Friday Evening, 10pm, One Week Ago

Elissa shouted a goodbye over her shoulder to her parents as she exited the house. She had told them that she was going to a friends house. She smiled as she got into the taxi waiting for her, and they began to drive towards the warehouse her friend had given her the address of. Elissa had been told that this was to be the party of the year, and she was definitely excited to have been invited. Arriving at the location, she could already feel the bass through the leather seats of the car. The driver turned to smile at her. "Big party, huh? You sure don't seem the partying type." Elissa merely smiled; she got that comment way too often to be offended by it. "I'm more than fine." She handed the driver a twenty, telling him to keep the change, and stepped out of the taxi.

As it drove away, she walked into the warehouse. Almost instantly she was surrounded by dancing people and loud music. She loved the anonymosity of parties like this, all you needed to do was dance. There was no way to sit at the sidelines, no matter who you were during the daytime, everyone was included. Her thoughts were broken as the lights and the music turned off. People cried out and groaned, and Elissa could hear someone fumbling with the power switches. She sighed. This didn't usually happen, but when it did, it usually took a while for the half drunk DJ to fix it up.

However, the lights turned back on and the music started up almost instantly, and she laughed, glad to not have her night ruined by a simple electricity muck up. She continued to dance, not realising that her and everyone elses lives had just changed completely...

Thursday, 9am, Present Day

Elissa took a drink from her water bottle, careful not to accidentally make the water float into the air like last time. Her powers had been out of control for a few days, and even now she occasionally slipped up and did something weird. Just the other day she barbecued the sausages... before she had put them on the griller. It took a lot of explaining about why the sausages were already cooked when she brought them out to her dad. She sighed and walked into class, sitting down.

Emily passed her a note. Sick party on Friday? Wish I could have gone. :( Elissa smiled at her friend. Trust me, you’re lucky you didn’t. Emily looked at her quizzically. She mouthed, ‘Power Outage’. Em nodded, pulling a face. “That sucks,” she whispered. Elissa sighed. If only she knew how much it did suck.

About halfway through the class, once the work had been set and the teacher was dozing at her desk, Elissa took out her phone, planning to text another friend from a different class. She noticed she had a new message from someone she didn't know.

For our lives now, for everyone we know and love, its us versus them.

I don't know who exactly is the 'them' of that line, but we have something deeper here.

That explosion, the party itself, there's no coincidence here. We were set up from the start to be exposed to whatever that stuff was.

They've been at it for some time now, slowly picking up some of the other people who were there that night. Some willingly joining them, most probably not though.

They're the others too, the ones who mutated their minds are gone, twisted into some kind of monster beyond all human form. Or using their powers for greed, or just plain chaos.

I made sure you're the only person I want seeing this message, its encrypted, and will be completely wiped from existence as soon as I find out you read it. They might think of you as a menace now, some kind of threat, but I know you have it in you to do something about all this, the right thing to do. As for who I am? Just call me Apollo for now. Trust me, I might be the only 'friend' you have anymore.

As soon as I hear back from you, meet me at the janitor's closet in the west hall after school. Once you're there, we can get this show on the road.

How did they know? Elissa thought, confused. And who the hell is this 'Apollo?' She pondered over the message, wondering what it could mean, and whether she should follow the instructions. I will. This guy obviously knows something about the weird powers I have. Maybe he can help me out. She smiled, then frowned as her phone started to try to fly into the air.
@Maria 127

"W-where are you going?" She asked nervously. "And, um, do you know where I'm meant to go?" She hadn't been told anything, just thrown in here, and she was nervous about running around lost. She hoped Matt knew what she was meant to do.
"Oh my god. Oh my god. He's been murdered... Oh my god..." Ruby whispered to herself, standing in front of Luc's house. "I can't believe it... Who... Why..." She was scared. Very, very scared. She remembered the murderer back in Spain, when she was but a little girl. There was a man who would kidnap children and murder them, leaving them in a mass grave under an oak tree. Her mother didn't let Ruby out of her sight for months. Eventually they caught the man, but at least 10 children were found in the grave.

Ruby was drawn from her thoughts by more people wandering up to the crime scene. A few women were crying, and the children were confused and nervous, fidgeting as their fathers tried to block their view of the body. Indeed, it was a gruesome sight. The axe had provided a useful weapon for whoever did this. It had probably killed him almost instantly. Ruby hoped it hadn't hurt the poor man. She felt a wave of emotion and did her best to stay brave, but knowing someone had been murdered in the village she lived in was a hard thing to swallow.

"Who did this? Who could have done this!?" Ruby heard the cries of a few hysterical people, and she was worried about what was to come. There would be a trial, and everyone would be considered a potential killer. She hated things like that. People would accuse friends, even family. Everyone would become an enemy. She worried for her mother and her brother, who she knew would more than likely lock themselves away in the house until the killer was found. She pondered doing that herself, but she refused to let herself. She could not hide away during a time like this. What if more people were killed? Sure, Luc could have been a one off, perhaps a form of revenge from some angered soul, but what if it was a crazed murderer? What if it was like the child killer from Spain? No, she had to help the others. She did not want another person dying. She took one last look at the body, and tears began to fall. She couldn't stand to look. She turned away.
Penelope walked down to the small collection of mailboxes near the front of her apartment block. Picking up the assortment of letters, she boredly shuffled through them as she walked back up to the small flat she shared with her mother. She was surprised to see that one was addressed to her.

"How strange," She said to herself as she opened the front door and walked into the living room, where she found her mother sitting on the faded dark green couch, watching reruns of some old 80s show. "Gimme the mail, Penny,"her mother mumbled, eyes glued to the screen. Penelope sullenly handed her mother the mail, save for the one letter for herself. "There's a list of things I need you to buy a the supermarket on the table."

Penelope sighed and went into the kitchen, picking up the list of items. "Being on summer holidays is meant to be fun and relaxing..." She mumbled, putting the list into her purse along with the twenty other ones she had followed throughout the three weeks alone. Her mother ate so much, and asked for even more. Sometimes Penelope wondered what would have happened if her father had stayed with them...

Grabbing a drink from the fridge, Penelope opened the letter and read it, eyes widening as she considered the hugeness of the details. She would get to go to an island, for free no less. And it sounded like she would get whatever she desired, if she asked for it. She smiled, excited by the prospect of a new life. She knew her mother would never let her go, but... She was almost an adult! She was determined to go to this island and discover new things. Alicia wandered into the room, mewling for food. "Hey there, want a treat? We're going to go on a journey..."

Three days later, Penelope was about to board a plane to Hawaii, struggling with her suitcase containing her meager belongings, which consisted of her clothes and a book called, 'The Haunted Symphony' while also juggling a cat carrier with a hissing cat inside. One of the flight attendants walked up to her. "Can I help you with boarding? Your cat will need to go in a special area of the plane, but she should be perfectly safe." Penelope smiled. "Thanks so much."

The man helped her onto the plane, and as he handed her her carry on bag, he pressed 5 crisp $100 bills into her hand. "W-what?" Penelope said, confused. "I know where you're heading, Penelope." He smiled and walked away, leaving Penelope gobsmacked. "Perhaps this 'Null' is more important than I thought..." She whispered to herself as the plane began to take off.

When she landed, she collected her belongings and headed to the port where the ferry was said to arrive. She held her breath with excitement as she waited for it to arrive. "Are you as excited as I am, Alicia?" She whispered to her cat, who seemed more eager to exit the cage rather than eager about the journey ahead. "Oh look, the ferry is about to dock!"
Player name: Asuna

Position in RP: Witch

Age: 17

Occupation before coming to the Island: She was a student at a local high school, and she also worked at a small cafe. She is quite good at making coffee, and is a outgoing and friendly girl, part of the reason why she got the job so easily. At school, she is a good student, and her grades were quite good. She was mildly popular, and had quite a few friends.

Reason to Come to the Island: Penny has always been an adventure lover, and she loves to travel and explore new places. A trip to a new place where practically nobody had been before, and for free? Of course she would go.

Companion: She already has a (to-be?) companion, a tabby cat named Alicia, who she loves to bits and took with her to the island, for company.
@Aisling Alright, I'll do my best. ^_^

"That's a good idea, Flutter. I'll catch some animals, if you want? I know you guys don't really eat meat as much, but... some of the others do." Tigressa says. "We shouldn't take too long though, the others will be waking up soon."
One Year Ago

Raven stood on the roof of the building, watching the man walk inside the hotel. He looked nervous, and his dark eyes flitted around the lobby, scanning every person in the room as if they were about to pull out guns and attack him. Her keen eyes watched him as he went up to the counter, talking with the receptionist before picking up the pink hotel phone. She knew from research; that phone called the hotel rooms, and the hotel rooms only. She was confused, why would her target be calling a room? She had been told he was alone, and he definitely had no accomplices. She had been told that he was going to the hotel to meet one of the other criminals in his business, and that guy was not staying at the hotel. She looked at her watch; the man was meant to walk in in 10 minutes. They would walk out together, and she would eliminate the target. Yet, before her eyes, her target was waiting for someone else entirely! Someone in the hotel already. She saw the elevator doors open...

She was shocked to see a woman and a small child exit. The man kissed the woman and picked up the child, but the two adults looked fearful. They gave something to the receptionist, and were obviously discussing payment of the room. Raven looked over to the roads just as the black car drove up. It was the man. He walked up to the hotel, and just before entering, looked up at her and gave her the thumbs up. Wow, this keeps getting stranger and stranger, she thought. What was meant to be a simple target kill now had the supposed criminal working for her employer and the target with a small family. She had no more time to think, however, as the two parties had met. That's when the man pulled out a gun and shot the child.

Present Day

Raven waited in the alleyway, silent and thinking. She had already discussed her plan with her 'target', and he was already in hiding in the location she had placed him. She had tracked her employer well enough to know that he came down this alley to buy drugs for personal use in exactly 10 minutes from this moment. Raven had already spoken to the drug dealer and... come to some arrangements. She smiled. This was always her favourite part of the game. The look upon their faces when they are killed by their own hire...
