Just as she was starting to get better used to the scary atmosphere, the sound of what she thought to have been a gun shocked a small scream from her throat. She would surely be embarrassed about it later, losing what little composure she thought she had over the effects for a game, but right now she only managed to clutch tighter to whoever it was that she had accidentally grabbed when the lights went out.

When she heard Zack's voice inquiring about everyone else's safety, she swallowed and did her best not to sound too shaken by the events. "I'm fine, thank you. I'm sorry about that." In the back of her mind, she worried slightly that her scream might have kept the others from listening properly and that they might miss an important clue because of it. "What about everyone else?"

As the lights cut out Jade could feel something latch onto her arm, most likely the little rabbit she had been sitting by before. She remained completely still, eyes scanning the dark carefully for some type of movement, but it never came. Instead her ears were met with the sound of a gunshot, the hands on her arm tightening. Taking a controlled breath to calm her nerves, Jade pushed her chair back in toward the table. "I'm alright as well, the shots didn't sound as if they came from this room. However..." Silently, Jade counted the number of people she felt in the room with her, a member of the game suddenly popping up in her head. "If this is part of the game, then we have nothing to worry about. Never the less, someone should check on the fox spirit who left before the lights cut out."

As Lazar finished eating, a butler entered the dining room stating what the next course of the meal would be and if the participants needed him to go over the rules again. Lazar went to ask the butler if he would but didn't get the chance to as the lights cut out. Wait... I can sort of see... I'm being horribly rude, my hood still being on... let me just... Lazar removed his hood as a gunshot resounded through the mansion. He stood up, grabbing his lantern and began counting how many wisps were there. Many were missing, probably wandering the mansion and putting minor things into disarray. Perfect... a fun thing for me to do has turned into hide-n'-seek with the wisps. He heard someone ask about how everyone was. Lazar went to speak, quickly ending when he realized that they might not even know that he's there. He remembered that there was a china display on the end of the dining room farther away from him with a cabinet beneath that would be large enough for him to hide in. He quietly moved to it, opened it to see that, thankfully, there wasn't anything in it, and hid in it. I doubt that any of them noticed me but... nah.

"The fox...?" Mocha looked up toward the voice of whoever she was apparently clinging on to. Was that Jade's voice? Yes, it sounded like her. Although still embarrassed her to be clinging onto someone she had just met, she didn't want to let go until she could see properly, as all she could currently make out were slightly vague shapes. "I hope he's alright...I wonder what's going on wherever he went."

Jade blinked the last remaining spots from her vision, reconstruction the room in her head based off of what she saw just moments before the lights shut off. *Well, it's no night vision but it'll have to do for now.* She thought to herself, lightly pulling on Mocha's arm to signal her movement. "Suddenly shutting off the light seems rather rude to me. We haven't even finished our meals yet." Moving to steady the girl so as to prevent tripping while the walked, Jade made for the exit with slight confidence. "Excuse us, Mochi and I will are going to check up on Mr. Okori. Best of luck to you all." Her tone held a smile that was less than sincere and a little more than just sneaky as the gargoyle dragged the rabbit along with her.

The rabbit-eared girl rose carefully from her seat as she felt Jade pulling her up. By this point, she could see thing at least a little more clearly. Though her night vision wasn't exactly perfect, she could still hear everything around her very well, which served as a good supplement to what she could see. Her hearing was always better than her eyesight, anyway. "Ah? Are we going now?" She couldn't tell exactly what the change in tone had meant, but it seemed to be teasing, perhaps? "Oh, be careful of the chairs..." She followed along with the gargoyle, trying to make sure that nothing was in the way as they walked.

Jade stepped around the aforementioned chairs, guiding Mochi until they had left the dining room into a more open space. By this point her eyes had adjusted completely to the dark, figures becoming more and more clear as time went on. She couldn't see perfectly in the dark, but she could now see enough to move around safely. "Thanks for the warning." Jade smiled knowing that it couldn't be seen but hoping the super rabbit ears could hear it. "You doing alright?"

"I'm fine. I guess still a little spooked from all that." Mocha answered a bit quietly, referring back to what she had assumed was the start of the game. Was that a real gun that was fired? And what exactly was the rest of it with the odd scents? Perhaps a few of those things were meant to keep the. Guessing as to what really happened? "I wonder if the lights will turn on soon. They've been out for a while, haven't they? Or maybe we're supposed to turn them on again? Perhaps we should check the switches on our way."

"I sure hope they will turn on soon. For a creature of the night, I didn't develop much of a night vision. That's more of a male's thing." Jade shrugged her shoulders and continued moving, looking for switches in the dark. "Just keep the memory of those scents and sounds in your head. That could be valuable information. Anything we see or hear from now on should be approached with caution but assumed as part of the game." Eyes drifting from corner to corner, Jade spotted a door and had a thought. "We should locate the basement, see if we can trip the breaker and get some of these lights back on."

Mocha nodded in agreement, but soon realized that probably wasn't 't the best way to communicate. "Okay...but we should probably find a light source we can take with us first. There's no sense in anyone going around blind, especially in an unfamiliar area." Tugging slightly at Jade's arm, she looked around for a moment before attempting to tug the other girl in the direction of what she assumed was the kitchen. "I'm not certain if it's the same here, but most houses usually have candles or something in the kitchen, right? We should try to get some if we can."

The game it seemed had officially started. He tried to remember who had ben in the room with him and exactly where they had been. Was one of he dinners the criminal? Who had been shot? He needed answers. He headed out f the room looking for others.

Blinking in surprise when the lights suddenly returned, Mocha stopped in her attempt to bring Jade to the kitchen and rubbed her eyes. "Ah...that's bright..." It took a minute for her eyes to adjust again, but when they did, she took the opportunity to take a good look around the hallway. "Well... I guess that solves the problem with the lights, but what now?" She thought for a moment before turning back to the other girl. "Should we try to find out more about what we heard while we were in the dining room?"

Jade nodded in the darkness, allowing herself to be pulled by Mocha. "That's a good call, to the kitchen." Just as the pair began moving in the direction of the kitchen, the lights flashed back on, causing the gargoyle to wince and cover her eyes. "Mmm, I see how it is." She groaned, shaking the spots from her vision before looking around her. "It does fix our light problem for now, but no telling if it's fixed for good. Let's stop by the kitchen to see if there's anything useful we can grab before exploring the rest of the house. No need to be caught unprepared twice."

Mocha nodded in agreement with the other girl's decision. "Yeah, you're probably right. There's no telling what kinds of things might happen while we're here, right?" Turning back in the direction she thought the kitchen was in before, she kept walking until she found a door. Pushing it open, she peered around the doorway, trying to assess the situation before entering the room fully. It couldn't hurt to be a little cautious.

Zack looked up to see Mocha and Jade reenter the room. "We should stick together. I think we should search the house to see if anyone was injured by that gun shot. After all someone is suppose to be murdered right? Lets see if we can find out the who, what, where, why, and how." He suggested. They needed more information fast.

Jade poked her head in around Mocha, smiling at the boy they had been conversing with earlier. "That is the name of the game." She commented, pushing the door open the rest of the way. "First let's pick up supplies from the kitchen, then we can work on finding things out. Do either of you have a particularly good nose? We might be able to find the gun shot from the smell of smoke."

"I'm not sure. I think I could find it. But I dont know how close I'd have to be. I've never rally measured it. I know my nose is strong than a human's. I just dont know how much that will help us." Zack answered.

"There's a first time for everything. I guess now is your time to test yourself. C'mon." Jade nodded, pushing through another door in hopes of finding the kitchen, and perhaps something sharp as well.

The rabbit-eared girl wasn't really sure if she could perhaps help in sniffing out the gun smoke. Her sense of smell was slightly stronger than that of a human's, but probably not much meant for tracking. She honestly hoped that Zack would be more capable than she was. "At any rate, getting supplies is good," Mocha mumbled quietly as she followed to the kitchen. She took a good look around the room she had just followed Jade into, taking note of as much as she could. "Um...there has to be something here...I'll look for candles or a lantern first. Candles might be in a cupboard, right?" She questioned herself as she moved to search, soon realizing that she would probably need to find matches as well.

"That would be my guess." Zack told her. He watched around the room sniffing. Which probably looked as odd as it felt. But he was hoping on finding something that might help them decide on a direction. The house was HUGE he had no idea how many rooms it had but it seemed like alot. He wondered if the place had secret passage ways and if they should use them if they found any.
