Tomoyo took a bite from her half eaten apple, using her other hand to occasionally give her wheelchair a bit of momentum as it slowly rolled down the slightly slanted hallways of the main building. By now, more of Yamaku's student body had woken up, and the halls were becoming crowded with students and staff alike, most making their way to the cafeteria. She took her time maneuvering through the crowds, occasionally bumping into someone passing her by, to which she'd sheepishly smile and apologize to. From behind, a student would often make their way around her, picking up speed as they paced past through the congested hall. This continued several more times, though Tomoyo didn't seem to notice. Her thoughts were elsewhere, as per usual. Whether it be work, the collection of partially read books on her desk, her upcoming classes--

"My pencil box." she spoke, her sudden revelation making her stop in her tracks. Just as soon as she had stopped, another student collided right into one of the rear handlebars of her wheelchair, the impact causing them to stumble backwards. Tomoyo swung herself around to face them, rolling in the opposite direction as she held both of her hands out apologetically.

"Sorry, sorry!" she called out to them, awkwardly chuckling between her words. The student groaned, holding their gut in annoyance as they continued down the hallway. As they disappeared from her sight, Tomoyo turned forward with a sigh, taking one last bite from her apple before tossing it in the garbage. She pulled herself off to the side of the hallway, unclasping the latches on her bookbag and rummaging. Sure enough, there was no sign of her pencil box, which made her lips pucker in disappointment. Closing the bag back up, she pulled her scarf back over her nose and made her way back to the glass double doors of the main hall.

Once again entering the cold winter air, Tomoyo wandered throughout the tree-lined walkways of the academy, surrounded by the sounds of passing students and chirping morning birds. Although it had begun to warm up as the day continued on, she was still quietly shivering to herself beneath her coat, her hood having been pulled up onto her head. She must've looked a bit ridiculous to her peers as she passed by; she was more dressed for the arctic than a somewhat chilly February morning. Nevertheless, Tomoyo continued onward, speeding along the cement as she pushed on the rails of her wheels.

"ARE YOU ALRIGHT? YOU LOOK KIND OF LONELY! DO YOU WANT TO HANG OUT WITH US?"

The sound of someone shouting nearby suddenly caught Tomoyo's attention. She turned her head to her left, over to the group of school boys chatting together. The one in the mismatched socks seemed to be the one who'd shouted, though he'd since gone back to conversing with the pair beside him. The corners of her mouth turned up in a sort of confused grin, both puzzled and amused by the stranger. Just then, one of the three students began making his way towards... was that another student huddled beneath that tree? Her confused grin turned to blatant bewilderment as she noted the student was only wearing a hoodie over their uniform.

"Isn't she cold?" Tomoyo asked herself. A brief gust of wind rushed past her just then, sending her sinking further into her coat.

"Ughhhhh."

Shinobu was staring at the alarm clock on the table right next to her bed. The clinical, white plastic of the bottle of Rilutek was reflecting the sun's light right into her eyes as the alarm clock's radio played one classical piece or another. She'd heard the radio start playing, sure, and it had woken her up too. She just hadn't actually gotten up after about an hour of lying there. With the sun glaring in her eyes, though, there wasn't much choice. She had always been sensitive to light.

She slowly rolled herself to the side of the bed, dangling her feet off of it as she pushed herself up into a sitting position. And that was where she remained for a good ten minutes, doing nothing more than staring down at the shoes which she had put in the optimal spot for slipping her feet into with the least effort. It wasn't as if she was in deep thought or anything, she just didn't want to move. Finally, she pulled on what little willpower one has after an inadequate night's sleep and put on her socks (which she had laid atop her shoes).

Another five minutes passed in-between her putting on the socks and her putting on thee shoes.

Dammit. She thought. What's the point of going to a school if I'm going to die before I actually need to know any of the stuff I learn?

Despite that attitude, she grabbed her cane and lifted herself up on it. Standing up was always somewhat of a harrowing experience-one never really knew if they would be able to do it or not. Once again, she took a few minutes to stall herself, then took the first step of the day.

"Whoop-de-doo." She said, her voice entirely devoid of any positive emotion he phrase would normally indicate. "I can still move my feet."

Having confirmed that she didn't need to scream for help like the pathetic near-vegetable she was getting closer and closer to being, she reached over to the desk and unscrewed the bottle that held her medication. Rilutek. Taking her allotted dose every day might just give her a nine percent chance of surviving another year.

Nine.

Percent.

Maybe not even that, apparently, it "Metabolizes differently in each gender". Whatever the hell the doctor meant by that. Perhaps it would possibly let her maybe survive a bit longer, and perhaps it was as useful as a sugar pill. The latter was probably the case. After all, it isn't like good things happened to her.

Still, she had to take her daily dose or else she might hear a few stern words, so she popped one of the pills into her mouth and swallowed it in the same second. Getting water for it would have required too much movement, she could just drink some later to make sure it worked. Not like decreased effectiveness in it would actually have that much of an impact, after all, one percent of nine percent is about as insignificant as an amoeba was to her. Or as she was to the rest of the world.

After downing the pill, she walked out of the room. Well, not quite walking. More like a slow trundle, due to the necessity of her cane. It was a slow trip, to be sure. ALS doesn't make moving all that easy on you, after all. However, thanks to the alarm clock being set far earlier than she had thought (someone probably bumped the buttons or something), she managed to join up with the crowd of people walking to the opening ceremony.

Had she not been completely stuck at home for god-knows-how-long, she probably would have had a moment where she freaked out about her clothes. Not that there was anything to freak out about, of course. She'd slept in her uniform specifically because she knew she would forget in the morning, which she seemed to have done, considering the fact that she hadn't thought about it at all. It was probably a good thing she didn't, though. Even the slightest panicked expression would inevitably lead to someone asking about you.

Oh hey look, a helpless girl with a cane, how cute! She thought, mocking the thoughts of anyone who might approach her. I'll ask if she's okay, I'm sure she'll love me for that! I'm such a good person! Look at me, everyone, I'm so nice!

She sighed, being sure to keep it quieter than her steps-lest she be noticed by someone.

Ugh. These next few years are going to be terrible.

Takuma walked slightly closer. before hearing Kiyoshi speak. He paused, and turned back, instantly forgetting about the person under the tree.

"Did you just say im on the student counci...oh god. Im on the student council." His jaw virtually hit the floor, as he realised how pissed the rest of the council would be when they found out that he had done absolutely nothing. He looked around. What was the time now?

"Er...we better get to the main building! Except...er...you arent going there. Bye then!" He said, running away as fast as he could to the main building.

Katsumi Watched as the others approached her, trying to figure out what to say. She was about to address the boy coming towards her when he looked surprised and said something about a student council, running off.
Another girl was looking in her direction, and she felt herself growing bright red. Grabbing the hood of her jacket, she pulled in over her head and tried to pretend she didn't exist.
It's not that she wanted the others to think she didn't think they were worth talking to, it's only that them thinking that was preferable to worrying about what she said if she DID talk to them.
She peeked out from her hood again, wondering if her ruse had gone undetected and if they would all leave for classes soon.
Classes! When even where they? She pulled her phone out of her book bag to check the time.

The girl started to turn bright red and put her hood up to hide herself, like that was actually going to work. Figures he scared the girl, after a big menacing guy like him would shoot a bad vibe. He squatted down so that he was eye level with the girl and tilted his head trying to get a look of her eyes from under the hoodie. "Hey, no need to hide, I don't bite," Giving another big smile trying to reassure her that he's a nice guy. "My name is Jiro. What's yours?" He tried asking her hoping she would responded. He notice that others were now out and heading there way to school. She pulled out her phone to check the time so he took the chance and asked "Cpuld you tell me what time is it?"
