Eris was perched on her mattress, balanced on a forklift, ten feet in the air, thinking. She'd pitched the idea of a raid for the umpteenth time - she needed to check the shooting range again to see what she could scavenge - but instead of letting the guys shut her down immediately, she'd insisted they think on it before retreating to her bed, surrounded by copies of her favorite books, spare clothes, and several bags, containing the few weapons and bricks of ammo she could carry with her as she left the shop. She absently picked up her Glock - her favorite firearm, requiring little maintenance. It was a little snappier than her 19, but she enjoyed the extra kick. She checked the magazine lying near it and considered some target practice, maybe even teaching Kane to shoot, but after a moment set the gun back down, deeming the activity a waste of ammunition.

Kane was standing in one of the areas in the warehouse he had claimed as his "kitchen" A couple of tables placed against each other and an old stove he found amidst the loot I the warehouse had practically made up the area but surprisingly he made it work. Currently he was preparing a meal for the group, from some canned chili they had in stock, doctoring it up with some of the spices and he had managed to grab from the diner before he left. Despite the fact that he only had canned goods to work with, he still tried to make anything he made a feast. His katana laid on the table next to the pot he was stirring , and his revolver by it, which made him think of Eris. The girl had been pushing to raid her old gunstore and while he didn't want to go picking unnecessary fights with the dead, he was eager to head back into the city himself to try and find any trace of either Winter or Alice, not to mention the food he had left behind at the diner would prove useful when their stores started getting low.

Marcus was doing his daily rounds and walked up to Eris' forklift, and took his bat and tapped the metal frame, "Morning Eris" he kept walking, he walked down to the rack area and he heard a grunt shuffle, he readied his bat with nails and was ready to attack if attacked, he walked around and a zombie lunged at him and he swung that bat hard and split its skull in two, he then curb stomped it for good measure "Bastards" he muttered as he kept his ears open and he kept on his rounds after a couple of minutes, he then walked back to his forklift and had it go up and he lied down in his bed, he was up on watch since 1am, he wanted to catch up on some sleep

Eris tensed when she heard Marcus kill one of the stiffs, gripping her Glock. When he walked away, she relaxed, then it hit her - how she could show Kane some gun safety and usage basics. They were in an Amazon warehouse, after all. After strolling through several aisles of sporting gear stacked to the ceiling, loaded Glock held in her left, dominant hand, she found what she was looking for and tore off the packaging. After making her way to Kane's 'kitchen,' she said, "Still wanna learn to shoot?"

Kane looked up from the pot and placed his spoon down as Eris approached. "Yes. This mean you're finally gonna teach me?" He said with a cocky grin. "I'm done with breakfast anyway So you actually came at a great time."

Eris craned her neck, looking up at Kane. The guy was almost a full foot taller, a novelty to petite Eris. "Not with your S&W," she said. "With this." She pulled a paintball pistol from her waistband and pretended to shoot him in the head. "Not much kick, but it shoots, which is good enough for now. It's 'spose to be a modified Walther P99. I had a real one back at the shop," she added regretfully.

Kane nodded at the paintball gun. This was alot smarter than having him practice with the S&W since they were running low on ammo, wasting bullets on practice was out of the question."If I can learn with it, than that's perfectly fine with me, doing so without wasting any ammo is just icing on the cake." He noticed the regretful tone she had when she mentioned her shop. He didn't know much about it or her for that matter, but he could infer that she probably felt just as bad about leaving as he did about leaving the diner. "If it means anything you got my vote for heading back into town."

Eris smiled. "Thanks, shorty," she teased. "Wanna start?"

Kane gave a small laugh before grabbing his katana off the table just in case.. "Ready when you are. Lead the way tall stuff."

Eris chuckled as she led Kane to an empty wall a ways away from the kitchen area. Handing him a set of safety glasses, she popped a pair on her own face and loaded the nine round magazine with paintballs from her pocket. Sliding the magazine into the chamber, she fired a few test rounds at the far wall, each one bursting within a few inches. "Alright, for now we'll work on grip and aim," she said, offering him the gun as she held out by the barrel.

Kane nodded and placed the safety glasses on and took the gun from her hand. He had never fired a gun and all his knowledge had come from movies and video games which he knew was not a reliable source. He held the gun in front of him and looked to Eris for some sort of comment of his form.

Marcus sat up yawning and he stretched, he lowered his forklift and walked over to the bathrooms and took a leak, he then went to Aisle 320 bin 477 and grabbed a coffee cup and went to the break room and got himself some black coffee and heated it up and he looked out the bulletproof tinted windows at all the stiffs outside walking about and he started to count and talk to himself "!0 that are visible," he picked up his walkie and hoped Kane or Eris answered "Kane, Eris, you copy, over" he wait for a responce

Eris pulled her unit from her belt and answered with a quick "Eris here, I'm at the south wall with Kane, everything's clear here, over," before clipping it back to her belt and studying Kane's grip. "Alright, it's ok - but the best but, but the worst I've seen, either," she said. "Your grip is a bit twisted, your thumb joint here will be taking a lot of impact, getting your hand worn out faster than usual," she said, repositioning his hands on the pistol. "With your S&M, well, you hold a little revolver like that different than a handgun like this, and, I swear to God, if I make it to the shop, I'm getting everyone a handgun like this, but with one of these, you need to brace your dominant hand with your of hand like this, and hold it a bit away from your body like - that," she went on, molding him into a decent shooting stance. "Think you can shoot like that?"

"Copy, 10 new stiffs in outside, im headed out for a smoke anyways im glad that the smoke area outside is fenced, and with the stiffs outside that gate i wont get board, Whats going on your end, anything fun," he grabbed his smokes and his knife and opened the door to the smoke area waiting for a responce as the stiffs limped to the fenced area and he saw 20 more "take that back 30 stiffs outside the building if your teaching that boy to shoot, now would be a good time for practice, plenty of targets here,"

Kane realized he forgot his walkie at the kitchen and chastised himself for such a boneheaded mistake. He cooperated with Eris' actions in repositioning him into a much more appropriate shooting stance. "This actually feels a bit more natural." He said He took a few seconds to settle int to the stance and try to commit to muscle memory. Once he was satisfied he took a shot managing to hit a little bit below Eris' last shot. "That better?"

"Mm," Eris said to Kane before replying to Marcus, "Alright, I'll bring to greenie out and see if he can hit anything." Turning back to Kane, she said, "What do you think? Wanna shoot some boneheads?" She was already thoughtfully fingering the Glock at her waist.

Kane smirked a little. He was always ready to kill some dead.His hand found the grip of his S&W at the thought. While he would always be a blade man, the paintball test and Eris' form tips had given a bit more faith in his potential to use a gun. "Hell yeah."

"Awesome," Eris said, loading a full magazine into her Glock. She grinned as she took off towards the location Marcus had specified. As they ran, Eris breifed Kane on the best way to kill a zombie. "Severing the spinal cord - one bullet, and they're done. But that takes some serious sharp shooting. A few rounds to the brain works just as well. But it never takes just one."

Kane slung his katana behind him and pulled out his S&W and followed Eris. He listened intently to Eris telling him where to aim for and held back a joke about Hollywood was a bunch of liars. Severing the spinal cord was easy enough with his katana, decapitation was always an effective way to kill anything even with a knifehe could sever the spine with precision. "Well its a good thing I got you watching my back then, cause i might only manage to get a headshot if I'm lucky."
