A truly formidable opponent also never dies this early on in a conflict, do they? I'm certain that upon bringing her within death's view would cause her to teleport away and flee. This battle isn't consequential enough for we to risk her life like that.

They probably don't die this early because nobody ever goes for a quick kill. If you ask me, it should be as simple as kill, burn, and if you're feeling particularly cautious, place the remaining atoms in a nuclear reactor, and then use the energy to power something menial.

Who said no one tries? I certainly do. I never perform an attack if my intention for it isn't beneficial in some manner. I don't just fight to fight. Quick kills on beings such as this never work because planning, studying, and practicing are required to completely take them down.

Nobody ever does. But I disagree; every being is mortal, and it doesn't always require a long, drawn out exposition, along with scaling up to your best attacks to defeat them. In some circumstances, if you ask me, I say pull your ace in the hole and be done with it.

If your strongest move fails, you have a bigger problem than knowing your best move, considering it means they're that much stronger. If they're too strong, you shouldn't be fighting them to begin with. If they're around the same or a bit higher, it'll weaken them enough without you getting exhausted. If they're weak, it's a one hit KO. I do agree that you should know how they can evade first, though.

For example, you could hit Ruby with your strongest force possible, but you would fail. However, you may hit her with something she is not invulnerable to, but you cannot do as powerfully, but she may still be taken down.
