It's just that because Botan is 'hot' and becoming popular, people try to dehumanize her and make her more of an object than a person. Not everyone cares about who she is, rather it's how gorgeous she is, and how good she looked wet. It's... a problem, a problem he wants to solve quickly, and unlike any other time he'll want a small audience to see him get upset. This is a rumor he will be glad gets circulated. Don't. Fuck. With. For the love of god make it a comical case. Some old woman who knows she's dead but doesn't want to leave because she wants to take her shogi set with her, but she can't because she's totes dead, and she's not fucking leaving without her shogi set and she beats the shit out of Botan with her own oar xD

Sure, be a perv all you want but considering the circumstances, keep it to yourself cause gossiping like nasty fuckers is one sure fire way to get Kurama to nearly murder you. And he's such a nice guy, I think it would be quite notable for him to get pretty scary pissed off should some doofass be stupid enough to mention the event in such a disgusting manner. He will probably make it pretty damn clear that any sort of talk of that nature would be met with some bad consequences.

That sounds so fucking cute. Reaping old people is probably a lot more delightful and cute than people who are young and feel like they weren't ready to go. But imagining an old lady stubborn but in the sweetest sense, is pretty fun. We made need to bring that into the IC at some point, maybe when Kurama shadows her but before a tough one?

It's going to be SUPER out of character for him, but no one's going to doubt it because no one ever has a reason to start a nasty rumor about Kurama. He shows up to school with a secret girlfriend he had kept from everyone all that time. It makes sense that he'd go to great lengths to protect her, especially considering what almost happened to her. I don't think anyone has the guts, boy or girl, to confirm it. People just believe it. And Botan isn't spoken badly or disgustingly about at school again. They can keep that shit to themselves.

Yeah we can make it maybe the first one they handle before the harder, tear-jerker types. And it figures the ONE he doesn't show up for is the one that has Botan come home fighting a lake full of tears, right?

EDIT - Done. I LOL'd at "Demons afoot", even if it was my own joke. And I could have gone on and one about how to fight but there wasn't time, and there was no sense overloading Botan with more information than she needed to dispatch a lowly demon. Also, I swear, the demon's just going for the chest because it wants to hold on to something. If Botan misses and it lands on her chest, well, she has a second chance at beating the shit out of it. Incidentally then, this is almost a blessing in disguise. The lackey is somewhat exposed and there's a lot less gossip/talk around school regarding the new hot couple at school. But then again, that's a thin silver lining compared to trauma. ^^;

Of course, we gotta introduce some safe fluff before the waterworks are summoned. We're evil.

Btw, I had a tough time falling asleep cause of the dogs so I lurked and read most of it last night and it made me super giggly. Gotta love Kurama's insight on his own friends. I think in my post, it'll be somewhat short since I don't think we need to skip to tomorrow after class just yet. Unless you want me to? Gen, lurking for MWAH? I'm touched! I'm telling you I'm looking forward to the cameos in the future~ As to skipping, it depends on what's left for these two to discuss. Did you plan on Botan to dispatch it in one strike as planned, and if so did you want Botan to get into how she would like to learn more? Her approach can't be as rash as Yusuke or Kuwabara's, and she's not nearly as fast and lethal as Hiei. With Kurama, she could learn the proper amount of restraint, and maybe ask for pointers when they have time that doesn't involve schoolwork or the investigation? We can extend the night a little more in that case. Shiori already thinks they're making out.

And I'm very glad you liked it. It's what I do this for :D

I really wanted to reply but knew by the time I'd log on, I'd be back to my sleepy self but I did get a chance to think over some parts of my post at least~ I'd say Botan would approach her need to properly defend herself (plus the investigation is clearly a risk in of itself) and look to Kurama to help in that regard. She'd probably have no problem dealing with it in just a post but she'd know her own spirit gun may lack, despite having taught Yusuke how to use his, it's likely been a while since she's used the attack, hence maybe relying on a more 'human' approach like the bat, that's easy to have handy. I'd say another 1-2 posts for the evening, we could have them talk a little more? While Kurama is getting some insight into Botan, she'd like to do the same with him.

And it's a shame they can't be doing what Shiori thinks they're doing. Eventually...

It's okay. You got to sleep on the post, which is better than sleeping on just wondering how it turned out. So we'll have them talk about combat, some basic means of defending herself, tips and tricks to keep her alive and unharmed, and Botan telling him what she can do in detail. I don't think Kurama knows she knows Spirit Gun, and I think she should bring that up in your next post just to help Kurama out. As for preferred weapon, tell him that too. We can have them talk more. I was worried that I had Kurama become redundant with his realizing how little he knew about Botan, but that's the thing, he knows very little about Botan. Appreciation starts with showing her he's thinking about her as a person, not just a partner. Hopefully that makes sense? =/

Yeah, eventually, but Shiori's going to catch them sooner or later. I think Kurama could get handsy in the right mood.

His thoughts on her made sense, which was why I brought up her becoming interested in him. After all, like him, she hasn't seen another side of him other than a fighter/aid to the team. She's intrigued by his family connection and day to day life. It's nothing like Yusuke's and it's a refreshing change to be around someone who can hold a decent conversation. :3

I just don't want the viewer to skip past it because it's... going to be on Kurama's mind for a while, until he understands Botan as a person and appreciates who she is far more than she is used to. A thankless job like ferrying souls, coupled with the stress and pain of separate souls, is something she has had to endure alone. With that in mind, and Botan's intrigue in how he lives (and how incredible she thinks he is, to which he doesn't think he's that special), they have plenty to talk about.

I'm not trying to speed of pacing if that's what you're concerned about. I can pull back if you'd prefer? I think they're both trying to find footing around one another outside of the assumed acquaintance status they both hold for each other. He's beginning to see her as someone with real burdens, as opposed to someone who's just happy-go-lucky all the time. And she's beginning to see he's not just demon with high intelligence but someone who has serious ties to the human world.

I have an idea of what I want to do in my next post to 'teach' Botan some skills and things to keep in mind. This is going to sound messed up, but believe me it's not as bad as it sounds: Can Kurama trip up Botan to make his point? Don't worry, he'll catch her before she falls or anything.

Hmmm...maybe if it's done as an 'accident' as first and then he could explain his reasoning for it? Otherwise I think it might seem a little odd, not that'd she'd get really mad (I don't think she'd flip out unless Yusuke did it as a joke) but it would a little 'mean' otherwise. So yeah you can do that, as long as it's not like a 'dick move' lol

It's something she won't be aware of. It's not an accident, it'll be intended, but Botan won't know that until after he does it. It's hard to explain like this. Just trust me, it won't be rude, it'll be educational and something she can learn to take advantage of. Kurama wouldn't do it without good reason ;3
