"... You noticed?" Hayley asked back as she placed the plates of flapjacks for each person. Sitting down on her chair, she groaned and rubbed the bridge of her nose. "Well, let's just say that I didn't expect that 'other me' to teach me the sort of stuffs she taught me last night. All things considered, I felt kinda weird. Maybe it's all that programming stuff she did to my head, which might explain why my head feels a bit spaced out right now."

Isaac nods and says, "I figured as much. That's why I figured it'd be better for you if you physically learned instead of having all of that ingrained into your mind over night. There were just too many unknowns doing it this way." Even though he says that, he wraps his arm around Hayley and gives her an encouraging smile, saying, "Oh, well, you're a tough girl. I know you can handle it." Giving her temple a kiss, he then removes his arm and picks up his fork. Using the edge, he cuts a piece of the pancake, sticks it with his fork, and eats it. "At least it didn't mess with your ability to make good pancakes," he says with a smile.

"I think she said something about 'updating my existing database'. Good to know she didn't tamper with my lackluster culinary skill. If she did, I didn't notice," Hayley replied with a good measure of jest as she bit into her portion, satisfied with how the flapjacks turned out. "I want to physically practice what I've learned, but you gotta be crazy to let a she-devil run lose with the sort of power that could give shivers down your spine," she said to him. "That would be my biggest problem at the moment."

"That's exactly how I feel about letting Vincent out when I'm fighting," Isaac replies with a laugh. You're just afraid because you know I'll get more chicks than you ever could! Vincent says, Then why is Hayley my girlfriend instead of yours? Isaac calmly asks. Vincent stutters for a few moments before falling silent. Feeling a profound sense of triumph from shutting his other side up, Isaac takes a sip of his orange juice and hesitantly asks Hayley, "So...what do you think about...you know, us?"

Hayley gave him a quizzical look. "About you two?" she asked, then quietly thought up an answer that could appropriately match her opinion. "Well, I like you two. Yes, there's something wrong with you both with the dual personalities, amnesia, crazy Italian bitch now coveting you and all, but first meetings aside, I enjoy hanging out with you lot! I'm really grateful that we met, even thought I wish that I was less... I dunno, crazy, I guess, when we first met." Rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly, she chuckled and took another bite. "Why'd you ask?"

Even though it wasn't what he meant, Isaac still found himself breathing a sigh of relief as Hayley said that she liked both him and Vincent. You need to be more straightforward to get the answers you want, Vincent says. Shut up, Isaac replies as he tells Hayley, "Well, that isn't exactly what I meant, although it's still nice to know that you like us both." His cheeks slowly reddening, he then says, "What I meant was...What do you think about you and me? You know, being together like we are?"

Hayley's face turned red and the only thing stopping her from crashing her face to the table was the plate of syrup-doused flapjacks right in front of her. "Says a lot about my people skills..." she muttered in embarrassment as she slapped her own face and shook her head, trying to ward off the shame. "Uh, about that.. I, uh... I don't know what to say, at least for now. I-I mean, we h-have only been together for less than a day, b-but I do enjoy it..." Looking somewhat unsure, she decided that there was no harm in being honest and added, "The 'other me' seems to think that this, us being together stuff, is a bad idea. I don't think she trusts you both."

What?! Vincent cries. What's not to trust about me?! I'm lovable! Isaac, instead, sighs and says, "I figured she'd have something to say against it. I mean, she still thinks we're a threat to you, so I'm not surprised." Cutting another slice of pancake with his fork, he skewers the wedge and adds, "I guess we'll just have to give her time to realize that we're not gonna hurt you." He then smiles and looks at Hayley, saying, "The important thing is what you think about it. And I'm glad that you seem willing to be in a relationship like this."

"W-Well, it's not like I want to refuse. I'm admittedly moving into uncharted territory, but I really like new challenges," Hayley replied as she fiddled with her short lock, hoping that she didn't end up shoving her foot into her mouth anytime soon. Munching timidly on her flapjack, she shyly looked at the table and partially whispered, "I'm just glad it's with you. I know I'm in safe hands."

Hearing Hayley's last sentence, Isaac feels his heart skip a beat as she says she was glad she was in a relationship with him. Smiling, he gently wraps his hand around hers and says, "I'm glad you think that. You don't know how much it means to me to hear you say that." After giving her hand a squeeze, he lets go and finishes his breakfast. After putting his dishes in the sink, he returns to his seat and asks, "So, is there anything in particular you wanted to do today?"

Hayley's face turned into a more thoughtful expression as she tried to think of a good way to tell Isaac about her plans for the day. Shrugging lightly, she figured that she wouldn't need to be disingenuous with him, especially now that the two of them were in a relationship. "I'm gonna look for work. There has to be a way for me to keep both of us fed somehow and my fund is running low," she replied, but then mulled over what she could do. "The highest education I have is high school diploma. I don't have any sort of work experience or even a diploma to get me far. Guess I'd better start looking then."

"Vincent or I could get a job, too," Isaac immediately says. "I wouldn't feel right making you do all of the work around here, especially considering our new relationship. I think I should share at least half of the workload." Doing what? Vincent asks. We can't do anything but kick ass, chew bubble gum, and everything in between! After a few minutes, he says, "I could probably get a job in a restaurant. I mean, as far as I know, I'm a good cook, right?"

"That makes sense... Maybe I can work as a waitress or something. As much as I hate dealing with people, I don't want to just sit around and do nothing," Hayley quickly added, not wanting Isaac's own sense of responsibility to end up overworking him. "You've told me that you used to work every now and then at this restaurant where the owners taught you how to cook. Let me come with you and see if I could get a job there myself. I won't bother you at all. I promise!"

Isaac looks at Hayley as she practically begs him to let her go with him. Smiling, he says, "I don't have a problem with that. Odds are, you won't even have to do anything too strenuous, just take people's orders while I'm in the back making the food." Think she can do that without punching someone? Vincent asks, chuckling. Even though he'd rather not, Isaac can't help but stifle a laugh, imagining Hayley punching someone who was taking too long to make up their mind.

Believing that Isaac was laughing at what she could have done, given her temperament, Hayley frowned and muttered, "Yeah, very funny, Isaac." Sighing softly, she looked at him and asked, "I'm guessing that your psycho buddy's betting that I would do something to your customer while I work? Tell that brainless dickbag that I'm perfectly capable of holding my temper back."

You heard her, Vincent, Isaac tells him while wrapping his arm around Hayley and pulling her close. "I know you can handle it," he says, kissing the side of her head. "After all, look at everything you've been through before now. If you would let something this small make you beat someone, then you didn't learn anything from the past, which I know for a fact isn't the case. I have faith in you."

"Trust me, I've dealt with worse people," Hayley murmured as she relaxed and let her body rest in his hold. She felt her cheeks heat up from that one simple kiss, but she nonetheless enjoyed the affection he was showing her. I can't believe I'm enjoying this... she thought quietly as she looked up at Isaac and said, "Should we head there now? The sooner we get this out of the way, the sooner I can start worrying about other things beside money."

Isaac was more than happy to just sit there, his girlfriend in his embrace, but he knows that the sooner they get it over with, the better. "Alright," he quietly says, rubbing her back before he stands and grabs his overcoat. "We're actually pretty close," he says as he waits for Hayley to get ready. "It's probably a ten, fifteen minute walk from here, traffic and weather permitting, of course."

Grabbing her only backpack, Hayley met Isaac just outside of the apartment room. "Even better. Hopefully the owners would be more merciful towards me," the blonde replied and locked the door behind them. She dutifully followed Isaac and nervously looked around, the memories of their previous ambushes still clear in her mind. Although it was unlikely that they would be attacked again, she refused to ignore the risk and watched their steps like a hawk.

As they walked, Isaac kept glancing around, about ready to start jumping at every shadow he sees, considering all of the ambushes they've encountered. Looking at Hayley, he sees his tension reflected in her eyes. Reaching over, he takes her hand, lacing his fingers with hers, and says, "Don't worry. If there's any danger, Vincent will let me know. He's good at sensing people who wanna kill us. I guess psychotic murderers have a sort of ESP." Damn right, I do! Vincent declares.
