Prologue: Collect the Keys

The worlds were at peace, or at least the ones within the World Defense System, or WDS', reach anyway. Mickey knew that there were many more worlds out there, many more. More than what could be gone to in any single person's lifetime. With the WDS though, maybe they could bring peace to all worlds and be rid of the Heartless once and for all. The mouse king, who seemed a bit older than he was back when Sora was still around, was sitting upon his throne, having a conversation with Queen Minnie. Suddenly though, to break the silence and serenity of this day a familiar voice suddenly broke out from the entrance of the throne room.

"Your Majesty, your Majesty, something is wrong!" shouted out the boisterous court mage, Donald Duck. He could be very loud, to the point where he was able to be heard from the entrance of the expansive throne room, the keen mouse's hearing of Mickey making it even easier to pick up Donald's words. Sensing his pal's urgency, with a quick hop he got up from his throne and moved towards Donald with haste, the mage breathing a bit to catch his breath, hands on his knees as he stopped running when Mickey got to him.

"What's wrong Donald?"

"Its the WDS, your Majesty. It picked up something strange". Donald's voice, while urgent, seemed to possess a hint of confusion in its tone as if he really had no idea what it picked up.

"Was it some new form of Heartless? Or perhaps Nobodies?"

To this question, the mage shook his head. "No, which is what's strange. Its some type of signature we have never seen before".

Mickey let out a 'hmmm' in contemplation as he held his chin in a contemplative way. The WDS usually sent signatures when they were potentially threatening. Really meant for detecting Heartless and Nobodies who were threats, to send a signature that was neither was a strange situation indeed. "Perhaps its time to summon the newest Keybladers who were detected by the WDS".

Another of the system's functions was that it could pick up on the presence of Keybladers and give their locations as long as they were within its reach. It was quite useful, in case they needed to borrow the power of the Keyblade. Not that they needed it much anymore, but Mickey figured it would be good experience giving them this mission for when an emergency did appear. Plus, the World Defense Committee was actually very busy with other matters at the moment.

"Your Majesty, are you sure we should be sending them on such a mysterious mission with such little experience?"

Another voice spoke now. Into the throne room had walked a young woman, who got a bit closer to the pair before speaking. She appeared to be about in her mid twenties, bearing black, short purplish red hair and sky blue eyes. Her face had a few familiar features to it. She wore a rather familiar outfit, which looked a bit re purposed to suit her with the large, baggy shorts being a skirt instead.

"Ah, Sorami. Good timing, I assume you heard?"

Sorami was Sora's and Kairi's descendant, and a Keyblader herself in fact. Despite being quite the distant descendant, as it has been a couple hundred years, Sorami looked surprisingly similar to both Sora and Kairi. She was a member of the World Defense Committee who's main responsibility was to go explore worlds outside of the WDS' reach in order to help further expand its reach by placing its systems upon the worlds.

"Yes. Ami also picked up the strange signature and, since I was on my way to my own next mission, sent me to pass along the message. According to her, the signature is rather small and its signal is weak, but the fact that it is something we have never seen before is the main problem. Which is why I must ask if you're sure sending in the new Keybladers for this mission is such a good idea".

Mickey just gave a nod, a small smile appearing on his face. "Sure they are a bit inexperienced, but I believe in them. Plus..." the smile on Mickey's face seemed to grow a bit in the moment in a somewhat tender way. "I will be sending a dear old friend of mine to assist them".

Sorami just scratched the back of her head, giving a small giggle. "Well, its impossible to win against that answer your Majesty. If you'd like, I will go to Rune Factory for you and bring the Keybladers there".

"I appreciate that Sorami. If that's the case... Donald, I want you to go to Wonderland. Ill send Goofy to that more recently touched world", a Touched World being used as a term to identify worlds within the reach of the WDS, "and I... will go to see my old friend".

Donald and Sorami both nodded, both of them running out of the room. Mickey walked over to Minnie, who looked at him with a bit of concern. "How are you feeling?" She could tell that Mickey was a bit anxious about all of this.

The King just lightly averted his eyes before heaving a sigh. "To be honest, I don't know. I am hoping that this signature is a small glitch or something docile, since it truly is nothing we have seen before... plus... I am a bit worried about Oz".

"It has been a long time. I am sure though that it'll be alright, I have faith in your bond".

The King had been comforted by his Queen's words, smiling at her and giving a small nod. "Thanks Minnie. You always know exactly what to say to cheer me up". With that, he took out his Keyblade and pointed it at the throne, a beam of light shooting from the blade as it unlocked the lock beneath his throne. They had much better security since the last time Maleficent attacked the castle, including a lock for the way to the Hall of the Cornerstone that had no key, other than a Keyblade.

Renovations have also been done since then, a maze pretty much being down there now that lead to several secure locations in the castle. With the help of Merlin's magic, an ever changing maze was created. Luckily those who knew its secret could progress it easily, that information only being known to few. Soon enough, Mickey had made it to his destination. A room containing a capsule similar to the ones that Sora was asleep in, only it looked a bit older. There was a green light on it, indicating that whoever inside was ready to awaken.

"Its time to get up... old friend". Without any further hesitation, Mickey pressed the green lit button, the capsule opening with a small hiss as its occupant was awakened.

A bit later after that, a beam of light would drop Sorami onto the outskirts of Joshua's and Amaya's village far away from prying eyes. After that she entered the village, admiring how peaceful it was. No Heartless in sight for now, as what Heartless did appear were quickly dealt with by the WDS. Arriving at the house of those she was looking for, she gave a knock on the door and waited for now. She had been to this world before, as not but a couple years ago she managed to install a WDS system secretly in this world so that the WDS could expand its reach here.

In Wonderland entered a Duck who had once traversed this strange world before. So he knew his way around. Donald was in a hurry, wanting to find the two Keybladers here as quickly as possible, so he was moving probably even faster than the rabbit with the watch did. If Ace or his guard happened to be near the entrance of the palace, they would hear a strange voice arguing with some of the card soldiers to let him inside to see the prince, but naturally doing their jobs, they weren't having any of it and it appeared as though a fight would break out if something wasn't done.

Trampoli was a very peaceful village, with mountains to west and the ocean towards the east. It was the middle of summer and the heat was sweltering, easily in the high eighties, possibly into the nineties. Joshua lived with Amaya and Rose, whose house was in the center of town near a flight of steps that lead up to an old amphitheater area. All around the air, little spirits known as runeys floated around, gathering around whenever someone looked up towards the sky. If one looked into the distance, they would see what looked like a flying whale made of rock in the sky, known by locals as Whale Island. Several villagers where running around on their daily chores or simply having fun, several of them saying hi to Sorami as they passed her.

When Sorami knocked on the door, there wasn't an immediate response other then the sound of running feet on the other side. The sounds stopped and the door opened, revealing a little girl no older then four years old with short, golden blond hair and eyes the color of purple amethyst wearing a simple white dress. The girl looked up at Sorami silently before turning around.
"Mommy! Sissy! Joshie! Stranger!" She said before shutting the door again. There was the sound of more voices before the door opened again, Joshua standing in the little girl's place now

"You need something?" He asked, letting out a yawn, as he had been relaxing/napping on a nearby sofa until the little girl had shouted. Said girl was standing behind him, watching Sorami nervously, something Joshua didn't fail to notice." Elyse, go back to Rose. Uncle Joshie was handle this, okay?"

Elyse nodded and ran back into the house, leaving Joshua and Sorami alone.

"Sorry, Maleficent, but it looks like that plan of yours just hit a little snag!"

"You! How dare you turn your blade against me? Filthy traitor!"

"Can't be a traitor if I was never loyal in the first place, Maleficent."

...

"Another...? Impossible! When? How?"

...

Oswald seemed to twitch slightly in the capsule pod. That was nothing new, though, he'd always been doing that occasionally since they first put him in. By now everyone figured that meant he was dreaming something, and indeed he was. But that particular dream didn't last long enough to reach the end of it. The pod he was in was filled to the top with a medicinal liquid, probably the same stuff Potions and Elixirs were made of. But now that substance began slowly draining away. Once gone the pod started opening with a hiss. Still groggy, Oswald lurched forward awkwardly when the pod fully opened, instinctively catching himself on whoever had awakened him.

"I'm... not dead?" he asked in a tired, sleepy voice. After what had happened there logically shouldn't have been any way for him to have survived. But apparently he did, and here he was now, awakened by... well he didn't realize who it was until the brightness left his eyes, "M-Mickey! Your Majesty!" he exclaimed, hastening to stand himself up to give his old friend the proper respect, "What happened? Did... did we win?" he asked, having apparently lost his consciousness before he knew for sure if they were victorious.

"I still can't believe you are willing to accept that nickname for her, uncle Joshie!" Taunted a female as a young girl moved down the stairs over to joshua's side. She examined the lady. "She isn't from around here her clothing is a dead give away"Amaya commented giving her two cents about the lady before she even spoke.

Amaya wasn't being mean or anything she was just proving a point that she could be very observant if she wanted to since Joshua sometimes think she can't. She laced her fingers together before drapping her arms around his left shoulder resting her hands on top of them. She shakes her head moving some of her snow white hair out of her eyes

So....this was a new experience. Henry Sullivan took a long, satisfied drag on the cigarette as he sat heavily on the heap of metal he guessed used to be a car. It was hard to tell with how mangled most of the scrap in this area was. Must have been stuff caught in the shockwave of one of the bombs when they fell over 200 years ago. He didn't have time to ponder the former state of his seat right now, though. Right now he was more concerned about just what the hell the damn thing that had attacked him was.

It'd been short, not much bigger than a dog. It looked a bit like a kid, in shape. But it had been...black. Inky black, like a shadow. And the eyes...they glowed gold and bright as a Glowing One. It'd taken buckshot like a champ, and the only thing that seemed to hurt it was the...thing in his hand. He guessed it was some kind of sword, but sure as hell not like the katanas that he'd seen those Yakuza boys carrying. It looked evil, but...it felt right, for some reason, in his hand. It'd just sort of appeared during the fight, right in time to catch the sucker in the chest. It'd gone up in smoke after that. And this was coming after all that crazy shit that was going on in New Vegas and the rest of the Mojave.

So now the wastelander sat and smoked, trying to figure out just what the hell was going on. He had the feeling that he wasn't going to like the answer.

"Hell...guess the Good Lord does work in mysterious ways..."

Sorami just smiled a bit. "Good, you're both here. That will save me alot of time". The woman, whose absence of ill intentions could easily be understood by her friendly expression and voice, reached into her pocket and removed a letter. "As your friend may have guessed, I am not from this town, let alone this world. I have come here with a message for you from his majesty, King Mickey". She now handed the letter to Joshua. The envelope itself looked like it was indeed a royal letter, with gold embroidery around the edges and a seal upon the envelope that kept it shut.

The seal itself was red and looked like one larger circle with two other smaller circles atop it. It almost looked like it was made to represent the head of a mouse or something along those lines. After giving them the letter, Sorami would wait for them to read it so that she could answer any questions they had, hoping that they would accept the request, but she would prefectly understand if they did not.

--

Mickey caught the rabbit when Oz fell forward, a bit suddenly surprised at how quickly Oz stood alert when he gained a bit more of an awareness of what was going on. "Easy there old friend". Mickey gave Oz a small smile, just glad to see that the rabbit was doing alright, looking as though he has nearly made a full recovery. Oz's question though made Mickey's smile disappear right from his face, a sheepish scratching of the back of his head being his momentary response.

"We did win, but... we nearly lost you". It was clear that Mickey, despite his usual air of confidence, was having a hard time saying what needed to be said. This wasn't exactly easy news to relay. "The battle with Maleficent left you heavily wounded by her powerful magic, leaving you with cursed wounds that were nearly impossible to heal. As such..." he pointed to the pod behind him, "we had to give you an alternative treatment". The King paused there, gently placing a hand on Oz's shoulder, an apologetic expression on his face.

"I am sorry... old friend. While your wounds were indeed fully healed, the treatment left you asleep for hundreds of years, as your cursed wounds were that great". Pangs of regret were present upon the King's face. He always felt as though he could have done more to help Oz, and thus always secretly took upon himself some of the blame for why Oz had to continuously sleep. While Mickey believed that Oz would definitely awaken one day, the King glad that the day had finally come, he wished that it hadn't taken so long.

He decided to wait in telling Oz his request for his help, since he figured the rabbit could still use some rest, and possibly time to process the news that he had just been given.

"Really? I never would've guess that. I mean, it's not like we've NEVER SEEN HER BEFORE!" Joshua said sarcastically at Amaya's comment that the girl wasn't from around here. Trampoli was a small village and everyone knew everyone who lived there, as well as their likes and dislikes, birthdays, events concerning them, ect. If you saw someone and didn't know them, they were likely either a traveler or a tourist and they were definitely not from the area. He wasn't being mean to her, he was just pointing out that she was stating the obvious here.

Joshua listened to Sorami speak before opening the letter and reading it, allowing Amaya to read it at the same time. When he was done, he handed the letter back to Sorami before speaking.
"Right, so let me get this straight. There are lots of worlds out there we are unaware of and you are from one of them. You help build this giant, what did you call it again? A world defense system to fight off these creatures called Heartless. And you've come here to request our help on behalf of a King... Mickey... Rrrriight, and I'm one of the four Divine Dragons in a human disguise." He said." Listen, that is a really nice story and all, put together really well and all, but unless you have some sort of proof to go with all of this, I suggest you find someone more gullible to play this on. You'll find more success."

Ace would have been off training in using his Keyblade if the Cheshire Cat hadn't spoken in his riddlestic way to tell him that he should be in today's session of the court. The last thing he wanted to see was his mother yell "OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!" to another citizen that did some wrongdoing. She was very much like the Queen before her. At least she was in public. Behind closed doors she was kind of different. Still mad, but different. Ace really didn't like any of this. He was the one of the closest things to sane in this Topsy-turvy world of theirs. He was bored just listening on to these ramblings. As much as he didn't like the beheading aspect of the court he was still hoping for excitement. That damn Cat better not have tricked him into coming here for no reason.

Before the sentence could be issued he heard some yelling and rambling over by the entrance. Could this be what Cheshire was talking about? He wasn't going to let this pass him up if he did. Ace jumped from his seat and ran towards the entrance before jumping over the "guilty" party and stopped behind him. "You're free to go. As the Prince of Heart I declare it so." Dammit. He hated when he rhymed on accident. It made him feel a bit crazier than he was. He then started running towards the entrance to see what was going on.

His mother was visibly angry as her face flushed with red and steam poured from her ears. "You dare interrupt my sentencing and free the riff raff!? Off with---"

"Dear, you can't cut off your son's head." Ace's father riskily interrupted.

"Oh, yes I can." She retorted. "I'm the Queen of Hearts. I can do anything I please."

"Yes, of course, but he's also the only heir to your throne. You need him."

"I suppose you're right. Just this once. Don't make a habit out of it." To make sure that he didn't make a habit out of it he she swung her staff causing him to whimper a bit before getting smacked with it.

Ace could hear what was going on with his parents as he neared the entrance. He didn't really care for it. When he arrived he saw as the guards were preparing to fight what seemed like a duck? He had seen weirder things in this land.

"Step aside Royal Flush. Let this duck pass."

"That was... almost a little too convincing."

"It had to be done. It's the only way."

"Wait. Let me give you something before you go."

"What are you-?"

"In your hand, take this Key. So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking, its wielder you shall one day be. And you will find me, friend - no ocean will contain you then. No more borders around, or below, or above, so long as you champion the ones you love."

"Why did you do that?"

"It'll keep you from losing your way..."

...

Oswald breathed a sigh of relief. They'd won. His mission was finally over. He still remembered the night he first received the mission from the King. Back then he was ready and willing to go any and all lengths to help his friend, and protect his home. He still was, even today, of course. Even so, having to spend so long playing the traitor was an experience he'd rather not repeat. Besides, he doubted any dark forces still out there would trust his word anymore after what happened to Maleficent. His and the King's plan was indeed a brilliant one at the time, but unfortunately it was also the kind of gambit that would only work once. After that their enemies would forever be more cautious about falling for such a ruse ever again.

But the rabbit noticed something. Despite their apparent victory, the King still seemed saddened by the something, "Your Majesty... what are you not telling me?" he didn't have to say anything more. Mickey explained the whole story. The wounds Maleficent inflicted were cursed by her dark magic, and so Oswald needed an alternate form of healing. Then the King really dropped a bomb shell, revealing that the healing process took a couple hundred years at least. So, Oswald had effectively been in a two-century long coma, recuperating from his last mission. The rabbit wiped a hand on his forehead, this news was quite a doozy to take in. Still, he managed to keep at least some of his composure.

"So, what happens now?" asked Oswald in a surprisingly accepting tone. Ever the loyal subject, he was. Even after all of this, he was still ready to get back on the horse, as it were. He took a breath and then remembered something, "Hold on, I remember a Keyblade, do I still-?" he cut himself off, holding out a hand to see for himself. Sure enough, a Keyblade of steel color and a bronze-like handlebar appeared in a small flash of light. That Keyblade, it's very existence in his hand owed to when The King performed an impromptu Inheritance Ceremony on Oswald in secret before he left on his previous mission, had finally appeared to Oswald during the battle against Maleficent, its appearance being one of the key things that saved his life in fact.

"If you have another mission for me, then I'm ready to accept it, Your Majesty." Oswald said with a salute-like posture. His own Keyblade's name was Unwavering Resolve, and he intended to do that name justice.

"Joshua...Our guest is telling the truth there are other worlds out there and a lot of them are strange. I know cause I am not originally from this world but Lucus was. There is a king and queen and yes they are mice but the king is very powerful."Said Rose moving over to them holding a mixing bowl in front of her stirring the ingredients inside. "You and Amaya have a wonderful gift and there are others out there that need your help so they don't suffer the same fate as Amaya's father did."she explained before looking at the woman "Forgive him, he isn't the type to trust people out of the blue..Please come in cookies are almost ready"

"you are being a meanie Joshua...what if the woman is right...my gut is saying to trust her...what's the worst that can happen if we believe her?"asked Amaya punching his arm lightly

Well, Sorami was about to try and prove it to them, but it appeared that some other woman did the trick. She was probably their mother, or perhaps a surrogate. Regardless, if this woman believed her, then perhaps proving it to the two of them wouldn't be so hard. So she looked at Joshua and began to speak once again after both Amaya and Rose spoke. "Well, if you still aren't convinced, then how about I show you two the very system that has been protecting this entire world from the Heartless for the past two years?" She knew exactly where it was.

Worlds that weren't either in the natural reach of the WDS or in the reach of one of its expansions had to have a special system installed upon it, which was one of Sorami's missions. So unlike her ancestor Sora, she was actually quite good with computers, having learned from the current leader of the World Defense Committee herself. She remembered coming to this world two years ago to install it in secret, so she figured showing it to two other Keybladers would hold no harm. If anything, it would only help since if they knew where it was they would be able to protect it if they decided to refuse the request.

---

Mickey chuckled happily at Ozwald's indeed unwavering resolve. He was glad to have such a loyal and dependable friend, and just as Oz was willing to help him, so to was Mickey willing to help Oz. After all, the King was a person who would do anything to help his friends. "I do have another mission for you in fact. Of course, I would like for you to get more rest first, but I shall let you be the judge of whether or not you need it after I explain it first".

With that, Mickey beckoned for Oz to follow him, taking the rabbit to the Hall of the Cornerstone where in the center laid the Cornerstone of Light. There was something a bit different about this place though. Various wires ran through the room, connecting to the pedestal the Cornerstone rested upon. Of course, upon both wall, floor, and even ceiling were inscribed various magical glyphs and circles that all hummed and glowed with both mysterious lights and sounds. Various hues shone throughout the room as if a song were being played. It was all quite a beautiful spectacle.

"Things have changed since you were asleep Oz. Fifty years ago, we built this. The new Hall of the Cornerstone. The center that powers the World Defense System. The World Defense System channels the power of the Cornerstone of Light to many different worlds so that, just as how this castle is protected from the Heartless, so to are many other worlds out there". Mickey walked over to one of the walls now, where a large computer rested.

"Of course, at first its reach was small and it only protected a handful of worlds", those worlds having been mainly the ones Sora touched on his journey, "but over the past fifty years, its reach has been expanding". Now the King hopped into the empty chair in front of it, the monitor turning on as the King began to type something in. "This system..." he began to explain as he typed, "was designed to weaken and defeat Heartless and Nobody threats that would appear in the worlds before they can show up. It is also designed to monitor the worlds for stronger or new threats so that we may dispatch someone to deal with them".

Now he finished typing and pressed the ENTER key, the screen now displaying a world and various other bits and pieces of data that Oz probably wouldn't understand if he didn't know anything about computers. "Upon this world, we detected a very strange signature, something which we have never seen before. Now while the signal was fairly weak, we are bit concerned as to whether or not this anomaly is either a threat or some type of glitch. So my wish is for you to investigate this matter..." The chair did indeed spin, so he spun it to look at Oz now.

"Of course, I won't be sending you in alone. A few other Keybladers will be going with you, so it is my wish that you help them through this mission". While Mickey did not doubt the abilities of the other Keybladers, he believed that Oz's past adventuring experience would be a boon that this team could depend upon, even if the rabbit may or may not have been a bit rusty from his two-hundred year coma. "Are you up for this task, old friend?" He did not want Oz to push himself, but at the same time really knew that he could use the rabbit's help.

---

"Those soldiers are as mean as ever" stated the duck in a voice that always easily stood out. Donald now walked over to the Prince of Hearts, handing a letter to him. "Your highness" began the Duck who knew how to indeed properly address royalty, "I bring you a message from King Mickey".

Once Ace was done, Donald right away was going to question his acceptance of the request. "So, do you accept the King's mission or not your highness?" Unlike Sorami, Donald was a bit more impatient. So while he knew how to address royalty, his more pressing concerns with the King's mission sort of outweighed his normal tendencies to show proper speech etiquette around them.

Oswald quietly followed the King, listening to his explanation. He did indeed miss a lot, evidenced by the fact that he'd never heard of a Sora before... nor these Nobody creatures the King mentioned. Thankfully, he had a basic understanding of everything else. From what he understood, their own Cornerstone of Light became the basis for a system of protecting worlds from being attacked by Heartless. Even some of the things that came up on the computer screen looked vaguely familiar to the rabbit. He hadn't told the King yet, but one of the world's Oswald had "touched" during his mission was one inside of a computer, but that was another story.

"So it's a simple investigation, then?" asked Oswald when the King finished, "Of course I'm up for it." though he couldn't shake a feeling he had in the back of his head that this wasn't nearly as simple as it seemed. Or, perhaps, his time on the side of Darkness had made him a bit paranoid? Maybe it was even a bit of both?

"There is something I need to ask though..." his voice trailed off briefly since he was about to ask two questions that would likely make him sound a complete rookie, "What's a "Sora"? And what's a Nobody?"

Mickey figured Oz would have questions, since things were much different now than they were back then. "Nobodies are the shells left behind when a person with a strong will becomes a Heartless. It is believed that they are not supposed to exist and have no real emotions, since they don't have hearts". The first question was hard for anyone to answer. As for the second, it was alot easier to answer.

"As for Sora... he was a Keyblader from about two hundred years ago. A boy who saved the worlds from the Heartless and Nobodies before, having foiled the plans of Maleficent in his first journey and Organization XIII, a group of powerful nobodies, in his second journey. He made many friends on his journey..." The King paused for a moment, a slightly somber expression upon his face. "He is gone now, and has been for a long time. Regardless, he was a very dear friend of mine, Donald's, and Goofy's".

To change the mood from its current somber shift, Mickey returned the topic to the matter at hand. "Anyway, do you have anymore questions? If not, you should probably get some rest before the others get here. While I hope the investigation turns up nothing serious... we should probably be as prepared as we can".

-KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK- "Spades? Spaaades? Are you awake yet?" came a familiar voice, but still in the debts of a deep, not quite slumber, The young card Kingdome warrior could not quite place the voice. Odd that someone in this dream was knocking on something? She was in a magical forest of marshmallow trees and chocolate rivers having a tea party with talking unicorns. What was there to possible knock on?

-KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK- PIC ANNIE CARD, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LATE YOU ARE!?!

The use of her full proper name, and the familiar phrase paired with the familiar voice woke her up with a jolt. She leaped up from laying position to stand on her bead in a battle ready position, pillow brandished as the deadliest weapon her fingers could find. She still didn't fully comprehend what was going on, but she knew that voice for sure.

With a click and clack, the door of her room swung open and the white rabbit stood in it.

"I swear girl! I and the others raised you better than this. You are late again, and me stopping to make sure your lazy bones actually got out of bed this morning has made ME late. Now get dressed and find the prince before the queen notices you aren't by his side and has you beheaded."

The girl blinked at the rabbit who, now certain that she was at least awake scurried off in a white streak of meaningful haste. It took her a couple more seconds to kick her still awakening brain into gear and but all the information into a picture she could understand. She....her eyes drifted over the room, finally landing on her half smashed alarm clock...was REALLY LATE!

"Oh fold me!" she swore, a favorite of hers she learned from a particularly foal mouthed card-guard. She began zipping about the room quickly dressing for the day and doing her morning routine as if in fast forward. Soon the blue-black haired girl was running through the halls of the castle, dressed in her black and red dress decorated with all manner of card suits, one hand clutching desperately at the top hat upon her head.

"PRINCE!!!" she yelled out, desperate to find her charge before she got her self beheaded...or worst demoted! As much as she didn't mind cleaning and stuff, she did prefer to only have to worry about keeping the princes things in order, not the entire chaotic castle. She caught the sound of the prince giving orders and quickly made her way in that direction, thanking the stars above for the royals big mouth. She skid to breathless stop next to the prince, panting and wheezing but holding a crocked smile on her face.

"Thank goodness I found you My Lord, I ran half the castle attempting to locate . You should really try and remember to tell me what you plan to do in the morning. How can I gaurd ya if don't know where you are?" she said attempting to play it off as if she hadn't slept in, and probable slept through HIM trying to get her up as well. She then took notice of the strange duck "You're to short to be Howard.. My lord who is..." she mumbled before her eyes noted the paper in the princes hands "OH! Mail Sir? How interesting, we don't often get missives at the castle. What news?"

"I'm not being mean, I'm being sensible. If this was a trap and we weren't prepared, we could be ambushed, taken out, and then lord knows what could happen. Slavery most likely." Joshua said. He listened to Rose's input, shrugging at what she said before turning his attention back to Sorami, thinking."The Sechs are also really good with technology. They might be able to make something like what you describe with the right backing and support. No the best way for you to prove your story would be to say... take Amaya and me to one of these worlds you mentioned, to one that looks like no place that I know of. And I've studied a lot, so I'll know if you've taken us to someplace on this planet. But after you're done showing us, you have to bring us right back, so we can say our good-byes. That is, assuming you're telling the truth.

Sound fair?

Sorami just nodded. Again, she understood Joshua's skepticism, so she figured she would show them proof. "Alright, that's fair enough. I have no intentions of forcing you to do anything you wouldn't want to do, so even if you do come to believe me, I will understand if you don't want to go on this mission". With that, Sorami stepped forward into the house, since she didn't want anyone seeing what had to be done. She had no ill intentions, her voice and eyes displaying her absolute sincerity.

"Alright, shall we go then?" She raised her hand upward, pointing her fingers towards the sky. In one moment herself, Joshua, and Amaya were all encompassed in beams of white light and in the next the three of them were no longer in the house. Instead they were inside of a new structure, the glass dome around them giving them a view of the empty void of space around them, the ship they were in facing their world, so Amaya and Joshua were able to see their world from space.

The three of them were indeed in what could appear to be the helm of a ship (assuming they don't know what a cockpit is if they don't have any ships that have them), a highly technological one. There were three seats, Sorami in the front one that gave her access to the controls, the captain's chair, while Amaya and Joshua were in the back two seats.

"Welcome to my ship, the Highwind. It belonged to my ancestor Sora, who was a Keyblader like yourselves". She typed a few things on a keyboard, the image of a large, white castle appearing on one section of the glass, as if it was also a monitor when it wasn't giving them a view of the path ahead. "I shall take you to this world, or more accurately the castle where the ruler of said world resides known as Disney Castle, its ruler being his majesty King Mickey, who is the one who wrote that letter".

Of course, before she left, she decided to ask one more question, giving a grin back towards Joshua. "So, do you believe me yet, or do I need to actually take you there as proof?" She figured it would save time if he just believed her already so that they could go say their appropriate goodbyes or refuse the mission, but otherwise she wasn't against taking them there and then taking them back. After all, she was pretty confident that any technology that was present in their world couldn't do this.

Oswald shook his head, "That'll about do it, I think." he figured he could find any other information he needed in the library archives if he really needed it. In fact, he decided to go ahead and head there when his conversation with the King was over. He crossed one arm over his heart and bowed before taking his leave. The maze-like area around the Cornerstone was new to him, but Oswald was no stranger to navigating mazes, and so making his way out of the Hall was a simple enough task.

Once he was back in the Throne Room, he could easily remember where everything was. Only the Hall of the Cornerstone had been changed since he last saw it, everything else looked exactly the same as when he first left. He didn't take two steps into the next hallway before he heard a familiar bark and was greeted by a dog bounding up to him happily. The rabbit gave a smile as he knelt to pat Pluto's head, "Pluto! How are you, boy?" he asked, getting a happy bark from Pluto, who then ran off again to find someone else to greet.

When Pluto was gone, Oswald turned to his right and walked toward the door at the end of the hallway. Beyond that would be the Library, and he figured he could use some of this downtime to do a little reading and get more caught up on what's been happening. True, the King had recommended he get some rest, but to be honest Oswald didn't really want to. After two hundred years of sleep, he felt like he had enough of it to last a lifetime. So he opened the door to the library and entered. Inside he would try learn whatever else he could about the present timeline and things that have happened since he went into the pod.

Ace was almost immediately annoyed by Donald's voice. It definitely wasn't something he'd like, but he guessed he couldn't complain. The guy was a duck after all. He was bound to have some form of speech impediment or something. When he got handed the letter he noticed the mouse shaped seal. Interesting. A mouse as a King. That was something crazy enough to happen in this world. He started to open it before Spades appeared and started talking. He didn't stop and started reading it.

When she asked him what the news was he turned to her and said, "Shh. I'm trying to read." He scanned over the letter and realized that this must have been the promising destiny he had. This was it. He closed the letter and placed it in his pocket before looking to Spades and then the duck. "Well, duck. Tell your King that I shall accept this job or whatever of his. Though he probably only needs me to help figure this all out. But then again Spades would probably get a heart attack if she didn't follow me along. We'll both be coming." He said before turning to Spades. "They need us and our keyblades."

He was really interested in what this anomaly was and why it had concerned this King Mickey and the WDS so much. This was an adventure that he would be ready to conquer. His training would definitely improve out in other worlds as he got actual experience instead of just normal training. He was sure that his parents wouldn't even notice that he was gone. He wasn't worried about them anyway. They couldn't behead him without him in their sight.

Without saying anything else he started walking forward ready to take on his destiny.

"Gwarsh, it sure has been a while since I've been here a-hyuk". Appearing in the same back alley that Sora first appeared in, Goofy began to walk the streets of Traverse Town now, the letter in his pocket. He had been told to find a Keyblader that just recently appeared here. He wondered if this meant this Keyblader's world was consumed by the Heartless, the though of this making the King's Captain a bit sad. Still, reminiscing a bit on his journey with the belated Sora made him cheer up a bit, remembering all of the fun times they had in this world and others.

Eventually Goofy saw the person he had been told to find, ironically in the spot where he and Sora first met, when he and Donald literally fell on top of the Key they were told to find. Now here he was, in that same spot, finding a Key for the king. The tall, dog looking man rushed up to Black Mage, giving a friendly smile and a wave. "Hello there, you must be the new Keyblader his majesty asked me to find" stated Goofy in his usual drawl like voice. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the letter, handing it to Gabe. "The name's Goofy, and I got a letter from The King for you a-hyuk".

If Gabe were to open the letter and read it, these were its contents.

Goofy would wait for Gabe to read the letter so that he could answer any questions the Black Mage might have had, and perhaps either give his response to the King's Request.

«Gabe»

The soft wings fluttered mere inches from the black mage’s head. Gabe stood, watching the butterfly hovering as it searched for the nearest flower. It’d be disappointed, Gabe feared. He hadn’t seen a single flower since ending up in Traverse Town. Then again, he hadn’t seen a butterfly either, so what did he know, really?

Rustling clothes and clumsy footsteps scared off the gentle bug. Gabe even jumped slightly himself. He turned to the approaching creatures and slunk back slightly, but something about that goofy grin and awkward wave was rather disarming. Gabe straightened back up, submitting to a nervous habit his kind was sadly chained to: straightening that hat despite it being perfectly fine.

“Hello there, you must be the new Keyblader his majesty asked me to find.”

Gabe looked at the lanky lad. What was a Keyblader? And what was a majesty? Who wanted their majesty to find Gabe? Before he could ask though, the newcomer shoved a small, thin white box into his hands.

“The name’s Goofy, and I got a letter from The King for you a-hyuk.”

If he would have just had the parts to do so, Gabe would most likely have stared slack-jawed at this Goofy guy while he tried to find the appropriate words. Few people had spoken to him since he showed up in town. Fewer still just waltzed up to him. None seemed so...downright happy.

Gabe liked him instantly.

Still, there were a few more words Gabe hadn’t heard before. The King? A-hyuk?

He nodded, shifting the letter, as Goofy called it, to one hand, then to the other.

“Goofy, huh? I’m Fou-” Gabe started to refer to himself as his identification number, but stopped, shaking his widely. He then readjusted his hat, and looked at the paper in his hands. “I’m Gabe. Your welcome.” Alright, so, pleasantries were a little much for Gabe at the moment. He was actually rather elated about the letter. He hadn’t ever received a gift from a stranger before. It was exciting.

So, uh...what does a letter do?

Gabe stood just looking at Goofy then the letter for a few moments. It was a bit of an uncomfortable pause. Well, to your average, well-adjusted individuals it would have been. Luckily, none of THOSE were present.

Gabe ran his finger over the letter unconsciously. Then it caught the edge of the envelope. He flipped the letter over and looked at the seal he hadn’t noticed before. It was like a mini-door. Anything could be on the other side. Even…

Gabe opened the seal. There was more paper. That made no sense. Why put paper in paper? Isn’t that just a waste of good paper? He mentally shrugged. Bruce had said that the many worlds were all vastly different. They had their own ‘unique customs’ as he put it. So Goofy’s people put paper in paper. There was probably a reason for it.

He pulled out the inner paper and it unfolded before his eyes. It was covered in…

In…

WORDS! These were words! So a letter was a short book! That made sense. Gabe looked at the neat handwriting and…

...wished he could read. Bruce and Othello had plenty of books on the island. Othello would read some of his favorite ones to Gabe when the weather was too bad to go outside. They had tossed around the idea of teaching Gabe but they never got around to it. Gabe shifted his weight to one foot. This wouldn’t do. Goofy went to all this trouble to get the letter to Gabe. The King or the majesty or whoever sent the letter would be offended if Gabe didn’t appreciate it. He knew that much. Manners were important. So Gabe curled one hand back to his face and held the letter outstretched with the other. He nodded his head slowly and made the appropriate hmms and huhs every so often. Then after a few moments, he folded the letter back up and put it back in the envelope.

“That’s a nice letter, Goofy. I really like it. I’ll treasure it.”

He gave Goofy a thumbs up and adjusted his hat once more. He had no idea what a thumbs up meant, but Othello did it often when trying to convince him everything was OK. And everything was OK right now. Probably.
