At age 17, Connor ran into an elderly hermit in the woods. The hermit, actually a kind old enchanter, enchanted Connor's sword so that it could 'light up on even the most darkest of nights', which Connor found out basically means it'll light up in the dark and is pretty useful against people who use or are powered by dark magic.
Connor, now 19, was spending the night at an inn when he heard of the sword Earthrent. He set out the next day in search of the legendary blade to replace his old sword.
Personality: Connor is a curious and an adventurous fellow, which oftentimes leads him to dangerous situations which he believes makes the adventure all the more fun. He is rather sarcastic and is usually called a smartass, due to his wisecracking at even the most serious situations. Race: Hobgoblin - Hobgoblin Race - Hobgoblins are renowned for their expertise with fire, or more specifically, what they can make with it. As coined by their "favorite creatures", the Humans, Hobgoblins are great cooks and ironsmiths, and specialize in various steels from just about every kind of metal you toss at them. This puts them at odds with a few other races (or, did, in the dwarves' case; you don't see too many of those little ones any more) for who is the best craftsman, but considering the Hobs (for short) just got their distinction from the rest of their ilk not too long ago, it isn't surprising to say that the Hobs were given the benefit of the doubt when their blacksmiths opened up. Like orcs, they love to use lamellar designs, as they're light, maneuverable, and protective for all their troubles, using as little steel as possible (because from where the goblinoids originated, most iron was refined via iron sand. Large chunks of ore were unheard of.) Their skin tones, unlike those of their greenish-yellowish-rainbowish colored brethren, are always shades of grey, and are a lot more matte because of their hygenic nature. They have eyes the color of gold, amber, and ruby, and stand about the same height as humans, as well as stand in the same weight range. Rumors say that the hobs have a bit o' man blood in them, which might be true, considering there's also a million hues of half-hobs half-men and whatnot running around the world...or well, wherever he came from.

Through his father, Iosef retains a powerful build within his small 5'6 frame, and also keeps his coal-grey complexion. Unlike his father, though, he has quite the desirable face of that of a near-effeminine boy (think soft, pouty lips, a small, but pronounced chin, etc.), and has full, luscious, onyx-black hair that will bald much later than most others' do. He weighs only an average 117 lb., though each pound is well defined in the taut muscles he has. He has amber irises and a very slight almond shape to his eyes.

Most of the time, Iosef is a mellow, lax individual that takes both successes and failures in stride...or so some may think. In reality, he's every part perfectionist his father was with just about everything, be it studies, work, or even in play. Though he isn't going to impose on people, he does get genuinely upset at people who are a little too lax for his tastes.
By the definition of upset, it includes tirades, insults, and on the extremes, threats and violence.
On the other end of the spectrum, though, he lives up to his ancestors' reputation as tricksters and thieves. He's quite...dubious towards haughty individuals, but he does say it's for "their sakes", whatever that would mean.

Backstory: The Dark Knight Maryvale Blood - she is loyal to the King and sworn to obey the Grand Marshal of the kingdom. Living amongst the rabble in a prestigious city which denied her, Maryvale was essentially left to rot in her home city of Dou. Hungry, without a home, and no one to call family, Maryvale was on the verge of death when she was saved by the Grand Marshal of the kingdom. He raised her like a daughter, teaching her the ways of the Dark Knight, and thus Blood reveres him as both a father and a messiah.
She is never seen without her armour, and her voice is apparently distorted due to some kind of mechanism within it. She works closely with the Grand Marshal to help him accomplish his goals, and her skill with a sword and magic are rivalled by those in the Grand Marshal's personal guard. However, she is not without her weakness'. A lowly sense of direction and self-sacrificial combat abilities make her easy to confuse and defeat given the chance. Additionally, her knowledge on most things literate are poor, to the point that even her pronunciation of some words being wrong. Outside of combat or the use of using technology, she's practically useless.

Notable equipment:
- Dark Vibrance, Maryvale's primary blade. It's incredibly durable, though slightly heavy, and works well with channeling dark magic, which Maryvale is quite capable of. When you go up against Dark Knight Blood, this is the weapon you face.
- Max Healing potions (x5); Maryvale uses these in extreme emergencies, when she's taken too many hits and is on the brink of losing consciousness or even dying. They are pretty much an instant heal, however drawbacks include the possibility of poisoning, which can go on for days, and paralysis which lasts for a short time.
- Dark Knight Armour: as seen in the image below, Maryvale dons a sleek set of armour befitting a Dark Knight. Whilst it's difficult to say what it's made of, one can be certain it's pretty durable, which is essential for Maryvale for without it she would likely die far more quickly.
- Journal: Maryvale keeps a journal upon her person at all times which she takes notes about pretty much everything in. Despite her ineptitude for reading and writing, she has many entries, most of which appear to have been drawn out or written in for her by another.
Abilities:
- Self-healing: Maryvale's signature trait is her self-healing ability. It begins several minutes after she has taken damage, and begins to reconstruct her body via magic. It's limited to physical injuries and poisoning, and makes her unable to regenerate any magic whilst she's healing, and any movement more intense than a walk pauses the process. However, the fact she can regenerate any physical injury given time is what makes her stand out the most. Of course, the more severe the injury, the longer it'll take to heal. A cut 1cm deep and 5cm's wide will generally take about 45 minutes to fully heal whilst walking.
- Black Magic: Maryvale also has the ability to use black magic. This black magic is purely dark magic and can be channeled through her blade so to maintain a more accurate "stream", though nothing that resembles enchantments can be used. More often than not this black magic inflicts some kind of physical damage or drains the life force of Maryvale in return for it's tremendous attack power, however this can be used to her advantage.
- Sacrificial Magic: another magic limited to the self, sacrificial magic is the magic that revolves around taking something away in return for power. In this case, by using Black Magic spells and attacks, Maryvale's attacks get stronger as more damage is inflicted upon her. She even has an ability, Reverse Sword Strike, in which the damage in which she has taken is applied directly to an enemy.

Sir Gorun of House Gravelbeard

Race: Dwarf
Personality: Unlike most dwarves, Gorun abides by many dwarvern traditions but understands those who either choose not to or follow different ones. Additionally, he is curious about other traditions and will also ask questions about them. He considers his sense of honor to be a major part of him, and is loyal to those who are loyal to him. He does respect rank, although he may grumble periodically about the order of things. He appreciates hard work and will not tolerate those who do not try.
He is talkative and cheerful most of the time, as he does not believe there is a point in silence. Politically, he appears to be something of a libertarian. He is quick to assign people to the friend or foe category, and will treat someone as if he has known them for years despite the time of their relationship.
Appearance: Short, Stout, and muscular, Gorun is the image of a dwarf. He appears to be about fifty, with some mild wrinkles going across his skin. His eyes are a dark gray, and when emotional the whites of his eyes will turn gold. Unlike most dwarves, he has a small tan indicating that he has spent some time on the surface. He sports a large beard, and all of his hair is a dark grey.
His house emblem is a gold double sided axe with grey beards extending from beneath the blades.
History: House Gravelbeard has historically belonged to the minor nobility within the capitol, using sons as either men-at-arms or minor supervisors of industry. Most Great Houses & Middle Houses are able to have their sons become squires at a young age and train one on one underneath the supervision of a knight. It is considered uncommon but not rare for a minor noble to be knighted for talent, as being a knight is something of skill, not blood.
Gravelbeard realized Gorun's talents in combat quickly, and sent him to military training at a young age. Originally hot-headed, angry, and ready for glory, Gorur learned about teamwork and the importance of respecting others as he trained with his peers. Like the rest, he followed orders to an incredible degree, believing that their military society would lead them to glory. He fought many battles and many friends died while trying to secure the deep roads for greater dwarvern expansion. However he countinued to serve with faith.
His House was eventually bankrupted and sent packing for a fortress on the most extreme outskirts of the kingdom, Lockstead. At this new place, humans and elves and many other creatures lived in a town outside the caverns where the dwarves slept. The area had a wealth of culture and initially Gorun was angry at it. Over time without realizing it he gained friends within the town. He married a halfling, Maruna. He continued to train and fight in minor skirmishes, and was eventually promoted from a man at arms to a knight after showing his skill individually in a difficult one. He was ecstatic. His questioning of dwarvern superiority left and he started to treat his non-dwarvern friends as inferior, including his wife.
Mid-Way through his abusive relationship, losing friends, and being a general ass a siege happened. The baron of the fortress ordered the doors closed to the rest of Lockstead, allowing all those outside to be killed. Gorun was stunned, shocked, and enraged at this action. Everyone could have been saved, but the baron did not care for the lives of the non-dwarvern people of Lockstead. Getting in a heated argument with the baron about this, the lord threatened Maruna and was killed in return.
After leading Lockstead to victory and taking the fortress for Gravelbeard, Gorun sent in a letter of resignation to the kingdom's administration and left with his wife for Sadia, leaving Lockstead in possession of his father, who banished Gorun for being dishonorable. In Sadia Sir Gorun apprenticed beneath a Mapepo (rat person), Sirul, and learned the art of enchanting. Now, he travels the world seeking odd jobs that he considers to be important for peace.
Martial Skills:
It is Dwarvern Tradition for knights to become experts in a short and long weapon, with an expectation of being decent with them all. Usually these weapons are axes and hammers.
Guardian This Dwarvern knight began his service as a man-at-arms of a greater house, often serving in shieldwalls. While many Dwarvern knights born in greater houses end up favoring the lighter round shield for one on one dueling, Gravelbeard learned the tower first and stuck with it even when knighted. Hitting Gorur behind his shield is considered an achievement even among knights. He tends to favor the hatchet for it's speed when using the shield. He prefers to draw fights out when fighting this, to tire his opponents and learn how they fight.
Reacher Gorun uses his halberd as his medium ranged weapon, allowing him to pound through most opponents defense with sheer force then stab or slice them. Useful for breaking through shield walls. He is an expert in this field.
Single Sword Gravelbeard is not an expert with the short-sword, although when fighting without a shield it is his small weapon of choice.
Legendary Conditioning Wearing armor twelve hours a day means swimming with it is normal. It is not uncommon for dwarvern knights to fall asleep on the ground in their well padded helmets. You get used to it.
Descent With Almost Everything Else He has a working knowledge of the mechanics of most weapons
Passive Skills:
Noble He can hold and act in almost all courts in the land, respecting the customs of others while not submitting to them.
Miner He is a dwarf.
Stonesense While not as good as expert miners, Gravelbeard has an incredible sense of direction while underground.
Scholar Studying enchanting forced Gorun to learn reading and enjoy it. While not a professional, he is somewhat well learned.
Magic Skills:
Legendary Enchanter What is known is that his armor can sustain a ridiculous number of blows before failing. I have some pretty clever plans on how to use this, so I'd rather not tell anyone but the OP. If I do a reveal through RP I will add it here.
Inventory:
Belt Mythril Sword, Rope Coil, a few pouches for loose items, a mug sized and seemingly never ending keg.

Personality: Colmaz is definitely not one for conflict, and he feels bad about needless death, too. He's friendly enough, if a bit lacking in social skills, and he likes to think the best of everyone. He's fairly gullible, and he likes to do 'the right thing'. Some think he's dimwitted, but really, he's just optimistic. His biggest flaw would be how easy he is to mislead and manipulate.

Steel Dagger: Colmaz's last resort when it comes to defending himself. The sheath is soaked in a poison that causes dizziness and nausea, long enough for Colmaz to run away. If untreated, the poison could spread to vital areas and kill the person it's used on in a matter of days.
Miniature Crossbow: Colmaz's tiny crossbow, small enough to be easily concealable. The downside of this is that it's not very strong, and can't puncture most armors. This is mostly used for the application of potions and poisons from a long distance, keeping him out of the fight. Many times in his travels, Colmaz has been forced to use a little Sleeping Root on those who would seek to harm him.
Poisons and Potions: Colmaz, being an alchemist, knows how to prepare a variety of concoctions to suit your needs. He can fix up a powder to help you fall asleep, a salve to help with bad dreams, and a poison to kill you in hours.

Backstory: Born to a rich father of a neighboring kingdom, Alastor was sent to a prestigious academy to train to become a mage. He studied hard, and quickly became a very capable mage. His instructor, one Archmage Heph, often said that "Mage Viscotti can do anything". That all changed when he lost his left ring finger in an accident and found that he could not heal it. Furious at finding something he could not do, he began looking into dark magic to regrow his finger. He eventually succeeding in building an enchanted finger out of silver, but the dark magic involved drove him mad. His madness lasted just long enough for him to kill Archmage Heph in a fit of rage. He realised too late what he had done. He was banished from the kingdom with a large price on his head. Taking the new name of Damoni, he resolved to atone for his crimes; he would only use his magic when absolutely necessary, and would attempt to locate the Staff of Taurus, a powerful weapon that supposedly could raise the dead [it can't actually, though, although it is quite powerful]. Learning about the quest, Damoni resolved to locate the weapons to aid him in his quest.
Personality: Damoni is a quiet person, suffering from immense guilt for the death of his mentor. He prefers to avoid violence whenever possible, although he is a capable fighter when the need arises. He also has a dangerous side, and when provoked, will lash out as if he were still mad. Although he prefers to work alone, he will work with anyone to accomplish his goals.

Impaler: A short weapon, often described as a sword/spear hybrid, is essentially the top 18 inches of a spear. It is not very practical for fighting, but he has enchanted it to serve as a conduit for his magic.

The Silver Finger: The magical finger he got to replace his lost one. He can conduct magic through it, but he can not control it and uses it only as a last resort.
Staff of Taurus: Although he does not yet have it, Damoni is seeking to acquire this weapon. Resembling the horns of a large bull, the staff is capable of a wide variety of spells. Most believe it can raise the dead, but this is in fact completely false.
Damoni can also utilize a wide variety of magic abilities, such as alchemy, lightning from fingers, and dark magic. He can also heal people from non-magical injuries.

Life was not always so grand growing up in the eastern Elven Empire of Telnivir. Rather, it was monotonous to the young elven girl. Born to a family of nobles, Nirayane had everything handed to her upon platters of the finest gold, lavish, elegant clothing, precious, priceless gems and jewelry that sparkled so radiantly, wealth, all that a noble elf's daughter could ask for...except for her of course. She was smothered no less, protected as though she were nothing more than a priceless trinket. Her parents had even betrothed her to a wealthy and handsome steward of the Imperial Court, yet Nirayane felt no love for him, nor any sort of affection. Nay, what she longed for was freedom, liberation from her gilded cage, her tightly clenching shackles of obligations to the haughty and stuffy nobility.
Such came for her one fateful evening, when she had finally made her decision to cut all ties with her family and free herself from the bondage of her elegant lifestyle. She had only made it so far through the thick of the forest, until suddenly she was set upon by a rowdy clan of brigands, named the Black-Horned Elks, led by a brutish orc war chief named Torvald Stone-Hide. Torvald took the girl captive and chained her up in his personal quarters at the abandoned fortress of Raven's Perch, believing certain she would fetch a pretty coin from her family, but as the years waned on, his cruel treatment of Nirayane lessened and he slowly became smitten with the elven maiden. Nirayane the same had grown attached to the orc, developing romantic feelings for him, and soon the two were lovers. Through her time together with the bandits she became molded by the brutality surrounding her day in and day out and developed her own kindred bloodlust. Her orc husband took note of this and allowed her to participate in raids, pillages, and heists to satiate her fearsome appetite. She became skilled with an assortment of weapons, yet favored the bow above all, her prowess in archery nearly unmatched as she could kill a target from almost leagues away, earning her the title Shear-Breeze. Other attributes she learned from her savage companions were how to live off the land, to hunt for meat and for hides and to gather special herbs and reagents for brewing potions and poisons, and to tame wild animals, except for her husband of course.
Yea life was wonderful for the newly crowned Queen of the Elks, yet...how cruel fate be that this life as well be shattered.
Twas upon one grim day when a couple of bandits returned to the fortress from a recent raid, spattered in blood and with eyes widened in fear. The chief Torvald asked them of what they had done, and the men simply answered....unknowingly they had killed the wife and daughter of the Imperial Guard Captain. In his blind, berserk rage the orc beheaded them both and ordered to Nirayane and their men...prepare for battle. It wasn't long after, the Captain and his men came thundering towards the fortress with only one goal in mind, burn it to the ground. The battle was quick, bloody, and with numerous, grisly casualties upon both sides, one of which was the bandit queen's lover. Nirayane could only witness in horror as her beloved Torvald was skewered by many a sword blade before he fell to his death from the stone tower of Raven's Perch.
She fled the fortress with her remaining men, and through several dark and harrowing times, they traveled towards the west to the High Kingdom. It was during that period, the queen's crown began to falter, as did her leadership over the unruly brutes. They made several forceful, unwanted advances upon her, and soon the elven maiden was once again a slave. In her desperate bid to be free of her tormentors, she had no choice but to slay them in cold blood.
As if Fate herself had frowned upon her, the brigand's luck only grew worse, as she was seized at the border and imprisoned awaiting execution, seething with anger behind grit teeth and glaring eyes.
She had heard tales among the other prisoners of the Universal Weapons, but never took any interest in them. Her main goal was just...escaping.

Backstory: Gregory was born into a noble family, his father and mother were wealthy debutants and they enjoyed the finest things in life. Gregory however never took things for granted and grew up with a kind heart for the poor. when he was 13 he got into a fight with three other boys who were beating on a homeless man, Gregory wasn't much of a fighter but he stood his ground all the same. it was the worst beating he ever received. But the homeless man survived and Gregory knew what he did was right, it was after this night that Gregory started his training with the sword, not to get vengeance on the boys who beat him but to learn how to defend those in need when the time came. His teacher was the finest that money could buy and the man taught Gregory how to use a rapier like a master. by the age of 15 Gregory had surpassed his master and desperately wished to become better...to become the greatest swordsman alive...seeking a teacher he went high into the snowy mountains and found a dragon who supposedly could teach him how to become the greatest swordsman. Gregory trained in these mountains until he was 20 and he surpassed even the dragon who had taught him many magical skills and gifts to make him a sword master unlike any other alive. He could move at inhuman speeds and was so accurate he could cut the wings off a fly without killing it. It was here that he truly tested his metal he was forced by his master to fight him and Gregory slayed the Dragon after hours of battle. With his dying breath the Dragon gave gregory everything his knew about the sword in a spoken spell, Gregory was forever changed and his mastery of the Rapier was unmatched in the world. it was then that he set out to become a hero to the world, a beacon of change and hope for the weak.
Powers or Special Weapon: The power to move a quickly as a vampire and the strength to match. A dragon tempered Rapier that when called upon can still catch fire with dragons breath and cut through stone with ease.
