[IC] An Unusual City

Alex woke up bright and early, remembering he had a new job that day, and he needed to make a good first impression. He was going to be a counselor at the local college. He made himself a coffee, to go, and got ready before heading out of the door and to the school. Once there he was taken to his desk by a receptionist and given some time to set up.

Julia stood. "My name is Julia and I like music." She sat down.

Kyle stood to his feet. He looked around the room. They were all interesting people. He kind of felt out of place because of he didn't think he was the least bit interesting. Now his sister that was a different story. Ivy's picture should appear in the dictionary next to the word interesting. "Hello. My name is Kyle. The is my first year of college. I like to paint when I have a chance."

"If no one else would like to introduce themselves than we will be moving on." The professor said. The classes went on for hours it seemed but when it was finally over we where released for a lunch break..

After setting up his office space, Alex put a poster on the door of said office, announcing drop-in sessions for that day, a chance to have an informal chat about any issues. He wasn't sure what to expect from the people who turned up, he wasn't even sure anyone would, but he still had to approach teachers for referrals as well.

Julia took notes studiously throughout the class but was relieved when it was over. She honestly had no idea what she would be doing for lunch. She thought about it as she stretched her muscles after having sat for so long. It would all depend on her father. If Professor Drake was in one of his more lucid and comprehensive states, then he would be here at the University, having gone to work. In that case she would eat with her father or wait for him if he was giving a lecture. If he was less than sane today, well, Julia could only hope that he stayed in the house.

Katsumi walked up to Kyle and asked "umm.. your new here right? Welcome to Ikebukero." His voice was smooth and his accent was formal. Then he smiled and asked "How about you join me for lunch on the roof? It is a popular location on campus.."

Kaiden lay back on the roof in a more concealed corner, lunch still boxed and wrapped up beside him. The tall redhead wasn't fully asleep, more in a halfway state for the time being, but he actually wanted to eat before he fell asleep fully. Perhaps I should sit up for now, then, so I don't drift off completely before I get the chance... Then again, the pillow he had made with his jacket was really comfortable, especially with the fluffy lining he had sewn into it... I'm sure it will be fine if I lie here just a little longer...

Julia left the classroom and walked down the hall to her father's office. The TA gave her a sad smile and simply told her Professor Drake didn't show up today. The TA understood the precariousness of her father's mental state. Julia just shrugged and thanked the TA before heading out. She decided to eat on the roof. She got lunch and took the elevator and then the stairs up to the rooftop. There were tables and chairs for sitting, and part of it was used for a roof garden, and another part was used for the astronomy class. Julia found a tabre and took a seat.

Kaiden lay back on the roof in a more concealed corner, lunch still boxed and wrapped up beside him. The tall redhead wasn't fully asleep, more in a halfway state for the time being, but he actually wanted to eat before he fell asleep fully. Scifer then as if falling from a near by sky scrapper pounced on Kiaden and hopped right off as he walked away smiling. He had business to take care of and knew just how to do it.

With the wind suddenly knocked out of him, Kaiden jolted awake and cringed in pain before collapsing back on the flat surface. Eating was definitely out of the question now that his stomach had been used as a trampoline, and he definitely wasn't moving as long as he was in pain. Still holding onto his stomach with one hand, he reached into the folds of his jacket-pillow with the other and pulled out a real pillow to throw at the retreating figure. Without even looking over to make sure it hit, he pulled his jacket and lunch container over to the garden area in the hopes that the plants would provide some more shelter from the maniacs who seemed so bent on disturbing his almost-sleep. There wasn't much point in fighting when he could just take another nap, right? And some rest would probably help his stomach recover enough for him to eat something, right?

"Hey man! Mind if I sit here for lunch?" Eren said loudly as he smiled and ran up to take a seat. He would not take no for an answer so he just sat across from you.. "My name Eren! The totally awesome and single boy looking for his soul mate... and this my friend happens to be where most the girls have lunch on the roof witch is why I'm here." "So Your name is?" Eren was very talkative and a bit flamboyant...

He didn't really mind if someone decided to sit amongst the plants as well, but he hoped that he didn't expect too much from him during his nap time. "Ah...Kaiden..." He looked over to the spot next to him and placed his jacket down to lie down again. "Um...maybe it doesn't matter, but you know I'm not one of the girls, right? So why here specifically...?"

The redhead stared at him for a minute longer before he flopped down onto his jacket-pillow, hair falling over his eyes a bit. "That sounds tiring...I'm going to sleep instead..." He didn't really understand exactly what kind of reasoning the other boy was using, but at that moment, he was too sleepy to really care.

Kyle silently followed the others to the roof. He was deep in thought and not really paying attention to the others. He debated going home for lunch. He really should check on Ivy. There was no telling what mischief she would get into unsupervised. But when he called her after class she had been happily working in the studio on her next sculpture.

Julia looked around. A lot of people from her last class were here. She smiled at the few that looked her way and continued eating lunch.

She walked to his table and stood in front of it. "Hi, am I bothering you? If I am, I can go. I just saw your sign, you must be the new counselor, eh? Welcome to Ikebukuro University."

Alex smiled at the girl who approached. "No, you're not bothering me. In fact I'm glad you came along. It would seem getting people to voluntarily see a counselor is similar to pulling teeth." He chuckled, a tinge of a British accent coming through. "Thank you for the warm welcome. I am indeed the new counselor."
