But every time I Google tropics I get palm tree islands and huts. It's not telling me where the tropics are. Since I mean, tropics are pretty much pacific islands, south american rain forests, indonesia, south east asia, parts of india not the thar desert and sub-saharan africa on earth, but this isn't earth. So where the tropics at?

Yeah, laugh at my bicycle infantry. Its funny how the presence of bicycles can turn the march of ten thousand soldiers into an almost humorous thing. I readily admit that. But they also have a large number of tactical, operational, and strategic advantages in this pre-mechanized army setting. At bare minimum allowing troops to march longer, faster, and harder for equivalent exertion. That, and I think they are cool. Which is always a factor in a steampunk setting.
