Well, IC anyways, you shouldn't be too surprised if people oblige to the Black Knight's request to not help or do anything with him. Kinda the drawback of being a longer-type character is when people do leave you alone.

@liferusher And don't think I'm ignoring you either Yui-chan! Also I feel your pain. Ten hour shifts and people who just... Don't take care of their shit. Granted I'm pretty guilty of it too. But it all adds up, ya know? Find your escape! Together we can free ourselves from this nightmare!

@Lucius CypherIf the characters haven't been IC with him, then that is metagame knowledge. It also doesn't mean he can't be worked with because the NPCs are doing it because they all have the same goal.

But any who, I was just exhausting my options. I'll give the game until Friday, but then that weekend if nothing changes, I'll probably just make it a NPC mission.

@KalasDoes this consequence affect me for having jumped on a mission that could potentially become neglected? Lol

Not at all, though it could affect the RP as a whole. It just depends on the severity of the mission.

Think of it like this:
- Plugging Leaks is a mission to prevent a second wave of KBots, who have recently breached into General Interest, from meeting up with the first wave, who have broken through from Free Interest.
- Let's say that the first wave is successfully repelled but the second isn't because that particular mission was neglected.
- The ramifications would be another wave of KBots to deal with and a breach to close, since we can't just magic them away, can we?

That said, however, these missions aren't "OMG YOU MUST DO THESE RIGHT NOW OR U DIE!" They're just there to give you guys minor goals to work towards in order to complete a larger goal i.e. The liberation of General Interest. Which is what you're all there to do right now, admittedly, but I think you're mistaking the pace of this RP.

I've written up the whole plot for this RP, sure, but in order to keep it from being too linear, we've decided to write up missions to give you guys some manner of freedom to either choose to do them or not. Who knows, maybe a certain mission sparks some inspiration in one of you and ends up spinning off from the original plot? That would be ideal for us since it saves us having to plough through the pre-written plot at breakneck speed.

@Holy Soldier Well that's the other issue (Not the metagame thing); some of us do actually have different goals that just doesn't give us a reason to be involved in that mission. The Old Fucks are actually sorta looking for each other, even if I am taking the slow route by picking up cute girls and fighting the bots along the way. Joining just so you have enough players to participate is also a bit metagamey do, neh?

If it really bothers you that no one is joining the mission, why not ask? Find a dood out of our 20+ people and keel haul them into the mission. Just do what I did and tell them to be in this area and you'll come by and pick them up. Or maybe set up a reason for them to want to join the mission on their own accord. Maybe metagame, or maybe just communication, neh?

@KalasI was trying to give myself something to do because I have fallen into a trap that will have me frozen in time doing absolutely nothing until either: a) people show up in the distant future, or b) I just take the mission on myself.

I am actually more used to a linear game of goals/quests to be accomplished. Because sandbox-style would require me to invite people I know to the game to make it interesting. Seeing as I am a new player on this site, I haven't created a regular basis of user friends and my friends on the other two sites I RP on have no interest in coming here lol.

@Lucius CypherI was only trying to go along with what the co-GM wants. I first started this conversation by stating I could complete that mission "by myself" no problem if I have to. But the intention that the co-GM wants is for the missions to involve character interaction. I am simply trying to work with the co-GM do devise a way where Kala can get what Kala wants and so I don't have to rot in limbo playing the waiting game and doing absolutely nothing.

@Holy Soldier It's cool man, I understand.

It was never explicitly stated that you had to partake in the missions. If you'd like, you can embark on your own personal story mission and completely ignore everything else?

Additionally, if you need help coming up with ideas for said personal mission, sling me a PM and I'll be happy to help. That goes for anyone else too, I guess. :)

@Holy Soldier Bound to doing something, like: rp with a definite plot, everyone moves towards the plot by the timeskip and ideas of the gm. Sometimes these ideas aren't all that great and some people might not like them yet the gm involve everyone which would make it harder for solo people to act with others since they are all doing the same thing.

I think missions are a great thing, it gives an activity to do. Yet I have seen so many rps die by missions since people get bored by too long dragging missions. I would rather have fun and do my own thing then move according to some manual. Or so said: Thinking outside the box.

No grudges or anything rp, it is great.

Solo characters don't have to talk with others, they can merely bump into them or push them aside creating arguing. There are more ways to rome.

Im on a roll today with sayings, jeez

Even though, your character can just be an asocial dick and drag of a character without their permission if he thinks he cant do it alone. Hell he can even take my character by the collar and drag her off.

Now! DONT ARGUE T-T

@KalasWell, I joined this game because Bot-Killing seemed to be the meat and potatoes of the game. The missions give me the impression that if I do things outside of those missions that it will be for nothing because it won't have a storyline or game-changing affect. I thought that the missions were the only scenarios where anything you would do would actually matter toward the game's overall plot.

@Holy Soldier You signed up for a mission with a team requirement, but right now you're the only one in it. Just so I'm not beating the dead horse though, I suppose you'll need to work stuff out with Kalas to turn that mission into a more minor solo thing, if you can't wait for others to join the que. Though I get the feeling that if it's handled like that, the overall result wouldn't be quite, how to say, effective to the grand scheme of things. After all it wouldn't be much of a story if it only took one guy to liberate an entire sector of Kbot, yeah?

Though it would prove a point that the KBot's aren't really a threat if it only takes one guy to clean them up, and that this entire crisis is being overblown.

@liferusherlol I also mentioned this. Matheu would not ask for help because he has a superior complex. The 1x1 section would end in the Modkit being used I think that was it? Oh well, Terminal's eraser gun before Matheu would admit, "Well, that went bad." *walks away* He would see the end of the world happen before he would admit that he couldn't have prevented it or not let it happen.

@Lucius CypherHe has three Peacekeeper units with him. He would not be a one-man army. I also haven't written him taking down an N-KBot by himself. He did it with the units. I actually make the KBots way more intelligent than how most people are writing them. They are crazy intelligent the way I write them, and they would continue to be if I was to write out that whole mission scenario.

Well I write the plot, so It's probably within my capabilities to figure something out and have it relatable to the plot. I get that you want your guy to be important to the plot, which is perfectly natural, but with an RP this populated, it's challenging to be able to cater for every single player. That said, I'm willing to help you out.

So let's continue to hash this out in a PM thread to save us cluttering up the OOC. Sound reasonable?

@Holy Soldier Well, I guess now the issue is whether or not you yourself are willing to wait and work with others, or if you want to go ahead and do the mission solo so no one has to drag you down.

@Cynder I might want to postpone my appearance in the RP. Cause right now I just can't find the interest to post. I am too much into Rust and other games atm. But I'll help with the map thought ;D

That's alright with me, just try not to fall too far behind or else you'll lose even more inspiration.

I feel very late. @Kurai Assassin, @Krinos Solstice, @Cynder, I'll post tomorrow!

I'd also like to sign up for KBots! Come And Get Them!

Added you! Stay safe and good luck, soldier!

Hope my post sufficed at depicting Missions #1 as the staff envisioned it. Ended up only placing a couple squads of Peacekeepers, but I've got the feeling BKS will be bringing quite the force with them to hold the line.
