[OOC] The Tales of Alton

Plot
many, many centuries dragons had roamed the land of Alton, thus ruling over the lands. Humans had feared them and was helpless to do anything about them. They only hid and tried their best not to be wiped off the face of the planet. The human's fear converted into anger soon enough, anger converted to hate, and hate was a spark of war. Before this could happen, one young lady was able to convince the two races that could work together as one... This started the first age of the dragon riders.

A few centuries after that, the hearts of most humans grew cold. They begin to hunt and kill dragons. For their skin, theeth, money, of just for the thrill of this. This caused to dragon population to decrease and the ones who remained went into hiding. This era had ended most of dragon rider. Only a small amount of dragons stayed with their riders.

Now we are in the present days, there are no signs of riders. If their where any, no one knows about their whereabouts . The spark of the new dragon rider era started with two young princes. It begin when the two brothers where out adventuring with their mother. Out by a riverside where two abnormal eggs. As soon as the brothers touched the eggs, they cracked and hatched into young dragons. Since their father was long gone, the Queen didn't know if she should let her boys keep them. However, she felt like her sons and their dragons where somewhat bonded

As the years pasted, the boys where trained as riders by an fromer dragon rider of the kingdom. At this time , the boys where 16 and their mother was growing sick. It was time for her to choose the kingdom's next king. Of course, she choose the son with the purest heart. The other son, who had darkness in his heart became upset. This would cause problems in the later furture. At last, their mother pasted away a few weeks after the good brother's rule. A month or so after her death, the bad bother attempted to over throw his bother and take the throne.their dragons where locked in battle, the men who supported the two as well. The good brother, king Rowan , had managed to defeat his brother and banished him from the kingdom until further notice.

King Rowan fears that his brother will seek revenge..he's also afraid that the new dragon riders will join his side. So the question for you is..

Will stay loyal to the kingdom , loyal to the banished Prince, or will you remain to your self? Which ever you choose, will have effect on the upcoming future

Note: zmerr is co-GM so they have the power to decline and accept folks. They will also be playing the banished Prince

Appearance:

History:He grew up from a poor family that struggled to even clothe their kids. Part of it was because his parents sold food to the local marketplace but the weather was horrible and so they couldn't sell much and so they had little money. His father was a hard working 'farmer' who wasn't afraid of running out of food to sell because he was sure that that would never happen. Sure enough they always managed to have enough money left over for the family to eat and buy the odd item of clothing. When he was ten years old, his home village was attacked by pirates. Most of the houses were burned and Barry was taken from his family during the nights attack.

Years passed and he learned how to be a pirate because he would be swimming with the fishes if he didn't.

Eventually he became the new pirate leader after the last passed away and he put himself forward and everyone of the pirates supported him as new leader.

As pirate leader when he was twenty four was when he met and became fast friends with his dragon companion: Terry. They have trained together every day since and are best friends to this day.

History: I screwed up okay the spell healed my sister but it also messed up my genetics I got wings now. so yea. i hide them the best i can under a cloak while i talk to people to make them stop staring and to avoid suspicion ... for they are black like a demon's. it times like this i wish i could change the past... but i can't and so far i havn't been bother to look for a cure so im stuck like this. We found our dragons near a cave illuminated on one side with crystals and the other side bare and dark My egg hatched first and my sisters hatched a couple of months later. we self trained our selves to fly them "Yea and you screwed up alot" Shut up Shadow im trying to record this in my book... anyway as you heard that was my dragon... and well we are still thieves stealing to get by. so yea just like any other day
Weapons; his weapon of choice is a Chain. because of the lengh he can also alight it to be on fire... he uses it for disarming and meleeing
Skills/abilities/power: Magic Fire magic He is more proficient in this type of magic able to redirect and manipulate fire as well as create it but it causes him strain and prolonged use can lead to headaches blackouts and even comas. Shadow magic: he uses this magic to tranverse the shadows he can travel distances of up to 1 km via shadows but as with fire prolonged use can lead to problems. he can also be displaced appearing in the wrong place.
he can use his wings to glide Short distances. however hes not strong enough to fly yet. so he still rides on his dragon.

Personality: He is a silent type, and only talks if he is spoken to. He is loyal to a point of endangering himself. He has a protecting instinct. To commoners, he might not even speak at all to them. He is extremely obedient, and will followed orders without question from the king. However, any orders that could risk the life of the king he will not do as commanded, because his duty is to protect the king.
Appearance: 6'3", broad shouldered and barrel chested. He has light blue eyes and brown, short cut hair. He is generally always, as long as he is working, seen wearing the kingdoms armor, with the kingdoms symbol on his breastplate. He wears a red cloak also with the kings symbol unlike other guards, a symbol of him as a royal guard. When off his shift, he will wear rather simple clothes, but always has his sword on his body.
History: He grew up as the son of a retired guard, and was brought up in the world of combat. When he was a young teenager, he became a dragon rider, training with the other dragon riders following that. He soon was accepted as a guard as soon as he was able, moving up to a royal guard soon after.
