Although considering this is an NRP and NRPs are naturally slow, I should've had it coming.

Just curious: to what extent do nations that previously existed in the world but are not filled in by players have impact? Are they non-player nations? Do we simply pretend as though unclaimed states do not exist?

Hi there, I'm interested in joining, but I wondering whether I could control part of Mars instead of earth, running a nation which started as a colonial project by a bunch of international conglomerates and which has since gone rogue and declared independence. population would consist of welsh and scottish expats in the process of colonising and terraforming mars, whilst nervously watching the powers back on earth's growing interest in colonising and dominating other planets.

Yep, but please consider that terraforming Mars takes a long time, so don't make it hasty for the sake of making yourself a planetary superpower.

If someone wishes to, they can also be an independent Lunarian colony that is either threatening the other colonies or just doing regular nation stuff.
