Eryn headed up to the large building placed high in the large frozen mine, where a bunch of happy-looking miners came to greet her before she’d ever gotten into the building.
‘Oh, you look positively frozen! Do borrow some warm clothes, we have a bunch of spares!’ One of them said, looking super bubbly as he held out a couple thick jackets for her. The Pokémon world is sometimes a very friendly place. She then went ahead and asked about the frozen Pokémon and the Pokémon deeper into the cave…
‘Oh, the Lord has been there for as long as we can remember, and many thousands of years before that! Was the sea-level higher at that time? We don’t know! But it must have been really cold to have frozen such a creature there! It’s not the only thing frozen in here, this whole operation is to unearth what else has been encased in ice!’ one miner chuckled.
‘The mines are the safest area of the Frozen Cave. Heading deeper you will encounter more wild Pokémon… albeit the only creatures you must really watch out for are Glalies. They are higher level than other Pokémon you can find, and they’re aggressive. The rest are, as you might have guessed, just regular Ice-types,’ another suggested.
‘Do also watch your footing. Even careful travelers sometimes slip and find themselves sliding deeper into the Frozen Cave than they intended with no way back. I definitely suggest bringing an Escape Rope. Here,’ one cautious-looking miner said, and handed Eryn a rope.

‘If you reach the other side of the Frozen Cave, you’ll reach Route 9! A frozen route surrounded by mountains. On said route, Cooldome City is built! It’s home to the Battle Dome, where experienced trainers can take on challenges over and over. I came from Sinnoh, and we have a Battle Frontier there. It’s basically that! You might not be strong enough to compete there just yet, maybe get a couple more badges first, but you sure could watch the battles at least!’ said one energetic miner.
‘So, do you want to mine?’ A large miner that looked in-charge asked her. ‘We’ve got all the equipment right here, pickaxes and drills and saws to get through the ice, feel free to borrow them. Some Pokémon, like Fighting or Fire-types, also help a lot. Ice is relatively easy to mine, but do it a little at a time, it’s resources we all share, after all. Lots of interesting things are frozen into the walls. We have maps with markers telling where people are already working, so you can tell me and I’ll send you somewhere we think might be productive with whatever equipment you want. Anything you find is yours to keep, or you can sell it to us and we’ll sell it in the Miner’s Shop in turn. What isn’t sold there is usually sent to Raremine Town. So how about it?’
Yep, she could pick up equipment to try her hand at mining here if she wanted.

Frozen Cave, Mines
Less than a cave, it feels like you’ve entered the bottom of a great ravine of ice. Long corridors with cliff-like walls stretch on, moving far along the western Mt. Chill mountain range. A cold wind almost constantly blows through the cavern, and looking for the source of these winds will reveal that far above are occasional holes in the cave ceiling which are letting in sunlight from above, and the light from there bounces on all the ice and brightens the entire cave in mystical light. This alone is a spectacle to witness.
However, perhaps the most curious detail is the fact these are, in fact, mines. Workers make their housing in tents, igloos and even properly constructed houses high in the mines. Human-made stairs, ladders and bridges spread across certain walls of the caverns where humans and Pokémon work to uncover the secrets frozen into the walls of the cave. For the most curious of both Pokémon and items are frozen into these walls, and these miners make a profit chopping them out. Perhaps you could join in, see what you might find?

Area Specific: Mining. People here mine the ice for items and Pokémon caught in the ice. You could too!
Connected areas: Route 5. Exit the mines and you’ll be right there. Frozen Cave. The Frozen Cave proper awaits beyond the mine.
Valfredo stared a couple seconds towards Dawkin, before shrugging.
‘Sure. Suppose I can throw in a couple-’ the noble then suddenly shut up, because something had walked in on them. Staring down between them sat a pink fox-like feline or something that stared up at them with two deep eyes and a red gem on its forehead. It had a forked tail that was currently directed at them.
Pokédex Entry #196 – Espeon, the Sun Pokémon. Born from an Eevee who felt immense loyalty to its trainer, it developed Psychic powers to protect its trainer. Its skin has a texture like velvet, and it is so sensitive it can use it to predict the weather and the opponent’s next move.. As its gem is bathed in sunlight, it charges its Psychic power which it uses to sense the future and the thoughts of others.
‘Geh,’ the noble made an annoyed noise before turning and marching away. The Espeon watched him leave, and then turned around and skipped back… to the more serious of the two pirate girls that had come with Zachery, who bent down to pat the happy-looking Espeon. She then proceeded to just shoot a warning glare towards Dawkin. Just a warning. She didn’t actually know what they had been talking about, but she sure could send a Pokémon to just prevent whatever it might have been.
‘So what will it be for you?’ Zachery asked Dawkin when it was his turn.
The guy with a bunch of Skarmories and a new Corviknight was still standing over there, admiring his new metal bird.
Stalford’s Ferry
Route 16 is one of the most dangerous routes on Isson, but there’s a way around. There’s the ship, Stalford’s Ferry, that looks nothing like a regular ship. While normal ships often find themselves in danger trying to sail Route 16, Stalford’s Ferry is a fortress of a ship and has proven time and time again to be a reliable way to cross to the Northern Landmass and Witchpeak City.
The mighty vessel can also keep you occupied as you’re sailing. You can attempt to fish out the open windows, you can find other trainers and keep yourself occupied while the vessel cruises to its destination, or perhaps simply attempt to enjoy the scenery… not that there’s much to see.
However, occasionally the ship does come under attack, and for that reason trainers are expected to be able to defend themselves, which is also why you’re required to have collected Kristy’s Gym Badge in Raremine Town to prove that you’re capable of doing just that.
One way trip is 500P.
1. Take the ferry. Costs 500P. 2. Seek trainers. There’s plenty of trainers taking the ferry. 3. Talk. They can be talked to. 4. Move along. Head back to Route 6. 5. Go Yourself. Surf on Route 16. ‘Good to know you like her!’ Zachery chuckled to Claire. ‘So what will it be for you?’ he then turned to ask Dawkin as Claire ran off.
So, with that Claire went off back to Route 6, and came across an immediate problem.
Route 6
Also known as the Vast Plains, it is not hard to understand how Route 6 gained such a name. Seemingly endless, green plains spread in every direction, only stopped by the natural borders that are the cliffs down into the ocean and the mountain range of Mt. Chill. Natural hills have formed, rolling up and down like giant, stationary green waves in this ocean of grass. These hills are also the only form of cover that you will ever get on this plain. Due to the abundance of wild Pokémon eating or battling the grass around here it never grows above the height of your feet. There is nowhere to hide here…!
This goes double. The Pokémon of Route 6 have nowhere to hide. They survive using speed, strength or both. Intimidation is key, in these plains of wilderness. In addition, there is a lot of them. You’re not able to look in a single direction where there aren’t wild Pokémon, to the degree that it is ridiculous. There are no Pokémon, not even rare ones, on Route 6 that you cannot find out exists here with just a number of steps over the route. This, however, means most Pokémon on the route are tempered for battle, it is among the wildest routes of Isson. There are reasons why the unprepared tend to avoid this route.
However, for potentially setting astride a large Pokémon, running across large fields of grass under a blue sky, feeling the fresh air blow past as you thunder on with nothing to stop you? There is no better place.

Seek trainers. There are travelers traveling on the eastern side of Route 6, heading to and from Raremine Town from north. Few go west and fewer go east.. 4. Talk. Intentionally avoid confrontations and try to get safely to the next destination. 7. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 8. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 9. Area Specific; Rapidash Rapid Delivery. Eastern side, by the entrance of Raremine Town.
Connected areas: More Route 6. West is a vast plain that seem to stretch on endlessly, locked between the mountains of Mt. Chill and the cliffs of the southern sea. Eventually leads to Lakewatch Town. Route 8. In the north lies a comparatively pleasant cliffside walkway with hilly terrain and wondrous view, leading to Freecape Town. Stalford’s Ferry. North-east, to take a ferry across Route 16 towards Witchpeak City. The only pleasant way across Route 16 is onboard a ferry, but even then… Raremine Town. A town of miners and researchers that study what the miners find. Also a stop for those who want to travel the desert!
Nothing on Route 6 is around level 5. In addition, the weakest creatures on Route 6 are Litleo, Ponyta, Starly, Doduo, Fletchling and Bunnelby… all but the bunny being good against grass-types, and not even that one is Ground-type yet. Not only that, but there’s a spree of stronger Pokémon on this route, the Tauros and bigger all being higher level. It would be very hard to train Jade here without assistance… so let’s go with the assumption she did not do so without assistance.
With Zeal to resist Litleo and Ponyta flames and Laurel + Tez to resist various birds, they could assist Jade with getting stronger. With that, plus that she’d eventually be able to take down Bunnelby’s by herself, eventually her Pokémon could get some nice training in.
Jade grew to level 13! Jade learned Bite! Jade learned Hone Claws! Jade learned Magical Leaf! Laurel grew to level 17! Zeal grew to level 19! Zeal learned Flame Wheel! Tez grew to level 18!
With that, that was probably enough training for now!
So now she could do that thing she intended on doing a while ago and head for Freecape Town!
To do so, she could head north through Route 8…
Route 8
To the west, there’s the massive mountain chain that links Mt. Chill and Mt. Strength. To the east, the ground makes a sudden nosedive down a couple of cliffs leading to the waters of Route 16 and/or 17. The area between is a flat, windy grassland, with plenty of bugs and plenty of birds preying on the bugs. Route 8 is a slightly leaning route that starts at the top of a hill by Freecape Town and ends up at the bottom Route 6, but it’s decently hilly on the way as well. The route is most well known for its birds, with Taillows, Staryus and Fletchlings flying about the place and Doduo’s running, but it’s also a place inhabited by curious mammals like Sentret and Bidoof. That, and bunches of Bird Tamers from Freecape Town!
On the west side of the route is the Tunnel. A dark cave that leads straight through the mountain to Cooldome City, a place where the toughest of trainers gather to battle it out in the Battle Dome. It is said that trainers who cannot overcome either the Tunnel or the Frozen Cave have no place in Cooldom City. On a lighter note, on top of one of these hills stands the Hall of Celebration, a place mostly known for the de-facto go-to place for marriages in Isson, both for people AND for Pokémon that like one another very much. Aside from getting married, it is also a place for bonding with your Pokémon and becoming closer than ever, the place holding a certain sway over potential evolutions that rely on friendship… but that aside!

Hall of Celebration. Famous spot for bonding, between people, Pokémon or between both. Also famous marriage spot.
Connected areas: Route 10. The psychic farmlands await north before reaching Worldedge City. Route 6. The vast plains of wilderness await south before reaching Raremine Town. Freecape Town. The hanging town of birds and nobles, it’s also home to the Freecape Ferrymen. Tunnel. A hole in the mountain. Those unable to overcome it are unworthy of reaching Cooldome City.
But this wasn’t her destination. She was heading for the town sitting here between Worldedge City and Raremine Town.
What she came across was a city that looked like it was built into the air.
Freecape Town
On the cliffs south of the grand Worldedge City, on the top of the hilly Route 8 rises a marvelous construction of mankind and Pokémon. Made by people who thought Worldedge City was growing too tight for their taste, the town was built straight above where the winds of the seas hit the cliffs and swirl upwards, placing the town on top of a massive updraft. People here are lively with desires for exploration and freedom. Here, many great travellers of the world were born, and it is almost natural that a young trainer of Freecape will eventually take to the skies.
The buildings of Freecape Town are constructed more vertically than horizontally. Stairs, elevators or flying Pokémon are the ways to get around the town. The ability for a Pokémon to safely Fly with their trainer is usually impossible until the Pokémon has trained in the Pokémon Flight Academy, which provides training and saddles for such a feat. The Air Dock allows flying Pokémon to lift much higher than they otherwise would using the great updraft, allowing Pokémon and trainers to reach much further than they’d otherwise potentially reach.
And, of course, most famously, Freecape Town is home to the merry Freecape Ferrymen. Need an item delivered? Need to be flown across Isson? Call them a simple number and a Freecape Ferryman will fly over to fly you wherever you want to go, for a certain fee, of course! Their prices are steep, but their track-records are flawless! Perhaps you’ll even get to ride with some of the favourites, like the Steel Ferryman or the Fiery Ferryman, or if you’re especially lucky… Maybe you’ll even get to fly with the Gym Leader himself? Oh, you didn’t know? He’s a Freecape Ferryman, too!
Flying about town are many Starly, Taillow and Wingulls, trying to collect food from the varying citizens of the town.
Pokédex Entry #396 – Starly, the Starling Pokémon. They flock in great numbers around mountains and fields as they’re weak on their own. Though this is the case, their wings hold a great amount of power. As their singing is famously noisy and annoying, they tend to be chased away from towns.
Pokédex Entry #276 – Taillow, the Tiny Swallow Pokémon. Many Taillows are young, just leaving the nest, and may cry in loneliness at night. It feeds off bugs and crops in forests and plains. It’s a very gutsy Pokémon, known to bravely take on tough foes. It likes warmer climates and will migrate during cold seasons.
Pokédex Entry #278 – Wingull, the Seagull Pokémon. It soars on updrafts by the sea, staying airborne without flapping its wings, skating across the sky like a glider. It dives into the sea to catch prey as well as shiny or valuable things, which it then hides in a variety of locations. Popular with fishermen, as when they gather around a spot it confirms that the area is rich with fish.

Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 6. Notable Places. Visit any of the places in the city! 6.1. Pokémon Center. Heal all your Pokémon. 6.2. PokéMart. Go to a store and buy things. 6.3. Pokémon Gym. Minor League Flying-type Gym! 6.4. Freecape Ferrymen Office. Fly you to any settlement you’ve already been for 500P! 6.5. Air Dock. Right by the great updraft, this dock is perfect for a flying Pokémon to catch the wind. Lots of flying Pokémon fly by. 6.6. Freecape Ferrymen HQ. Famous throughout the land, the Freecape Ferrymen can fly you wherever you want, for a price! You can collect their phone numbers. 6.7. Pokémon Flight Academy. Not all Pokémon are ready to Fly their trainer. Train them and buy saddles here! 6.8. Crazy Collector’s House. Found something rare? The collector might want to buy it for huge sums! Or, perhaps, you want to obtain something rare from him? 6.9. Maintenance Levels. Less populated paths lead down, walked only when something needs repair, yet it has to be traversed to get to Route 17. 7. Freecape Town Trades: Flying-type 7.1. ‘Hey, I run a construction-company and was thinking I’d get a Pikipek to hammer in my nails… Didn’t work as I intended. Want to trade me a Machop for it?’ 7.2. ‘We went to see Zachery, and I got a Rookidee! But so did my friends, so it feels a little silly having the same Pokémon. Want to trade me a Minun for it? I have a Plusle, so it’d complete the set!’ 7.3. ‘I… got a Bombirdier. I wanted to rest in its apron as it flew… it dropped me. I’d trade it for a Kangaskhan. Maybe it’ll let me rest in its pouch…’
Connected areas: Route 8. A hilly landside descending quickly down towards Route 6, populated by many birds. Route 10. A calm farm-land leading up to the massive Worldedge City. Route 17. Water-route crossing to the northern landmass. Going down through the Maintenance Levels is required.
After they had opened the way to Connie's Interdimensional Home, Mariette followed into the dimension with her usual elegant step. Her eyes melancholically inspected the various walls and the feeling of being inside an Interdimensional Home again with a feeling that compared to that of her own, and so she continued to gaze around, and...
and...
and...
...
Without warning, Mariette suddenly collapsed forward. The direction she collapsed was right towards the army of stuffed animals, that she impacted towards and promptly sank into. She then started to waddle forward, which probably looked a bit odd in that elegant dress of hers, gripping onto more and more plushies on the way, until she'd created her own mountain of plushies that she buried herself underneath. Portals opened in various places of the room, and gentle Mariette hands reached through them to pick specific plushies she liked, and the mountain of plushies grew so that no sign of Mariette could be seen beneath its soft triangular mountain range.
Eventually, everything came to a standstill, as the mountain of plushies sat there undisturbed... until Mariette's head poked out the top. It only poked out far enough that the tip of her white hair, her headwear and her eyes peeked out, and a gentle round blush of contentness could be seen on her cheeks. The rest of her was still buried beneath the horde of stuffed animals that she'd amassed. She would continue attending this meeting like this, unless Connie objected. These were her plushies, after all.
Mariette was looking very comfortable.
Both Ronin and Miko had to keep themselves from reacting to Mariette, after all, they ostensibly had no relation to this lady. Obviously.
Ronin had some doubts about what MDP was saying, buuuut... ‘Well, far be it from me to not allow people second chances!’ Ronin said with a grin. She had her doubts, but.
Then the mad doctor herself holographizes into the scene, and... well, to say she had changed was an overstatement. That said, if she was genuine in her statement that she was going to help, maybe she'd had some form of a change of heart on the inside, even if she refused to change how she acted on the outside? She was just being a little tsun? Actually, Ronin might just put that into words.
‘So, is the actual reason she wants to help that you managed to touch her heart and she's being a little tsun?’ Ronin asked MDP. She had her doubts, but.
‘Um. You're sure we can rely on her?’ Miko asked, remembering Ronin's story and was a little afraid she might backstab them for some reason or another.
Mariette couldn't be bothered, she was bathing in stuffed animals right now. That is to say, she was in paradise, looking very much content.
I do remember the thing you said about wanting to know the gender of the Pokémon you encounter. But, for the Pokémon you're training against, there's a whole bunch of them. You're bound to find both genders.
As for the Delibird, eh. If I have to, let's say it's male. Anyway. Nicely posted.
Oh, and for the Smokescreen thing. Absolutely, you can have Dei practice doing that. It's going to be a bit like how I write to Gardevoiran's Mac right now. Something that absolutely can be learned, but it's going to take some doing to learn something that isn't learned naturally.
I'm leaving it to you if you want to head for Bigfjord or Worldedge. So, you want a bit of a pressing goal? Would you elaborate on that? I could absolutely produce something like that. I'll just relax a bit for now, though. You just got off a major fight, hah. Also, I'd rather you not travel with a group this big, but you can keep at least a couple. Hey, Claire's heading for Bigfjord City after this, ain't she? Hahaha.

Lesley's the only NPC here, she'll hear what Basil have to say and listen for what Amelia is saying. I'm going to assume that Amelia's problems are in-character and not something the player is also feeling, haha. Character development. I do like when you players interact, so I did want to give an additional reason for it. If you'd like something else, I am all for that, too. Anyway! Do keep going.
I like that little plan. I'm going to give it some backing, if you're okay with learning it over time. And also making breakthroughs where it's as dramatic as possible, hehehehehe.
‘Alright!’ Lesley says, waving a bit as Eryn takes off. ‘Take care of my girl’s girl, will you?’
With that, Eryn could get her Pokémon healed and ready, she went off towards Route 5. She’d been on Route 5 before, so it wasn’t a sight that was that foreign to her.
Route 5
Just as Stillwood Village is the least visited settlement in Isson, Route 5 is among the least travelled routes on Isson main landmass. The route is a steady incline from Lakewatch Town to Stillwood Village, with some elements of the base of Mt. Chill nearby, the waters of Dragon Lake next to it too, sporadic forest from that surrounding Stillwood Village and some of the plain elements from route 6 as well, along with a very traveller-friendly road makes Route 5 perhaps one of the most naturally stunning routes of Isson. There are no roads for asphalt here, only travellers are explorers seeking or exiting Lakewatch Town for some reason, as well as Pokémon trainers on their journeys.
A peaceful route without any real dangers, it still offers a lot of variation. Walk on the west side by the waters of Dragon Lake to potentially encounter some Pokémon of the lake. Walk by the mountains on the east and perhaps feel some of the radiating cold of the range of Mt. Chill to perhaps see some more mountainous Pokémon or maybe an ice Pokémon that stumbled out of their caves. The route is a bit cold, attributed perhaps best to the proximity to the Frozen Cavern, and it gets colder the closer the mountain you go. Multiple rivers run down from the mountains, part of Mt. Chill that melts, but efficient wooden bridges help passage over. And of course, patches of forest here and there.
The south of Route 5 opens up towards what people call the Vast Plains, or simply Route 6. There parts of the Endless Forest spread out to make things a bit more covered in trees, but as soon as you leave this forest, all you’ll see is plains as far as you can see, and that’d be Route 6. On the other side of the route is the forest that covers Stillwood Village, you need to enter the forest to get to the village. At the middle by the lake is Lakewatch Town, resting a bit above Dragon Lake. And, of course, the passage up to the Frozen Cavern lies up that hill, for those who want to brave the range that leads towards the enclosed and frozen Route 9 on the other side.

If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 8. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 9. Area Specific: Random House. Uh. There’s an excessively out-of-place red house in the middle of the route, the door standing wide-open. … Want to visit?
Connected areas: Lakewatch Town. Right behind you. Stillwood Village. In the north lies the forest which hides the village, Mt. Strength lying behind it.. Route 6. Vast plains start in the south-east, this route leads towards Raremine Town. Frozen Cavern. After an incline up to the ridge of Mt. Chill, a cavern of ice could guide the way to Route 9 and Cooldome City. Endless Forest. To the south, a dark forest looms. There are no indications as to why you’d ever want to go there.
Here she could train against Caterpie, Deerling and Scatterbug, sometimes even seeing the somewhat rarer Pikachu, Bonsly and Emolga. This is assuming she kept her distance from the high-level Sawsbucks that were just walking around here and there on the route.
Pokédex Entry #10 – Caterpie, the Worm Pokémon. It has a great appetite and eats green leaves larger than itself. Its feet has suction cups allowing it to climb on any surface. If attacked, it can release a stench from its antenna to ward off attackers. It is known to grow fast, and will create a cocoon out of silk for itself to evolve.
Pokédex Entry #585 – Deerling, the Season Pokémon. A Pokémon known to live in mountain grass, it changes its appearance based on current temperature and humidity, effectively giving it a new form for each season. People used them to foretell the current season. They live in herds and are very timid with other living beings, hiding quickly.
Pokédex Entry #664 – Scatterbug, the Scatterdust Pokémon. Using a dust which covers its body and regulates its body-temperature, it can live in any region or climate. If attacked, it can release a poisonous black powder which paralyzes upon contact.
Pokédex Entry #25 – Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon. It stores electricity in sacks inside its cheeks, which it unleashes if threatened. They live in forests, and use their electricity to roast berries. It monitors its surroundings by raising its tail and sensing electricity. If multiple Pikachu gather up, their power increases.
Pokédex Entry #438 – Bonsly, the Bonsai Pokémon. It prefers arid environments. If it gets excess water, it leaks out the water through its eyes, making it look like it’s constantly crying, which also serves to make enemies less willing to attack it. It is a fairly good mimic and is often mistaken for real bonsai trees.
Pokédex Entry #587 – Emolga, the Sky Squirrel Pokémon. It lives in treetops and holes in trees made by other Pokémon. It stores electrical charge in its cheeks, and uses this energy to assist flight. It has a thin cape-like membrane between arms and body which helps it fly, and this membrane is capable of discharging the electricity it has stored.
Pokédex Entry #586 – Sawsbuck, the Season Pokémon. They migrate according to the seasons. They’re therefore sometimes known as the “harbingers of spring”. Their horns carry different plants depending on the season, and the horns themselves grow to a size equivalent to its status in the herd. The leaders tend to have magnificently large horns.
As long as she kept wary of Scatterbug’s Stun Spore, she did have some Pokémon well suited for training on this route. If she aimed specifically for the electric-types, she could train Peri pretty well, and the load of grass and bug-types made training Atha a breeze. The Pokémon here weren’t quite up to par with her higher-level Pokémon, but they got some experience in, too.
Dei grew to level 16! Dei learned Dragon Rage! Kyllene grew to level 17! Kyllene learned Vice Grip! Tula grew to level 16! Erebi grew to level 16! Peri grew to level 15! Peri learned Rage! Atha grew to level 13! Atha learned Bite! Atha learned Dragon Breath!
Dei felt something inside him. Now, he can contain it if he wishes, to be released at a more appropriate moment. doing so mid-battle will immediately heal to full and give an increased likelihood of a moment of awesomeness
Dei was suddenly encompassed with a shining light. He grew taller, his limbs grew stronger, his tail grew longer. His head changed shape, and overall, he felt more powerful. When the light stopped shining, he stood there in a new shape, red in color, and overall much tougher-looking than he’d previously looked.
Dei evolved into Charmeleon!
Pokédex Entry #5 – Charmeleon, the Flame Pokémon. It is vicious by nature, it seeks out strong opponents and nothing excites it quite like a tough battle. By swinging its tail it can elevate the temperature to unbearable levels, and it can also cut using its sharp claws. When excited, its flames become bluish-white.
New Pokémon evolved! Eryn earned 2000 P!
But training here wasn’t her goal. She was aiming for a different, far colder place. As she headed closer to the mountain-range, Mt. Chill towered above her. There was a hill to climb before she could reach her destination, and the temperature quickly decreased with each step. As she stood before the maw, it was as if the cave itself was spewing out cold at her. Yet, she advanced. The cavern never really got dark, because there was light from the other side of the entrance, inviting her. At first, it was a bit of a normal cave, with some ice here and there showing purpose for the cave’s name. And then… the cave opened up.
Frozen Cave, Mines
Less than a cave, it feels like you’ve entered the bottom of a great ravine of ice. Long corridors with cliff-like walls stretch on, moving far along the western Mt. Chill mountain range. A cold wind almost constantly blows through the cavern, and looking for the source of these winds will reveal that far above are occasional holes in the cave ceiling which are letting in sunlight from above, and the light from there bounces on all the ice and brightens the entire cave in mystical light. This alone is a spectacle to witness.
However, perhaps the most curious detail is the fact these are, in fact, mines. Workers make their housing in tents, igloos and even properly constructed houses high in the mines. Human-made stairs, ladders and bridges spread across certain walls of the caverns where humans and Pokémon work to uncover the secrets frozen into the walls of the cave. For the most curious of both Pokémon and items are frozen into these walls, and these miners make a profit chopping them out. Perhaps you could join in, see what you might find?
… So, immediately upon Eryn’s entrance, she’ll stand witness to a Pokémon frozen into the ice wall before her. It’s a giant, majestic creature…
Pokédex Entry #321 – Wailord, the Float Whale Pokémon. Among the largest Pokémon ever to have been identified. It’s known to dive up to 10’000 feet deep with the air from a single breath. It herds its prey with the giant splashes from jumping and breaching the surface of the water, and can eat whole schools of fish in a single bite. The sight of one jumping is said to be breathtaking.
… It’s frozen into the wall. A sign besides it says, “The Lord of the Frozen Cave”. “don’t unfreeze!”
He appears to have been left here on purpose, because most other walls near the entrance are pretty well mined. So, here and there inside the mines, small red birds are walking from miner to miner, handing out things. One of them saw Eryn coming in.
Pokédex Entry #225 – Delibird, the Delivery Pokémon. The bag it carries its food with is actually its tail. It’s known to scourge up food all day to bring home to its chicks, but it also shares this food with anyone it comes across. There are plenty of tales of people lost in snowy mountains saved by the food of wandering Delibirds. However, sometimes said food is bugs.
‘Deli!’ The bird reached into its bag-tail and handed Eryn something.
Eryn received an Aspear Berry!
After handing her something, the Delibird simply kept walking.
What does Eryn like to do?
1. Find Pokémon. Note, there are more Pokémon in the tunnels than here. Unless you’re specifically searching the ice? 2. Talk. This is basically a small settlement. They probably know a bit about mining in ice! 3. Move along. Either out of the cave, or deeper into it. 4. Specify. Skip all the hard work of actually mining and buy what the miners are selling! Varies every day! 6.3. Comfy Igloo. If you just want to rest, have a chat, relax, restore health. 7. Area Specific: Mining. People here mine the ice for items and Pokémon caught in the ice. You could too!
Connected areas: Route 5. Exit the mines and you’ll be right there. Frozen Cave. The Frozen Cave proper awaits beyond the mine.
Back there, Julian gathered his troops and called out his Kadabra. He looked back at Erika celebrating with her new Froslass… and then shook his head. ‘I guess… I’ll ask you if you want an adventure later… or something,’ Julian told the Pokéball containing Pitri. ‘I’m leaving. Take us home, Kadabra,’ he said, and then his whole team was teleported away. Ellyn took a moment to simply gaze at him as he disappeared… then just ‘hmpf’ed and looked back to the current conversation.
‘What? We can totally go to Bigfjord City. You think that city’s more than we can handle?’ Maple asked, frowning a bit at what the rest of them were talking about.
‘That’s beside the point… I don’t want to go there,’ Ellyn muttered.
‘Ah! Such a brilliant pure maiden to see the good in everywhere, and not listen to foul rumors!’ Joshua held a fist up in triumph, crying a small stream of tears of delight, or something. ‘I’m fine with anywhere! If you wish to prove the streets of Bigfjord City aren’t that bad, I’ll happily come along!’ he continued.
‘… That said, the point about Worldedge City being at the center is accurate. Any which works,’ Ewan said, looking ready to go.
Erika promised Machamp a future battle with Chic, and he just grinned happily and gave a thumbs up with one of his four hands. And they were ready to go.
‘Alright. One exit, this way,’ Elana said, pointing the way and the group started moving. She knew the way by heart, and as such simply walked ahead and they could walk on.
‘Hey, how come you guys are traveling together!? Also, me and Ellyn definitely need to head south to get to Freecape and Raremine, we haven’t gotten the badges from those!’ Maple was happy to speak on the way.
‘Oh, yes! In the height of everything, I forgot to say so, but thank you so much for your timely aid! Had you not been there, the villain would certainly have put his hands on the price! Thank you, my sweet bubbly maiden and cool noble lady!’ Joshua called back to Maple.
‘Aw, gee! It’s no problem! He’d chased off all the Fighting-types I was gonna fight!’ Maple promptly forgot what she’d asked about. She then came to a sudden stop. ‘Wait, I was supposed to fight Fighting-types! I totally forgot!’
Ellyn then walked into Maple from behind and gently pushed her walking forward. ‘You got to fight a giant metal death machine. How many can say that? Keep walking, you can fry Fighting-types some other time,’ she said. Then she also glanced partly towards Joshua… ‘… and… if you would forget you heard that part, I’d appreciate it.’
‘Ah, the class of a lady undercover! It would be my honor to protect your secret!’ Joshua said, and Ellyn just sighed.
‘Right, but as to why we’re traveling together… we ran into each other and decided to, I suppose,’ Ewan reply.
Random chatter aside, they walked through the rocky tunnels and eventually reached an opening. Light shone through, and as they stepped through, once again sunlight shone down on them. They’d arrived on a massive, green plain.
Route 12
No fox-girls, I’m afraid.
Route 12 is a vast expanse that opens out west of Bigfjord City and north of Rainrock City. It curves around Mt. Strength towards the east, with the Fairsea waters awaiting right up north, and it serves as the primary route to travel between Worldedge and Pureplain. That, however, significantly downplays how wild this route can be!
Cliffs stand out from the otherwise grassy plains, remnants of Mt. Strength sticking out as huge bent rocky part-mountains with simple ramps allowing anyone to climb for an amazing view. Along the bottom of the valleys run clear rivers originating from the peaks of Mt. Strength, flowing down into Fairsea waters. On the top of many of the cliffs are little windmills, using the altitude to derive power from this shape of nature. In the bottom, following these roads along the Route 12 countryside, are also small homes dug into the sides of the cliffs by Pokémon, where both Pokémon and people live.
Route 12 is the main passageway to Redcoast and Pureplain, so there’s probably roads where trucks can drive wares from Bigfjord and Worldedge. There are many smaller roads for trainers next to these, where adventurers can feel like they’re on an adventure. To the west and north, Fairsea extends far, with the northern landmass and Magmagulf Volcano beckoning in the distance. The Travel Outpost, a dock for traversing Fairsea, stands to the north at the sea’s edge, at trainer’s disposal. To the south-east, Mt. Strength rises tall over the route, calling to potential hikers to climb it. Walking around is decently simple, but what’s the fun in that? At the base of Mt. Strength stands the Pokéball Factory, a robust building that looks somewhat out-of-place. Must have used the minerals the mountain contains, perhaps?
As for the Pokémon that are here… First things first, there’s a bunch of Zigzagoons and Poochyena.
Pokédex Entry #263 – Zigzagoon, the Tiny Racoon Pokémon. An exceedingly curious Pokémon which walks in a zig-zag pattern with its nose in the ground. It is skilled at finding items people have left around. It rubs its hard back hair against trees to leave territorial markings.
Pokédex Entry #261 – Poochyena, the Bite Pokémon. At first sight, it will bite anything that moves and threaten foes with bared fangs and bristling out the hair on its tail. It’s a Pokémon with persistent nature, liking to chase down its prey using its acute sense of smell until the prey becomes exhausted. However, if the prey strikes back, Poochyena turns tail.
As well, there’s a bunch of prey and predators around. Here, the prey are electric-types, gathering wherever there are clouds…
Pokédex Entry #179 – Mareep, the Wool Pokémon. It rubs together its coat of wool to generate static electricity that is stored in its fleece, which can more than double in size with enough electricity. This is how it keeps warm, so it discharges the electricity come summer when it’s not needed. The bulb on its tail grows more brightly the more electricity is stored.
Pokédex Entry #522 – Blitzle, the Electrified Pokémon. Its mane shines when it discharges electricity. They use the frequency and rhythm of these flashes to communicate. They gather where storm-clouds go, catching the lightning strikes with their horns like lightning rods in order to charge themselves.
While the hunters are fire-types, naturally following behind or just laxing about on the wide plains.
Pokédex Entry #37 – Vulpix, the Fox Pokémon. Inside a Vulpix's body burns a fire that never goes out. It commonly inhabits grassy fields, and will feign injury to escape a stronger opponent. When born, a Vulpix has only one snow-white tail, but with age and care it splits into more, warmer tails.
Pokédex Entry #667 – Litleo, the Lion Cub Pokémon. When young they live in a pride, but eventually leave to become stronger or are thrown out when old enough. They’re curious and hot-blooded, quick to investigate and quick to challenge enemies way out of their league. The stronger the enemy, the hotter the fire in its mane grows.
Oh, and there are Budews and Pidoves, too. Walking about or flapping around.
Pokédex Entry #406 – Budew, the Bud Pokémon. It is sensitive to changing temperature. In winter it closes its bud and endures, while in summer it blooms and releases its pollen. This pollen is mildly poisonous and can cause harsh sneezing. It lives near clear ponds.
Pokédex Entry #519 – Pidove, the Tiny Pigeon Pokémon. They’re very accustomed to people and flock around cities and parks. They harbour no fear of people and can be very noisy. They’re very forgetful, and is one of few Pokémon that might not understand a trainer’s orders when given one.
In addition, joining around where there are people are a certain number of cats, trying to garner favour and get treats… or steal from them, that too.
Pokédex Entry #509 – Purrloin, the Devious Pokémon. It puts up a cute act to fool humans around it. It loves stealing things for fun and will act cute in order to make people forgive it. If endangered, it will counter-attack with sharp claws.
So. What does Erika want to do? Just head on, or?
1. Find Pokémon. Can be specified what kind of Pokémon is being searched for, and how you search. 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Seek trainers. Seek out trainers and battle them. 4. Talk. See if they can answer whatever questions you want answered. 5. Move along. Move along normally, letting any events that may come happen naturally. 6. Hurry along. Intentionally avoid confrontations and try to get safely to the next destination. 7. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 8. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 9. Mountain River. There’s no place to actually climb Mt. Strength from this side, but that river goes deep… 10. Houses. Actual people have dug their way into the various cliffs of Route 12. Would you care to visit?
Connected areas: Route 11. To the south-west is the somewhat rainy route that connects to Rainrock and Redcoast City. Pokéball Factory. A robust building that probably produced the balls in your bag right now. Travel Outpost. A dock and a meeting place for those who wish to travel over Fairsea waters. Bigfjord City. At the end of Route 12, seaside, rises a grand, corporate city with large, black buildings… Route 13. A dark, somewhat electrically charged route by the Power Plant, leading on to Worldedge City.
Lesley was a bit surprised to have Basil ask to talk to her more, but she was quick to smile to him again.
‘Oh, you got something else? Sure! I was sort of intending on flying, but we could talk on the way, sure!’ Lesley said. Still, it appeared that Basil was a little delayed by talking to Amelia, but it seemed to be a decently important conversation so Lesley was more than happy to wait for a bit. They could walk when they were done talking.
Lakewatch Town
As one looks upon Lakewatch, it is clear it was once built by the side of the water. Yet, over time, Dragon Lake has actually increased in volume, the water-level rising and swallowing the town. Then the natural conclusion would be to move the town back, follow the water-level, and rebuild at the new shore, right? That, does not appear to have been the thought that went through the minds of the designers of this Town, which is essentially placed out in the water on top of older buildings, the streets of the town flooded in water and to get around one has to make use of their many canoes or get on the back of a Pokémon.
The town of Lakewatch rises fairly high for its size, and vegetation grows pretty freely around the buildings. Most buildings and streets have white floating cobblestone to walk on either side of the streets, with a river of water flowing in the middle. People here are highly accustomed to this, and the streets are constantly bustling with people heading back and forth, as well as people actually gliding down from the higher buildings from the roofs above using strange little paragliders. It appears people live in the higher floors, while business takes place on ground/water-level. There are canoes basically everywhere that anyone’s free to borrow, townspeople commonly jumping down on a canoe, using the force of the jump to drift it to the other side and then simply jump off.
Now, anyone could hear from the name that Lakewatch Town is the town that basically rules the Dragon Lake. The Lakewatchers are a group of people that regularly patrol the waters, and become friends with the dragons that live there. Tours by the Lakewatchers are the primary tourist attraction of the place, along with the fish that is procured from the same lake, and guides are trained to show the way in any surrounding areas. Their boats are also those who trade with the western side through Highhill, keeping the place alive and busy. Plus, there’s always the rumors of treasure or otherwise hiding deep in Flooded Lakewatch, and Descent Tower looms in the middle of town for those hoping to explore… but who really knows? It’s a nice and different place, definitely.

Lesley’s Major League Dragon-type Gym. “The Dragon Watcher!” 6.4. Freecape Ferrymen Office. Fly you to any settlement you’ve already been for 500P! 6.5. Lakewatcher Base. From where Lakewatchers embark to patrol Dragon Lake. 6.6. Lakewatch Docks. For getting tours of Dragon Lake, just taking a ferry or fishing! 6.7. Explorer’s Guide Service. With all these strange places around, Lakewatch offers guides to the surrounding areas! 6.8. Descent Tower. A tower in the middle of town, with stairs down to Flooded Lakewatch. Come prepared for the underwater. 6.9. Back Alleys. … What? Lakewatch has a darker section? What are you talking about? 7: Lakewatch Town Trades: Dragon-type 7.1. ‘I got Drampa because he looked goofy, but he’s just too large. I’d trade him for a Musharna.' 7.2. ‘I got Duraludon as bait for trainers. What I truly want… is a Smeargle! A Smeargle for my Duraludon!’ 7.3. ‘I got Cyclizar to ride over Route 6… but I realized I’m still scared. Trade me a Sableye for my Cyclizar? Because… pretty gem eyes.’ 8: Familiar Faces: You all.
Connected areas: Wet Caverns. Water-filled caverns that are located to the east. There’s a small hill to climb to get to the entrance. Route 5. The main exit of Lakewatch, leading to a grassy incline connecting mountains, forests and plains. Route 14. The waters of Dragon Lake are also known as Route 14. It connects Lakewatch Town, Highhill Town and Stillwood Village.
There wasn’t exactly anything particularly rare around here. As a rule, rare things don’t really live in towns. Otherwise there wouldn’t be much reason to leave towns. That said, Skylar insistently searched for something rare, and he found…
Pokédex Entry #347 – Anorith, the Old Shrimp Pokémon. It once swan in warm seas, it lives today only through reanimation from fossils. It hides behind rocks and then springs out with speed and clutches onto prey with its two large claws. While it once was a great swimmer with its eight wings, something in the water has changed and today’s water is inhospitable to it.
… an ancient Pokémon, crawling out of the grass over here, staring up at Skylar with a questioning gaze. Turns out, they have reanimated so many ancient Pokémon, there’s now some of them in the wild. How’s that for invasive species? Across time and space.
So, about finding a spunky Nincada. As long as he was spending around here, it was just a matter of time. Forge was training, when he suddenly faced a stubborn Nincada that started out by bursting out a Sand Attack while hidden within a tuft of grass. It then proceeded to continue throwing sand that got into Forge’s helmet and was really annoying, like the Nincada had found a weakness or something. Now, it was only level 12, so it’d obviously lose to Forge eventually… but it did pretty well and stood bravely against him, if that counts as being spunky enough.
Pokédex Entry #290 – Nincada, the Trainee Pokémon. It is usually found underground, using its antennae to sense its surroundings. It gains nourishment by tapping into the roots of trees with its claws as it await evolution. They are nearly blind, and avoid sunlight due to inability to withstand it.
Was that enough for Skylar to want one?
That aside, he had no problem training his remaining Pokémon on the other creatures that lived here. So, Paradise was too high a level, but for the rest…
Pretzlcoatl grew to level 20! Forge grew to level 20! Forge learned Aerial Ace! Bejeebs grew to level 20!
Skylar gets the feeling his team cannot grow any stronger here.
That is, unless they come up with more creative ways to become stronger, like what Mac was trying! Flame Charge is a move that cloaks the user in fire and propels them, albeit it is usually assumed they are also propelling themselves. So it definitely wasn’t as easy as just jumping into the air and then triggering Flame Charge to change direction or providing an extra jump.
That said, it wasn’t nothing. Albeit Mac was unable to burst up into the air to touch Seabreeze, he was able to jump higher than normal by bursting it just as he jumped, and he could somewhat change his direction, especially if he also helped out with his would-be wings that definitely look more like arms. What they were attempting wouldn’t be achieved with a single day’s training, but there was something there. There was the basis for something that could be amazing in the future. Learning a new move that doesn’t come with the basic level-ups takes longer than a day of training.
There was something there. If they kept at it, they could make it into something.
For now, though, they’d probably gotten as far as they could for one session.
So, what would Skylar and co do now?
Raremine Town
no cat-eared girls here, sorry
Raremine Town is a moderately large, bright town on the edge of the only desert in Isson. By some twist, the largest mineral deposits in the land is located right under the desert, making it an attractive place to build mines. From that, Raremine Town naturally sprung into being as a merchant town on the edge of habitability from where the mineral could then be delivered to the rest of Isson. The temperature is hot, sun blazing down on this land where plains slowly become desert, the atmosphere dry and unfriendly… yet, life and trees blossoms among the buildings of Raremine Town.
The ground is still the grass from the Vast Plains, with buildings on top of them. The modern houses stand tall with plenty of architectural skill put into them, tools for building and living sold inside the houses. Everywhere, one can see workers walking about, but they’re happy workers, with their families living close at hand in the town and with the finest equipment available. Oh, and of course, plenty of Pokémon that assist with the finding of ores and such! The trees, which appear to have been planted and grown all over town by the residents themselves, gives plenty of homes for local Pokémon to live.
Overall, it’s busy, with people walking and talking all over, an active town indeed.

For archaeologists, those who want to talk to Dunstan and those who want to resurrect fossils. 6.7. Stone Store. Where all the stones of the Desert Mines or Frozen Cave eventually end up! Lots of evolutionary and other kinds of stones! 6.8. Bug Garden. A garden within which bugs thrive. Vivillons can be hired here for tracking down the Mythic Oasis! 6.9. Warehouses. Because the things they mine here needs somewhere to be stored. This includes Ancient Pokémon, apparently, as some of the warehouses are pens. 6.10. Team Amethyst Base. Claire had been there once, she could find it again. 7. Familiar Faces: Vivia, Cathia, Florrie. Vivia’s still around, I don’t entirely remember when the two of you split up, but yeah. Besides that, there’s also Claire and Dawkin, both of them exiting town towards Stalford’s Ferry. There’s also Cathia, who is going to come out of the same lab somewhat slower. Somewhere in town is also Florrie, if you want to run into her. 8: Raremine Town Trades: Ground-type 8.1. ‘Hey, do you have a Burmy? Would you like to trade it for my Mudbray?’ 8.2. ‘Hi, I really like snakes, so I got two of these Silicobras. I could trade you one for an Ekans!’ 8.3. ‘This is a Toedscool. I thought it looked funny, so I bought it, but… I’d much rather have an Abra.’
Connected areas: Route 6. The Vast Plains open up to the north of Raremine. The shorter paths lead to Route 8 and 16, while west far enough leads to Lakewatch Town. Route 7. The single rocky desert of Isson, it connects to the Desert Mines, the Old Tombs and to the Mythic Oasis.
‘I’m fine with relocating to Connie’s Interdimensional Home. Since the one who I know is capable of breaking into it is invited, anyway,’ Mariette said, referring to Sonia. Though, the whole thing about “the one who opens a gate first” was silly, the only one who could open the way to Connie’s home from here was Connie. So with that in mind, Mariette turned and nodded to Connie. I’ll refrain from writing Mariette’s reaction to the place until she’s described it.
Meanwhile, there was MDP announcing that there was a person named Nykannis that could help them. Hearing that name, Ronin froze up a bit, while Miko continues.
‘How could she help us? Would she help us?’ Miko asked.
‘Wait, hold on. I know who that is.’ Ronin said, eyebrows raised at MDP. ‘She’s a self-proclaimed “queen of mad scientists” who once tried to turn me and Sakura into bloody paste with an army of killer robots because she wanted to run tests on a magic rock our friend had. Definitely not someone I would trust my back to, and I have a hard time imagining her helping us out in any capacity… But, er, how do you know her, MDP?’ Ronin asked, because it definitely didn’t sound like they were describing the same person.
Miko’s eyes widened a bit in realization, because Ronin definitely told Miko about that specific event in the past.
Later, when they arrived there was some more talk and Penny sent them a treasure trove of information. Mariette frowned as she gazed upon it, and then spoke.
‘If you’d like to do a precise strike, I can help. I’ve been in Wonderland before, I know the places on this map and can break the boundaries between worlds. If we’re going to strike at the various egg-locations, I can bring us there as well. Or if we want me to somehow try to negotiate with the Queen, serve as a distraction… I can do that, too. I am her daughter, according to her, after all.’ May as well try to use that to our advantage.
‘I prefer offense to defense. We could strike before they’re ready. But, before we talk about evacuation…’ Now Mariette probably breaks Pentius-04’s heart by turning to MDP. ‘You said this “Nykannis” could help secure the safety of the townspeople if it ends up being an attack. Can you confirm this and go ask this individual of this immediately? Will they require anything in turn?’ she really just wanted to put that part behind her as soon as possible.
‘Anyway. Let’s attack them first, strike their weak points and cripple their forces instead of fighting them on their terms. That’s what I say,’ Mariette said, no-nonsense.
‘I’ll see you when you come to pick up that challenge again!’ Kristy called happily, Sylvia gave him a nod, and then the two Gym Leaders were off to discuss things.
Since he stayed close, he found a bunch of the usual around here. Since he stayed close to town, the deep-sand and the far-plains Pokémon stayed away, but he did find some Pokémon around the trees. Unsurprising, perhaps, were the ground-type Pokémon, but there was also a surprising number of bugs. Oh, and a bunch of rabbits. Or hares. One of them.
Pokédex Entry #529 – Drilbur, the Mole Pokémon. They and Excadrills dig out mazelike nests underground in which they live. Drilbur is known for being able to travel very fast through soil, able to reach 30 mph by putting its claws together and spinning rapidly, drilling through earth. They’re known to be rather friendly around people.
Pokédex Entry #290 – Nincada, the Trainee Pokémon. It is usually found underground, using its antennae to sense its surroundings. It gains nourishment my tapping into the roots of trees with its claws as it await evolution. Nincadas are nearly blind, and avoid sunlight due to inability to withstand it.
Pokédex Entry #664 – Scatterbug, the Scatterdust Pokémon. Using a dust which covers its body and regulates its body-temperature, it can live in any region or climate. If attacked, it can release a poisonous black powder which paralyzes upon contact.
Pokédex Entry #27 – Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokémon. It lives in arid regions burrowing deep underground. It emerges only to hunt for food, which it catches by lounging out of their burrows. If threatened, it curls into a protective ball and bounces off from enemy attacks. If it gets cold at night, its body will coat itself with a fine dew.
Pokédex Entry #659 – Bunnelby, the Digging Pokémon. Its ears are solid and serve as shovels which it uses to dig large burrows in which it lives. It is mainly nocturnal, and will dig throughout the night. Over the years the ears become stronger, and it becomes able to sever thick roots easily.
Training against the ground- and bug-types was, unsurprisingly, not very problematic for Skylar’s bird-team. Minus maybe Sandshrew’s Rollout. However, he did find most of his team a little overleveled for the Pokémon he had to contend with. So much so that quite a few of his Pokémon weren’t able to gain any levels.
That said, there were some here that could get levels. Especially Forge, who while maybe they needed to go back to the Pokémon Center to heal after repeated Mud-Slaps from Bunnelbys and Drilburs, plus perhaps some paralyzation from the Scatterbug Stun Spores, managed to level up a respectable amount.
Pretzlcoatl grew to level 19! Forge grew to level 17! Forge learned Imprison! Bejeebs grew to level 19!

Raremine Town

Raremine Town is a moderately large, bright town on the edge of the only desert in Isson. By some twist, the largest mineral deposits in the land is located right under the desert, making it an attractive place to build mines. From that, Raremine Town naturally sprung into being as a merchant town on the edge of habitability from where the mineral could then be delivered to the rest of Isson. The temperature is hot, sun blazing down on this land where plains slowly become desert, the atmosphere dry and unfriendly… yet, life and trees blossoms among the buildings of Raremine Town.
The ground is still the grass from the Vast Plains, with buildings on top of them. The modern houses stand tall with plenty of architectural skill put into them, tools for building and living sold inside the houses. Everywhere, one can see workers walking about, but they’re happy workers, with their families living close at hand in the town and with the finest equipment available. Oh, and of course, plenty of Pokémon that assist with the finding of ores and such! The trees, which appear to have been planted and grown all over town by the residents themselves, gives plenty of homes for local Pokémon to live.
Overall, it’s busy, with people walking and talking all over, an active town indeed.

The workers of the Desert Mine live around here. They can give tips about the desert! 6.6. Research Lab. For archaeologists, those who want to talk to Dunstan and those who want to resurrect fossils. 6.7. Stone Store. Where all the stones of the Desert Mines or Frozen Cave eventually end up! Lots of evolutionary and other kinds of stones! 6.8. Bug Garden. A garden within which bugs thrive. Vivillons can be hired here for tracking down the Mythic Oasis! 6.9. Warehouses. Because the things they mine here needs somewhere to be stored. This includes Ancient Pokémon, apparently, as some of the warehouses are pens. 6.10. Team Amethyst Base. Claire had been there once, she could find it again. 7. Familiar Faces: Vivia, Dawkin, Claire, Cathia, Florrie. Vivia’s still around, I don’t entirely remember when the two of you split up, but yeah. Besides that, there’s also Claire and Dawkin, both of them exiting town towards Stalford’s Ferry. There’s also Cathia, who is going to come out of the same lab somewhat slower. Somewhere in town is also Florrie, if you want to run into her. 8: Raremine Town Trades: Ground-type 8.1. ‘Hey, do you have a Burmy? Would you like to trade it for my Mudbray?’ 8.2. ‘Hi, I really like snakes, so I got two of these Silicobras. I could trade you one for an Ekans!’ 8.3. ‘This is a Toedscool. I thought it looked funny, so I bought it, but… I’d much rather have an Abra.’

The rest stood and watched as Erika took her price. From Joshua’s bright smile, Ewan’s gentle gaze, Julian’s defeated expression, Ellyn’s little pleased look and Elana’s satisfied exhaustion to Maple still not satisfied that the giant metal machine wasn’t a puddle of hot metal yet so she was still raining fire-attacks on it. Machamp smirked happily as Erika got what she wanted, and before her eyes the Dawn Stone touched Sno’s head.
Light shone out, and the stone evaporated. Sno grew in size, gained the ability to float and became significantly more feminine.
Sno evolved into Froslass!
Pokédex Entry #478 – Froslass, the Snow Land Pokémon. An old legend claims a woman lost on an icy mountain was reborn as a Froslass. It freezes foes and prey solid, and brings them home to its chilly den to display as decorations. Their favorite food is frozen souls, which it consumes much like a carnivore. Handsome men are especially likely to be targeted.

‘WOOOO! You did it!’ Joshua called, pulling off an impromptu victory spin and posing bent over with both hands pointing towards Erika.
‘Well done,’ Ewan simply nodded towards her. ‘And it was no problem. We benefited from the experience.’
‘Whew. Good to know I did my job,’ Elana commented with a light chuckle over there.
‘Congratulations. You deserve it,’ Ellyn said over there, smirking.
‘... I guess I’m done here. I’ll just… pick up my men and escape. I still have Kadabra with his Teleport…’ Julian said, wandering over to his small army of nerdy servants currently cowering with their fainted Psychic-types because they were surrounded by happy-looking burly Fighting-types.
Machamp was just standing looking proud.
‘Wow, all the Fighting-types came back! Cool! So, what’s going on here? Oh, wow! A Froslass! That’s cool,’ Maple came over all wide-eyed, and apparently hadn’t really been following what was going on.
‘Erika used a Dawn Stone to evolve her Snorunt into a Froslass,’ Ellyn gently explained.
‘Aaah. That is cool. Good job!’ Maple beamed happily.
Then Erika suggested eating… in Bigfjord City.
‘Oh, food! Yeah, I’m in!’ Maple called. Though, the others looked kinda…
‘In Bigfjord City? You got guts, I’ll give you that,’ Elana chuckled a little. ‘Nooooot sure that’s the best place,’ Joshua said. ‘I… don’t really want to go there,’ Ellyn mumbled. ‘That city’s going to eat you alive,’ Julian muttered audibly over there as he took out his Kadabra, preparing to Teleport. ‘Worldedge City is right next to it?’ Joshua followed up his previous statement with a suggestion, visibly trying to keep his smile up. ‘Bigfjord City is pretty famous as a place to avoid,’ Ewan told. ‘That said, I’m not opposed. Certainly safer than going alone.’
Now, as a citizen of Isson, Erika probably should have heard about the various stories of Bigfjord City, and the reputation it has due to gangs hanging around in there. Basically, there’s a reason why it is massively associated with the Dark-type.
That said, they totally could still go that way. What does Erika think?
Mt. Strength
The caverns of Mt. Strength opens up into multiple corridors, dark depths branching in multiple directions. However, those expecting a typical rocky cave will be surprised. Something is immediately evident as one treads into Mt. Strength and that is that someone once lived here, long-term, and had buildings constructed out of the stones of the cavern. Remnants of whoever lived here are clear as day, as one walks on cobblestone and stairs, see remnant unlit lanterns and banners, old rock buildings standing around in the depths of the mountain. Arcs of stone remain, and here and there bridges remain, although one can question if you should trust them. An abandoned settlement in the mountain, left behind for unknown reasons… except, is it truly abandoned? There are signs of recent if unskilled renovation. Who’s maintaining them?
Why, the Pokémon, of course. There are Pokémon hard at work maintaining, reconstructing and living inside these supposed ruins. At some point humans no longer needed the fortifications of the cave, went outside, and the Pokémon took it over. They live here, creating their own society of strong Fighting-types with their own hierarchy with the strongest at the top, you’ve wandered into a whole different world, here, a world of brawling fighters, of dojos and rock-breaking competitions, of king-of-the-hill matches, thrones held my mountains of muscle, of Pokémon reconstructing the old buildings here before they inevitably are torn down again in another destructive scuttle. Here the Fighting-Pokémon are king, and humans are the guests. Will you earn their respect, or face their might?
By and large, the caverns of Mt. Strength could be divided into four floors.
B1 - Lowest floor. It’s just a vast array of tunnels, but a single, massive room stands out. It’s marked “Mountain Castle”. Otherwise, it’s just a bunch of tunnels looping back into one another in frankly impossible-looking ways. Hm, actually, doesn’t the map look edited here?
1F - The first floor. It has this massive chamber in the middle where the Pokemon town ahead of the entrance is located. Elsewhere arrays of tunnels go in varying directions but not leading anywhere in specific. The two possible exits to Route 4 and to Route 12 are marked, on both sides, as are places to go higher… or lower.
2F - The floor above. Several large chambers are interlinked, and even goes outside the mountain here and there for outside mountainous paths. There’s a lot of marked rooms here. The Dojo. The Throne Room. The Mountainside Arena. The Rock-Breaker’s Room. Bridge of Challenge. Town of Champions… And more.
3F - The top floor is significantly smaller than the other floors, but also features what appears to be a very, very long climb. Along the way is an exit to the Magnetic Platform, and far, far above those… is a split path, one leading west, and the other east. There, clearly marked, is the West Pillars, and East Pillars.
1. Find Pokémon. Can be specified what kind of Pokémon is being searched for, and how you search. 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Move. The act of putting one foot in front of the other repeatedly to generate movement. 3.1. Back. Go back to Route 4. 3.2. Forward. Focus on getting to the other side of Mt. Strength. 3.3. Up. Brave the greater heights of Mt. Strength. 3.4. Down. What might dwell in the depths of this mountain? 3.5. Roam. Who cares where you end up? Pick a cave and go with the flow! 5. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 6. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 7. Search. The abandoned settlements seem looted already, but maybe something lies around? 8. Challenge! Find a suitable fighting-circle and prove yourself superior! Tougher the higher you are in the mountain!
‘Hmpf, fine, turn down free money,’ the noble muttered to Claire’s reply. Still, he turned to Dawkin, to see if he was more receptive. ‘How about you? Get me a Galarian Corsola, I get you 10,000P. It’s way more than the 2,000 you’d have to pay for it,’ he tried again.
Eugene didn’t notice Claire. He was too busy happily staring at Corviknight. One of the Skarmories did, however, notice her. It stepped a little uneasily.
‘Oh, wait, Kalmia?’ Zachery raised his eyebrows when the professor’s name was dropped, and walked over and picked up a notebook. He looked it through briefly, to a page with a couple photos that he’d apparently been sent. ‘Oh, yeah! You’re one of Kalmia’s trainers! Got it, then one free donation, coming right up!’ Zachery chuckled, before coming over again and listening to Claire’s request.
‘Stylish and speedy… but tricky and cute?’ Zachery’s one-eyed gaze steeled itself, as he gained a level of seriousness. Then, he smirked. ‘I know just the one.’
‘ELMA! MILA!’ Zachery turned and shouted to his two companions who were walking in and out of the ship to get Pokémon. ‘WE’RE HUNTING THE GREEN ONE!’
‘Ah, geesh,’ the more serious-one said, looking bothered. ‘At least we only need to do it one more time.’ ‘Aw, I kinda liked having her around,’ the more playful-looking one said. ‘Oh, well. At least she should get a fun adventure!’
The three of them ran off into the ship. For a bit, there was no noise other than them running around below deck… until…
‘THERE SHE IS!’ there was suddenly a shout under deck, and then chaos ensued. There were noise of people throwing themselves and their Pokémon left and right, numerous cries of sudden pain, and a couple shouts of ‘SHE’S GOING THAT WAY!’
This went under several minutes, until finally Zachery was heard.
‘RIGHT, THAT’S IT’ … Quickly followed by the enormous roar of what definitely sounded like a dragon of some sort and then a quick smash.
A couple seconds later the three of them came out again. The serious girl looked bothered, the more playful one looked like she was in a giggling fit. Both of them looked a bit exhausted and had a couple of scratch-marks here and there. In the lead Zachery stepped forward towards Claire, his expression content, his clothes had tears from tiny claws here and there.
‘How about this one?’ he asked, and lifted up a living creature with his non-hook hand. In his hand he was holding a green cat around its torso, which stared with the most innocent expression imaginable towards Claire, despite the havoc it just caused.
Pokédex Entry #906 – Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon. Its fur’s composition is similar to that of plants, allowing it to absorb sunlight for energy. With every step, it releases a sweet scent that mesmerizes those around it, and this scent is even stronger in the sun. It frequently washes its face to keep itself from drying out.

Stalford’s Ferry
Route 16 is one of the most dangerous routes on Isson, but there’s a way around. There’s the ship, Stalford’s Ferry, that looks nothing like a regular ship. While normal ships often find themselves in danger trying to sail Route 16, Stalford’s Ferry is a fortress of a ship and has proven time and time again to be a reliable way to cross to the Northern Landmass and Witchpeak City.
The mighty vessel can also keep you occupied as you’re sailing. You can attempt to fish out the open windows, you can find other trainers and keep yourself occupied while the vessel cruises to its destination, or perhaps simply attempt to enjoy the scenery… not that there’s much to see.
However, occasionally the ship does come under attack, and for that reason trainers are expected to be able to defend themselves, which is also why you’re required to have collected Kristy’s Gym Badge in Raremine Town to prove that you’re capable of doing just that.
One way trip is 500P.

Pokédex Entry #701 – Hawlucha, the Wrestling Pokémon. Although its body is small, its proficient fighting skills enable it to keep up with big bruisers like Machamp and Hariyama. With its wings, it controls its position in the air. It likes to attack from above, a maneuver that is difficult to defend against.
Pokédex Entry #554 – Darumaka, the Zen Charm Pokémon. When its internal fire burns, it cannot calm down and has to run around. When the fire diminishes, it falls asleep and pulls its limbs into its body to form a state where it will always right itself no matter how it is pushed or pulled. Because the droppings of a Darumaka never cools down, they can be used to heat clothes by those who doesn’t consider that disgusting.
Pokédex Entry #4 – Charmander, the Lizard Pokémon. A fire burns at the end of its tail from its birth, and the strength of the fire indicates its health and current emotional state. This fire cannot be put out, as it burns by fuel from within. It prefers living in very warm conditions. Caution is advised near newly born Charmanders, as they’re not careful with their fire yet.
Pokédex Entry #371 – Bagon, the Rock Head Pokémon. It constantly dreams of being able to fly and hurls itself off cliffs to practice. Its head and body is extremely tough, allowing it to survive this. It’s a big bundle of muscles, and its headbutts can shatter rocks. It’s known to headbutt mercilessly to relieve stress.

‘Well, I think it’ll be a while before you’re ready to challenge me, Major League Gym Leader and all, but maybe try your luck in Stillwood Village? Maybe Highhill Town? Raremine Town? Redcoast City? Freecape Town? Haha, that should be all the Minor League Gyms of the Southern Landmass,’ Lesley chuckled a bit. ‘Anyway, I actually do have other things I need to worry about. This has been fun, but unless you got any further questions for me, I should be off!’ Lesley said, and did wait a bit to see if they did have anything else to say to her.
With that done, they would be ready to move again.
Lakewatch Town
As one looks upon Lakewatch, it is clear it was once built by the side of the water. Yet, over time, Dragon Lake has actually increased in volume, the water-level rising and swallowing the town. Then the natural conclusion would be to move the town back, follow the water-level, and rebuild at the new shore, right? That, does not appear to have been the thought that went through the minds of the designers of this Town, which is essentially placed out in the water on top of older buildings, the streets of the town flooded in water and to get around one has to make use of their many canoes or get on the back of a Pokémon.
The town of Lakewatch rises fairly high for its size, and vegetation grows pretty freely around the buildings. Most buildings and streets have white floating cobblestone to walk on either side of the streets, with a river of water flowing in the middle. People here are highly accustomed to this, and the streets are constantly bustling with people heading back and forth, as well as people actually gliding down from the higher buildings from the roofs above using strange little paragliders. It appears people live in the higher floors, while business takes place on ground/water-level. There are canoes basically everywhere that anyone’s free to borrow, townspeople commonly jumping down on a canoe, using the force of the jump to drift it to the other side and then simply jump off.
Now, anyone could hear from the name that Lakewatch Town is the town that basically rules the Dragon Lake. The Lakewatchers are a group of people that regularly patrol the waters, and become friends with the dragons that live there. Tours by the Lakewatchers are the primary tourist attraction of the place, along with the fish that is procured from the same lake, and guides are trained to show the way in any surrounding areas. Their boats are also those who trade with the western side through Highhill, keeping the place alive and busy. Plus, there’s always the rumors of treasure or otherwise hiding deep in Flooded Lakewatch, and Descent Tower looms in the middle of town for those hoping to explore… but who really knows? It’s a nice and different place, definitely.

Come prepared for the underwater. 6.9. Back Alleys. … What? Lakewatch has a darker section? What are you talking about? 7: Lakewatch Town Trades: Dragon-type 7.1. ‘I got Drampa because he looked goofy, but he’s just too large. I’d trade him for a Musharna.' 7.2. ‘I got Duraludon as bait for trainers. What I truly want… is a Smeargle! Connected areas: Wet Caverns. Water-filled caverns that are located to the east. There’s a small hill to climb to get to the entrance. Route 5. The main exit of Lakewatch, leading to a grassy incline connecting mountains, forests and plains. Route 14. The waters of Dragon Lake are also known as Route 14. It connects Lakewatch Town, Highhill Town and Stillwood Village.
Kristy brightened up substantially as Skylar accepted their help.
‘Great! You saved my bacon from being arrested by my best friend, so I’m more than happy to help!’ the gym-leader was quite eager. Then, for that last question… ‘Don’t you worry about that! Let me just make a few calls…’ Kristy said, retrieving a phone and starting to talk.
‘… Hm. I’ll be right back,’ Sylvia said before suddenly darting off, leaving Kristy a little stunned but she was on the phone so she wasn’t able to question it too much. Sylvia’s Seviper slithered after her. The snake was pretty fast.
‘No, I don’t need another doll, not right now, anyway, I want a white cane, roughly… how long?’ Kristy asked, looking to Skylar. Assumingly he could answer, so Kristy turned back and said it. Eventually she got some reply and brightened up. ‘Excellent. We’ll come pick it up right away!’
With that, Kristy was quick to end the call, say ‘This way!’ and lead Skylar along the town, assumingly helped along by his Pokémon. Kristy escorted him to a warehouse, where after discussing something with a couple dudes, they’d retrieved something from their storages somewhere and Kristy eventually came back to him.
‘How about this one?’ Kristy offered him a cane. For the sake of convenience, let’s say it’s perfect.
Then Sylvia came walking, Seviper still sliding along behind her. She offered something to Skylar. ‘Here you go. Glasses your size,’ Sylvia said, offering a couple.
‘Hehehe, of course the cool girl knows where to get cool glasses. Nicely done Sylvia!’ Kristy chuckled.
‘I, um, need them for disguises, sometimes,’ replies the slightly embarrassed Sylvia.
Anyways, that was that. What would Skylar do now?
Raremine Town
no cat-eared girls here, sorry
Raremine Town is a moderately large, bright town on the edge of the only desert in Isson. By some twist, the largest mineral deposits in the land is located right under the desert, making it an attractive place to build mines. From that, Raremine Town naturally sprung into being as a merchant town on the edge of habitability from where the mineral could then be delivered to the rest of Isson. The temperature is hot, sun blazing down on this land where plains slowly become desert, the atmosphere dry and unfriendly… yet, life and trees blossoms among the buildings of Raremine Town.
The ground is still the grass from the Vast Plains, with buildings on top of them. The modern houses stand tall with plenty of architectural skill put into them, tools for building and living sold inside the houses. Everywhere, one can see workers walking about, but they’re happy workers, with their families living close at hand in the town and with the finest equipment available. Oh, and of course, plenty of Pokémon that assist with the finding of ores and such! The trees, which appear to have been planted and grown all over town by the residents themselves, gives plenty of homes for local Pokémon to live.
Overall, it’s busy, with people walking and talking all over, an active town indeed.
1. Find Pokémon. Can still search for Pokémon in cities~ 2. Talk. In cities, there are considerably more people one can talk to. Talking can give you info on local rumors and such. 3. Exit. Exit the town to any of the connected areas. 4. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 5. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 6. Notable Places. Visit any of the places in the city! 6.1. Pokémon Center. Heal all your Pokémon. 6.2. PokéMart. Go to a store and buy things. 6.3. Pokémon Gym. Minor League Gym. 6.4. Freecape Ferrymen Office. Fly you to any settlement you’ve already been for 500P! 6.5. Desert Miner’s Hangout. The workers of the Desert Mine live around here. They can give tips about the desert! 6.6. Research Lab. For archaeologists, those who want to talk to Dunstan and those who want to resurrect fossils. 6.7. Stone Store. Where all the stones of the Desert Mines or Frozen Cave eventually end up! Lots of evolutionary and other kinds of stones! 6.8. Bug Garden. A garden within which bugs thrive. Vivillons can be hired here for tracking down the Mythic Oasis! 6.9. Warehouses. Because the things they mine here needs somewhere to be stored. This includes Ancient Pokémon, apparently, as some of the warehouses are pens. 6.10. Team Amethyst Base. Claire had been there once, she could find it again. 7. Familiar Faces: Vivia, Dawkin, Claire, Cathia, Florrie. Vivia’s still around, I don’t entirely remember when the two of you split up, but yeah. Besides that, there’s also Claire and Dawkin, both of them exiting town to head for Route 6 and then to Route 16. There’s also Cathia, who is going to come out of the same lab somewhat slower. Somewhere in town is also Florrie, if you want to run into her. 8: Raremine Town Trades: Ground-type 8.1. ‘Hey, do you have a Burmy? Would you like to trade it for my Mudbray?’ 8.2. ‘Hi, I really like snakes, so I got two of these Silicobras. I could trade you one for an Ekans!’ 8.3. ‘This is a Toedscool. I thought it looked funny, so I bought it, but… I’d much rather have an Abra.’
Connected areas: Route 6. The Vast Plains open up to the north of Raremine. The shorter paths lead to Route 8 and 16, while west far enough leads to Lakewatch Town. Route 7. The single rocky desert of Isson, it connects to the Desert Mines, the Old Tombs and to the Mythic Oasis.
Lesley looked from kid to kid as they weren’t exactly talking to her all the time, but Eryn sure was, and she smiled at Eryn’s reaction.
‘What, you know the guy? Heh, small world, I guess,’ Lesley said with a little chuckle. And then about not minding being interrogated. ‘Good, you’re an understanding one. Good girl,’ she nodded with satisfaction at them.
Then there was Basil taking a call. Kalmia on the other side spoke her part, and when Basil replied…
‘I’m so happy you’ll help! I was a bit worried about sending just Amelia. If you ever have a favor or so to ask me, I’ll definitely see if I can do something in turn… Wait, she’s there?’ Kalmia looked a bit stunned. ‘Oh, hi, Amelia! I wanted to give some backup, in case you’d want it! And hi, Eryn!’ That was probably enough, before Basil turned the dex back. ‘Tell me how it goes! I’ll see you later!’ Kalmia reported before the call ended.
Lesley stood there looking amused until Basil made his request…
@Gardevoiran I did have a little scene I wanted to write. I have now written it. Now you can do what you like. And I can now also add Sylvia to the character list, hahahaha.
@Pirouette I do think that battle was already cleared. Anyway, yeah. Remember that we're using ORAS learnsets in the future. No worries about that, otherwise. I feel this scene has been cleared. So. There you go.
@hatakekuro@Joshua Tamashii I did detect some awkwardness in trying to make these awkward individuals interact. So I thought I'd throw some insentive into the mix. Of course, if either of you don't want to, then there's absolutely no need for Basil to help Amelia out. But I thought it could make the scene more amusing, hehehe. Oh, and @Typical is there, too, of course.
@Eklispe@Rune_Alchemist There you go. I've moved you to Stalford's Ferry. There's a couple scenes here, just because. You'll need to point out to Zachery that you're one of Kalmia's trainers to get your free Pokémon. And that's about that.
