Four lucky humans - survivors of the initial apocalypse disaster - have made their way out of the desert oasis of Phoenix, Arizona, and into the desert, erecting a base in which they struggle to fulfill their daily needs. As the days stretch on, things get easier - a shelter constructed, a garden sowed - but it becomes evident. This self-reliant fort won't last much longer unless it's inhabitants make a trip to the zombie-infested city.

Name: Eris

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Personality: Bold, adventurous, sarcastic sense of humor, can seem cruel. Not exactly a leader of the gang (there are none), but is a figure of authority.

Background: Grew up with her dad, who worked at a shooting range a few miles outside the city and eventually got Eris a job there, too. He taught her how to shoot, how to fix guns, how to reload shells. She got into fights often, usually finding violence in the back alleys of the desert city, teaching her the merciless art of street fighting.

Appearance: Cropped black hair, dark eyes, Hispanic complexion. Rather delicate-looking at 5'3" and 90 lbs, but fast, agile and strong. She wears blue skinny jeans with the knees torn out, black combat boots, a tank top with a skull with a headdress on it, and a light jacket tied around her waist. She's usually packing a Glock 23 and a tactical knife at the lightest. Her top reveals the edge of a burn scar that seems to have a greater presise shape...

Background: Well he was a working man and he is a local, he worked at phx5 werehouse for Amazon. When things turned to shit he grabbed a big rig and has bunkered there since. He recently met the group and suggested the werehouse for supplies like food and water and even weapons.
Appearance: short hair blond, trucker hat, white tshirt, jeans and steel toe boots. Has a short but noticeable beard and is carrying a baseball bat and ax handle

Age: 20
Gender: Male
Personality: Mild sense of humor, Optimistic, Confident, Curious, and Sympathetic.
Background: Originally grew up in Manhattan, moving place to place with his mother, Saundra, who could never maintain a job, and his younger brother Derek. Being the older one, Calvin never got much time as a kid to play and be stupid, and was always slightly jealous of Derek for having the childhood he never got. But he still loved Derek, and looked out for him as much as any brother would have. Derek, never taking on too much responsibility, spent most time studying and reading instead of being, well, a kid, which probably infuriated Calvin more seeing as how he was forced into this life of responsibility and adulthood and Derek seemed to both like and envy it. Derek was accepted into the University of Phoenix and attended after high school. Calvin decided to pay Derek a visit to see if he was alright, after hearing about some off stories happening in the area. He was just entering the state when he fully understood what was going on. He hurried to the University only to find it had been over run by these Cannibalistic things Calvin could only assume were some type of comic book zombies. Horrified and frightened for his life, Calvin escaped the University grounds, and after days of driving and quickly running out of food rations, he runs into the group.
Appearance: Short black hair, wearing a torn, slightly bloody sweatshirt, bloody jeans, carrying a crowbar and backpack containing few rations, clothes, flashlight, and a map of the area.

well the warehouse is well security safe, but one little problem, its badge accessible, but its got benefits, blunt items, ranging from bats to golf clubs, bows and arrows, ladder access to the roof, ropes, weights(exercise weights), propane tanks, car parts, security cameras, alarm systems, forklifts and cages for higher ground, canned food and drinks, bottled water, water filtration/coolers, shampoo and soap, shower, generators gallore, car parts and plenty of them for repairs, swords, knives, hammers, axes, pickaxes, sex toys for you pervs, nothing will get us from underground why you may ask, hows this for why 6 to 8 feet of solid concrete beneath your feet, beds, chairs, tables, semi truck trailers, tools, bathrooms, movies, tvs, dvd players, music, computers, internet, toys for kids, cameras, clothes, fridges, blankets, fire pits, and i would suggest if people are gonna sleep, use the mattresses provided, get a forklift with cage and lift that forklift high out of zombie reach, it may have security access, but it doesnt hurt to take that extra step hope everyone likes what Amazon Phx5 Warehouse

Name: Kane

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Personality: Calm, Quiet, a bit sarcastic, Is loyal friend and normally the one to settle arguments peacefully though Is downright bloodthirsty if someone actually manages to get on his bad side. He is also prone to shutting himself off during bouts of sorrow he gets when he thinks about things he doesn't want to share with the others.

Background: Kane’s life started off very difficult. Even before he was born his father was prone to many vices. He was a drunk and was addicted to crack, meth, anything you can think of his father did. His mother struggled to deal with providing for their family as well as raising a son while dealing with her husband’s many addictions. He didn’t make it any better for her himself, growing up seeing the things he had seen he acted out constantly as a child picking fights, stealing, whatever.
Things got even more difficult when he was 10 years old and his mother gave birth to his little sister, Winter. Even with the new baby around Kane’s father still couldn’t get his act together and when Winter was only a few months old, his mother left them. He doesn’t really know what it was , but as soon as he looked into Winter’s eyes as soon as his mother brought her home, he felt instantly protective of her. He renounced his wild ways and made it his mission to look after her with his mother absent and his father pretty much so. With his father being the way he was, Kane had to worry about keeping himself and Winter fed, this was how he found his love of cooking. Eventually his father died from overdose and In a tragic coincidence an aunt of his passed away from cancer and left her home to Kane in her will. Kane decided that this would be a great chance to start their lives over and the two of them moved to Phoenix. Kane coming of age, dropped out of school and struggled to find a job. One day down on his luck he stopped into a local diner for a bite to eat. It was here that he met Alice the owner of the establishment and part-time cook. Alice listened to his problems and gave him good advice when he needed it. when she told him that she had a hard time finding a full-time cook for the diner he beamed at the chance. He heavily enjoyed working at the restaurant and considers it a home away from home. He was closing the restaurant for Alice when the zombies hit. As a chef he was really fast and skilled with a knife and combined with some kickboxing training he received, found it great skill for fighting zombies. He tried to get home but was forced back by the multitude of zombies.

Appearance: Standing pretty tall at about 6”2, Carver has dark chocolate brown skin. His hair is black dreadlocks that he wears in a ponytail. He usually wears a bandanna wrap in his hair. Around his neck is a silver rosary. He’s pretty toned from all his kickboxing practice. On his right forearm he has the phrase Memento Mori tattooed, and has another on his back of a snowflake that he got for his sister. He wears a a vest hoodie and carries a bunch of knives or blades on him at all times, but his favorite weapon is a katana Marcus gives him when they reach the warehouse.He also carries a Smith and Wesson Model 19 revolver but doesn't use it because he's never shot a gun before and is trying to get Eris to teach him.

So right now, while we introduce our characters, they're just killing time, but some should probably have some sort of chore to do to contribute to the well-being of the gang. As I said in the interest check, this is the first RP I've posted here, so please, feel free to correct me or suggest a better opener or whatever else.

One last thing before I crash for a few hours: how do you guys want the zombie contagion to pass? A scratch/bite kind of thing?
