Think of the conflicts that could have been avoided by chocolate-man! Anyhow, I digress. In answer to your questions, Bastion, Metahumans make up about 0.5% of the population or around that number. They're spread out though so their population density isn't overly high. Exceptions are big cities like LA, New York or Washington. Yes, powers are completely heretical. As I mentioned in the OP, the government were involved in something called Project Genesis in which they tried to breed Metahuman super-soldiers using two powerful metas. That power you proposed actually sounds really cool! I imagine such a character would be valuable to any side!

Good luck with that... In theory our characters are very similar, where yours gave in and became stronger, mine didn't and has a rough time usuing others powers because she does not use force. I think a fight between them would be very interesting.

His body is a dark blue color, his armor does it's best to hide his insides but some of his inner workings occasionally show themselves when he stretches or is damaged. His eyes glow red during combat, but outside of a fight his visor glows a bright blue. Powers:

• Super Strength: He can lift a garbage truck with some trouble, and shatter a small boulder. This can also translate to other uses or limbs.
• Super Speed: He can run just short of the sound barrier.
• Energy Projection: He can fire off super heated plasma in any direction he chooses thanks to his arm mounted cannon.

Weaknesses: As he does process a mechanical body he must come in for maintenance at certain times. Although his body is made of advanced materials he is still affected by extreme temperatures, such as absolute zero, in such low temperatures his AI core will forcefully shut down in order to protect itself. Alternatively while he can survive the heat of a single explosion, repeated exposures or an increase of, will begin to melt his joints together. But his weaknesses aren't all external, due to the unstable nature of his power core it can often overheat, it will overheat especially if he attempts to draw on multiple abilities at once. For example, if he taps into his speed and energy blasts, he will be able to maintain the combo for a few minutes before overheating and forcing a shutdown. Additionally, while he is trained with the utmost precision, and possessing a high end body, his actions are still limited by his personality. Upon hiring the Dr. Smith they offered him continuous and unlimited funding if he provides them a working war machine capable of standing toe to toe with any meta human, and so it was Phillip worked tirelessly on designs, calculations and formulas. Eventually he had constructed a working body, but as his time with the company grew he began to see precisely what he was doing. He was desperate when he accepted but upon building the war machine he wondered if it was truly a wise idea, this machine would be free to attack whomever it chooses, with no conciseness to temper it's actions. Unable to build a truly sentient and caring AI program he, with the CEO's approval, sought out a 'willing' subject. To the outside Dr. Smith was offering an experimental cancer cure, but known only by the doctor and the highest officials in the company, they would be removing said patients consciousness. Of course, there were thousands of applicants, but the Doctor chose the first person he saw on the list, Hayden Williams. Upon acceptance Hayden was brought to the laboratory the Doctor was working in, wherein he was told to lie on a table and accept anesthesia. The operation took much longer than anticipated, removing the brain was a careful matter, but the doctor managed to place Haydens consciousness into a tiny chip and attached it to his robot. Trust me when I say I speak from experience. Catholic boys Grammar school ftw. Anyhow, most of the Old Testament Rulings have been cast out but most of Jesus' teachings have been held very firmly. The term "false prophets" can be taken very differently but I imagine that most in the church would be very opposed to Metahumans. I suppose the better ones who live a "Christian" life would be more easily accepted but the point still stands.

I originally planned for him to obtain upgrades over the course of the RP, since he does serve under a corporation and a scientist. As for technopaths, I don't know what those are but I imagine they're like Magneto, in which case i'd like to point out my guy is half sci-fi metal and half sci-fi plastic. Brief History: Due to the increased appearance of Meta humans many corporations, specifically private security, wanted to have an advantage of some sort against these people. A meta under their control, their power house to shove around or to order. Their solution was to hire the best in robotics, Dr. Phillip Smith. Phillip before his contract was desperate for funds, obtaining the metals he needed was overly expensive, and without any form of funding he was quickly loosing money. Upon hiring the Dr. Smith they offered him continuous and unlimited funding if he provides them a working war machine capable of standing toe to toe with any meta human, and so it was Phillip worked tirelessly on designs, calculations and formulas. Eventually he had constructed a working body, but as his time with the company grew he began to see precisely what he was doing. He was desperate when he accepted but upon building the war machine he wondered if it was truly a wise idea, this machine would be free to attack whomever it chooses, with no conciseness to temper it's actions. Unable to build a truly sentient and caring AI program he, with the CEO's approval, sought out a 'willing' subject. To the outside Dr. Smith was offering an experimental cancer cure, but known only by the doctor and the highest officials in the company, they would be removing said patients consciousness. Of course, there were thousands of applicants, but the Doctor chose the first person he saw on the list, Hayden Williams. Upon acceptance Hayden was brought to the laboratory the Doctor was working in, wherein he was told to lie on a table and accept anesthesia. The operation took much longer than anticipated, removing the brain was a careful matter, but the doctor managed to place Haydens consciousness into a tiny chip and attached it to his robot. Upon booting up the robot seemed to contain no memories. At this moment the doctor was pleased he had saved a life, but distraught he had retained none of his previous life. Unlike the doctor the company was simply pleased to have it online, and immediately sent it into a simulated battle-zone full of civilians and meta human terrorists. However in the middle of the simulation, when a terrorist held up a hostage Hayden hesitated on the killing blow. The company was unsatisfied, they had wanted to unthinking death machine capable of standing up to metas, instead they had just gotten another human soldier.

For your first question yes, to the public he's supposed to be an advanced humanoid drone pushing the boundaries of robotics. But only those on the inside know the details. For your second question, to be honest I'm still not quite sure what faction he should be in. If we're allowed to do our own side plots I plan for Hayden to 'awaken' and fight those who control him. I want him to be a hero, but at the start of this he'll be ordered around by the corporation that owns him, and consequently the government. Maybe he's a reformist because the corporation he serves under wants to 'protect' the people, and they'd need their own power house to do it.

Appearance

Samuel is a tall, slender man. He has narrow, graceful features, and a long, straight nose. He has thin lips, and smooth skin. His hair, hanging down to his shoulders, is a pale sandy blonde colour, and his eyes are a light grey. He favours well tailored clothes in a fairly conservative style, and moves in a very smooth, fluid manner.

Absolute Truth

He is able to tell when a person is being dishonest, compel others to tell the truth, see through deceptions and trickery, and he renders people incapable of knowingly conveying anything untrue whenever they're interacting with him. His power works on all mediums and forms of language (voice, writing, text, phone, recording, etc, if he can understand the message, he can tell whether it's true or not). On the downside, it renders him completely incapable of ever telling a lie himself. If he were to attempt to, he would simply be unable to communicate, regardless of the medium used to convey the message. His ability to detect lies doesn't give him specific details. He will know exactly which part of a message is untrue, but not what the truth actually is unless it is revealed to him by other means. While he can compel people to tell the truth, he cannot actually force them to communicate, and so they always have the option of silence, if they know what he's up to. The compulsion to tell the truth isn't forceful, rather, it simply doesn't occur to people that they could do otherwise when they are under the effects of his power. This differs from the way that the power affects Samuel himself, in that he is actually aware at all times that he cannot lie. His ability to detect falsehoods only extends to those which are made knowingly: For example, if a young child were to tell him that Santa Claus was real, he would probably not detect a lie. The exception to this rule is when a message is dictated: in this case, the messenger or transcriber is considered a medium, not the source of the message. His power to see through deceptions and trickery means that he can recognize a forgery or illusion easily, and see through things that are not actually real, though he cannot actually dispel illusions or prevent them from affecting others.

Backstory

Samuel Capricorn grew up in a rich neighbourhood: very rich. His parents were business moguls and investors, but his family life wasn’t the best. His father was a functioning alcoholic, and his parents divorced at an early age, but he learned how to take care of himself. He learned how to work hard and look out for number one. He had my family’s money to help me out, but he knew that it wouldn’t be enough. His father seemed determined to drink it all away, and he lost his job when Samuel was fairly young. Samuel did fairly well in school, and got a part-time job at a casino to help pay his way when he left home, which he did at around sixteen after a particularly bad fight with his father, who disowned him not long after Samuel's powers manifested. He did fairly well for myself, utilizing his powers to ease his way into the lifestyle to which he was accustomed. With his powers in the registry, he never had any particular hardship when it came to finding well-paying jobs. He set about making back what I he lost thus far: the money, the luxury, the easy lifestyle. It was tricky, at first, his powers were hard to master, and it was easy to make enemies when he could not lie to save face or feelings. But with time, he figured it out, and he has since set himself up quite nicely, using the money that he earned from his work to establish Capricorn Consulting, a small business that he uses to coordinate the hiring out of his abilities to a variety of customers. He prefers to take jobs that are legal in nature, but if the price is right and the risk is low, he will occasionally take jobs that are a bit more... grey shaded. Law enforcement typically doesn't look too closely at his work, as he remains quite useful to them. He is currently living a life of relative luxury, having made his way up in the world through the use of his powers and his own natural talents. Samuel is quite paranoid about his personal security, as he knows that his powers make him a target for many people, those who hate Metas, people who have gotten the bad end of any contract he's been involved in, and even the government he occasionally works for, which doesn't have the cleanest history when it comes to the treatment of Metahumans. He is a great believer in the value of civility. He will do his best to remain polite and charming in any situation, though he does not always succeed, as sometimes his emotions get the better of him. He is ambitious, in a way; though he does not aspire to fill any grand role, he looks out for his own interests and seeks to further them where possible. He has a quick mind and a sharp wit, which some might see as cunning. He is a proud man, which some may see as egotistical, or perhaps narcissistic. He has a confident, charismatic air about him, and can be rather persuasive when he has a mind to be. He likes to pamper himself from time to time, and as such is rather fond of his little comforts. It’s dog-eat-dog world out there, and he's not above playing dirty if it’s in his interest to do so. He may not be the most honourable fellow, but that’s not to say that he doesn't have a sense of loyalty. He can be quite dedicated to a cause once he's set his mind to it.

Was Chief of Staff in the previous administration during the LA crisis. Was tapped by the President as her running mate in 2016. While not trusting of all metas he feels that killing them is horrible. Speaker Roland Martin, Speaker of the US House and the President's opponent on every issue. Director Ryan Franklin, FBI Director Elena's boss at the FB Agent Kumiko Fujiyama. Assistant Director Elena Reyes right hand at the FBI Meta human unit. The Director: a mysterious intelligence and security boss for an unnamed agency. Often seen lurking in the back of Press conferences.
