Her eyes narrowed, "I'll take the cuff off when we are on our way. I don't trust you." She turned to walk out of the dungeon, but something held her back. She wanted to say she was sorry, but at the same time her thoughts were nagging at her to just walk away. So she did walk away. She met with everyone upstairs and began to construct the pathway to the ghost town known as Augusta. Legend was that there had been a gas leak from a main gas line. This leak had then caused a massive fire that tore apart homes. No one really found any reason to return to the area so it was left in ruins and ashes.

"We have a long couple of days ahead of us. Adam," She said glancing over at him, "Do we have any tents or camping gear? It'll take a while to hike there. Its about 140 miles away from here. I'm guessing three days. There aren't any angel sanctuaries from point A to point B so we'll be roughing it."

"Yeah. We have plenty enough for 8 people. Two people per tent." He nodded, "I'll gather the supplies then." He left the lobby and disappeared into the supplies closet.

"Alright. We leave in the morning!" She said, "Make sure to pack your backpacks with some good food. Its going to be a long trip and I doubt we'll be able to stop at any restaurants." She returned to her room and sighed. Luckily no one had asked about the bruises that had formed on her neck. She hoped they would disappear the next day, but the damn things were already turning an odd shade of purple and black.

--

The next morning she grabbed a backpack and stuffed it with amenities they would need. She sheathed her sword and made her way downstairs. The lobby was filled with her angels getting ready for the adventure. OR so they liked to call it. Most of them were enjoying it. Genevieve stopped by the makeshift gift shop and grabbed a choker necklace. The things Adam did to make this feel like a real hotel baffled Genevieve. The necklace had a heart tied with black lace and she sort of liked it. Even if it did appear to be Gothic. She wrapped it around her neck to hide the still purple and black bruises.

"20 Minutes!" She yelled out as she walked to the elevator. Once downstairs she took a few syringes filled with holy water and stuffed them into her backpack. She had seen what the water had done to Damien and it could come to use if he were to get out of hand. "Rise and shine." She said as she opened the cell, "Time to head to the next Relic." She smiled softly at him, though it was fake.

Damien was once again left to himself in his sell, both cuffs still binding him to his currently human status. It was an annoyance he would have to continue to face, one he was happier with than the torture. Damien frowned deeply. Things would change soon, moreso in his favor. If he needed to, he would attack before all the relics were found.

The night passed uneventfully for the locked away demon, and with the morning came the promise of another adventure. When Genevieve came down to retrieve him, Damien was already up and ready for her. He had cleaned the blood from his face, though his clothes would suffer until half his power was returned to him. His nose, though slightly bruised across the bridge and still just the slightest bit swollen, had healed quite nicely. The bone, at least, had mended correctly.

Damien stared hard at rhe ceiling, just barely aware of the several syringes of holy water Genevieve had packed away. As childish as it seemed, the demon wasn't giving the Angel leader the "silent treatment" as the humans called it. His actions were more for his benefit than to actually do anything towards her, but if it did end up bothering her to some degree, he wasn't complaining. He was more focused on listening to the other angels above his level, reaching out his senses to catch anything that could be used against these wretched holy birds when the time came.

"...about the Relics of Asra? Yeah, I can't believe we're getting closer and closer to..."

"...but I'm serious! Pineapples are just weirdly shaped apples on pine trees. With that logic, you wouldn't think they'd be so..."

"...the Demon yesterday. She must have given him one hell of a beating! There was blood all over..."

"...don't know about you, but this unholy alliance with that demon can only end in disaster. Think about it. What is it getting out of all of this? I know Genevieve has pretty much full control over him at the moment, but how long will that last until things slip up?"

Damien finally looked to Genevieve with almost a blank stare, senses returning to him and his eyes refocussing into a slightly more narrowed form. He held up his left hand and gave a saucy smile, rattling the chain as he shook his wrist.

"I see you recuperated nicely. Still a bit bruised up? Such a shame we weren't able to heal propperly. Quite expected of me, but rather peculiar for you."

He hinted that he had caught on to the cuff's design and how they worked, but he made no other pass to them.

"I assume we'll be leaving with a bigger flock this time? Don't want a repeat of what happened last time, now do we?"

Genevieve was surprised as he talked about her healing. Had he already caught on to her vulnerability when using the cuffs? She hoped not because that was a serious weakness. She was scared he'd be able to play into that weakness at times in which she needed to be her strongest. OR at least appear as if she were at her strongest. She gulped. She just needed to keep to the plan.

She sighed as she walked forward and grabbed the cuff's chains roughly, "Oh just shut up, Damien. No one wants to hear your voice this morning." In all honesty she didn't. She could feel a headache coming on and she just had the sneaking suspicion it was because of her anxiety. Something about Damien caused her to just go crazy inside of her head. As if he messed with some kind of radio frequency that kept everything in order. She just needed to get her own foothold on things so she'd be able to get rid of him once and for all.

She dragged him upstairs where everyone was waiting for her with their bags in hand. "Come on! Gotta get to the stables in ample time so we can get some horses." She glanced around the group assessing how many they would need, "I'm thinking 8 for all of us, Damien rides with me, and then two for all of our extra gear." She grabbed her own backpack that was conveniently sitting by the door and swung it over her back. She glanced at Adam and they exchanged a knowing look. He hadp acked it for her and hopefully she'd find everything she would need inside. She smiled at him.

He walked over and hugged her, "Don't be a stranger." He said as he pulled away, "I don't want it to be another 100 years before I see you again!" he chuckled, "Good luck on your travels. Also. You will find certain things in the bag that will help with what I gave you earlier." He was trying to give her hints, but Genevieve glared at him. Damien was smarter than he looked and Genevieve didn't want him searching her backpack if he got the chance.

"Well! Off we go." She said as she glanced at Damien. Once again she faced the problem of him looking like a slave or prisoner. Both in which are illegal to humans. SO she took one of the cuffs off causing the chain to disappear and took his hand into her's. "Lets go." She mumbled. Once on a horse she wouldn't have to worry about it. He could look like a prisoner all day long because no one would be in sight as they traveled through the hills of Georgia.

Damien couldn't help the sly grin that consumed his features. He had already gotten on the Angel's nerves, and they had barely conversed or been in each other's presence for more than a few minutes. It seemed Genevieve was a bit antsy this morning, though the demon wasn't sure if it was just from his person alone or other causes.

He was led up to the parlor area once more, this time without the aide of a blindfold. After all, there was no longer a point to have one after the other day's fiasco. Once surrounded by the gathering of Angels, he was easily able to point out the ones who were accompanying them on their journey to Atlanta, all of the original flock Damien had first encountered since coming to the city. Unsurprisingly, Adam was staying behind, though not without giving Genevieve some parting words that were quite peculiar. Damien eyed the red haired Angel, but he dismissed the vague words. In due time, in due time.

His left wrist was once more uncuffed for the time being, and his hand was held tightly by the very Angel that had him under her thumb. His knowing smile returned as they made their way out of the building and into the busy streets.

The city was vast and seemed to go one forever without a faster means of transportation. It took at least two hours to reach the west side, their current direction of travel. The edge of the city was finally tangible, however, as were the large stables held their just near the edge of yet another forest-like expanse. At one of the stableheads was a slightly older man, more roughed up by his livelyhood than his actual age, leading a hourse back into its stall. Damien was forced to mask his appearance once more, his eyes going bright green as his clawed hands and sharply pointed teeth receded to a normal standard.

The man looked up as they all approached, giving a single nod in greeting.

"Hey there. The name's Luke. What can I do you lot for?"

"We would like to purchase 8 horses please." Genevieve said with a small smile, "Camping trip, you see, going to visit the ruins of a few towns around here." The man smiled and nodded as he turned back into the stables. He returned a few minutes later with his ledger in hand, "Alright. Go through and have your pick after I recieve..." He did the math in his head, "100 Sterling." He nodded. Genevieve dug in her backpack and pulled out a pouch of money. She counted 100 sterling and handed it to the man.

She then turned to the flock, Damien's hand still locked firmly in her's, "Go pick your horses. Don't just go for the pretty ones, but the ones that you know you'll be able to ride." She eyed one of her flock mates that went by the name Christina. The angel just laughed, "WELL then, Genevieve, you act like I always go for the ones I can't handle."

"You do, Christina. Might I mention a name of a certain Tyler?" This comment made many of the flock burst into laughter as Christina blushed.

"Alright. You win, Commander." Soon everyone had disappeared into the stables to find their horses. Genevieve walked through each stall and came upon a beautiful black stallion. She let go of Damien's hand and petted the horse to ensure trust. It nudged at her hand as if in understanding and Genevieve knew she'd found her horse. She unlocked the cage and ushered the stallion out. The stable hand met up with her with the necessary saddle and food she would need.

After mounting the horse with Damien behind her they headed out of the stables where everyone waited on their horses, "We'll be riding until its to dark to do so. Then we'll set up camp. Got it?"

The statement was met with approving nods as they all began to walk along the road that would lead them to Augusta.
