Everyone, I apologize profusely for the incredibly long absence. It is a betrayal to all the loyal players that I have had the privilege of roleplaying with. Together we've made one of the best threads I've ever been a part of with over 300 posts. Due to extreme family crisis here and just bad luck, I've been held up for more than a week due to the fallout of said crisis while losing my computer.

Luckily I have a laptop now and can resume edits. But this shouldn't happen again. You all deserve better. In light of this, I decided that this roleplay is no longer my sole province as GM. If they accept, I'd like to have both Sam and Poly on as Co-GMs, as I've collaborated with them the most and they have pretty solid ideas of my own prior vision for the direction of the RP.

Should I ever be indisposed again, I'd like one of both of them to drive events forward and the three of us can build on plots for the future. I've also decided to accelerate the RP a bit. I said before that all characters must be League members until future threads.

As of now, I'm allowing players to control up to 4 characters who may also be villainous. Villain characters can be Legionaries or independent criminals of all stripes. I'm also allowing lone anti-heroic vigilante types. For those who want an independent character, keep in mind that things are going to be much harder for them than if they belonged to a group. Though Lone Vigilantes aren't subject to follow the same rules as the League they do tread very thin ice. So if you feel your character doesn't fit in the League they can strike out on their own at their own peril.

Your character can now be imprisoned or critically injured or some such lasting condition. I'm debating whether or not to turn on death and wold like to hear thoughts.

Don't see a reason why we shouldn't have you guys, unless you can't write for crap or something :p.

As for death, I'd say no. At least in my opinion, I don't think anyone would want a character they worked hard on to make and polish up for this RP to all of a sudden be killed in some fight gone wrong. I also don't think they'd like to just toss said character out and replace them with... pretty much the exact same thing with a different name just to keep playing as someone they wanted to use all the way.

As much as I like the idea of permanent character death.. which I do.. I think it should be pretty darn forgiving. As in, a character will always have some way to get out of a situation that gets them killed around 2-3 posts before hand, and their owner should definitely be made aware of what could be killing them and why. Of course, they can only work with what their character knows though, so this may mean people are more likely to meta-game without meaning to...

TL;DR

We don't want deaths, but we want the fear of dying.. I'm happy to have it.

And MrD, don't worry about it! RL comes before RP!

Like Poly I'm happy to Co-Gm. As for the character death part I'm all for it, but it would need to be regulated. I would think for major acts a player death would raise the stakes. Perhaps the GM could approach a player privately ahead of times to see if they'd be willing to 'sacrifice' a character as it were, so instead of a punishment its more like an extension of the story with a real emotional resonance for the characters, kind of like the death of Barry Allen in infinite crises.

Real life always comes first, D. But, it's nice that we can get the ball rolling again now that your back!

As for permadeath, I agree with Thinker. The ability to die for being overly brash should definitely exist, however I feel as if players should know that possibility exists in certain situations. Like, for instance, the fight with Polaris: I would have categorized that as a moment where death was very much possible. So, when you introduced Polaris, you could have written a brief stint about how powerful he is and how dangerous it would be to engage him. Ya know what I mean?

Welcome back. I'm looking to post, I'm just not sure where people are. Light/MC are in the league hall doing whatever at the moment. Where is everyone else and who wants to interact with my chars?

Also, Learned about the new kriby villain from the latest game, Triple Deluxe. Some potential to make that one reoccuring like Dedede if they want.

Seconded. That's not to say we should have every death be a heroic, awe-inspiring sacrifice, though- there can be just as much drama in someone dying pointlessly.

Hey guys. I was thinking about making a character who could manipulate metal. Not like magnetism, but along the limes of molecular manipulation so no like making buildings and cars float, but being able to make metal turn into liquid form, take different shapes, split in half etc.

Welcome to the wagon, nice to have ya. I don't believe we have anyone else with that sort of skill, player wise anyway, who has that sort of skill. So you'd definitely be bringing something unique in the term of powers to the table.

I've always considered making Abaddon into an anti-villain instead of an anti-hero. Depending on how all the stuff involving him plays out, I'll see what I decide to do with him.

Neither do I :p, right now I'm only paying attention to the stuff involving my character, and at best I skim through things that he could get involved in if he isn't in something else already.

@Polyphemus: I actually plan on it sometime, the idea popped into my head the moment I realized he wouldn't be able to act his usual self.
