In this game, they do (quite simply put) nothing. They're a burden if you will. Places you will need to protect to ensure PO is maintained.
In reality they would be civilian outposts and small cities which would provide a small amount of resources, manpower and production to the larger empire (as a form of tax) but those quantities are all poured into the sector's hub in this game.

General anouncement: Can the people who signed up in the interest thread please put a message here indicating they are still in? Once they all do we can start.

Anouncement: I will be placing the first IC post in this thread on Sunday August 3rd.
After that, the two day period mentioned in the rules will start.

At the end of that two day period, anyone that has claimed a faction in the interest check but has not yet posted in the actual game thread (IC and/or OOC) will forfeit their claim and I wil open those factions again for other potential players. It will still be possible for those players to rejoin and claim their faction provided that it has not been claimed by anyone else.

(At the time of writing this post, Lone Wanderer (The Alliance of Nations) and Hyperdrive (the Zox Empire) have already posted and are therefore 'safe')
