[OOC] Caverns & Critters

This role play is open to anyone that would like to join. The story begins in a fictional village with a roughly medieval feel and a cave entrance has recently been revealed when the river washed out a piece of the bank during the spring rains. Is there hidden treasure to be found? Or only danger and trouble?

The Rules

• Have fun and help the others participating in the RP have fun too!
• Create 2-3 characters that will be venturing into the cave. During play, all but 1 must die!
• Character sheets are NOT required. If you want to start playing, simply read the story thus far and describe the basics of your characters in your post. Not every detail of your PCs needs to be worked out up front.
• Feel free to contribute details to the world. If you want to, for example, add a long-forgotten, ramshackle hut in the middle of the woods, go for it!

Sounds great to me! I really like this idea, particularly the idea that these are just regular villagers doing this kinda thing. Bring out your Butchers, Bakers and Candlestick makers! Tavern Wenches and Stableboys! Who will be brave enough to dare travers this mysterious cave and see what lies below the surface!

Speaking of, I think i'll be playing a Tavern Wench- she's actually a character i've made before in DnD!
And I'll also be playing umm... a blacksmith? or a stonemason, and maybe a Farmer boy.

Which brings up the question: is there magic? Is magic the norm in this world or a figment of imagination derived from overexaggerated stories?

Personality is friendly and charasmatic while having a hotheaded temper and stubborn streak

Skilled at shirking actual farmwork, sneaking around, and stealing extra food.
Personality is sullen and bored with a penchant for mischief with a side of laziness

Pig Farmer

Doug Hogarth. Pig Farmer
Age: 32
Skilled at hauling hogs, avoiding his shrewish wife, and unbeatable stench.
Personality is amiable, not very bright but posessing a certain type of low humor and shrewed cleverness.

Well since i see people making multiple characters, i hope you dont mind if i throw another in the mix:

Occupation: Traveling bard and storyteller

Summary: The locals only really know him as "That damn bard that never shuts up." when hes not strumming his lute and watching his tavern mates grit in pain as they cover their ears, hes usually trying to woo the barmaids with stories of his adventures when he was but a young lil lass. There usually so outlandish and over exhaggerated that people take what he says with a grain of salt.

@Eklispe, looks good! An idea to run past you, but definitely feel free to say 'no' if you don't like the idea. I was trying to figure out who my second PC might be. How would you feel about the Smith brothers having a younger sister that goes along too? Maybe 17 or 18?
