I'm going to be a little more liberal than that and say that their ship has an armory. But good tactics probably dictate bolters as the standard weapon and the Dark Angels have a lot more plasma weaponry in the armory than other chapters.

I should hope the ship would have an armoury, that'd be a shit show if they didn't...

can I ask why there's only one squad on a strike cruiser though?

It's not a strike cruiser, it's a Gladius-class frigate, and they typically only carry one squad.

well that explains it then. I thought I read strike cruiser somewhere, maybe I'm just crazy. That's the most likely explanation...

I'd call dips on a plasma gun, but if we have a nice armory, that won't be needed... Still, I think my character will bring his own plasma gun.
