[IC] quest of questionable heroes

Seeing Effie, Ven simply smirked, pulling out a kunai from a black pouch on his hip, spinning it around. He then paused for a moment to utter an enchantment on the blade, filling it with his magic. Then, he tied a small pouch to the end of the kunai. He then threw it in her direction, it plunging itself in a tree inches away from her. "Consider that a gift...may it serve you well in the days to come, assassin." He says before he begins walking back towards his home. Luckily for him, he had plenty more coin than from where that came from.

Effie flattened her hair down from where Cagan patted it, sneering at the action. It insulted her to be regarded as a mere child. Her bad mood - which was her usual mood - was furthered only so when a flying object embedded itself into the tree behind her, surprising her though she showed it not. Glancing at it from her periphery vision, she made out the sharp edges of a kunai with a small pouch at the end. Following it's trail, she laid eyes on the newcomer, her eyes widening with fury. This was one of the biggest insults that she has ever received - her weapons were fine, thankyouverymuch.

"Consider that a gift...may it serve you well in the days to come, assassin." And then he had the gall to turn his back on her.

Grasping a stick from the ground, she tossed it at his head with minimal effort. He needed to know he was in the wrong.

"I don't need your petty gift, fiend." She spat with venom, "My weapons work quite well."

Crossing her arms, she glowered and, instead of pulling the kunai from the tree, left it there as she approached him from behind, waiting for his response.

Ventus stopped in his tracks when he heard Effie approach, not turning around. "I'm surprised...I would have expected you to care more about the contents of the pouch attached to the kunai than the weapon itself..." He then snapped his fingers, the seal on the dagger activating and in a bright flash of light, the kunai reappears in his right hand.

Cagan watched as the two began to converse, in an angry tone it may be it was a conversation non-the-less. Still he was ready to watch the battle that he was sure would commence soon. The two would be a strange match to behold, the new comer was powerful and fast but effie was cunning and sly, they both had a brutality to them that came off as an aura. "effie, we need to move out, this man id the least of our worries" he said hoping it would do nothing to stop her.

"Well, if we're supposed to be moving out, then we should move out now." Effie huffed, though she made no move. Snarling, she spat onto the ground and waited for the other to make a move, offensive or not.

Kieran watched their pathetic exchange with a certain amount of distaste. They wore their ridiculous pride like cumbersome armor. He shook his head slightly, why had he even tried? Mankind would never make good friends, they are always far to concerned with themselves for that... Cana trotted forward ahead of the group, her nose to the dirt path, sniffing at something unseen. Kieran decided to turn and follow her, disinterested in the other party members for the time being. He only wanted to move forward now.

Ventus simply untied the pouch of coins from the kunai and tossed it at Effie. Then, he said something loud enough in the Sylvan tongue for Kieran to hear, "Consider this gold a gift!" Then, he walked off into the forest.

Cagan smiled as he felt himself walking on again at a faster pace, he was losing to much time and he needed time to sleep if he was to keep doing this. Now letting the man go who had insulted his crew he hoped they would meet again, perhaps even with him joining the group. "effie, don't get to caught up in what others say, we need to keep our reputation clean if we want people to allow us into there cities" cagan allowed himself to say stiffly as the group seemed to afraid of effie to touch her.

Effie snorted, pocketing the money if only because she had a certain attachment to the gold, and decided to ignore the other haughty member of their marching band of idiots.

"My reputation should be dirtied, considering my occupation. Others are just too stupid to catch me." And then decided to let it be, though if she ever saw that guy again, he'd get a good fist in the face. "Don't look so disgusted, friend. You're not much better than me, despite what you think." She shouted to the back of Kieran and his beast.

Kieran smiled over his shoulder "You are just as fiery as your hair, I will keep my distance... I do not wish to be burned this day." he said as simply and as smoothly as he could in Common. He kept trotting alongside his dear wolf, never breaking stride. Verbal banter was pointless to him, nature only fights with physical force. She must be keenly perceptive to have sensed his disgust in their pointless show of pride, but she had misinterpreted it. Kieran did not believe himself better than any man, but he believed that nature was better then them all. Mankind fights far too hard to conquer each other, rather than just accepting their place in the world.

Katherin shook her head. She didn't know what the problem was between the newcomber and the assissin but whatevrr it was they needed tl work through it now rather then later. It would be important for them to be able to work together seamlessly once they reached their destination.

Ryuko sightet at the new guy and Effie getting in a fight. Normally she would like a scene like that but because she wasnt involved in it it was boring for her. Luckyly the little fight ended as quickly as it began.

Ryuko just wanderd on with the group slowly getting bored. A journy like this.... walking all day long.... will it be worth it? The time they just spend walking would bore her to death so she really needed something to do. Effie was not an option right now.... Ryuko would get herself killed..... She startet to look around watching the other people of the group and searching for someone intresting as she noticed a wolf that was wandering alongside one of them. Ryuko really loved animals and espacily wolfs..... well only the ones that wouldnt attack her.

Ryuko slowly walked up to the wolf and its owner being carefull not to accidantly scare one of them and then asked the man "hey uhmm..... can i maybe pet your wolf?"

Knowing how most of the people in the group are always in a bad mood Ryuko didnt really expect any other awnser than no but hey asking is for free.

Kieran nodded a 'yes' to the young looking girl. "Aye, she's friendlier than I am. She is called Cana, she is my animal companion until death do us part." he said in rough common. At the mentioned of her name, Cana cocked her head to the side. She trotted over to Ryuko and sniffed at her clothing, causing it to fluff up to her nose and make her sneeze. Kieran smiled only very slighty, he would take more kindly to those his wolf approved of, anyone kind to animals was acceptable to him.

Ryuko smiled as the wolf sneezed and then leaned down carefully puting her hand on the head of the wolf attempting to pet it. she was carefull but not because she was scared but because she had respect of such a wolf. Ryuko really hoped that the wolf would like her.... she would have something to cuddle during their long trip

the day followed with slight conflicts between others and conversations struck with others, it was a group of mixed cultures and personalities, many of which not disciplined and it as obvious. There short and simple battles between the men and weak monsters of the lands sparsely leveled out between the day, none much like the cyclops and humdrum compared, still the adventure had left many weary and tired from the day's walk, and he was glad they'd now be nearing the town. He knew well the monsters such as kolbollds or goblins that attacked carried the gold of those they slew or found and that those in the group may have nabbed it as the left so he was ready to let them spend it. "listen, I set you free on the town for the night but know well I will expect you all to be awake by tomorrow as I require you all for a test of our group's strength, both as a unit and alone so don't go drinking yourself into a drunken stupor got it?" the leader now said looking back at the group with a harsh stare as he warned them of the sparring he was ready to watch the following day, but was hoping to merely scare them, if it worked he would skip it as it was never something he truly cared about. "alright disperse we made it here earlier than expected so enjoy yourselves" he let out before waiting (not long mind you) until the others started to wander off, he noticed that a small amount were missing in action but shrugged it off.

Katherin rolled her eyes. She wasn't a drinker. But she knew that some of the others would get carried way. She was curious how serious their leader was about his threat. She would just have to wait to 'see'. For now she would enjoy the others as the relax.

Ryuko was really tierd after their day walk and so happy that they finally arrived at a town. During their trip she got herself a bit of gold stealing it from some of the others so she would be glad to spend it. but drinking alone is no fun so she would need to find someone to have some fun with. She was thinking about asking effie but she was not sure if she was still pissed from earlyer today. Another person that came across her mind was that wolf guy.... she was imagining how it would ook when he got drunk but then she got a bit scared of what he would do in his wolf form.... maybe another day... And so with most of the people that would be good drinking mates out she decided to walk up to their leader and ask him.... afterall they had a preaty fun night so who knows what would happen when they both get drunk <3
"hey~ would you like to share a few drinks with me?" she asked him coming up from behind and giving him a cute inocent smile trying to seduce him with another strategy than last time.

Effie entered a tavern, picked randomly, and sat down onto a seat. Her eyes drooped with boredom and exhaustion. There was nothing that made her sleep more than walking silently. Ordering the strongest drink, she downed it in one go before receiving another one.
