Tactical Insertion: Breach & Clear

Breach & Clear is a S.W.A.T. simulation RP based in the year 1968, when S.W.A.T. teams were being established across the nation.
You are part of the Los Angeles Police Department Metropolitan Division's "D" Platoon, one of the world's most prominent S.W.A.T. teams, as well as the second one to be established in the U.S. behind Philadelphia Police Department's Tactical Response Unit.

Take the role of an individual S.W.A.T. member in one of the two squads in "D" Platoon and be inserted into tense situations meant to do the best they can to save lives and neutralize the threat.

There is a protocol, this is the police force after all, breaking it will not help your situation and can get you fired from the platoon, so don't screw around, there are lives at stake.

Remember, S.W.A.T. teams are new, and we have to show ourselves in a good manner, no dicking with civilians, no desecrating anything, no ball-dropping, got it?

NOTICE: This RP is going to be a rogue-like dungeon crawler, but with offices/warehouses/etc., and will be less focused on storylines and more on player statistics and combat. Basically, it will be something like we're the troops from XCOM, but S.W.A.T. teams.

Oh, and if you want to put in a picture, go ahead, but he/she must be in a police officer or S.W.A.T. team uniform.

The Team

What these roles mean

-Squad Leader: Leader of the squad, your weapon choices are open, though high mobility is recommended, be calm and collected, as these men follow your orders, don't put on shoes five sizes to big, this is a crucial position that requires a level head and quick thinking.
-Pointman: First man through the door, usually lightly armed and armored for the fastest possible movement. Move quickly when going in, find cover quick, and don't get pinned.
-Breacher: The man with all the special explosives and grenades. Usually carries a shotgun and breaching hammer/axe, stun enemies with flashbangs, breaching charges, or surprise them by tearing down the wall to their right. Suppress/stun enemies and open new lines of attack.
-Rifleman: Your support, carries the most powerful gun in the squad and wears the heaviest armor of all of them, be reactionary, accurate, and calm, you need to make sure no one gets around your squad, cover the flanks, and neutralize the high level threats.
-Shield: Mobile cover with minimal firepower, most always a handgun, act as an advancing brick and watch your flanks, work with other squad-mates with heavier firepower
-Sniper: You may not always be there, though when you are, you presence will be felt. Take out crucial targets in the oppositions defense and eliminate threats to your team and civilians, be wise though, nobody likes piles of dead bodies, so pick your moments, our reputation matters. For most shot you will request permission to engage from the Division Commander, unless you feel there is an immediate threat.
-Combat Medic: You're on the scene, but you aren't moving in until reports roll in of a man in need of EVAC. If that happens, you have one objective, get that man to safety, outside of the building, back to the van to treat him.
-Division Commander: Erik will tell you everything he can offer about the situation; numbers, blueprints, armaments, civilians, etc. He's also the man the sniper will consult in the case of firing a shot, unless the sniper finds it crucial to act immediately.

The Armory

The L.A.P.D. provides a specific arsenal of equipment which is chosen during the mission briefing before every deployment, here's a look:

Armor

-Standard Helmet: Every S.W.A.T. member wears this unless suited in T.I.A., has flash resistant visor and scalp coverage.

-Lightweight Ballistic Vest: Standard issue to patrol-officers. Lightweigth, like a weighted coat. Stops most small ballistics.

-Kevlar Vest: Standard issue to S.W.A.T. officers. Average weight, like a heavy backpack. Stops ALL small ballistics and some low caliber rifles.

-Assaulter's Vest: Near weightless, stops most small ballistics. No armor on sides or back of body.

-Armored Plated: Heavier armor for beefier officers to carry. Stops most rifle rounds, but nothing high caliber.

-Tactical Insertion Armor: Extremely heavy padded armor, will slow you down plenty. Reinforced Armored plate, shin guards, neck guard, full head cover helmet with bullet resistant visor, and padded ballistic impact lining, this suit will take a beating. Stops basically everything that isn't a .50 caliber weapon.

Firearms

-"Colt M1911" Handgun(7): A light gun, Good armor penetration, high damage, accurate, good for mid range engagements and firing on the move, could be used to suppress.

-"Remington Model 1100" Pump-Action Shotgun(8): A heavy gun, tight spread, powerful at close to mid range.

-"Remington Model 1148" Semi-Automatic Shotgun(5): A heavy gun, wide spread, strong at close range, good for suppression.

-"M14" Battle Rifle (14): A heavy gun, good armor penetration, accurate, powerful damage at mid to long range.

-"M16" Assault Rifle(30): A heavy gun, good armor penetration, accurate, good damage at mid to long range engagements, good for suppression.

-"S&W Model 76" Submachine Gun(24): A light gun, average armor penetration, inaccurate, good for close to mid range combat, good for suppression.

-"Remington M40" Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle(5): Sniper only, deadly, high armor penetration, accurate, good for heavy targets, will definitely scare people who hear it and see it hit.

Other Equipment

Grenades: Max 4 grenades at any time.

-Flashbangs

-Stingers (When they explode, rubber pellets fly in a radius similar to an HE Grenade.)

-Smoke Screen

-High Explosive (to be used only when the Division Commander permits it in briefing.)

-Decoy (Generate sounds similar to gunshots.)

Equipment:

-Ballistic Shield (A tower shield that can take anything that isn't a high powered rifle, has a small slit that can be seen through and fit a handgun for blind firing, Shield only)

-Riot Shield (A see-through shield about the size of a Roman Scutum shield meant for crowd control, nowhere near a solid as a Ballistic Shield, it won't stop most of any kind of bullets, but much lighter. Should be used when handling large, unarmed groups, such as rioters.)

-Zip-ties (For securing people who surrender.)

-Wedge (To be placed under a closed door to shut it from one side securely.)

-C2 (Miniature controlled explosive device for blasting open weaker doors.)

-Bomb Defusal Kit (For bomb scenarios.)

-Breaching Hammer (Sledgehammer for tearing holes in walls with a single swing or two, Breacher only.)

-Breaching Axe (Small Axe for clearing debris and breaking down wooden walls/doors/etc., Breacher only.)

-Breaching Charge (Larger explosive device used to blast open heavier metal doors and wooden walls, Breacher only.)

I do have a few things though. 1: you might want to make a place for general OOC chatter or questions; helps clear up the rules space, hmm?
2: this RP is nearing the 1970s, and I was wondering what the restrictions baced on gender are? Women only got access to serve properly in the military in World War II, and even after that it was still a great deal a man's world. Now I don't know the sexism at the time, but as someone who is currently self indulging and disiding to be, yes, that person, and considering signing up for a squad leader, I find myself wondering if a woman would even be allowed into the LAPD at that time, let alone being the head of an exparamental SWAT team.
