I watched one episode and it was ok, I didn't like the clumsy script.

I believe that. I can watch an episode of Game of Thrones without flinching, but I was scared shitless at the first episode.

I really tried with Hell on Wheels, but it just didn't grab me. I usually like historical shows like that, too.

Happy Valley is a good show on netflix too.

I started watching Gossip Girl once I decided I could no longer stand Heroes.

I... don't see where the logic was in that choice, but it might be a considered a guilty pleasure show by now.

I like watching guilty pleasure shows like this and The Lying Game and Vampire Diaries because I can live vicariously through their sexual and financial lives.

I realize that those were all shows on Netflix and that this is definitely not an option, but, you should watch True Blood. I think you might enjoy it a bit.
