I'd like to know more about the setting, I know you said Dallas, but Dallas is pretty huge and I'm really familiar with the area so I was hoping you could be more specific. I mean you say we have a community, but where is this community exactly and what does it look like? Also what tech can we use? I mean do we have access to the internet and maybe some kind of media or news? Also what of vehicles? Do we have any?
Also just for clarification on the timeline. I get that it's been a while since the outbreak started, but how long exactly? From what I suspect it's been more than a month or two. Also can you provide a specific date when the outbreak occurred and what date it is now? One of my characters is a college student and the other one just entered her teens (because you know Puberty and Hell go great together) so the dates will determine whether or not they were in school or what kind of things they were facing at the time.
If possible can you give me a rough idea on how things were during the first few weeks? If not I can freestyle, but I don't want to clash against any preexisting ideas.
Lastly as you can see I can be a bout anal about certain details so I hope you can bear with me.

Lots of Questions!! Here are some answers and I hope it helps.
Well I choose Dallas because it is such a large area. I was thinking closer to Addison/Carrollton area, since downtown is about a 20 minute drive from there. Or even in North region. I hadn’t gotten that far.
Our community would be similar to say, Woodberry on the Walking Dead. Streets blocked off to prevent Roses from entering, have houses and places like a normal town would run. Stuff like that. We well go into detail on how we created this little village!
Tech wise, we are limited. Very limited. We have to be creative on creating power, etc. We still have batteries and stuff. The radio does still work, but it is outputting the emergency broadcast alert. I haven’t thought ahead on this (I thought I would put a twist on this area).
Well, as far as timeline, I would say its either weeks to a few months after the outbreak. It depends on when all the characters met up is when we establish a time. I was thinking counting the days since the initial outbreak for each person, and starting new years, such as 0001.
The first few weeks are up too you. The idea of our intro’s would set the mood on how things happened. I can always write a basic overview of what happened for anyone who needs to go off of something. :) But “clashing” any preexisting ideas may not happen. We are all doing this to create one big story!
I have no problem answering any questions for me. :) The more you ask, the more you will understand the story!
P.S. I'm a college student too. :P I am currently taking Human Anatomy and College Algebra. So, that is a pain in the ass.
Now, as far as replying, take your time. I ask that you reply at least once or twice a week.

Oh, what great questions! To be honest, I hadn't even thought of any of that. I was just excited to get the ball rolling but at least someone asks those because they were pretty important (at least, to me). Glad to have a clearer view now! :3
So, will we be starting before Woodbury (I'll just stick to calling it this for now) or will we start after the town is well together and we sort of know each other? I don't mind either way but it's probably something we should discuss.

From what I gather on the thread someone mentioned that our characters will be "meeting up".
Anyway I'm making edits now to my characters.
Can one my characters have a working phone, ipod, and laptop (Working, but lack of resources limit their capabilities)?. He's been holed up inside since this started so he still has access to lots of stuff. If it's allowed what are the limits to how much I can make use of them?

Holland can have her laptop. ;) I think that will come in some use sooner or later!
Chris can also have his phone. I don't see why they couldn't. However, I would think they were dead due to the lack of energy. However, that factor will come into play once the town has bee established.

I was thinking we would met up before the town, and building it from scratch! It would help develop relationships between each of the characters.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to everything. Give me a few, and I will open up the IC thread for people to start posting. I will post shortly with my characters! Again, welcome to the group!
Also, we need to start thinking about a name for our potential home. Suggestions? We should all be open to anything. :P
