"I love you too Ellie nothing will change that." He smiled a bit, "but I don't think either you or me want to get up. You probably won't let go of me for a few hours or so till you fully calm down." He laughed a little, "after a year I still remember that really well." The smiled disappeared, for a moment as he remembered the pain he went through to get through that year.

Elliot threw her head back and whined, "But you smeeeeell."

She looked at him and laughed a little again. There were still tears in her eyes and her hands still shook but she was trying to make light of it. Trying to make it seem, make herself seem, better than it was. She took his hand in her's, before looking up at him, "We.... don't have to let go of each other to shower..."

She rested her head against his chest, he was right. She really didn't want to let go of him. She felt like if she did, she'd fall apart, like he was the last string holding her together.

Jacob sighed, "alright Ellie alright all you had to do was ask really there's nothing wrong in asking is there?" He slowly got up, picking her up in his arms and heading toward the bathroom that was connected to their room. He opened the door and kicked it closed with his foot.

Elliot gasped a little when Jacob picked her up again. She didn't know why she was so surprised. It was very Jacob-esque to so that. This was surely not the first time he had done it. She had imagined him carrying her before, when she was younger when he was not her boyfriend... or she supposed her fiancé... They were engaged to be engaged after all. She laughed a little and leaned into Jacob's chest. Being carried by him was better than any of her silly imaginings. He was warm and strong and there were so many things about being carried by him that her young mind could even take into account, like hearing his heart beat, smelling his musk. She looked up at him and smiled, "I'm sure I did. But this is more fun."

Jacob shook his head, he turned on the shower, and took off his shirt and jeans. He was stand there in front of Elliot only in his boxers. His hand still in hers, he looked at her curiously when he saw the look on her face as he was standing there in front of her his torso bare showing scars he had gotten over the years.

Elliot sat back as he undressed for the shower. She smiled again when he took her hand. She couldn't imagine how she became so lucky to end up standing there with him. Jacob was handsome, smart, brave, and just... the entire package and she didn't know how he came to love her. But she loved that he did. She noticed him looking at her quizzically and laughed, "Sorry. I was just... thinking."

She peeled off her shirt and jeans felt in her underwear. She looked at him and wrapped her arms around him, "I'm so very lucky to have you."

Jacob smiled, "and I'm lucky to have you too Ellie." He put his arms around her, and kissed her. He couldn't help himself she was his world. If he lost her again he would be crushed the man that he is now would be gone if he lost her to the robots during the war.

Elliot smiled again, she still felt horrible. She had barely gotten any sleep and her hands still had a tremor but with Jacob none of that really mattered. He didn't care about how bad she looked with red eyes and dark circles and if he did... Well, she'd give him a black eye. He always had a soothing nature to him, always there to comfort her. She kissed him again, "I can't wait till you propose," she giggled a little and removed the last of her clothing, stepping into the shower.

Jacob smiled, and followed suite. "I know you can't and I can't either, but I rather make sure we don't have any nasty suprises in this war before I do it and I want it to be a peaceful moment and somewhere else." He looked at her , while water was running down his bare skin.

Elliot sighed and ran her hand through her wet hair, "I know... I'm sure you are going to make it perfect."

She took his arms and wrapped them around her. A moment later, she spun in them, so that she back pressed again his chest. She smiled and ran her hands along his arms. She reached out and grabbed the shampoo bottle. Squirting the shampoo into her hand, she rose her hands to her head and started to rub it in. She closed her eyes as she did, happy to be there with Jacob. She laughed, "So... If you call me Ellie... Do I get to call you Jake?"

Jacob laughed at the question, "whatever makes you happy Ellie I don't care really if you call me jake, just don't be suprised I might not respond to it for a few days or so I might respond to it already." He watched her rinse her hair out, he bent down and kissed her neck, he couldn't help himself to that.

Elliot pouted, "Well, that's no fun," She teased. She started to run her hands through her hair when she felt Jacob's lips against her neck. She jumped a little, not having expect it but smiled. She tilted her head slightly, keeping most the suds off of the part of her neck as well as exposing it entirely to him. She lean back into him more. She kept her eyes closed and enjoyed the feeling of the water beating against them as he kissed her neck. She let the water rinse her hands as she ran to wash the shampoo out. She missed this.

Jacobs lips curled into a smile, but he didn't break contact with her neck. He had forgotten how many time him and Elliot took showers together. But once he had gotten in the shower, it all came rushing back to him, he would do this exact thing with her. He wouldn't let her go, no matter how many people had wanted him to.

Elliot stirred in Jacob's arms. She was mostly dry now, although, it was still noticeable that the bed was still wet. She smiled softly, remembering what had happened. She wondered what time it was. She hadn't had any nightmares, so she hoped she got a few hours of sleep in. She slipped out of Jacob's hold, as the slightly wet sheets started to bother her, and grabbed one of his t-shirts and pulled it on over herself before climbing back in.

She watched him as he slept and bit her lip. Maybe she should tell him what Kyle said... It wasn't like anything happened... Kyle... Thinking back now, how many times had she opened the door in just a towel or one of Jacob's shirts. She felt horrible, how much had she accidentally tortured him. Not to mention, when she wasn't staying in Jacob's room, the amount of times he must have seen her sneak out after a long night. She sighed, she felt bad for the guy... She made a note to wear more pants when answering doors... Although, it was hardly her fault that she was confident person. She shook her head and curled back up to Jacob.

After a few hours, Jacob woke up. He noticed that Elliot had one of his shirts on. He smiled at that, carefully he got out of bed without waking her up he pulled out a pair of boxers then some pants. He looked in the bathroom mirror, seeing that he had a really bad bed head he combed his hair down. He then sat on the bed, next to Elliot, he looked at the ceiling wondering how they could win this war.

It wasn't much longer until Elliot woke up. She was surprised, finding herself waking up. She hadn't even realized she fell asleep. She moved her leg, running her foot along Jacob's slightly and noticed he was wearing jeans. He much had woken up and changed. She looked up at him and found he was just staring at the ceiling. She moved so that she hovered above him, her arm on either side of his head. She smiled at him but it faltered after a moment, "Please..." she said quietly, "Don't look like that."

Others may not have seen anything but to her, his look spoke a thousand words. He was worried and stressed and seemed ready for battle. She was sure that he was planning out a battle of sorts in his head. It killed her, she knew that he had to lead the resistance that he had to go out there... But part of her had been... happy that he had been so injured that he was required to stay put. She hadn't got to see him in a year and sure, they slept in the same room now but she knew what it felt like to always have to say good bye. To have to sit around and wait and worry. This last little while, she didn't have that, other than the Kyle scare. She ran a hand through his hair and sighed.

Jacob blinked a moment, then saw Elliot's face. He sighed, "I just can't help it Ellie but I'll try not to for you." He slid his arms, around her waist and then leaned up and kissed her for a moment. Before pulling back, "I'm just worried this war isn't going in our favor I got a report this morning we just lost a supply truck to the robots and a few good soldiers at that. I don't know if we'll be able to pull through and win this war."

Elliot didn't smile when he kissed. She wasn't happy. She lowered her head and pressed her forehead to his," I know... But... I don't... want to lose you again..." She looked at him, "If we lose you.... Then we've all lost. I don't think anyone could take up the reins... Well... Maybe Kyle could.... but for obvious reasons... we can't allow that."

Jacob sighed, "I know that Ellie I know. Not a lot of people can lead after the main leader dies I've seen it in movies before Ellie and I plan on not dying during this war, I plan on making it through this war with you and the rest of the soldiers that can make it through to the end."

Elliot pulled away from his head and out of his arms. She sat up on the bed and ran her hand through her messy hair. She looked at him, "But you can't ensure that!" She climbed out of the bed and started to pace, "You've almost died on me three times since I've got back.... Four if you count when we... were on the roof."

She shook her head, "We can plan on getting out of this but... that doesn't mean we will..."
