I figured as much for Ireland. I like it that way, so there is already a animosity betweenn the two. Since it is an alternate reality of sorts, I want to fight the English for Irish independence. As for the mythology, for example in Irish mythology, there were once a race of magical people called the Tuatha De Dannan, these eventually became the pagan Gods of Ireland. I was wondering if I could play as them, without being OP.

I'm gonna have to say no to that. It's not in the spirit of the RP as I imagined it.

Fine with me. Wasn't sure if it was more realistic fantasy, or historical fantasy. I'm perfectly fine with your standard elves, dwarves, etc.

Honestly, guys I don't get the whole big deal about it being fantasy. I think it's a great idea. If there were fantasy creatures in the Middle Ages, we can assume that they too eventually progressed to an era equal to that of the Renaissance and the Age of Exploration. Plus, you cannot argue about realism on a website that is completely based around being something that's not real. Personally I'm interested in 1. IRELAND, 2. Scotland, and 3. Denmark. Would it be possible to slightly change them to beings of their mythology?P.S. Columbus didn't discover that the Earth was round, Rare. He simply found the Caribbean, which he thought were near India. Hence it is called the West Indies. It was actually Magellan who discovered that the Earth was round, after sailing from Europe to India.

Such he didn't discover the Earth was round, but it help prove that the Earth was indeed round (besides I aren't that dumb). And I have a issue with fantasy, I'm like realism more than fantasy, but that's me. I can make a debate about realism on this site, after all, It has some realism RPs in it. Fantasy should be only set during the Middle Ages, anywhere else wouldn't make sense.

For the New World. It isn't for the Old World. You could take Irish mythological things and make a civilization in the New World, however.

That's your opinion, but all we're asking is you take it away from an RP that inherently holds a different opinion.

I agree that fantasy in the Middle Ages is the most interesting, as that is my favorite type of roleplaying. Yet, I have to disagree with you about it not making sense anywhere else. As I stated above, if the fantasy world was in the Middle Ages, why couldn't they have progressed to an era similar to the Renaissance, or Age of Exploration, or an Industrial Age, or a Modern Age, or a Space Age? Fantasy doesn't have to make sense, doesn't have to be logical, doesn't have to be reasonable. That is the whole point of fantasy. It's the beauty of it. Fantasy can be anything at all, completely up to the molder's imagination. Fantasy isn't limited to Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, etc, all in a Middle Ages setting. Ir could be about the Charakoser(a word I literally just made up), a species that have thirty tentacles and ten heads, with telepathic abilities. They could be in a futuristic setting, with spaceships and the like. Even though it usually be classified as Sci-Fi, it is still fantasy. Science Fiction is exactly what the name implies, fiction that implicates science. Fantasy is anything and everything. Fantasy is imagination itself. Therefore, you can not argue that it can only be in a Middle Ages environment.

Fantasy elements, at the start of the RP only exist in the New World. The Old World is the same as we knew it, but the New World isn't.

Oh, okay. So, does that mean that all fantasy creatures are only in the New World? I'm sorry that I misinterpreted that. I'm currently engaged in another rp offsite in which there are fantasy kingdoms in Europe during the Dark Ages.

I don't know if I will be able to commit to this, but if I can, here are my choices.

1) Kingdom of Amazonia (New World Faction)
2) Kingdom of France
3) Kingdom of Portugal

To be honest, of all the fantasy factions that will be in this game, the Amazons might be one of the most appropriate because this is how the Amazon go its name. But this time, there actually will be Amazons!

Alright, looking at this, I see potential. Freeform is good. I've learnt from this forum that RPs with structured plots breed deserters. Mechanics cause dissent. Yes, freeform is good.

So we're looking at the real world, but with humans alongside fantasy beings? I tried that once, I ruined it with mechanics. So already you're in the right direction.

I'd like to play a revived Western Roman Empire, if I could? Covering the regions around Rome (but not holding the city, cus you know, Catholic seat of the world etc ) and Naples. Some General with delusions of ancestral grandeur, ya know? Gathers his troops, seizes the region and proclaims himself Consul or something. I'd be human, of course, but the Empire would always be willing to fill its ranks with whoever would bolster its fledgling form.

In relationship with Europe, how advanced can we expect the new world "fantasy" nations be?

Your mechanics were actually great, IMHO.

Actually a question here. Instead of Korea could I play an Aztec like Civ in South America but they would be Jaguar Humanoids or Werejaguars.

I'm sorry to inform you all that I shall not take this past this stage. Thank you all for your support, but I feel there was not enough interest for me to commit to it moving forward.
