Helios was bright that night, the city shining like stars with the street lights and people moving in a rush in cars and by foot in the city below wear a masked woman was sitting on a roof top. She sighed, then hit the ear com on the side of her mask. "Tony, why are we here? there are plenty of heroes in Helios to keep people safe...we should be going after Z" The voice on the other end was Tony McCune, who was sitting at a desk in a huge studio in front of a wall of screens and computers. "My dear Wolf, you think we would pick up and leave for no reason? Z vanished a year ago after...our last encounter right? well, I found him here. His here taking care of his boss who is trying to do some big deal with the big shot in town. But you need to get back here and change. You have that charity dinner your singing for tonight, remember?" Wolf sighed and stood up. "Fine...be back in a minute..." Then she stepped back into the shadows and vanished.

Two hours later at the Mazerine Hotel, the biggest hotel in the city, the red carpet was rolled out for the big shots and stars there to raise money for the kids left homeless. A limo pulled up and a strikingly beautiful woman stepped out with a Irishmen right behind her. She had long dark hair and striking green eyes. She was curved in all the right place which her slim black and silver dress showed off just right. Tony took the woman's arm and led her inside, smiling and pointing her with his elbow. "Loosen up, Ave...at least act like your having..." Then he saw she was shaking. "Ave, did you over use it?" Avery Shade, or by her singer name Fox Silver, nodded slightly. "I think I did...don't worry, I will be fine. Let's get inside." He sighed and nodded, leading her into the ballroom and the pair headed to the stage to get set up for her numbers.

It was a beautiful day in Helios City. His city. Not anyone's else his. It was Hawk's city He looked over the city from the vantage of a rather large building. Ironically it was Cole Tower. Another one of of his. A voice picked up in his ear. "Sir you know you have to be at the event soon." Hawk sighed. It was Algernon his butler. He was sitting at a huge desk of computers at the Cole Mansion. Hawk looked up as he threw himself off the tower. He flew off back home. It was time to be Nate Cole playboy and all around fun guy. it was his event.

A balck limo pulled up to the red carpet. Another Matthew and Jennifer Cole Foundation event for the homeless children of Helios City. He had a soft spot in his heart for orphans and children. He had been one. The man who got out of the limo was not that orphan anymore. He was rather tall somewhere around 6 foot five inches tall. His hair was dark blond and his eyes deep blue. He looked like he worked out. Maybe a bit too much. He walked into the event and talked to a lot of the people there. he honestly was curious if this new singer was worth the hype. Time would tell.

Tony was set up at the sound table when the MC started the dinner and started off reading names and all the thank you. Tony tapped his ear wig and said "You ready back there, Fox?" Maggie was getting mic on and said "I'm ready. Let's get this over with" Tony said "How are you feeling?" Avery coughed and said "Not too good...but I'll live" Tony cursed as the MC said "and now for her first show in Helios, please give a warm welcome to Ms. Fox Silver!" The curtain went up and Fox Silver was standing on stage, looking amazing but to anyone who had sharp eyes could see she wasn't at her best. Fox picked up the mic and said "Thank you all for all the work you all have done for these kids...and lets get some more money for these kids...now, whose ready to bust the roof off of this place!" Tony hit the music and Fox started singing.

The rest of her set was full of life and color, but her voice seemed to hide a dark and angry side to her. And as the songs went on, the paler she got. But her performance didn't falter at all, so no one but those who were watching carefully could tell something was wrong

Nate sat as his table watching the woman go up. She beautiful but there was something about her. She seemed hurt. Or Ill. Odd. E would have to figure that out. He could see she was hurt. He looked at her. It was odd. But he planed on talking to her. The older people with did not seem to like the music. Like he cared. He loved the music. It had a dark tone to it. He found something appealing about this woman. He was going to look her up later. For now he chose to talk to her.

Once her music was done, he waited till she was done and off the stage. He walked up to her and smiled a rather charming smile. "Ms Shade? I have to say that was the most interesting event I've been to and I have to go to them all. Nate Cole" He said offering his hand. He was curious about this woman.

Fox stepped down, not seeing the man heading her way. She tapped her ear wig and said "Tony...can we leave?" Tony said "Not yet, you have to make a scene. We need you to get signed remember?" Then a hand was in front of her and she looked up and smiled. "Its a pleasure to meet the Son of Helios. I have heard many good things about you" She took his hand and shook it, smiling softly. Her hand was shaking and out of the corner of her eye she saw her shadow moving on its own. She moved her foot, stepping on her shadow. It stopped moving and went back to its place. "Oh, I'm Margaret Shade, or Fox Silver if you prefer stage names"

The Son of Helios. He hated that name. The press loved to call him that. When he ever did something wrong.Except this woman said without irony. He looked her over. "So Margaret. I have not seen you around here. What brings you to my city as everyone calls it. I have no idea why." He joked. He noticed something with her with her shadow but had no idea what but he was curious. He could tell annother freak like him. He watched her for th reaction.

She didn't lose her cool at all as she said "Needed a change of view...and I'm looking for something...hopefully I can find it here..." Tony walked up at that point and said "Boss, I hate to interrupted but we have to get around to the other big names in the city." Maggie smiled at Nate and said "I hope to see you soon, Mr. Cole..." She walked away with Tony, who put a arm around her to keep her from limping. He said "I can sneak us out the side door..." Wolf shook her head. "No...I have to stay and do my part..." Tony sighed and said "Alright, two hours then I get you out of here, got it?" She nodded and Tony left her side to talk to the big business guys while Margaret sat down and closed her eyes, getting her grips again

Nate was not usually treated like this. Heck most women threw themselves at him. Not this one oddly. That made her all the more interesting. He picked up his phone and called Algernon. "I need intel on someone. Margret Shade. I need as much as you can get." He said quickly. "I'll get as much as I can, sir." The butler said quickly. Nate hung up and grabbed a glass of champagne. He never drank but he brought it to Maggie. " Here. This should help. I'm curious Ms. Shade. Why the secrecy. You could make a name here. " He said sitting next to her.

Wolf looked at him, her eyes not showing any kind of emotion. She leaned against the table and said "I have my reasons, Mr. Cole...much like you do. You act like a playboy, but I see right thru that smokescreen. You have your own secrets...everyone does" She drank from the glass and said "Besides...I'm only here for the music thing for tony's sake...my reasons for being in Helios is...much different..."

"The name is Nate. Not Mr. Cole. How do you know I am not just a play boy? Everyone I talk to only sees that side. Yet you see through it. How? No one ever does. " He said honestly. It was refreshing to see someone would could see the real Nate Cole. Who was this girl?! "I hope your other reasons are legal. I heard that Hawk guy has a rather high record for keeping the streets clean." He said lying naturally. Nate and Hawk were two different people.

Wolf smiled and said "Sure its legal...it will do people a lot of good when I finally get it done..." She took another drink and said "Lets just say I have been reading people for a very long time...part of my old life" She looked at Nate and said "I wasn't always a pop star, Nate..." Tony walked over and rested a hand on her shoulder and said to her quietly "My alarm downtown just went off...might be nothing..." Maggie nodded and said "Tell them they are missing out on a great deal" Tony nodded and left the table. Maggie looked back at nate. "Sorry, trying to get signed is a nightmare"

Nate nodded as the manager left. He was not dumb. He doubted that it was about signing. He usually left the detective work to Algernon. As luck would have it his phone rang to the tune of Rule Britannia. It was Algernon calling on his private line. The Hawk line. "Sir, something is going on downtown. No reports and I have no idea what it is. Should I send Sparrow?" Algernon asked getting right down to brass tacks. "No tell him to wait. We can sell later." He said using code to say that they should wait. "Very good sir." Algernon said hanging up. Nate closed his phone. "Sorry about that. Running a corporation is a nightmare too." He said to her smiling sheepishly. "So we were talking about you. What did you do before this? Cause you have an amazing voice." He said still smiling. It was his trademark defense.

She smiled slightly and said "Well...lets just say it wasn't very nice...great work out though." She looked at him and said "I hate to say this, but I fear I must go help Tony get me signed...have a lovely evening..." She stood up and walked away, Tony moving to her side as soon as they were out of sight. "Boss, you can't go in the state your in" She shook her head and said "If its Z...I have to be there" Tony nodded and said "Meet back at the studio?" She nodded and he headed out the main doors as she headed to the back doors, but vanishing once she walked into shadows.

Nate watched her leave. He kept a few spare suits through out the city. However he had enough time to get the mansion. He had to get to the base. He took his car and sped off to the base. Once he got there he looked at Algernon. "Alright what we got?" He said as he pulled his suit on. "No idea, sir. It could be anything...." He was cut off by the rrival of a young boy. He looked to be about 9 years old. It was Alex aka Sparrow. Algernon had made Nate get a side kick and Alex fit tyhe bill. He had minor control over water. Nate had fashioned a jetpack to help him get around. "So Nate we going to get the guy! Right! You, me, bad guys! It will be great." Nate would never admit it but having the kid around did make his life a little better. "Fine... We'll take the cycles to get there." Nate said putting on his mask.

Wolf walked out of the shadows, looking around the area where Tony's alarm had gone off. It was a bank robbery. She cursed as Tony voice came thru her ear. "Sorry boss...but you are already there..." Wolf nodded and said "Fine, it will be good work out..." She vanished again and apeared inside the building, three men wearing masks drilling into the vault. She walked right up behind them and said "You boys really picked a bad night to rob a bank...I am not in a good mood..." They all turn towards her and the tallest guy said "Who the heck are you?" Wolf smiled and said "Me? I;m the Wolf...the shadow of the moon..." She threw her arms out and the shaodws around them came to life, attacking the men.

Hawk and Sparrow pulled up to the bank. There was someone in there. They both broke into the doors and opened up firing bolts of electricity to the goons. Course with the lady's powers and the their combined attack took the three goons out rather quickly. Oddly he did not trust the lady. "Sparrow check that they are captured." He ordered his sidekick. He looked at the lady. "Alright who the hell are you and what are you doing here? Don't try my patience. This city is mine." He threathened her. He figured he could fight her off.

Wolf turn to look at him, looking very different then Maggie. Wolf had bright silver eyes and was wearing a one piece suit, all black with a simple mask across her face. She leaned against the desk and said "names wolf. Didn't mean to crash your party. Thought this was something worth my time. Won't happen again" tony sighed in her ear and said "can you not tick off the superhero? Please? I know you feel like crap and you wanted this to be Z but it's not Hawks fault...." Wolf sighed, looking sick and tired.

Nate's suit was a blue and white one piece. It covered most of his body and his hair. He wore a mask that covered most of his head. Alex's suit was similar but red. He looked at her. "Odd. A new hero. Whatever. As long as you don't turn evil. Oh. I'm Hawk. That's Sparrow. Local heroes. As long as you fight crime we will get along. " He said curtly. "Be polite, sir." He was chided in his ear. "So. I see you can control shadows. Might be useful for the Millennium Group. If you are interested. " he said talking about the local hero group. Millennium Tower was a rather important part of the city. Since he was a founding member he had to try and recruit. He doubted she would want to join.

She was about to say no but tony said "wait boss. Other heroes might be helpful....I mean, they might know about Z and where he could be" wolf shut her mouth, thinking it over. She was a lone wolf, always had been. But a little more info was needed to get to Z...maybe this was her chance. She looked at hawk and said "I may be interested....I don't do the team thing but it wouldn't hurt to check it out"

Nate nodded at her. Who was she talking to? He could sense something electric on her and that it was transmitting a signal but that was all he could sense. Whatever not his problem. Betaman had been riding him to get more members which was not easy. Most heroes in the city were Primadonnas who wanted all the fame. Ironically Hawk and Sparrow were bar none the most popular and he did not even want it. "I figured you were more the lone wolf type. Takes one to know one they say. I think the team would be good for you. Come to the Millennium Tower tomorrow and tell them I sent you. I'll be waiting. Don't leave me waiting for too long. Come on Sparrow. MY advice slip out the back door. The press will eat you up. If you want to stay hidden I say hide." Nate advised turning on his heel. He and Sparrow walked out the front door where they were assulted by the press. Asking him about what was going on snapping pictures the whole nine yards. He quickly left on his bike leaving quickly.
