"The Humans of this world have worshiped the gods since their creation. They may have different names for them and different practices but all people worship
them, worship and fear them. Because they know them to be real. And the know of their gifts or curses. Their benevolence and their world shattering anger."

So in this Rpg you play either a god or a nation. Either keep it balanced.

Still in work. Any ideas and suggestions appreciated.

Haha, claimed zeh post!

Anyways how is a god going to be prevented from taking over a country?

WIP I'll improve it later when I get more of an idea but it's a place holder for now.
Name: Alhiera (goddess)
Powers: Desert, fire/heat (not the warm and fuzzy stuff, hot and blistery stuff), and the wind. In her domain (desert) she's quite capable of very devasting destruction able to kill mortals through natural disaster, typically it will not be individuals but whole groups when she does go killing someone for whatever reason. Her commonplace practice for when taking with mortals is through forming a body of sand and wind which typically is fairly obscure, however she has proven before (once) that that she can 'draw blades' and kill a mortal with her sand and wind form.
Holy symbol or symbols:
Role in the pantheon: major goddess, and takes on the role of the summer goddess in many places, in the desert she's the primary deity of worship.
Practices: Traditionally warriors who follow her often wield dual curved swords in honor of her, that being her fighting style. Desert dwelling people will often create great bonfires and dance around (and through) the flames often dressed only wearing loose and airy light silken garments intimidating the wind. It has been noticed that during these ceremonies that the flames seem to actively avoid catching the garments on fire, however there's been at least few incidents involving landing in the coals.
People merely travelling through the desert often make some sort of tribute to her for protection against sandstorms, and general personal safety. Outside of the desert she's often worshipped as the goddess of the summer since her domains are in that area. Practices for worshipping her as the summer goddess is very wide spread and so various that in some places she's miss interpreted very badly.

(This was the other person's idea, talked over PM)
She has made it known that she doesn't tolerate people trying to invade the desert, and proved it when she stopped the invasion by the Third Empire. She formed several sandstorms in the region where the invaders were, and she made the heat go so high as to kill soldiers outright due to the fact they simply weren't used to the desert's regular tepature in the first place. With her sandstorms she ravaged supply caravans and randomly struck out at the army, the final attack was with wind speeds so high that the sand would cut away bare flesh exposed to it. In the end she drove away the invadersand personally showed up before the highest ranking officer alive and informed him that the next invasion force wouldn't have survivors.

Well the Gods don't have that kind of power like you gave Alhira. They don't exist in the Realm of men directly but can only influence it with their powers. The Nations are clearly a main focus.

And pyrak I think a sun and weather God was already chosen in the IC so I think that would be a little bit doubled.

No problem (bow before my might or face the wrath of my mighty mega sandstorm of doom :p)

So with the god of sun, rain and harvest, and my goddess of fire/heat, wind and desert, than we could set up to others (cold, water/snow/ice, and life, fertility) than we could have a nice and complete set of seasonal deities (naturally with their own areas more accustomed to thier elements like the desert for me), anybody likesies?

Can there be direct god interference with mortals, I don't mean like saving their life but like maybe raising them. Interacting with them through the beasts they created and having them cared for?

Name:The Black Horde
History:For an age the Nomad people of the Alsaila desert have been in a state of war and violence, the only time they wouldn't fight was during the festival of the goddess of the desert, there they would peacock around and have gaming events and even duels to the death to see which tribe is the greatest the festival would end with a reading of the shared history and the prophecy that followed it would start like this [i]"Long ago the goddess of the desert made woman from the sands, then the beasts of the desert, and lastly she made man and embedded all with wills of their own. Man and woman were made in the likeness of the goddess and thus they found each other and found love in each other, eventually many more came from their union, and then many more after their union, one day a man stole a woman from another man and killed her husband. The husbands family killed the evil man, and the evil mans family fought the husbands family and many other families joined in causing them all to split off and form their own tribes and thus the tribes were made." The story would go on to talk about the taming of the horse herds and end with the prophecy "One day a babe will be left on the steps of the goddess' temple and she will shelter him and when he is of age she will release him out onto the world. Where he will unite the tribes and bring an age of order and peace of prosperity and wealth." Then the festival would convene and the 30 day peace period would commence and the tribes would not fight each other for thirty days. But people are unsure when this prophecy will be fulfilled.

Military:The Black Horde will start off small (Maybe one or two tribes) but as Targ (He who is spoke of in the Prophecy) comes into the picture he will expand the horde and eventually bring many more tribes into the mix. The Tribes is known for being unbeatable on the horse, and many tribes have different unique traits.
Relationship to the Gods:They worship the goddess of the desert.
People:5,000 Tribe members (So far)
Important persons:

Targ the warchief and ruler of the Black Horde, He has a sword on his belt as well as the staff.

Name: Dekys, god of death. Dekys, God of the afterlife. He who grants and revokes death.
Powers: Dekys has the ability to control the flow of souls in/out of the underworld. Because of this, he can cause ghosts of the dead to haunt areas of the mortal plane, undead, and reincarnation. Yep. This guy controls who reincarnates where, though, through this power he has to be unbiased. Undead are simply a byproduct of reincarnation, as the bodies of the reincarnated become soulless husks that can be brought back as minions.
Holy symbol or symbols: To Be Added
Role in the pantheon: Elaborate on this for us please?
Practices: I am guessing this is what the followers do?

I'll make a NS when I see a few more of the Gods, although I might use a more polished sheet than what is present in the OP.

Name: Natahur, The All-Father, The Three-faced, The Tidebringer
Powers: Natahur is the God of the Water, Life, Time and Creation, he is also seen as the god of scholars and teachers.
Holy symbol or symbols: Natahur is said to have three faces, one of a child, one of a man and one of a elder, so that he may see the past, the present and the future. They Legend however says that Natahur himself never truly knows which head is seeing what. Thanks to that the symbol of Natahur are three circles aligned next to each other. Another symbol of Natahur is a wave symbol, representing the tide. Another story about Natahur is that the tide is his heartbeat, and every time the tide goes in and out his divine heart did another beat. As his holy animal many see the seagull, because it shows weary seaman that land and fish is near.
Role in the pantheon: Some cults see Natahur as the creator of Mankind, who created them from the foam of the sea. Especially scholars see him as the head of the pantheon even if this is not true.
Practices: Followers of the three faced tend to build many statues to him. In coastal regions or schools Natahur is often depicted with his three heads. Also typical are burials at sea by his followers, this happens often by throwing the deceased at ebb in the water at the beach and speaking prayers till the tide carries him away. Ritual Sacrifices are unusual but not completely unlikely.

So no one answered my question. Would it be possible for a god to care for a mortal?

Oh sorry, yes it is.
The god can for example grant mortals visions or my god for example could let them be the lone survivor of a shipwreck.

Edit: We also have enough Gods now.

So a god Sheltering my War chief from the harshness of the desert and raising him wouldn't be out of character?

EDIT: Leaving this up just in case you're okay with another deity, if not, I probably won't be joining with a nation.

Name: Urania (Goddess)
Powers: Urania is the Goddess of intelligence and curiosity, and as such has the power to give someone an idea or information. She is also the Goddess of exploration, often helping people attempting to discover something. To complement her role in exploration, she is the Goddess of the Sky, and by extension, the wind. She can control the wind across a region or in a localized area, and many of her followers believe that she can speak through it.
Holy symbol or symbols: Urania's most common symbol is a vague silhouette of a bird (some believe it to be a dove).
Role in the pantheon: Urania is usually considered a minor deity, but some cults believe that she is the patron Goddess of the entire human species. Explorers usually pray to her quite often, in the hopes of making a great discovery. However, as she is one of the few deities that can communicate with mortals in a conventional manner, many consider her to be one of the most powerful.
Practices: Followers of Urania partake in various symbolic rituals, usually involving some sort of hunt for an object or a simple race to see who can get furthest from the starting point in the allotted time. These rituals are non-specific, and can vary from town to town. Interestingly, there is no place of worship like a church, worship is instead carried out through the rituals and by serving knowledge. Thus, many followers become explorers and scholars. Sacrifices are not common, but it is often believed that sacrificing a newly discovered animal or even plant will grant those carrying out the sacrifice the favor or Urania (Many because it is believed that Urania herself wishes for new experiences). These sacrifices are the only ritual which is specific in it's instructions, and if the slightest mistake is made then the sacrifice is considered to be less worthwhile (though it is still believed that Urania may favor them, simply because of the intent of serving her).

If that whole "talking through the wind" thing is too OP, I can take it out.
