EC is just starting to use lasers at an experimental level with their elite forces.

And I think erryone already agreed that the current level of armor is at the light exoskeleton level, not power armor because of the European Consolidation precedent.

Apparently space forces do exist. Or at least the Asian Federation believes they do, as Duck has equipped them with orbital weapons that possess similarities to the kinetic-bombardment satellites of Project Thor:

I'm trying to figure out why lasers are still experimental weapons in 2035. And why one player faction has successfully branded itself as the most advanced civilization on the planet.

Being remotely feasible in logistics or capability compared to any sort of ballistic or missile based alternative, yes, they'd be very experimental, if that.

Same here. Especially since the USA is looking at deploying them.

As for the power armor, it is an exoskeleton. But since an exoskeleton would allow for increased mobility and carrying heavier loads, extra armor was strapped on there for the Army (which would be deployed in large-scale engagements). The Marines, on the other hand, use an unarmored exoskeleton with the purpose of increased mobility. The pictures are rough ideas, not what they actually look like. Especially since the Army one has "Marines" painted right on it.

Space forces are probably nothing beyond the mentioned kinetic satellites and stations and shuttles.

As for the EC's app saying its the most advanced, I always interpret that as it means they think there the most advanced, not necessarily that they are.

But that project was cancelled in like the early 2000s after it was generally accepted as a failure. The navy does have a fetish for laser based weapons to destroy missiles, but not for like laser guns and stuff.
