Interest Check - Future RP Ideas

As my life is finally in a more comfortable spot, I thought I’d run an RP here to get back into the swing of things. Problem is that I’ve had several ideas floating around in my head and can’t decide on a single one. So I thought I’d get some opinions from anyone that may be interested.

Firefight on the Frontier - A Halo/Mass Effect style RP where the crew of the In Heaven’s Arms, a joint Human/Sangheili developed carrier, must work together to stop a Covenant splinter faction from activating a long hidden Forerunner dreadnought fleet and using it to wipe out all who stand in their way.

Protectors of the Netherworlds - An RP based in the Disgaea universe. You will be a part of the Nethertime Support Organization, a group dedicated to supporting and aiding those in need within the many Netherworlds. Said Netherworlds will come under threat by a demonic overlord, hellbent on unifying all the Netherworlds under his twisted rule.

Link to the Spirit World - A Yugioh RP where varying styles of dueling will take place. An ancient evil, sealed within the Spirit World, threatens to be released upon the multiverse, and you will be one of many chosen duelists to stop it. More casual decks are preferred, this isn’t a competitive league with Tearlaments running rampant, so use what you like, not what’s the meta.

And those are my ideas. I hope I’ve interested some of you and would love to here what RP you’d like to be a part of.

“In the year 20XX, the world has become interconnected through the Net, a vast computer network through which humanity has used for communication, commerce, and even crime. Within this advanced network, humans are able to interact with each other and the world through the use of their own personal computer programs, known as NetNavis. With these programs, humans are able to easily complete tasks and remove viruses from their day to day lives. Some have even taken up NetBattling, competing NetNavis against each other in friendly battles and tournaments. It is because of this network that the world has seen an era of peace through technology, but this peace is only skin deep. Within the bowels of the Net lies the Undernet, a dark and twisted expanse of the Net where every kind of shady individual calls home. Here, a group is rising, recruiting, and in some cases creating, like minded individuals for an all out assault on the Net, and then the world. The only thing stopping these network terrorists and their viruses are the NetBattlers and scientists working day and night to keep the peace.

Here in Den City, up and coming NetBattlers attend the prodigious ACDC Academy, learning the ins and outs of the Net, and competing with each other to sharpen their skills and make new friends. It is here where an unlikely group of people will be brought together through unknown circumstances, to decide the fate of the Net and even the entire world. Are you ready? Then get ready to Jack In!”

Terms

NetNavi: An A.I. program developed for the purpose of work within the network. Whether that be maintaining and repairing damaged and/or hacked mainframes and devices, or finding and deleting viruses that form in the network. NetNavis are tailor made for their operators and are carried in portable terminals called PETs (PErsonal Terminals).

NetBattling: The act of fighting against another NetNavi or viruses. NetNavis are provided with data chips by their operators that allow them to unleash many varied attacks. In the case of NetNavi v NetNavi, instead of being destroyed like a virus would, a losing NetNavi has its physical form temporarily deleted, in which the data within the operator’s PET will reform the NetNavi as if nothing had happened. This function, however, has been known to be disabled by hackers and underground illegal NetBattlers, resulting in the complete deletion of the losing A.I. Such tampering of this function is looked down upon and is considered a crime.

Locations

Den City: The largest and most technologically advanced city in the country of Electopia. It’s large, interconnected subway system allows for easy access between the many other towns and cities in the country. It is also home to SciLab, a massive government sponsored research facility that is responsible for the network as a whole, and is even responsible for the development of NetNavis and the PETs (PErsional Terminal) that house them.

Yoka Village: A rural town on the edge of Den City, famous for its zoo and traditional inn. The zoo is the only source of advanced technology in the town, containing a mini network that controls the animal cages and even monitors the health of the animals through microchips. Despite its rural nature, the village is quite well off due to the tourism that the zoo and inn attracts.

Beach Street: A busy port town, and home to the DNN TV Station. The beach along the port is a host to many festivals and parties. Overlooking the port is the Seaside Hospital, Electopia’s most well known and advanced hospital.

Netopia: Electopia’s sister country and home to a secret netbattler base hidden within an ancient castle at the center of Castle City. It is also the home of NAXA, a massive space monitoring facility and the head of all space technology on the planet.
