Randin grumbled. He sat in his room alone with his feet on a dark-wood desk, leaning back in his chair. He stared at the ceiling. How did this all happen? Randin was the older prince in the family, yet, his father's dying wish was to make Rowan king. It had infuriated Randin.

But that was years ago. Now Randin could be found in his soldiers' barrack, sharing the cramped room with them. Sure, he was a prince, but only by blood. He no longer had a right to the title. Rowan had banished him. Rowan said Randin was too dangerous. He sent Randin away with his most loyal. So Here they were. All 400 soldiers and one banished prince.

Jack woke up he had took a nap after their latest heist to get some food his wings fluttered like a 2nd instinct as he put on his jacket sliding it carefully over his wings it ripped he swore a bit but it was alright he put on his heat proof gloves and stood up he was slightly swaying in the tavern room. it was a good tavern it didn't ask questions. Jack moved towards the edge of the windowsill He whistled thrice and his dragon came out of nowhere from its hiding hole in the hills "hey you been drinking again or are you just tired" shadow said snickering at the memory of when jack accidentally drunk whiskey in one of the rare arguments with his sister. "no im good" Jack said "get your sister we are going"
"I think you should do the same... " Shadow responded flying off like a black streak Jack moved out of his room and noticed his sister playing cards

Sailing into an important city were all of twenty pirate ships. The weather was calm above them and beneath the ship with the ocean's water barely moving beyond the oars that the men were using to keep the boat propelled through the water. Within a few hours they had all the ships anchored at the city's docks. Then Barry the boss of these pirate ships, 'had to have an argument with his right hand person...'

And they hadn't even got off the ship yet....

What a promising day...

"Look Michelle I understand that you want to go have a look around and-"

Her eyes went wide as she smiled an innocent smile, "But Barryyyyy, Please please let me go on my own... Cause its so hard to talk to people when they're surrounded with pirates...."

Barry considered for a minute. "Well you stick with me and some of the men for the first little while, until I understand more about this place. Then your free to explore as you like."

She didn't like it but she accepted the decision.

And so Barry and Michelle led about thirty, other armed pirates into the city to see what was there.

While the rest of the unlucky guys were left to supervise the ships.

One of his soldiers hurried into Randil's Room, not even pausing to knock. He seemed slightly out of breath as he straightened and gave the prince a salute, "S-Sir. There has been a sighting of a dragon landing a could of miles to the north." He said hastily.

Lód and Ada had just landed for the day. They had been flying for hours and Lód was totally exhausted. She flopped into the ground as soon as she landed and grumble into Ada's head, "We've been flying all day. I don't care how eager you are to get to this capital city I'm taking a nap."
Ada rolled her eyes at her friend as she slid off her back and walked up to her head, "Don't be lazy, we've only been flying for a few hours." She spoke allowed and Lód huffed a breath through her snout, blowing Ada's hair back with her cool breath. Ló opened her eyes and glared at her.
"I'm carrying you along with all of out stuff. You're just going along for the ride." Ló specified. Ada though for a moment and then nodded in agreement.
"Okay, you're right. You take a nap, if you can in this heat." Lód closed her eyes and almost immedietly drifted off. Ada rolled ehr eyes and mumbled, "Lazy bones..." Before walking around her to sit leaning against Lód's side.

"A dragon?" Randin sat up at his desk. "What kind? Do you know? Did it have a rider?" He leaned closer to the soldier with each question. He hoped it wasn't one of Rowan's men. His own had suffered enough in the last week or so, being attacked for trespassing. He'd lost many men in the fight.

The Solider dropped his salute and looked slightly nervous as he reported, "There was a sighting of a rider on its back, and it seemed to be all white. I did not see it myself, I am just passing on the message from the scouts. Would you like to send out a party to meet them?" He asked, shifting his weight nervously from foot to foot, "Or would you prefer to go out yourself?"

Randin thought a bout for a moment. "Nah. I think I'll be taking Malech out for a ride." Randin growled a little. He had a bit of a smirk on his face. This was a different kind of fun. Different from Leading his men to victory over his brother's armies. Way more fun than sitting around and thinking about stupid stuff. "This could be interesting."

Randin got the coordinates from the soldier and sent him to take a "much deserved break" and went out to the dragons' barracks. Once inside, he went straight for Malech's room (each dragon got their own room).

"What is it, human?" Malech's deep voice grumbled, just barely audible.

"Time for a ride, dragon." It was customary between the two to refrain from name use. Partially as a playful gesture and partially to keep people from recognizing them in public.

"A ride, you say?" The dragon picked it's head up. "And what, may I ask, is the occasion?"

"Another dragon has been spotted. No doubt it belongs to the ranks of Rowan."

"It has a rider?"

"Yes. according to the reports, that is." Randin sounded a little unsure. "But nothing we can't handle." Malech grunted in agreement. Puffs of frosty air pushed their way out of his nostrils.

"This could be interesting. It has been a long time since I have met a dragon that matches my strength and abilities." Malech got to his feet and followed Randin as he moved towards the given coordinates.

Sol popped his head out of the deep undergrowth in the woods where he was. He actually had lost his way about a week ago. He had been heading for a human city but then was attacked by someone who he never saw after the first arrow. He had landed near the woods and wandered inside. Track forward a week and here he was. Right now he could see mountains in the distance so he spread his wings and took flight. If nothing else the mountains would give him a place to look over the land from. He flew faster than most of the younger dragons he had meet due to always being on the move. A few humans had once tried to force him to have a rider that didn't end well for them. When he got to the mountains he saw nothing odd about them and found a nice cave to rest in for a while. From the smell of it something or someone had gone by here not to long ago.

Ada stretched as she leaned away from Lód about 20 mins later. She stood and yawned into her hand before turning to face her dragon, "Com'on lazy bones. Time to get up and keep going. We have to get to the Capital before markets close and I don't have a chance to sell the furs we brought with us."

Lód grumbled but reluctantly woke up. She stretched much in the way a house can would before looking at Ada, "We should be able to get there before dark, so the markets might still be open. If not we have another night of sleeping in the woods." Ada nodded. She didn't really mind sleeping in the woods, she was used to it. But she wanted to meet these princes they were talking about up north. Ada tugged her fur cloak off and then climbed nimbly onto Lód's back. She secured the cloak with the rest of their supplies as Lód prepared to take flight.

"Not so fast." Randin said as he gave Malech the landing signal. "Who are you and what are you doing here? Were you sent by Rowan?" He growled the last sentence.

"If you intimidate her, she'll never give you a straight answer." Malech prompted his rider.

"I wasn't asking for your advice, dragon."

"I know and I don't care." Malech shrugged the prince off of his back. "The ground is for humans, my friend. Utilize it."

Nero had been flying for so long he had lost track of time, He could feel the wound on his front leg stinging. "damn those humans, they will never learn to respect a dragon." Nero said as he finally found a cave among the snow covered mountains. He landed harshly because of his wound and he limped over to the mouth of the cave where he finally collapsed on the ground. The snow felt cool against his wound and he looked out at land that this cave overlooked. There was a large human city down at the bottom and there were more mountains on the other side. Nero said "I guess I'll rest here for now, maybe I'll finally get some peace and quiet here." Nero then lowered his head to the ground and began to nap.

Ada and Lód were shocked as a dragon and a rider landed in front on them on the ground. Lód automatically back peddled a few steps and ducked her head shyly. Ada patted her neck and said soothingly, "It's alright..." She pushed her hair to cover up the pointed tips of her hair along with pulling a hat on. Then she slid off Lód's back and walked over to meet Randin.

She regarded him cooly and a said, "What do you think gives you the right to stop us sir? And when do you thin makes who we are and what we want to do any of your business?" Her voice was cold as ice, but still anger lurked beneath the surface like lava under a glacier. It was clear that she was not intimidated by him in the slightest.

"You tell me. You're the one who's trespassing." Randin eyed the woman carefully. She was beautiful. She was bold. He liked that. "However, I doubt,now, that you're with Rowan. You would have tried to kill me by now. Unless, of course you're a spy...." He let the last word trail of questioningly. Malech nudged him in the back. Randin looked at him. He signaled to the other dragon who looked nervous. He nodded at Malech, understanding that this meant to try to be a bit nicer. "But I also doubt that."

Ada looked the pair over as Lód watched descretely. With an exasperated sigh she stood with her hand on her hips, her feet planted squarely, "I didn't know what this was private land. I'm not even quite sure what a Rowan is at this point. We are simply traveling to the capital to sell some furs from the far north."

She turned to glance at Lód over her shoulder and thought to her, "No need to be so nervous. I don't think they mean us any harm if we leave soon."
Lód nodded nervously as she looked at the male dragon across the clearing from her and thought, "Oh... He is beautiful..." to which Ada replied by pausing and bursting out into a fit of laughter. She had not been expecting that from Lód.

Randin and Malech looked at the woman in confusion. "What are you laughing at?" Randin got defensive again.

Malech brushed him with his tail. "Relax."

"Well, so you know, I lead an army against Rowan. That is the easiest way to explain it." Randin pushed Malech's tail away.

Jessica looked up to notice Jack walking slowly down the stairs. she grinned. She had a large amount of money next to her on the table. she had the luck of the gods Jack would tell her.. "2 aces" The man to her left called it was her turn and she said with a smirk "royal flush" their was a angry scowl of faces as jessica took all their money... she threw most of it on the floor and they moved to pick it up like dogs. she took a small pouchful and walked out her brother in pursuit. her dragon coming down in a golden arch

Ada suppressed her laughter after a moment. She returned her face to its neutral emotion and said, "Lód said something unexpectedand humorous. It caused me to laugh." Her voice had a musical quality with a slight accent. Lód glared at her back and poked Ada hard with the tip of her tail.

Ada ignored her and said, "Well that still doesn't really explain it. Are you two lords who are fighting because he stole away the love of your life? No, it doesn't really." She said this in a monotone voice, clearly not actually interested.

Barry and Michelle's group were making quite a stir in the city. A lot of people were talking openly in front of them of how they had never seen pirates before. Other people actually ran away yelling "Pirates Pirates!" of which the few guards who actually showed up visibly shook in their boots and gave no trouble to the group.

So they continued their way deeper into the city to the city square and to a beautiful fountain.

Ofcourse Michelle just ran up to it, "Oh Barry its such a beautiful fountain don't you think? It's got such a nice statue of a lady pouring water down at the top and oh wow people actually throw money into it." Indeed it did seem that several people were throwing silver coins into the water.

It was interesting notion to Barry but before he could reply to Michelle, some fellow with a nice jesters costume accosted her.

Barry frowned.

"Hey my lady." This fellow says winking at her with his deep blue eyes and smoothly combed bright blonde hair, "Would you like to share some coin with me instead of da' fountunn and you can watch me eat fire?"

Michelle beamed at him, "That sounds amazing, I'd be happy to." she says and then turns around and sticks her tongue out at Barry.

Barry turns away from Michelle embarrassment plain on his face.

I wish Terry would come back, at least then I'd have someone to talk to, who would actually 'listen' to me....

Randin gave the woman a funny look. He knew she wasn't really interested. He made the same face whenever he wasn't interested, but he still felt like some kind of explanation was necessary. "Rowan is my brother. We're trying to kill each other." He told the truth. "And about the capitol, not really a place I would visit if I were you. Too many rules and crazy people. You could easily sell your stuff here. I'm sure I'd pay a prettier penny than anyone in the city. Winter is well on its way and my men could use something to keep them warm. Just come with me and name your price." Randin courteously offered his arm for the woman to take. "Besides, room and board are free. I have a room for guests such as yourself. And there's a warm place for your dragon as well." Randin put every effort in to sound as friendly and sincere as possible. There was still a chance that she was working for Rowan and he didn't want to run the risk of her going to town and ratting him out.

Nero woke up to his stomach growling. Nero sighed and said "I guess it's time to eat." Nero then leaped off the cliff and glided down into the forest surrounding the city where he slowly searched for something to eat. He quickly found and caught a deer that he began to feast on until he heard distant howls. Nero growled and said "great more annoying creatures."
