Slightly embarrassed by the compliment, Brooke looked down at the floor and fiddled with the edges of her sleeves.

"Um, you're pretty neat yourself," Brooke replied. "And I don't think the people here will hate you. Everyone here has special abilities, right? It's a place where we can belong."

It had been a little while - Brooke didn't want to miss the next demonstration, or keep everyone waiting for her. She climbed to her feet, then held a hand out in invitation.

"Come on," she said. "Let's join them."

@fourtimesninejack nodded in agreement, he took the hand and stood up, "id say its about time we did" he said as he followed brooke into the gym, after what she had said to him, he felt better about his powers, maybe no one will get hurt after all.

William looked at some of the others talking and started wonder why did people always seem to start to form groups no matter where you go. He sighs some and looks to his hand and to the celling, he looked at the lights and focused on one trying to turn it off, practicing his power as he waits for when he has to show everyone what he can do.. he needs to get a full hang of it or he may accidently cause some machines to explode and harm others.

Brooke entered the gym with Jack, glad that a friendship was perhaps beginning to form. She looked around, trying to remember where she and Jack had been sitting, before deciding that it didn't really matter and picking a random seat. She patted the spot next to her, indicating that Jack was welcome to sit by her if he so wished. A little too late, she noticed that she'd chosen a spot close to a pale boy with dark hair - he'd been in the gym when she arrived, but Brooke hadn't had a chance to learn his name. Should she try to greet him too? He and Jack might get along. However, she was less comfortable in large groups of people, and she didn't know if Jack would welcome another potential friend, or be upset that she wasn't using the chance to talk to him. Brooke sat there for a moment, paralyzed by indecision.

@fourtimesninejack found brooke and took the seat she motioned him him towards, he sat down and was happy that he made a friend, when he sat down he noticed her expression change..."you okay brooke?"

William's concentration would break from the light when he noticed movement next to him. he turned to look seeing Jack and brooke sitting nearby. he raised an eyebrow slightly then would slightly smile "hey..." he says bit softly towards them giving a little wave with his hand towards them in a friendly manner.

"I'm fine," Brooke said in response to Jack's question. "I was just wondering if, um..."

Fortunately, Brooke was saved from having to explain her thought process and make a decision when the other boy waved at them. Her dilemma solved, she gave a small smile and waved back.

"Hey. You may already know, but I'm Brooke and this is Jack. What's your name?" she asked.

"If you say so." Leo said before catching the disc and then walking towards Sara. "Just to be clear, I'll just toss this thing?" He asked, gesturing to the disc in his hand. He didn't want to embarrass himself by making the wrong move just because he didn't understand Sara's instruction.

"No." Sara whipped her hair back, and threw Leo a disgusting glance, as though had just gravely insulted her. "I didn't say 'toss,'" she explained with great emphasis. "I said throw. When I say 'pull' I want you to chuck that thing across the gym. Got it?"

"Alright." Leo said. He then stood in attention, waiting for her cue. The two never seemed to be on better terms than this. He apparently got on her nerves but then again... most people do. He then looked back at Sara, waiting for her cue before he would throw the disc.

William gave a slight smile "I didn't know really.. haven't really been paying attention to much to the others here..." he states in a low voice "I'm William, William Stukov" he tells them "What is it that you two can do?" he asks slightly curious sense he figures everyone here has some kind of special ability.

"I can make portals," Brooke replied. It felt a little odd to talk about their abilities so casually; they were conversing about being able to shape darkness or warp space in the same tone that other kids might use when talking about hobbies or favorite ice cream flavors. Brooke decided that it was a good thing.

"What's your ability?" she asked William.

He raised an eyebrow at them "Darkness and portals hu.... that's neat" he says "..me?..." he looks at his hand "hard to explain.. sense my power has two parts to it. but I can control machines, a technopath or what ever you call it" he says looking up and the light directly above them turns off and then turns back on. "My body itself.. is the other part... it's different..." he says rubbing back of his head turning to look at them and raises his other hand... which they would see the skin of his hand meld into a robotic form of itself. "My body is both mechanical and organic.. there is no difference between the two for me.." he states. "Blood is oil.. Oil is blood... Flesh is metal... Metal is flesh.." he says as his hand turns back to a regular human hand.

"That's really neat," Brooke said as she watched William's hand shift smoothly between metal and skin. They could do such amazing things. Feeling like she should demonstrate her power too, she tried to make a pair of portals. At first, nothing happened - it was like she'd called her power, but it simply wasn't there. Brooke tried harder, and slowly, a small rectangle faded into view in front of them. It showed the street in front of the orphanage, since that's where the other portal was placed. A breeze of fresh outdoors air emanated from it.

Proudly, Brooke said, "That's what I can do."

"We need to be moving on to the next activity you two." The housekeeper called out.

"My power's pretty simple so it's quick to explain. I'll only take a moment." Leo said, not even letting go of the disc before putting his hand forward. Light enveloped it and then took form of a metal sword. He swung it a few times before taking a one hand fighting stance. Although it looked simple, it was obvious that he professionally held the sword in his hands and swing with great accuracy. "Materialization. I can create any matter that can fit my hands. Weapons in need of ammo, I cannot make. Yes, I can make a bow but I cannot make multiple arrows to accompany it." He explained as he looked at the people around him and then to Ms. Smith. "That's practically everything I can show them." He said before he dematerialized the sword. "Since my power heavily relies on the user, I have to train everyday so that I can actually put it to good use." He concluded as he looked back at the people.

Katherin stood to her feet. She was glad that there had been atleast one verbal explanation. She hoped when the others took their turns there would be something more to it. There were so many new people that she doubted that most of them would remember that there were two blind kids that needed them to verbalize as much as possible. She wondered what they were going to do next. She was eager to learn more.

"Alright!" Once again, Sara assumed a horse stance. This time, her right hand was help up, level with her eyes. Fighting the wild side of her mind, she focused on the flow of her energy, centering it into the palm of her hand. When she could feel that it was ready to release, she drew the hand back as though winding up for a punch.

"Awe Dammit!" Her face pouted. Angrily, she threw her right hand off to the side, releasing the pent-up energy, which dispersed relatively harmlessly onto the specially crafted floor. Head hunched between her shoulders and eyes narrowed, she sulked back to the group, leaving Leo to explain his power.

"Are you coming Thomas?"Katherin asked as she stood to her feet. She had waited until most of the noise had drifted away from them. She figured most of the others were by the door heading to there next destination. She knew Thomas knew where hey were going but she was still nervous about being left too far behind. She wondered where they were going the housekeeper hadn't said.

William stood and stretched "come on you two" he says with a chuckle "got to see what this place may have in store for us next" he says as he heads to follow everyone else.
