should we do a vote to see who is accepted as well? there a lot of apps at the moment...

I second that motion.
Is there anyone who has ever been a GM before that knows what they're doing and would be willing to nominate themselves to temporarily step in for our absent GM?
Okay, cool. That makes sense.
Does that include people that give warnings before they go on trips or finals week and stuff like that? How does that work? Does everyone just wait? Does the GM just control the character only when necessary for the time being? Does the character get killed? Do they wander off and meet back up? Is it just up to the GM to decide?

most of half of those who've posted characters won't post or will post at best only twice

So wouldn't the GM just kill them off after they don't post anything for a while and don't have an excuse for being away. Or instead we could have their characters venture off and if they ever come back just say like "Oh, hey! What are the odds that we would run into each other again!" and just have them go from there? I don't know, just trying to think of possible solutions.

And yes, good point RumikoOhara, Ryan does not beat the entire group thanks to Karen, sorry.

Also, good point Anvil. Glen is a great example. However I don't think having 3 kids in a group of 15 is too much of a problem as long as they don't act like Carl. Plus, kids can crawl into smaller spaces that the other characters can't and as far as dealing with other survivors, having kids with us would make us at least seem more innocent. They're not completely useless, its just that there's definitely potential to be useless.

If you say so... I think we should cut down on the child and teen characters though XD we are gunna have a tonne of Lizzy's and carls at this rate. I'm a real situation, kids would never be given any power in the group what so ever XD

Hey, an athletic Eagle Scout with all sorts of wilderness survival supplies, and that is an expert on surviving in the wilderness who also has his own three melee weapons that he knows how to use would be able to hold his own and have some sort of power, even if he is a teenager. Especially when he definitely has more supplies than every one else in the group combined, and probably has more experience in the outdoors too. Just saying.

So, I've already started on my character and I still am looking for three people to discus a certain idea for the story with.

I'm willing to discus this "certain idea for the story"

Well if people are playing children, and playing them properly, surely that just means all the adult characters are gunna take charge? I just feel like if the colony is splitting up, the young ones would be forced to stay behind where its safer? I don't mind it, but my character just won't let kids risk their lives for stupid reasons.

If the kids stay behind and all of the adults go to Canada, the kids will all be toast before the adults even get to Canada. And aren't we going to Canada because of the possibility that it could be safer than the farm.

(Plus I can't stand Carl in the TV show.)

No one can. Carl is the worst (Except maybe Lori)
Hey, with the influx of children, I am changing Ryan Matthews to be a teenager, since we seem to have a severe lack of them.
