And idea (now I’m pretty much done here)

(Had this in my docs for a one piece site and I never used it. Showed it to them and let liked it but I never had the energy to finish it, cause I was doing my own site. )

Location: some fucking island

Host
Sudoku, The Gēmu Gēmu No Mi user- This fruit is the Game Game fruit allowing the user to turn things into a game within a sphere. Setting rules and effects, even a way to beat the game...you get the jist.

Overview
Sudoku has captured 12 individuals and put them on Sudoku Island. These 12 warriors have been split into groups of three and are now forced to play his game. A tournament that's all about survival, with the island being the battlefield. This island has a town and what not , all created by Sudoku and the civilians are all robots. The Objective of the game is to be the last team standing... by any means necessary. Although this is not your average tournament, Sudoku has a fascination with games, so there is a twist. Each participant has a role to play that benefits the team:

Roles ( not in depth because ya know it’s just a quick jist)
Warrior Class: Through the power of The Gemu Gemu No Mi, this person has been blessed with a buff that adds higher offensive capabilities.

Healer Class: Through the power of The Gemu Gemu No Mi, this person has been blessed with the ability to heal. As long as this person is alive his/her groups will automatically heal at the end of each battle, this person can remove status effects (debuff/and shit ). Additionally, while in battle the healer can become a combat medic, healing his own injuries one at a time.

Sacrificial Pawn: Through the power of The Gemu Gemu No Mi, this person has been blessed with the power of Sacrifice. If anyone in the party dies, he/she may sacrifice himself to bring them back from the dead.

(Will add more roles just wanna see if y’all down for something like this. )

Blessings
Each group will also be giving a blessing decided by dice roll, these blessings can be a item or a power who knows.

I figured you guys are bound to fail, 3-4 days of crying and arguing with no progress, really y’all, as someone who just got here I can see why ya arena dead. Y’all can’t get along for 5 seconds. Y’all dont wanna try any but give ideas and cry. As a unit y’all are dysfunctional, and are a representation of not just the area but the site. Y’all should fixed the cracks in ya community first, ya mods too. Cause they lazy and petty, doing this is not hard. I enjoyed trading words with y’all, y’all seem like good people, but just lack the maturity to put shit to the side and be like “alright bro it is what it is, let’s make a to do list and get shit done. We can argue later.” I’ve never seen this shit, it’s crazy. To the point where mods delete ppl post in a attempt to stop shit but makes things worst. That’s a fail bro, come on. Is y’all gone do something or shut up? Cause I’m disappointed that y’all have all this input and won’t act. That’s like that kid who talks shit online, but when you see him he don’t got the same energy. I ain’t shit, but I really let my actions talk and I get shit done for my community when I was in the position to. Y’all really shouldn’t even be having this conversation if y’all cared about the arena. Y’all might as well delete the shit cause y’all can’t work together. And if y’all did it would be a select few with the “it should be fun and inviting” when you need the competitive others to back y’all so it can be “Fun, inviting and still story driven.”

Think I’ll just sit back at this point, cause I may be contributing to y’all ignorance at this point, y’all got some good ideas just use em, again it’s easy. Get a team together get it done.

@BangoSkank

Think like 2-3 years ago Deme, Davy (who is not here) and I made a Boku No Hero Academia site. Still to this day it is booming, but ya know new leadership hates us and we hate them. But in the time we created that site we learned pretty much the in and out of Themed RP. Sorry to disappoint though, it was stat based that made my system work so well. And it was a naturally competitive scene. Everyone wanted to be number one, we made a site that appealed not just to the lovers of the anime but competitive rp. To avoid people getting pissed a PvP and to make rp feel more rewarding. Characters were given fame, in game currency, exp to distribute etc. These things would not work here. But one thing I believe will work here are “Missions” Indie created most of the rp elements while I did systems.

Basically Missions were threads you would have to sign up for and had a summary of what was gonna occurs in the story. The person who posted the mission would narrate it and have other participate. At the end they were given gains and other nice things.

How I Imagine it here I would see it in a very similar light:

Conquest, a possible name.

A Dying Night: Conquest.
Participant Max: 4 (2v2 scenario)
Combat type: Mid tier abilities
Summary: “Nagasaki, Shugo” the next and 18th head of the Nagasaki clan is in danger. His family at war with the Shogunates fources are on it’s last leg. His father “Nagasaki, Hito” is in desperate need of help has reached out to find guards for his young son. He knows the war is lost and wants his son to be moved away from the carnage until it is over. Hito belives the government is unaware of the child’s existence, Hito has already found a willing clan to take his son in. Although nothing ever seems to escapes the Shoguns eyes.

Shogunate Generals/hired help

Nagasaki’s Hired Guards

Judge: Chibi

Winning:
(Could be a item or some shit)
Losers
(Nothing or an item or some shit)

Additionally: this can be a ranked match or naw. Host (chibi) controls npcs in story. Example I would play the role of Hito and Shugo. Naturally I would make the opening post to set the scenario and from there y’all do what ya want and I post when necessary like if major events happen idk fucking weather change all of a sudden idk.

@Inkarnate

Again I agree, story driven TP often creates a connection between the two because they have to work together to create a coherent and enjoyable storyline. They should complement eachother, bouncing off and carrying that energy in to the climax that is the fight and it outcome. All the suspense finally coming down to create a vibrant story and a damn good fight. Yet in PvP arguments are unavoidable this is fact, even if subtle there is always question but story does lower that. But aye think about what I said y’all got all the answers, just do it and enjoy the outcome.
@Inkarnate

ultimately community-determined! Exactly, and from this the community has determined this place is trash tier. I mean that’s okay to leave it in its current form, but it will just die. Y’all literally complaining about this so obviously the current structure is flawed and allows for people to become disinterested. I read dude post, but I had no comment on it. It was nice to read and made a valid point about forcing rules. And I get it, the site is not hands on, but the Arena should be treated differently in a sense that the community agrees on things. Y’all agree it needs a theme or to be story driven, y’all agree the ranks should be revamped and etc. So as a community y’all should make regulations and decide if y’all want to consider it the “go to” for the arena. Of course you don’t have to follow it since y’all really about this free form shit, so those who don’t follow idk Arena 3.0 are just idk odd. I feel like y’all want to fix Arena but don’t wanna do the work. Everyone has give great ideas to push this place and why not work on those? Make some shit display it to the community, vote on it, debate it, change it redo. You can’t please everyone but there needs to be a common route here that the majority follow because the community decided on it.
@Inkarnate

Exactly none of us are perfect and arena and really every site is gonna have a weak point, but literally check this out all you have to do is EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE SAYING AND REGULATE THE ARENA. Lol I’m telling you it’s way easier than it sounds. @BrokenPromise is right, this shit gone be niche, but people will enjoy it. It needs to be regulated so those crying about “no it does not need rules let people do what they want” are just not from this scene of competition. If you don’t regulate this place people will doc crazy busted shit and than you get arguments and than you get drama than bad rep. Rules prevent that and moderation should embody that. No rip on Rilla, Guy has a life but Oof bro there is so much more you could have done. It should not require someone one to message you to get ya attention.

Having Actually characters would be nice, I understand this is free form role play, but sheesh having a place to put arena based character would be nice. A template to follow and regulations. Having a rules of tired matches again would be nice may it be just hand to hand, mid tier to high tier ability. Storytelling can be done through combat. I’ve had threads that have lasted several pages, because there was a story intertwined and we fought 3 different times in that same story.

Y’all on the right track y’all just need someone y’all trust or can tolerate with crafting this all up, a group if not. I’m telling you it can be done, I’ve seen it and done it. Let’s not point blame really and try getting it done. Cause I kinda wanna rp in arena but god damn ppl are soft and just depressing.
Considering I’m not a regular my opinion is ehh. Dias again is right, so is Deme. The area is a competitive scene, it should live and die by that. Rules/Guides don’t hurt, even if they are ever changing. Story elements can still can be in a competitive scene, I mean they always should be. Everyone here seems to have been doing rp longer than me, although my decade in the game has helped me and friends craft one of the best themed based anime rps out there right now. It’s structured and has rules, many of the fundamentals that Dias mentioned.

Feel like y’all making this harder than it needs to be, literally just need a hard reset on your arena, give It tiered rules, rebalance the rankings system, allow for story filled events and easy. It’s really not that hard, idk if this is a foreign concept to y’all or what. Cause reading through all this again...I question what the fuck y’all even debating on. The arena sucks and everyone is to blame cause you only wanted to fix it bow that it’s on it’s last leg. So everyone is exploding now when this place really could have been stable from the jump. I’m pretty sure if y’all work together to establish rules and structure, along with other shit y’all could literally have this done. Crazy how so many are willing to complain about it here and I have yet to see them post in the area in months. Being apart of the arena when it was booming with activity means nothing to me, but sticking through the shit it’s in now is a respectful grind. Doc Doctor may be the guy y’all want just because he is active.

Dias has literally given the best proposal
@Rilla
Rilla, being lazy and being proud about it is a good representation of what the arena is lacking, proper leadership. Trust me I’m not bashing you for it, shit you may have just lost interest. I’m unsure if the battle ground has multiple moderators or maybe souls who act like they have the big stick. If whatever is cool with you...why not just step down since you don’t really care. Shit that’s what I would do. See if the ppl talking can do a better job than you, if they can’t than laugh. Tbh your point system just needs to be reset, it can be the same system, just someone needs to actually keep up with it.

Arena Events would be nice too. One where it requires you to have x amount of wins to participate. Just small home brews could really bring this place back. Inkarnate made a solid point about it needing more story elements. Maybe a theme? The whole goal of the arena should be the number one fighter, maybe the area is a thing that spans across the multiverse forcing warriors of legend and time to meet through unconventional means all for a greater purpose. Little shit goes along way tbh.

And maybe you stepping down is not the wrote word, but adding someone to the team who helps direct may be useful. Removing you may be a issue since you “keep the place clean”. You apparently prevent ignorance, so I can assume you have good judgment, which is useful to making this place better.
