE MARTIAL ARTS. Your passion lies within DESTROYING everything around you JUST FOR FUN. You believe that emotions are for the WEAK, and that only the STRONG should be allowed to survive. You are CAUTIOUS, and therefore always have some sort of WEAPON on you. In a CONTEST of any sorts, you are not satisfied with just victory, only OVERWHELMING DOMINATION.

What will you do?

Of course, the outside world hasn’t just stopped in the meantime. Parents worried about their children; while local, state, and national government flew into a frenzy formulating a response. Military and police were scrambled, and all of this took time. Most parents were caught out of the house and away from their home and local school, making the rescue of their beloved children immensely difficult. Those that were at home found themselves trapped within the house or unable to traverse the roads due to abandoned cars and the ever-hungry living dead.

Eventually, however, one group persevered.

~1:45 am~

A hastily armored Hummer roars across the grass by the football field, bypassing the snarls of cars that failed to escape. It cuts through and pushes back cars and zombies alike and slows down near the front of the school, where a large mass of zombies milled by the doors. Out from the windows and from the top of the hummer, gunmen start shooting the zombies with precision, aiming for headshots and taking their time. The louds rings of repeated gunshots attracts the attention of the mass of zombies. Their numbers only barely reduced by the repetitive cracks of rifles, the horde of several dozen zombies are irresistibly drawn toward the bright flashes, sharp snaps, and rumbling originating from the Hummer, and they approach as one. The vehicle slowly rolls away, barely outpacing the horde and continuing to slowly wear down their numbers.

Keeping a close eye on his surroundings, the driver switches on his radio and mutters. “Part One worked, we’ve attracted nearly all of them at the front. The front is clear, goodluck.”

A moment later, the driver gets two clicks in response, the signal for affirmative.

The driver revs the engine of the Hummer and pulls away at a faster pace while the gunmen fire more frequently.

Under the cover of the intense auditory assault of the Hummer, a small group of adults, dressed head to toe in makeshift protection and carrying silent weapons such as axes and knives, quickly sneaks to the front of the school, swiftly and noiselessly eliminating and stragglers they meet. Once at the front, they climb up the window to the top pane of glass and smash it, then, after clearing the glass away, climb through. The breaking of the window went mostly unheard by the zombies, but a few at the back of the horde turned around to go back for the adults on foot.

By the time the zombies reached the doors again however, the adults were all inside safely, and the zombies were unable to climb up to the window. The frustrated undead pounded uselessly on the glass as the group of adults slip deeper into the school.

Team 2 Members:

6’8, a big and burly looking older looking man, wearing a thick, old, and tattered-looking green coat partially patched with duct tape and black pants. Carrying a bloody fireaxe and a slightly dented aluminum baseball bat. A navy blue backpack is slung over his back.

6’5, a security guard his late 30’s, wielding a baton and a knife with a handgun holstered.

5’8, a dashing young man in a police officer uniform. Holstered handgun, and 2 nightsticks.

5’4, a muscular woman appearing to be in her early 40’s, carrying a blood-stained shinai (bamboo kendo sword). Wearing a tanktop and yogapants.

[Matt]

You see Philip dragging Sam along with him and make a tactical retreat. Basically, you pretend you didn’t see them. Sorry Philip, but I don’t feel like taking care of someone thats probably going to die soon anyways, and it’d be awkward to explain why I can't afford to waste medical treatment on him.

Turning away and throwing your gear over your shoulder, you hurry out the other set of doors and head toward the drama area. You pick up a music stand along the way and break the base and head off, leaving you with just the sturdy meter long pole.

No zombies huh? I guess I was lucky that I didn’t find any.[/i] You arrive at the shop and bar the large metal doors with some random nearby wooden structure, then clamp a knife from your backpack in one of the table clamps. A few solid hits with a hammer and the handle of the knife breaks of cleanly, leaving you with the metal tang only. You insert the metal tang into the end of the pole, then clamp the end of the pole in the clamp and force the clamp closed with every ounce of strength you possessed. You keep forcing the clamp until it simply wont shut and further, having compressed all available space between the pole and the tang. Chest heaving with exertion, you collapse to the floor and lean against the table to catch your breath before getting back up to inspect your work. You unwind the clamp and pick up the spear, swinging it around curiously.

Feels pretty solid. The blade isn't sliding or shifting at all. I can use this. You then sigh, realizing that you should probably gather up the materials to take them back to the breach. There were carts for moving heavy objects nearby, but it would still be a drag. All this work to do... I guess I should do it though, if I want it to get done the fastest. You begin the arduous process of piling materials onto a cart to take to MST down. Sequestered at the far end of the school and enclosed in the shop, you fail to hear the gunshots from the front of the school.

You come to right where you were, surprisingly not exhausted at all
Welp, that could've ended better
You start to make your way out from under the counter and start to stretch out.
Better get back to the media center before the others think I died or ran out on them
You start to make your way across the catwalks toward the stair well.
Actually, might be able to get some stuff from the light closet that could help.
Moving stealthily across the catwalks as only someone with three years of experience could do, you make you way toward the light closet when you hear a muffled sound coming from the front of the building causing you to stop where you stand
wait, what was that
You strain as more muffled sounds come from about the same direction
If that was what i think it was, we are all gonna be in some serious trouble really soon
You continue to make your way to the light closet and proceed to open the door and flick on the light switch, only one of the lights comes on
Bette than nothing
You strip most of the safety chains from the lights in the light closet and move back to the booth until you decide it is safe to make it back to the media center with out getting your head shot off by trigger happy idiots

You are bored. The initial hysteria from his classmates as a result of seeing a zombie had died out a while ago. Now people were fearful, speaking in lukewarm whispers about how they were supposed to get out of this, how they were supposed to survive. Some were also crying softly for food and water, Sucks to be them. Their fault for not being prepared, you smirk. But your irritation has reached a peak. The teacher had been trying to regain order, repeating futilely for everyone to calm down and that they would be rescued soon. But you can see in his eyes that he doesn't believe what he's saying. You glance outside balefully, you wanted to be out there, killing things left and right but instead you were trapped in this measly classroom. Time to do things my way.. You reach into your backpack, and pull out the dagger resting in there discreetly. Walking up to the teacher, you decide to give him one last chance and ask, "May I go outside?" The teacher, the fool he is, adamantly refuses and you unsheathe the dagger, grip him by the throat, shove him against a wall, and stab him repeatedly in the chest. And all the while, you laugh maniacally as his face is twisted with pain and shock. Once he stops moving, you pickpocket all the keys on him, throw the corpse to the side, and gauge your classmates' reactions. They look back, wide-eyed and fearful of what they just witnessed. Some had fled to the very corners of the room, others were hiding under desks, and then there were those that were flat out crying. You grin and address them in a low, threatening tone, "Everyone here now has to listen to me."

One brave soul steps forward and says shakily, "Y-you murdered him! How could you?! Why should we listen to a sick bastard li--"
His words are cut short as you stab him expertly in the throat. He gurgles, blood gushing from the wound, and dies.
You survey the rest of your classmates and ask, "Any more objections?"
This time they remain silent.
"Good. Now first order of business, no one here is allowed to leave the classroom without my permission. Although," you remind them darkly, "That should go without saying unless you want to be eaten by the zombies outside."
They all glance fearfully at the door.
"Second, everyone should empty out all of their pockets and put all their backpacks up here, on the ground near the teacher's desk. Anyone failing to comply will be," you gesture to the two bodies lying on the ground, "Disposed of."
The class nods fearfully in agreement.
"Good. In addition, anyone who is able to bring me more weapons, food, water, and other useful items shall be rewarded accordingly."
You stroll to the back of the classroom, noting, satisfactorily, how everyone shrunk back as you got near. You open the door, grab the nearest zombie, and stab it in the head. You fling the corpse to the side of the classroom, eliciting shrieks from your classmates at the sight. You get a tissue and casually wipe the blood off of your hands and dagger.
"And finally," you flash them a cruel grin, "As long you guys obey me, you won't have to worry about any zombies bothering you."

As you pile stuff onto the cart, your mind wanders. I wonder what it would be like to kill someone. I don't know if I could do it. I think I could, but I haven't tested myself. In books, movies, and interviews of soldiers, they've all said that the act of killing a man is unforgettable, that it changed them somehow. Would it change me? How would I change... Would I even be able to do it? It's pretty cliche but I guess possible for me to hesitate right before I kill someone. I didn't feel anything killing zombies, but they were already dead, so it can't count. I don't wanna die because I hesitated in the heat of things, and I'm probably going to have to kill in the future. Best to be prepared for it.... It'll probably be a huge rush. People say there's nothing more exciting than the feeling of killing a man, but that's probably exaggerated. I'll have out in a safe way. A situation where I'm not fighting for my life or staring down the barrel of a gun. One of the students around here maybe? If they were alone, and I said they turned and came after me... It would be self-defense, and no one can really do a thing about it anyways. If I see a straggler I don't know, I'll do it. Test myself, prepare myself for what's to come.

All necessary supplies heaped up on the cart, you sit down and have a late lunch.

The students do what you have instructed, one by one, they shuffle up towards the teacher's desk, now yours, and dump their backpack on the floor, and empty their pockets. One boy puts his backpack down meekly, then when turning out his pockets, he lunges at you with a swiss army knife. You catch his wrist, twist his knife arm behind his back, forcing him onto his knees.
"It seems that someone here is being disobedient," you say tauntingly. The boy struggles more at your comment. You pry the object from his hand, flip him over, and begin to strangle him.
"Even after all these warnings I have given you, it appears that some of you are still acting foolishly. I gave those two fairly swift deaths, but that apparently has to change to get this message across," you say in a menacing voice, hands slowly constricting the victim's throat.
The class retreats to the shadows of the room, paralyzed by terror. The boy in your hands flails around in vain, unable to stop his inevitable death. You laugh insanely, "You know, guns were always too impersonal for me. There's nothing like it, ending a life with your own bare hands."
The students start wailing in fear, only growing silent when you shoot them a glare. Such a nuisance, how weak people react to death.
The light dies from your victim's eyes and you decide that extra warnings should be placed. You walk over to the other two dead corpses, sever their heads, and prop them on your desk, facing the class. You do the same with the person you just killed, lining the decapitated heads neatly across. You smile at them sadistically, "Who's next?"
A timid girl obliges and walks forward, dropping all of her gear and turning out her pockets. And the process continues.

Once all the gear had been collected, you begin to organize the supplies. You create separate piles for food, water, weapons, materials, electronics, valuables/money, medical supplies, other useful items, and miscellaneous objects. After doing that, you place them in separate cabinets and lock them. At this point, a bold classmate walks towards you and says, "I want to join you."
You turn to him and ask, "Why do you wish to join?"
He replies stiffly, "Because I want power and you offer it. That and I always thought survival of the fittest would be fun."
You think for several moments, judging his true intentions, you smile and hold out a hand to shake, "Welcome aboard then."
The boy shakes your hand graciously.
"What's your name again?" you always had issues remembering the insignificant lives around you.
"Errr, my name is Nicholas Jackson."
"Alright then, Nicholas, you will have to prove your loyalty first."
He nods and asks eagerly, "Okay, what do I have to do? Oh and there are others who want to join you too."
Several others step forward, fearful, but in awe of your position. You hear several hostile whispers from the rest of your classmates, "Traitors!"
You take a step forward threateningly towards the dissenters and say loudly, "These people have made a move in the right direction. Which some of you still, have not."
You seize one of the complainers and slit her throat. The body crumples to the ground in front of the group of dissenters and they back away quickly.
"The people that join me shall be rewarded, the rest of you aren't punished necessarily, but will be if you resist," you motion to your group of followers, "Come with me."
They follow you outside the classroom, excited. Shouldering a bag of supplies, you eliminate the three zombies by the door swiftly.
"Alright, here is what we're going to do. We're going to recruit more people and pick up supplies along the way. And figure out the situation."
"What are we going to do about the students in the classroom? What if they try to escape?" Nicholas asks.
"Don't worry. These doors can be locked both ways," you twist the lock on the other side and close the door, "Now they can't escape even if they want to."
"Which is good since we don't want word getting out," concedes Nicholas.
You shoot him a look of approval. Perhaps he will be of good use to me. You faintly hear the sounds of someone desperately fighting up ahead.
You narrow your eyes, "Let's go investigate that."

Lunch break over, you pull aside the wood blocking the shop doors and cautiously push your heaping cart into the hallway. Zombies wouldn't be too much of an obstacle, you were more worried about them knocking the cart over and wasting a lot of your time. You wheel the cart quickly down clear hallways and push cautiously around corners. Stright down the drama hallway, left at the end and then right at the art room, straight down past the 9th grade hallway and Humanities area to MST. You encounter only a single zombie along the way, and only have to pause briefly to deal with it. The spear performs wonderfully, splitting the zombie's skull with one powerful thrust. Precision wasn't necessary when your weapon and strength was enough for a fatal blow. You saw some scared students along the way and directed them to the media center. You figured it was as safe a place as any.

Finally at MST, you park the cart in front of the currently useless elevator. The zombies wouldn't touch the cart, and there was no real reason for students or teachers to be messing with a cart piled high with wood. The power tools were at the bottom of the cart, hidden from sight. All that's left is to gather people to help close the breach and we should finally be secure. You begin to walk toward the media center once more.
