Even if she can only remember part of her first name...

Arghast, Herald of the Abyss

Name
Arghast
Age
39
Gender
Male
Sexuality
Heterosexual
Land of Origin
Carim
Covenant
Darkwraiths
Personality
Arghast carries himself with a subtle confidence, seemingly unperturbed by the horrors of Lordran. He takes advantage of his sinister appearance, often unnerving those mild-hearted undead. His dealings with others are often shrewd, with Arghast making clear his absolute hatred of weakness, hollows and the gods. He may, at times, impart his knowledge from time spent in Lordran's depths and lend his blade to an undead in need. Something of a zealot, he speaks ill of the old gods, blaming the pantheon for the Darksign and the undead curse.
Despite what should be a transparent persona, the most oblivious conversationalist may still feel Arghast does reveal all. Among these concealed truths, his status as a Darkwraith is one.

While suspicious of the undead prophecy, he nonetheless seeks to unravel its meaning. All the while, engorging himself on the humanity of his fellow undead.
Arsenal
Fitting of his wicked nature, Arghast wields a serrated machete and a hatchet. When necessary, he will augment the edge of these weapons by slathering them in rotten pine resin, a foul substance that serves to poison the blades. An estus flask, in the shape of a goat's horn, dangles from his waist-side. As a Darkwraith, he can harness the sinister Dark Hand; dark energy envelopes either hand and allows him a degree of defense, while providing the means to enact the cruel act of Lifedrain.

"The Darkwraiths, incited by Kaathe, use the power of the dark soul to absorb humanity, an art shared by this weapon, which also acts as a special shield. The ancients, particularly, could sap the humanity of even a replete saint in the blink of an eye.

Magical Traits
Arghast buds with stolen humanity. This saturation of soul energy allows him to cast rudimentary dark magics without the use of a catalyst, all at the expense of humanity.
The art of Lifedrain allows the Darkwraiths a means to thieve humanity for themselves. By seizing an undead with in their grasp, the servants of dark leech humanity from their victims, bringing them closer to hollowing and empowering their own life force.
Biography
Those stricken by the dark sign are irrevocably cursed; pasts wilt away, leaving naught but a shadow upon a bleak mind. Of those few things which may slow this process, none can restore what has been lost. A purpose, something to strive towards, and humanity, fragments of the fateful dark soul, both may sooth the flesh and mind of the accursed undead. Arghast, once a nameless bloodletter in service to Carim’s court intrigues, found hollowing a more detestable demise than death itself. The Dark Sign made the great weak, the wise vapid and Arghast eternally spiteful of the gods for bringing it upon man.
Even while spilling over with humanity, he sees only fragments. Legions lead in chains to the Undead Asylum, escape to the land of silent gods and a prophecy he could not achieve. In time, his ventures through the netherworld of Lordran, guideless and hollowing, brought him to the feet of the Darkwraith, Caitlyn. From her, he learned to crave humanity, for it remedied his curse and weakened the gods of fire. When bestowed with the knowledge of Lifedrain, Arghast had found a purpose in Lordran.
Hunger soon gives way to gluttony, and Arghast found that seizing it from the inept undead around him all too tempting. And though his hollowing was deadened and his life force invigorated, there were virulent effects to harboring an abundance of humanity. Like the firekeepers that fed the bonfires, Arghast’s flesh grew malformed and ridden with sores, disfiguring his face. As his abhorrence for hollows and the flame grows, he may yet peer into the Abyss.
Miscellaneous
Arghast’s skin is riddled with horrid scars, sores and tears. Those who contain too much humanity within them, like the Firekeepers, are disfigured by it.
The Darkwraith loathes the use of his estus flask, and refuses to donate his humanity to kindle bonfires.

Name
Saira of the East

Age
24

Gender
Female

Sexuality
Straight

Land of Origin
The Eastern Lands

Covenant
Warriors of Sunlight

Personality
Saira is a calm and aloof lost soul, seemingly disconnected from the events that unfold around herself. None of few individuals that have encountered Saira during her continuing journey can claim that they can understand her thoughts or motivations. She appears to only desire to aimlessly wander forward, guided by the brilliance of the Sun's light, to whatever fate she is destined for. Having no memories of her past before being afflicted with the curse of the undead, Saira does not fear the eventual loss of what remains of her humanity. Instead, she accepts this an ultimately inevitable fate that she must someday encounter. However, rather than lose her humanity to despair and accept fate as a Hollow like many other Undead, Saira chooses to follow the only thing left in the world that continues to live forever, with eternal incandescence: the Sun, hoping to find some residual purpose in her life before her eventual end.

Arsenal
Saira owns no items of worth, power, or value, other than than her Katana. She does not remember why she carries the Katana, only that it was her only companion during her journey. Her only other possessions include her tattered clothes and pieces of leather armor pillaged from various Hollows.

Magical Traits
Saira has no innate magical potential or ability, and owns no items with any magical properties. However, with her strong faith and reverence for the Sun, she is able to cast the Great Lightning Spear miracle during times of need.

Biography
Little is known about Saira's past, even to herself. Her earliest remaining memory is endlessly following the guiding light of the sun, wandering towards the light that could never be caught, for a reason unknown to herself. It was during this seemingly unending journey that she eventually forgot the reason for her travelling, aimlessly wandering the lands. Without sense of purpose and reason to persevere, Saira's spirit began to weaken and despair as her soul rapidly declined towards a hollowing state.

Before the last echoes of hope and humanity left her weakened soul, Saira found herself standing within the ruins of a broken-down temple, with the Altar of Sunlight standing tall before her. However, Saira was not alone within the temple. There, at the base of the Altar, lay a dying and broken soul, mere steps from fully Hollowing from despair. Upon realizing it was the final remaining scraps of Humanity left within this nameless traveler's soul that drew her towards the temple, it was then Saira realized that she had become much more Hollow than Human.

To her surprise, Saira was met with unexpected joy and gratitude from the dying traveler, who confessed his realization that in his blind reverence for the Sun, he had mindlessly followed the Sun with every step of his travels. Each day, he would follow the Sun from east to west as it rose into the sky, only to travel back towards the east, as it rose again the very next day. All this in the hopes of eventually hold the radiance of the Sun in his own hands. In his last moments as a human, the traveler spoke these words to Saira:

"The Sun, as beautiful and radiant as it is, is something that can never be caught, never held, never cherished. Therefore, it is complete foolishness to even try. To do so is futile, and will only lead to anguish and despair. Perhaps... the Sun is something that is not to be caught, but something that guides. But.. to where? However, such words are meaningless, for I have already reached the end of my journey. But you... you have the strength to continue onwards. I recognize that gleam in your eyes, the same look that I once had. While I am still human, I beg you to use that sword in your grasp to end my life as a human, for I do not wish to see myself turn hollow. In return, I offer you the remains of my humanity. Take it, and follow the guiding light of the shining Sun. Praise... the Sun."

Honoring the traveler's last words and wishes, Saira took what remained of the traveler's humanity for herself, and set her sights towards the west, were the Sun journeyed to with each passing day.

Delwyn Seren
The Chronicler of Vinheim

Family Name - Seren
Given Name(s) - Delwyn
Age - 28
Gender - Male
Sexuality - Demisexual

Land of Origin - Vinheim
Former Occupation - Chronicler
Former Status - Upper Class

Marital Status - Married, 3 years
Name of Spouse - Margaret Seren, age 21
Family Members - Isabella Seren, age 2

Alignment - Neutral Good
Positive traits - Compassionate, abstract thinker, dependable
Negative traits - Naive, frail, lacks self confidence
Personality - A hard working, intelligent man with a deep love for his family that is proven time and time again to be the source of his ambition. Delwyn is a caring family man who prides himself on being able to provide for his family. His natural kindness mixed with his naivety often leads him to trust others easily and in turn be manipulated. In Vinheim his wife Margaret was his voice of confidence who protected him from such people, but in Lordran he finds himself often encountering awkward situations due to his willingness to go along with others without question. Don't let his simple nature fool you. Delwyn has a wonderful mind capable of approaching situations from many different angles. Trained by the powerful sorcerers of the Vinheim Dragon School for Magic, he is a very well read fellow with many magical talents.

Delwyn has a bad habit of over thinking and contradicting his own decisions. He is very indecisive and never has confidence in his own ideas. This attitude has been growing worse with the more time he spends in Lordran as the curse begins to eat away at his humanity. He becomes more and more scared each day, but he refuses to let the faces of his loved ones slip away. In his Chronicler's Catalyst, he records every thought or detail of each day so that if he ever forgets he will be able to read through his record of events since he left Vinheim. In this same tome, he writes letters home despite not having any way of sending them to his family; to him it is simply a coping method to try and stop the curse from taking the most precious people in his life away from him.

Covenant - The Way of White
Skills and Talents - Skilled Chronicler, able to write detailed recollections of events in chronological order for future reference.
Understands many different languages, even ancient languages and hieroglyphics.
Tactical mind.
Talented artist.

Physical Abilities - Physically frail with little stamina or strength.
Surprisingly Agile, but nowhere near the capabilities of a fully trained warrior.
Keen senses, a trait he picked up in his time in Lordran. Augmented by his magic.

Mental and Magical Abilities - Strong willpower when pushed.
Capable of sustaining Soul Sorceries for extended period of times.

Unique Sorcery - Delwyn utilises a form of Soul Sorceries only taught to the Chroniclers of Vinheim's School for Magic. Tasked with keeping detailed archives of the history of Vinheim as well as many other lands, Lordran included, Chronicler Sorceries involve the manipulation of the casters senses to achieve such feats as reading multiple texts at inhuman speeds or understanding complex codes and languages.

"The Chroniclers of Vinheim's Dragon School for Magic manage and organise the Grand Emporium of the Ages; the world's largest collection of archives describing important events in history as far back as the formation of Anor Londo. Using Soul Sorceries born from the Channelers of Seath the Scaleless; these Chroniclers read through and sort the entirety of the archives and use the information they find to assist in the advancement of Vinheim. A tiresome task, but one held in high regard by the scholars of Vinheim."

Chronicler Soul Sorceries

Biography - Delwyn was born to a prestigious upper class family of sorcerers belonging to Vinheim's Dragon School. Being revered as powerful sorcerers was enough to make any person influential enough in Vinheim. Delwyn lived a life of blissful ignorance to the suffering of those not as fortunate as he was. Although it was uncommon, due to his mother often keeping him huddled up inside their manor, Delwyn would see children his age playing games in the street. He was forbidden from associating with them, taught that he was better than they were. One day when walking to the markets, Delwyn's mother asked him to wait outside while she gossiped with her friends. A stray, dirty ball came rolling towards the young child. Being as spoilt as he was, Delwyn took the ball and refused to give it back once the children came and asked for it. Mad that Delwyn had stolen their toy, the group of boys advanced onto him. Before they could attack, an older boy: about two years older than Delwyn, told them to settle down before politely asking Delwyn to give them back their ball. The older boy's name was Charlie. While he and Delwyn grew to be the closest of friends, the most interesting encounter Delwyn would have in his life was years later with Charlie's younger sister: Margaret.

Charlie never grew to study at the Vinheim Dragon School, but Margaret did. By this time Delwyn was nearing graduation and well in the running for becoming a new Chronicler for the archives. He and Margaret saw a lot of each other as Delwyn aimed to help her with her studies. Spending time with Margaret really opened up his eyes and Delwyn began to understand those with less privilege than he had. Margaret helped Delwyn grow into a compassionate person. Eventually, feelings blossomed between the two and they wedded. Whilst his family disapproved, Delwyn cared not for their opinion as he was already capable of supporting both his new wife and their upcoming baby. When Isabella was born Delwyn was overjoyed. He thought that he would have a relaxing, happy life with the woman he loved. That is until the Undead Curse began to afflict him. Not wanting to risk spreading the curse to his family, Delwyn left in the middle of the night to pursue the ancient prophecy that he had once come across whilst skimming the vast source of knowledge in Vinheim's Emporium of the Ages. All he wants is for the curse to be lifted from him so he can return back to his family and live out the rest of his days peacefully.

Name – Astavyastamaina marpunu [He just goes by Asta]
Age – Unknown
Gender – Male
Sexuality – Undefined
Appearance – He's a rather odd looking person, seemingly not an inch of his body is actually visible, fairly tall and covered from head to knee's in a strangely fibrous looking white material that appears to be done up in a cloak of sorts. There is clearly something worn under it, as there are thick leather sleeves protruding from it, though they look needlessly wide and they terminate in a pair of gauntlets that are attached to the sleeve's outer edges and almost seem as if they are sealing them. These gauntlets appear to be made of some form of chitinous material, as if they were made from the pieces of some over-sized bug monster, the boots might be similar, though there is some slightly obscuring mist lingering at the base of his cloak that blurs the view beneath it.

More note-worthy still is the helmet, also wrapped in the strange white stuff and comprised of a large green orb whose surface creates the illusion of a giant eye that turns in whichever direction it is viewed from.

Land of Origin – He doesn't remember where he came from before.
Covenant – Marpu yokka margam [The path of Change]
Personality – Asta comes across as a bit of a loon, not a violent one, just a real odd-ball, with strange mannerisms and an equally strange language that joins his speech from time to time. He often seems to take nothing as seriously as anyone he meets, but the smart traveler of Lordran would easily consider that, like countless other things in this land, there is more to him than meets the eye.

He bears strong beliefs about the undeadening, some which differ intensely from most groups and, while he may not have personal problems against certain groups, some of them may have issues with 'him', particularly since he is not shy about sharing his strange philosophy with whoever will listen, though he still refrains from wanton preaching.

Arsenal –

Magical Traits –

Biography – He doesn't remember where he came from, and only a few tidbits of who he used to be that he decided were worth recreating, mainly some personality traits, especially those that set the foundation for his philosophy, skills, and useful knowledge. Otherwise, he considers his 'old self' to be dead and gone in favor of the new self, in standing with his philosophy, the process of becoming undead was simply the death of his old life, which he released to oblivious in favor of going head-long into forging a new life, one full of change rediscovery.

He does not view the undeadening as a curse, but simply another stage in life that gives him the chance to become a whole new person! In fact, he came to Lordran seeking adventure, and prophecies tended to be great guides to finding exactly that! The interesting people sure don't hurt the experience either.

What he 'does' remember is that since becoming undead, he has never felt freer, letting the old slip away in order to discover the new, ever changing as he forges new memories, finds new knowledge, and learns new skills to play with... He can't imagine why anyone would be afraid of new things!

Miscellaneous – Other information you want to include.

Name – Lucas

Age – 19

Gender – Male

Sexuality – Straight

Appearance – Lucas is skeletal, his eyes large, sunken, and forest green. His clothes are ragged, his hair platinum blonde, dirty, medium length, and unkempt. His body is riddled with scars, burns, and several poorly stitched wounds, most notably one on his chest where he keeps his Pyromancy Flame. His fingernails are cracked and bloody from constant fidgeting. His left index finger has been replaced by a metal talon-like appendage that is usable as a catalyst for sorceries. He carries a white mask with a laughing face, and a dirty doll that has been mended repeatedly.

Land of Origin – Catarina

Covenant – None

Personality – Lucas is often described as being a simpleton, one possessed of fatally cunning instincts. Dominated by a child-like curiosity and wanderlust, he flits about from one place to the next. He often mutters to himself or inanimate objects, and at times acts like a beast running on all four while growling and snarling threateningly. While definitely quirky and not right in the head, Lucas is a gentle soul, most of the time. Incited into a frenzy he becomes savage, malicious, completely out of control.

Arsenal – Hollowed Thief Set, Ring of Fog, a bone dagger with a potent toxin, a dagger, an estus flask, a few firebombs, some pebbles and prism stones

Magical Traits – Hush, Hidden Weapon, Aural Decoy, Fall Control

He shows an aptitude for sorceries, but lacks potency. He also has a Pyromancy Flame though he doesn't understand what it is and keeps it in a vial under a stitched wound on his chest.

Biography – Lucas' mother died when he was young, his father he has no memory of. When he was 3 part of his head was bashed in by a wooden plank and it's malevolent wielder. The blow fractured his skull, little bits of which stabbed into his brain. He screamed and hollered for days alternating between simply wailing, and flailing violently as if possessed by a demon. When he finally fell silent one night they presumed him dead, and planned to dispose of the body in the morning. But miraculously, the next morning Lucas was fine, he seemed his old self.

Another 3 years passed, with the ever vigilant caretakers growing ever more concerned at Lucas' increasingly erratic behavior that were likely a result of swelling in the brain during times of stress coupled with the shards jutting from his brain. One fall afternoon Lucas and another boy got into one of the silly arguments that 6 year old's get into. Lucas became violent, however, and the boy was savagely brutalized. The caretakers were horrified, and Lucas, realizing that he had worn out his welcome, and in all truthfulness losing interest in the orphanage, left.

He lived on the streets till he was 11, surviving on pity, quick hands, and quicker feet. It was a formative time for young Lucas, but not a very eventful one. He learned to move with haste both vertically and horizontally, and work all sorts of mischief. Most importantly though he learned how to survive with next to nothing.

When he was 11 slavers found him sleeping in his little hiding hole, abducting and shackling him. No one noticed, he was after all, just another street urchin. He was forced to work long hard hours in the mines, except on a good day he might get to run a message or two and be received with a boot. Days seemed to blend with each other, and Lucas has no real knowledge of how long this went on. He retreated somewhere into his broken mind most of the time going about his day in a daze.

Somewhere along the way a sorcerer of some skill took an interest in him. What he saw in Lucas was a mystery perhaps known only to those with an aptitude for the soul arts. Whatever his reasons he bought Lucas and poured a great deal of time into training his new apprentice. And while Lucas showed great talent at learning the arts, his spells lacked power. The sorcerer tried many things hoping to finally find that break through to allow his young apprentice to reach his full potential. One such endeavor involved cutting off Lucas' index finger and replacing it with a catalyst for casting. His hope was that a more personal connection to a catalyst would be just what the boy needed.

When that too failed, the sorcerer began to lose hope and abandoned trying to teach his apprentice. In his warped mind, for his mind was very warped, he decided that by poking and prodding he could extract some insight into what gave the boy such aptitude yet lacking in practical ability with his castings. It was sometime during this torture that Lucas' darksign manifested. He remembers little of the time, most thoughts are blocked out by agonizing pain, but he remembers moments of darkness, silence, and respite from the pain. And then he would return again, and so would the pain. The sorcerer seemed amazed at his resilience never noticing the sign.

It was after one particular session when the boy went limp and quiet for an excessively long amount of time, and lacking a pulse, the sorcerer assumed him dead at last. A pity, he had learned nothing. He summoned a servant to dispose of the corpse and retired for the evening. But when the servant loosened his restraints Lucas returned to consciousness and attacked the servant in a frenzy, killing him. Hatred pulsing through his mind he made his way to his former Master's chambers. While his offensive sorceries were weak he had always been capable with other sorceries that that didn't require sheer force to be useful. He particularly enjoyed those used in misdirection. It was these that he used to sneak towards the sorcerers bed chambers. His anger overflowing, bleeding into his mind like a poison, he slit the sorcerer's throat with a knife he had found and began to savage him as the dying man clawed at his now very exposed and very red throat. Later reports hypothesized that he had been mauled by some sort of beast as no man could, or would, maim a person so. There was little left to recognize.

Lucas wandered aimlessly with a fractured psyche for a time. Eventually he stumbled his way into Lordran. Something about the land seemed to mend his ailing mind, perhaps all he had needed was time. It's hard to say, nor does it really matter. In a new place and with a freedom he had never known, for not even death could hold him back now, an excitement bubbled inside him, something he had not experienced in a long time, perhaps never even, he couldn't remember. His wanderings have taken him to the Forest Hunter's groves, a short stint into New Londo, and some time lost in the Catacombs and the Tombs further below, among other places. He's discovered a hand full of trinkets, weapons, and other things discarded or removed from previous owners. Somewhere below he met the man he affectionately calls Uncle Patches.
