@CAS1006 Yeah, but I learnt my lesson from Aliens: Colonial Marines. These days anyone can make a high-quality, non-interactive video, especially when they have the kind of budget BioWare must be sinking into the project, but to actually deliver that same level of quality to actual gameplay..?

Having said that, Battlefront's use if the actual game engine to produce videos does have me excited for the level of content we're likely to see from them.

The same thing was done with Colonial Marines, but when it can time for the actual release of the game the quality had been cut back considerably so they could simplify the game engine to deal with the hoards of aliens required for the game.

They then cut back on the 'swarm logic' coding that they'd tried developing to make the aliens coordinate their attacks and act as a single enemy, since they couldn't manage to have the logic work flexibly enough to react to player actions, making the swarm end up losing control and just wandering around aimlessly as people shot them apart. For the released version of the game they stripped the logic out and just went for basic scripted sequences instead, losing the main selling point of the game.

Luckily the work on the adaptive logic design was folded into Isolation instead, giving the Alien in that game a far better, and more menacing feel than a simple scripted nemesis could.

Anyone, anyone at all excited about Gears of War 4 and Fallout 4? I got the chills from that also... Hololens, Too good to be true?? Also slightly disappointed that there is no say on a possible wishful remake of Timesplitters or new remake or IP of Alien vs Predator.

On with the adventure. I'm time and space-skipped us to the Deep Roads entrance, which is located in a forest two days inland from the southern Nevarran coast (see the map for details.) Feel free to have your characters comment on anything which may have happened in the last two days, but try to keep it brief if possible, we're looking to get on with the story at this point rather than reminiscing too much.

Martin needs three volunteers to head down the stone steps and into the tunnels first (see the illustration for an idea what the place looks like.) Whoever heads down, feel free to encounter some low-tier creatures in the darkness, but no Darkspawn. If there were any Darkspawn around then either Martin and Karras would know about it.

On the other hand, if Karras is one of the volunteers then it's possible he may sense something, but any Darkspawn lingering in the tunnels will be keeping their distance for now, either respecting the Architect's peace accord or simply biding their time for an ambush later.

Darkspawn tainted Mabari found wandering in the Deep Roads perhaps? Might be useful to have a Grey Warden hound who can sense Darkspawn coming by your side. It'd be a little mean towards Martin and Karras though, so best keep it on a short leash.

If he's not one of the four heading down into the Deep Roads then Martin has ordered the rest to scout the woods around them looking for any trouble. He has a bad feeling about the woods so there may be bandits, demons, Venatori or deadly killer bunnies on the loose.

Feel free to start any trouble you like on the surface, it'll just give us all the more reason to get into the tunnels quickly.
